Lord Of The Rings
Have any of you seen the new movie adaption, have you read the books. What did you think of the film?

Before seeing the film I was about half way through the Trilogy i'd read it about 8 years ago but couldn't for the life of me remember anything about it. After enjoying all i'd read so far of LoTRs I could wait for the film to be released although I was a little apprehensive of it, incase they made any parts of it too tacky.

I got myself tickets for the first night and I loved it, I can only hope the others are half as good, since then i've seen the film an additional 2 times.

Any views?

Re: Lord Of The Rings
I'm going to see the movie tomorrow, hopefully. I just finished listening to "The Hobbit" on audio CD in the car. Now starting "Fellowship" in the same manner.

Re: Lord Of The Rings
I loved the movie.

I had been a while since I read the book. I decided to see the movie before I read the book again. The movie was great.

I am reading the book now and when I have finished reading it I plan to see the movie again. :)

Re: Lord Of The Rings
Well, I LOVED the movie! Great acting, great panoramas, and (this is unusual for film adaptations) they managed to considerably compress the backstory and still have it understandable.

Of course, they changed much, at lease before Rivendell. Cut out ol' Tom Bomberdil all together, but overall I think they made the movie better than way.

Someone said that the next two movies are going to be less like the books. Don't know if its true or not.

^^ hope not. That would be a big shame after all the fuss of the Fellowship.
