Magic system - Applying for a wizard? Read this first!
Words of Command
Runes of Power
Necromancy
The Flame Imperishable
Five Istari
The Black Arts

This is the true original Magic System of the NKoA(tm)! Here we basically divide them first into an alignment(Good, Evil), and then whom you serve (Aulë, Yavanna, Nienna). I will list a few links and information, and then you can begin the choice of spellclasses. No, not Magic Missile or Shapechange, or even Flare! I am thinking of Words of Command, Enchantments, all those spells that has been carefully explained in the LotR and the first and best link here:

Tolkien’s Magic - The Magic in Middle Earth

Understanding Magic - The best I've seen so far

An Essay

The Valar

The Valar and the Valier are the 'gods' of Arda, those with the greatest power and responcibility of all. They dwell in Valinor, the Undying Lands, together with most of the Elves of the world. The Maiar are their servants, and they decide what they should do. Most of these Powers have a certain craft, element or art they master. Their servants, the Maiar, inherit these abilities from them. I have made a separate post for this at this link.

Skills

Yes, I've decided to run on a skill type of Magery! You all get different main skills, then sub-skills under those. These are the skills useable by both the servants of the Secret Fire and the Black Arts. In paranthesis you'll find examples of inept, adept and mastery.

Black Arts, Secret Fire, both

Words of Command

- Physical (Pushing, breaking, throwing etc.)

- Mentally[/font] (Weak daze, confusion, hallucinations/lessened vision)

- Dark Curses (Inflicting fear, making enemies flee, making groups of lesser-minded flee (Example: All soldier sin vicinity))

Elemental Control and Others

- Fire (Sparks, kindling fires, small fireballs/rain of fire etc.)

- Water (focusing or spreading rain drops, shortly turning the stream, enhancing the stream/waves)

- Wind (Kill a candle, blow smoke away, blow wind in the sails)

- Growing Things (Speed up growing, blossoming a flower, manipulating nature)

- Animals (Animal speech, animal messenger, taming of beasts)

- Spirits (Seeing the invisible, talking to spirits, summoning a spirit(Like the barrow wights))

- Light (Staff light as in Moria, powerful flash, concentrated light blinding enemies)

- Darkness (Lessening the sunlight in a small area, fold yourself in light shadow, cloak yourself in pitch black darkness)

Examples on Spellwords

In the NKoA we use, as Gandalf did, lines of words in other languages when performing magic. The Black Speech or Elvish Sindarin or Quenya, or something else like Valarin. I have gathered a few examples for people that they might use. Also, these "lines" are to be used only with adept or mastery skills in a type of magic, as Gandalf did not use any such words when "lighting up" his staff near the Western Gate of Moria, we are to presume that these things should only be used when doing the strongest spells.

'Behold the power of the Secret Fire!'
'Alae i balan uin i Thurin Naur!'

'Flame of Arda, Listen to my voice!'
'Naur uin Arda, lasto beth nîn!'

'By the power of Ulmo, I command the Water'
'Ani balan uin Ulmo, im tortho i Nen!'

'Fire brings darkness!'
'Ghâsh Thrakabûrz!'
