Midnight at Nova: So we Meet Again!
I NPCed them at the end a little, tell me if it's ok or not!

Work had vanished promptly at seven, from there she was dressed and armed and ready to see what news she could dig up. Things were never easy, but they weren’t impossible either, all Abby had to do was push the right buttons and crash the right places. Tonight she had decided to avoid the Blackrose, not that she played it a regular visit, but roughly once a week still made her a common threat for them to deal with and tonight if Ben saw her there then he’d know for sure she did more then hand out friendly tips. Ok, she wasn’t ditzy, she knew he guessed more then he let on, but guessing was different to knowing and Abby was keen on keeping him in the dark until she knew of his reputation or at least his goals for sure.

Turned out to be easier to find the hotel then Abby would have given them credit for, but apparently they were highly active and actually gave out their address for people (or things) suffering from unnatural phenomenon’s. Renaissance hotel. Surprisingly well kept, service was decent too, Abby went to the trouble of even booking a room for the night just so she could get a glimpse of what happened on the inside. There had been some strange man at the desk, looked handsome but seemed like a child when she got him into small talk, the man constantly petting a bird. There was someone else there as well, again with the attractiveness and he seemed friendly, if not strangely distant at the same time. As eleven approached Abigail became to learn a few helpful tidbits that surprised even her, for one, most of the workers there seemed supernaturally inclined, save for a woman who had been talking to Abby and the two hit off when they both stumbled onto the topic of watchers and their passionate dislike for them.

As bizarrely interesting as Abby was finding her night there she left, feeling productive enough to excuse her lack of actual hunting and promising herself she’ll try and get in some more hours before calling it a night, though that depended on Ben, she couldn’t say how her meeting with him may progress. By the time she arrived outside the now packed café it was about ten past midnight and changing might risk Ben thinking she wasn’t showing up and have him leave. Well she didn’t look overdressed really, black pants, boots and a sleeveless vest that showed some well toned stomach made her fit in with the rest of the youths with the ideal of dress to impress. Ruby quartz glasses framed her features and a light touch of pale strawberry gloss to her lips, wearing black gloves, both which kept her thumbs exposed, her right arm dressed in a wrist band which hid her retractable blade.

Wavy hair fell loose about her shoulders since the bun was pulled out when it got lose on the run back, her hair tie slipped in her back pocket for the moment since she was too lazy to do it up again. The vibrations of the music were strong even before Abby stepped foot inside the café, her fingers pulling out her own set of earphones so there wasn’t an overlap of rhythms, the white cords hanged over her shoulders and down the front of her chest noticeably against the black attire. Weaving her way through the crowd, most of which were trying to get down stairs and the rest enjoying themselves without the music from down stairs blasting in their ears. While it could be heard from above the sound proofing walls below made it manageable and more of a backdrop instead of inescapable, in your face type of deal.

Most likely Ben would be at the bar if he was already waiting, the loud muffles of noise from all directions made it impossible for Abby to hear anything that may be directed towards her, but in the end with the place packed it was more likely if she walked by him he’d just get up and get her. As it were, she found him there, waiting and patient, a hand tapped him on the shoulder as she called out over the loud talkers nearby.

"Follow me." The luck influenced mutant motioned him towards the far end of the room, she’d happily take him into the back lounge if she could honestly vouch for him but in all fairness she couldn’t so the private area of the café would have to do for now. The area was cut off but a wall and then an Asian designed wooden framed divided, more for show then blocking out sounds and as they entered the now slightly oriental themed area Abby motioned to the corner of the room, comfortable sofas spanned the walls with polished red wood tables and nicely carved cushioned seats sat around them.

"This isn’t open for public, hence the different theme style." Abby explained since it contrasted a little with the brighter style outside, her gloved hands untied the wooden bead curtain, signaling that the room was now in use though that didn’t stop others from entering, just told the people serving to make sure they stop by the room to see if its occupants wanted anything. "Are you thirsty? Or hungry, I’m getting something small to nibble on." Abby offered, her tone of voice making the offer sound as if it were on the house, Jerold didn’t mind his girls offering friends or family free things, he wasn’t in the café to make money, that was just a pleasant surprise, so he was very relaxed with things like that.

TBC: Ben.

Re: Midnight at Nova: So we Meet Again!
Well, at least I'm not the only one in the monochromatic color scheme. Ben was clothed in black like Abby, with black jeans, t-shirt, combat boots, and a black nylon backpack sitting at his feet. He had his favored weapon in his bag, along with a bodysuit which would cover Ben in the best kevlar. While Abby's clothes looked ready for going into any nightclub, Ben's looked more like a uniform. He had spent some of the day in the Blackrose to get a feel of the place. He had also taken the oppertunity to place a very nondescript electronic bug so he could overhear what was said after he had left. Ben had not said much in there, taking the time to alter his apperance so nobody in the Blackrose would recognise him if he came back tonight. It was amazing what a little bit of a disguise could do. He had heard of where this clan of creatures he was following was hiding at, but he wasn't sure about attacking them on his own. He had no doubt that with the proper planning and attack route he would be able to survive. His fear was in the fact that several of these creatures might be able to escape in the confusion. Inside of the bar, he had an amazingly easy time. Outside a few of the beings that frequented the bar had tried to hurt him, but that didn't bother Ben very much. There was just something about being able to defeat a more powerful adversary that just made him feel alive.

Ben had also taken the oppurtunity to look up some of the more common weaknesses of supernatural beings. he had not had the time to get any specialized weapons, so he would be stuck with what he usually had to rely on since anything he might encounter would probably outclass him in all the physical measures. It meant that Ben would have to rely on his skill, innovation, and training to win.

Ben folllowed Abby into the Oreintial room, wondering about the security of meeting in a busy nightclub. Probably a better setup than I thought, considering that nobody could hear what we talk about over the music outside.

Hearing Abby ask if he wanted anything to eat or drink, Ben said Water please, and an apple if you have one. Ben didn't like drinking or eating anything that made him feel weighted down if there was a possibility that he would have to spend a lot of time running or fighting. Prefering to get right to business, Ben decided to tell Abby what he had learned, which was admittedly not much.

I visited the bar you mentioned and found out where those things are living at. They are living under some warehouse a few blocks from there. Ben wasn't sure what the best way to attack these creatures would be. Some of it might depend upon if Abby had better luck finding any weakness of these beings than Ben had. So far, Ben had only discovered that they could be killed by beating them to death, blades could kill them, and bullets only annoyed them severely.

Re: Midnight at Nova: So we Meet Again!
"Water please, and an apple if you have one." Apple? Ha. Of course they had an apple! Abby moved over to a small fridge that was hidden off in another corner behind a small bar, the fruit dish was constantly filled since most of the girls were either on special diets or just didn't have time to eat properly while on the run. Abby grabbed a mango for herself, plus two bottles of water and an apple for her companion.

"I visited the bar you mentioned and found out where those things are living at. They are living under some warehouse a few blocks from there." So close? It bothered Abby a little that she hadn't know of danger so near her, but it wasn't the first time and god knows it won't be the last time, unfortunately. In any case she gave only a mental sigh as she walked over to the chosen table and placed down his small bottle of water and the apple in front of Ben and then began carefully peeling the skin off the mango, her own water sitting happily in front of her. Abigail tended to be too relaxed in company, especially of their own age and she totally would forget some people preferred drinking from glasses instead of out of the bottle or have little plates under their fruits or this and that which Abby's parents insisted on her remembing. Most of the time people just didnt feel bothered this way or that and Abby figured that if they wanted something all they had to do was ask!

"So close? hm. Pretty cocky of them." There was a smile showing, one that clearly stated they thought they could get a laugh from stirring up trouble in the area under her nose without suffering for it. "Well, I did some seeing around, found that hotel I told you about, the decor was nice and the menu was decent, the owners are undead and they have pretty well sized rooms too." A slice of mango was cut from the fruit and placed in her mouth, a moment given to chew and swallow and then a drink from her water before she continued.

"From what I learned the place is demonicly ran, it's open house, mutant, demon, whatever doesn't belong outside belongs in there. They deal in the abnormal, apparently both male owners are vampires with souls...well, I've never heard of such a thing, but if they say so." Another sip from her water, then again she picked up the fruit knife and cut another slice from the mango. "It seems legit though," Abby assured, and knew from rumors that they were really doing a good job, no matter who or what they were. "Lizard bugs..." A sudden shift in topic showed how easily Abby could switch from one thing to another, her mind constantly on all subjects at hand, dealing with one and then moving on to the next with little pauses between unless descussion was needed.

"Everyone has a weakness, but can't say I've heard of the species you've described, now a nice old fashion Werewolf, there I coulda helped ya." A Ware house...nearby? Abby intended on checking it out, and maybe silver won't do it's job but she had some deadly concoctions whipped up that could be just as deadly, her toxin coctails having a serious kick and not something she'd be willing to use on humans, not unless it was the absolute last of resorts. "You got back up? Weapons?" Did they have weapons? Abby didn't care how strong someone was, when a throng of demons were in the mix then strength goes out the window, that's what made demons hunting demons so perfect. That's why humans born as chosen hunters were empowered with such great gifts, Abby heard about these woman from the Watcher and from stories.. but even they tended to have short lifespans.

Re: Midnight at Nova: So we Meet Again!
Undead hotel owners? Crap. Maybe Dad, Clint and Tony weren't pulling my leg with those stories when I was a kid. Guess that was the main problem everyone had with Dad. When you were that much of a straight shooter, it is hard to tell when you're kidding and when you are telling the truth. Guess you could say the same about me though. Despite these thoughts Ben was willing to accept the fact that such beings could exist. World had mutants, robots, aliens, super soldiers and spell casters in it, what difference did a few monsters make?

"Everyone has a weakness, but I can't say that I've heard of the species you've described, now a nice, old fashioned werewolf, there I could help ya. You got back up? Weapons?"

Ben considered these questions for a second, and then replied with the face and tone of a scholar of all combat while eating his apple They are bipedal vertebrates, having bilateral symnetry of their bodies. means that they have a form similar to ours. They have a few innate weaknesses just by possesing that form. Most obvious example is that any strike to the throat or eyes will cause tham to automatically flinch just like us humans. especially the eyes since they have no type of covering over them. They can be killed from enough trama from weapons or even from fists, but it takes a lot more of it. Stabbing and piercing didn't seem to bother them iso bullets are out. Arrows might work if there is a way to keep them inside of their bodies for a while. The problem is the number of these creatures. If they can be seperated into smaller groups, they can be defeated. If they stick together, some other sort of weakness will be needed to eliminate them all at once. Ben frowned slightly while considering the question of weapons. He didn't exactly go into battle with a slew of weapons, but he did have one favored weapon that served his father well, and that he used more than anything else.

I could get some back up if I was going to wait for a few days for them to get here. But I don't like the thought of letting these beings running around harming innocents if I can do something to stop it. Ben was still wondering if he should let this capable woman see what weapon he used, since there was a lot of history behind it. Heck, even if he did tell her what he used and how he got it, she wouldn't believe him.

As far as weapons go, I have one that I prefer, but if I told you what it was and why I have it, you wouldn't believe me.

Re: Midnight at Nova: So we Meet Again!
As Ben explained in a more detailed and scientific fashion then just street talk, Abby couldn't help but feel this guy who fall in love with both her dad and the family scientist who supplied her with all her nifty toys. Well, physical weaknesses...sure, even vampires had those, but she was talking more like silver bullets, stake to the heart, that sort of weakness. All Abby did was thoughtfully chew on a mouthfull of mango, eating in a manner a little refined, trained into her at birth that wasn't so easily discarded.

"Stabbing and piercing didn't seem to bother them iso bullets are out. Arrows might work if there is a way to keep them inside of their bodies for a while." How about a high powered arrow in the gut? Being an archer at heart, with a powered artilliery bow about to read up to over 300 kph and more, it was definitely news she warmed up to. Add a few special arrows to the mixture and she was sure damage could be done, even if they wouldn't be vulnerable to things like holy water, viles of specially designed toxins ought to pack some punch, if nothing too drastic it'll at least have to daze them.

"The problem is the number of these creatures. If they can be seperated into smaller groups, they can be defeated. If they stick together, some other sort of weakness will be needed to eliminate them all at once." A few chargers perhaps? Maybe she could try out her new multi-charge cluster bombs, or maybe she should stick with what she was familiar with. She didn't care how tough their bodies were, the Arc should bee able to slice through them like red hot steel through butter.

"I could get some back up if I was going to wait for a few days for them to get here. But I don't like the thought of letting these beings running around harming innocents if I can do something to stop it." It was like the guy was pushing all the right buttons to get on her better side, well, he was doing a splendid job, and Abby wasn't sure if that was a good thing or something she ought to worry about. Thoughtfully Abby cut what looked like the last piece from the pip of the mango, not enough flesh left on it to be cut off after she finished this mouthfull.

"As far as weapons go, I have one that I prefer, but if I told you what it was and why I have it, you wouldn't believe me." And amused look spread over Abigail's features, here they were talking about things that go bump in the night and he's saying there's something she won't believe. A slight chuckle was muffled behind the back of her hand as it lifted to press over her lips.

"The ware house, eh?" Wrapping her fingers about the bottle Abby raised it again to her lips and took in a refreshing mouthful to wash away the residue of mango lingering within her mouth. "I'll meet you there, I'll need a few minutes to collect some things." Abby stood up as she spoke, "I'll be right there, not more then ten minutes." She was serious, but still had that ever present smile there on her lips, as if it was all just a joke and yet at the same time she knew this wasn't anything but serious. Some people had a bad time handling her attitude, especially the older or dark and broody types. It didn't bother her though, if they didn't deal with it they could just walk off and never look back. It's not like Abigail is restricted to team work, if anything, she's a solo player, but that doesn't mean she won't try and help out or pair up if it made things more efficiant.

Ok, you can open a post somewhere of Ben waiting at the warehouse if you want, or decline or offer, just so you know if it's a go we can fade out here!
