Marillion: New Album and A SINGLE RELEASE !!!
On May 3rd, 2004 the progressive rockband Marillion is about to release a new album entitled "Marbles".
The single for 'You're Gone' will be released in 3 separate formats in the UK on 19th April 2004.
"By our calculations, in the current UK single market, if you go out and buy one single each, we'll go Top 40. If you go out and buy two versions, we'll go Top 20. If, however, you'd like to make an old dog very happy, you could dig-deep, get into eight quids-worth of debt and buy 3 copies or more of our single, in which case, we'd almost certainly go Top 10 and I'd have my first ever Top 10 single just before my 45th birthday!! (bizarre, or what?!) Marillion would become a household name and not simply remembered by Mr and Mrs Joe Bloggs for "Kayleigh". There is no better time for this to happen, as it would set up perfectly this PEACH of an album that we've just finished, and this PEACH of a tour that we're about to embark upon.

'You're Gone' is being released as a single in the UK, Germany
and Holland. Other countries may follow depending on the reaction they get from the radio stations - if the situation changes we will let you know.
The UK will have three formats (2CDs and a DVD) and Germany and Holland will have two (1CD and 1DVD). The video for 'You're Gone' has been finished and will be available on the DVD version of the single.
As the many thousands of fans who regularly flock to see the band live or buy their records are all too aware, there really is no other band like Marillion. Refusing to compromise their music by bowing to marketing pressures, focus groups or record labels seeking a chart-busting single, Marillion have pressed on to create their own unmistakable and unique music whilst amassing a huge "underground" following around the world.
If you haven't heard them before, listen up...Whatever you're expecting, this band just keeps growing and changing.
Their new CD 'Marbles' is a creative milestone of atmospheric and stirring songs. Intense, deep-seated and musically multilateral - you'll either "get it" or you won't. The choice is yours.
Quotes on the new album:

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.
