Monday: 19th - Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
With Arisa settling in nicely back in the school and her brother the only real concern on her mind at the moment, the guardian angel assigned to her… and all those around her which basically made him the guardian angel of the entire inhabits of the school to a degree, found himself with relatively nothing to do that held any real importance. Boredom was setting in and William was restless, it seemed strange that this realm asked one of William’s lineage to watch over others and yet expect their guardians to have no personal contact whatsoever. It seemed like a ridiculous joke and the fact his twin sister was whisked away on other errands William found himself even more lonely and detached this passing week then all the ones before.

At least he was able to move around undetected, for the most part anyway. Turned out the occasional mutant had the ability to see him, or just feel his presence, such as a telepath could sense his thoughts and someone able to speak with the dead could talk to him. The dying also had an ability to see him so William decided to steer clear the med lab since despite his eagerness for companionship he was far from ready to actually befriend anyone. After all, what happens if they discover that it was his own father who was causing so much terror to their people? It had been months since he was brought here, and Tasha had explained to the doctor that the two were in danger and that they had been attacked with a supernatural weapon, William’s body managed to fight off the toxin since he was only a third demon and his angelic blood had a resistance to the deadly blood which smeared the blade and his human side wasn’t effected at all aside from the actual wound which healed without a scar. Tasha had been a great help, convincing Beast that the only thing William needed for a good recovery was in easily obtained and she could take care of him, as long as they had a room for a night or two. That was before William was a chosen guardian, and Will had taken a liking to the doctor, managing a few chats with the large feline before departing three days after their arrival.

Hank had been impressed with William’s recovery but the mix breed left before his strength and entirely returned and the kind doctor hadn’t looked overly pleased with the rushed departure. It was nice to know someone would concern themselves for another he had not known for long, so when William had returned Hank’s lab had been the first place he went, only seeing one heartache after another and Hank so desperately trying to juggle them all. It was just a pity that more help wasn’t on hand to take some of the burden off the tired doctors shoulders.

A careful hand picked up one of the pictures from Jean’s desk, a happy family was captured in the delicate silver frame, Will knew the faces from his time around the school, the young boy was much older now… Sean. And her husband, Will hadn’t seen him around, but remembered him from the first visit. Other photos scattered her desk and even the walls, some of them with other kids, with entire classes, a large frame sat in the center of one of the walls off to the side, its redwood frame decorating a large picture of the entire school which had been taken at the end of last year before classes finished for the holidays and end of the school year. A lot of the photos were taken by Connor, who tended to get into the mood of photo taking often, not that Will knew that, but Connor was always happy to show his photos to the people who were portrayed in them. Jean always asked to keep copies, some went into the school paper, most went on Connor’s wall or were handed out as memorabilia to those who Connor had taken the photo of, a lot of the time they just ended up in some photo album which got shoved aside. This year Connor hadn’t gotten into any photo shooting moods, which Jean could understand given the situation but still felt sad that Connor stopped doing the one thing that really got him to become social with other students on a personal level.

It was something Connor did, but never really liked discussing, sort of like his journals, and story writing, and aside from not being very talkative about his photography he had a laptop no one knew about. Well, Jean had a vague idea that Connor kept a diary, but only from accidentally overhearing his thoughts, and Connor, like many of the people growing up or living long term at the school, had developed his own tactic of shielding his thoughts from prying minds.

William smiled at a picture of all the faculty, Jean kept it on her desk with some other cherished photos, mainly because all of them were happy, even Logan had cracked a smile, and Jean knew it was because Connor had just received a new camera for his birthday after the old one broke from being dropped a few too many times (Madison wasn’t the most joyful of models when it came to having a camera stuck in her face). Jean knew Logan was just happy that his son was finally smiling and the fifteen year old actually got along pleasantly with his dad for that day, it was just a few years ago but it seemed Logan still longed for those moments when Connor actually looked genuinely pleased. More importantly; Logan’s son being genuinely pleased with him.

The mixed blooded immortal knew people couldn’t see him when he was between the earthly realm and the other side, a dimension which crosses over perfectly with this but enables him to be unseen by the mortal realm. Unless of course someone else was bordering life and death, their soul slowly slipping away to the other side and enabling people to see what usually could not be seen. Yet even with this knowledge Will fought his natural overpowering curiosity and tried to stay clear of exploring people’s rooms, their private domain, the area which could tell you more about the person then one could learn by following them around for days. Though, Will did go to Connor’s room, not because he knew Connor or even because Connor was Arisa’s brother, but because Connor had been harmed by his own father, Will wouldn’t lie by saying he wasn’t utterly ashamed for his father’s actions. Even if the two were estranged that didn’t mean William still felt some how responsible for not putting a stop to his father’s vile ways. William didn’t do more then just stand inside the doorway, how long he stayed he wasn’t sure, but to hear of Connor’s return the following day had eased some of the pain which had amplified.

The attire William wore hadn’t changed since his arrival, still dressed as what anyone may called a ‘pirate’, his polished silver buckled black boots and frilly shirt, reddish brown cape with fine golden borderline stitch work, and a white feathered beige hat which also had a silver buckle well polished upon it. At his hip was a sword, his hand resting comfortably on the silver handle. Not exactly thinking about his attire when he decided to wait for Jean, to see if perhaps he could talk with her…she seemed so drained but her personality was warm and affectionate, maybe Will could reach her, find council in her as so many others had done. It was so easy for his father to just pop in and announce they were kin, that William was sure that if he even tried to pretend to be anyone else other then his father’s son, it may lead to nothing but disaster.

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
Jeans office was always a good place to start looking when you wanted to find her and Scott did want to track down his wife before the day went any further. Although he had been out of med lab for a couple of days now he could still feel that she was treating him as if he was made of porcelain and would break apart at any moment. Hardly surprising really given the crisis at the restaurant only a week before but still. Even if it was true that he had to be careful what he did, he was determined to get their relationship back to something resembling normality.

Hence his plans for that evening. Nothing elaborate. Just some time spent together watching a decent film and eating Chinese food. He didn’t want either of the to have to cook and at least with Chinese he didn’t have to get someone to help him cut things up, something he had to admit he was finding a bit trying to say the least. But first he had to catch her and make sure she didn’t have any other plans. Not that he thought she would have. She was tending to stick pretty close to him but more in the role of a nurse than that of a wife. And that was definitely something he wanted to remedy.

He did give a rather absent minded knock on the office door before he opened it but that was more out of habit than anything else. There were no voices coming from the room so it was unlikely that she was meeting with a student More probably she was trying to catch up with the mound of paperwork that the school seemed to generate and he knew that if she was then an interruption, especially by him, would be appreciated rather than frowned upon. Jean never minded him dropping in . In fact sometimes his unexpected presence would give her the opportunity to bounce ideas of someone or get a fresh perspective on whatever problem was bothering her at that moment in time. They had always been more than just a couple. They had been a team and he for one didn’t want that to change no matter what his state of health might be.

In any case when he pushed open the door he had been expecting either to find the office empty of his wife seated calmly behind her desk. He had most certainly not expected to be confronted by what looked like a student in full pirate regalia. Scott blinked behind the visor wondering for a moment if his eyes were deceiving him but no, the young man was most definitely there and so was the sword and the feathered hat. *Ok This is different* Cyclops thought to himself. Could it be a costume call for the school play he wondered ? It didn’t seem very likely. Or at least not unless the new teacher had come up with some very radical version of Romeo and Juliet indeed.

Wait. Didn’t Hank mention something about a student who had an astral image that went about in costume. But that didn’t seem to coincide either He was sure the Doctor had told him that the young mutant imagined himself to be Robin Hood. * Prince of thieves Ill give him. But Prince of the pirates?? Oh well each to his own. *

In any case the fact was that there was someone in Jean’s office. And that Jean herself was nowhere to be seen. * Looks like its down to me then* Scot realised, as he entered the room and closed the door behind him. “Good afternoon” he said in a businesslike but not unfriendly fashion.” If you are looking for Mrs Summers I‘m afraid you’ve missed her. Perhaps I can be of some help instead?”

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
The sound of the office door opening caused William to place down one of the photos he had been admiring, turning his attentions instead to the entrance way only to find a male whom was recognizable only from the photos as being Scott Summors. That or the kid grew up into a duplicate of his father, but somehow William felt it safe to assume that the images of their family weren’t so dated.

“Good afternoon” Surprise was barely contained on the attractive features of the seemingly younger man, Will’s eyes watching the human with peeked interest, a swelling of sympathy now rising as it became apparent that the other saw the usually unseeable mix breed. ”If you are looking for Mrs Summers I‘m afraid you’ve missed her. Perhaps I can be of some help instead?” Full attention was given to Scott, William’s hat gracefully removed and placed against his chest as he offered a curt bow before discarding the hat upon Jean’s desk and approaching a few closer to the apparently dying mortal.

"On the contrary good sir, I am here to offer you my own helping hand. However, as it would happen I am indeed in need of some assistance as well, hence I was hoping to catch your lovely lady but as I have missed her then I am glade it is you of whom I catch." The unusual mixture of heaven, hell and in-between was a rare concoction indeed, and the human would have no idea how unique and extraordinary William’s family tree really was. But blood didn’t make a person, his actions did and being in the line of business William and his sister now found themselves in it wasn’t too hard to see all the good all these people here have done.

"As fate would have it I have been a guest of this establishment before, though I was patient of the grand doctor McCoy for the few days I had recuperated in these walls." William’s hand motioned Scott towards the seats by the desk, hardly caring which ones Scott chose to take, most likely it would be the one which belonged to Jean. "Perhaps however what I have to say now is best spoken whilst sitting." Never knew how humans reacted to talk of otherworldly things, and William himself wasn’t exactly what he was intending on saying and what he should try to leave out, honesty seemed the safest route in the long run, but more dangerous for the here and now. "I must admit, I had still been considering how to approach the subjects at hand when you arrived, and fear my thoughts are still a little scattered." Sitting down wasn’t an option for William, who much preferred the freedom of standing, and his habit of pacing at times would mean he’d just stand up again anyway.

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
The plumed hat was swept off in an elaborate gesture and them discarded on to Jean’s desk where it lay like some improbable paperweight. Behind the visor Scott’s unseen eyebrow rose in a mixture of amusement and irritation at the way the young man seemed to grant himself free run off the headmistresses office. "On the contrary good sir, I am here to offer you my own helping hand.

The speech was every bit as theatrical as the costume and Cyclops had to admit that he was intrigued to here what this offer of help would turn out to be. "However, as it would happen I am indeed in need of some assistance as well hence I was hoping to catch your lovely lady", *Ah why am I not surprised* Scott thought cynically.*that sounds much more likely. Lovely lady eh well at least he has good taste even if his sense of propriety leaves something to be desired. *

"but as I have missed her then I am glad it is you of whom I catch." the unlikely visitor went on. Scott supposed the young man was getting towards his explanation of what he was doing there and for the moment at least Cyclops was prepared to wait. After all there was just the possibility that the eccentric dress and manners really did stem from the fact that this particular student had drifted in from some strange alternative universe or had been displaced in time. Both things had already happened before proving that the only thing of which you could truly be certain at the Institute was that there were no certainties.

"As fate would have it I have been a guest of this establishment before, though I was patient of the grand doctor McCoy for the few days I had recuperated in these walls."

So Hank knew him. Strange that that hadn’t come up in conversation But then again Scott and the doctor had had other things to discuss recently. Unfortunately. *I must try to remedy that* he thought to himself suddenly *Stop being just doctor and patient and get back to being friends again. While there’s still time.* He wondered what the blue furred mutant had made of this young man. At least the physician had seemed to make a good impression *‘the grand doctor McCoy’ I must tell him that one.*

The stranger was still making himself very much at home now going so far as to offer Scott a seat waving a casual hand as if he owned the place.*I wonder if he even realises he’s doing it* Scott thought *Or if such behaviour is second nature to him.* "Perhaps however what I have to say now is best spoken whilst sitting." he declared, the seriousness of his expression doing something to stave off the teachers underlying irritation. "I must admit, I had still been considering how to approach the subjects at hand when you arrived, and fear my thoughts are still a little scattered."

“Maybe you’re the one who should take a seat then” Scott said moving behind the desk but staying resolutely on his feet. Till you get your thoughts together.” His tone was cool but not altogether unfriendly, the tone of a teacher to a student, calm and attentive but demanding an explanation all the same. “Then you can start by telling me just what sort of trouble you’re in and exactly what you think we can do about it.”

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
“Maybe you’re the one who should take a seat then” Appearing in his early twenties made him look young, and regardless of his one and bit centuries William was still treated as a youth of his culture, considering he and his twin sister were both part of a world where centuries were just a moment in time for them. Being treated in a tolerated manner was familiar to William, more so then to his sister who had managed to find an actual family to take her in, while Will had been turned aside and forced to make his own way in the demonically inhabited dimension. “Till you get your thoughts together.” Would such a thing be possible? William was still only a few months in this realm, it was different and mortals were unfamiliar, like pets that needed to be tended as far as Will’s officials were concerned. In all likelihood Will could sit there thinking for Scott’s entire lifetime, then again considering Cyclops could see the demonic angel perhaps that lifespan was not so long.

“Then you can start by telling me just what sort of trouble you’re in and exactly what you think we can do about it.” Intense brown eyes stared at the seat, the seemingly pirate dressed guardian hovering towards it but lingered behind the chair, finger tips uneasily and hesitantly touching the backrest before those eyes searched the room once again. Just because no one seemed to take to a street runt doesn’t mean William let it get him down, Kaira made sure to offer him a place to hide when slave runners tried to round up more ‘cattle’ for their business, and being even remotely human gave off a scent that everyone seemed able to pick up. Kaira however was magically inclined and so even her human blood had the scent of power in it that was able to make the ‘taint’ be overlooked. People didn’t usually offer to help solve William’s problems and he couldn’t help but feel as if something was off there, even though the guardian knew full well that Summers was a decent man. Perhaps that’s what actually unnerved William about this place, for the first time in his life there were more decent people then just his own sister, and that was as strange as anything William could imagine.

"My troubles sir, are many, and few of which are easily solved. I think there is little you could do for me, but when one seeks help sometimes one does not expect a cure, just a shelter from the pain." That probably wasn’t really the reply Scott was egging for, so William didn’t pause and pushed on, his hands coming together as if to offer him a source of comfort. Though a strained thought was obviously being made, William’s eyes stuck upon the seat in front of him though still standing behind it and making no effort to actually sit just yet, his arms gradually moving to awkwardly cross over his chest before bravely lifting his eyes to meet the visor and force a small smile as he continued. "The truth… I have a twin sister, Kaira, and I am William, we are the Turner Twins." There they go, names are out in the open, honest, truthful, half expecting some demon or angel slaying arrow to fly in from nowhere to pierce Will’s heart as he spoke, but instead braved on trying to keep with the momentum and hope honesty doesn’t destroy what little chance he has to coming out of the shadows. "I am unsure what truths to speak and what things are important for you to hear compared to which you could do without. So sir, I beg your attention as I give a brief history lesson." A deep breath, discreetly taken and so slowly released, if it looked as if Cyclops was reaching for his visor then Will could just easily shimmer out at the first sign of panic, there was nothing really life threatening but that wasn’t the point… it was life changing, and that was something Will was going through a lot of lately and it was all so overwhelming right now.

"I am aware of your history, the X-men, Xavier’s dream and a great deal of what troubles you, your students and your school, it seems only fair I try and level the fields, as your kind may say." ‘your kind’ slipped out and snagged in an afterthought, but perhaps one way or another it will be discovered about their bloodline, they have demons in here and mutants who could sense other mutants, eventually someone will stumble over the fact that Will and his sister weren’t mutants, or entirely human for that matter. "Ok..let me try.. I am born to this world, actually not but a few hours from here. My parents were.." One of Will’s hands seemed to move from where it was folded and motion towards Scott, though in a gesture that seemed to be more for Will’s attempt to spill out the words that had caught themselves all tangled in his throat. "..uh, opposing forces one could say.. many cou-would say." A slight not, obviously speaking of what was often left unspoken. It was ridiculous really, Will had faced untold scrutiny and endless racism and here he was being tongue tied but one of the handful of less threatening individuals William has been forced to interact with his entire life. It brought on an almost frustrated feel, talking to someone like this ought to be easier but it wasn’t, and William didn’t intend on dragging it out any longer.

"My father is half human, but also half demon. My mother.. was.. a divine entity, an angel. I know you are familiar with such things and I hope that you will give me a moment more to continue." The tri-breed, that’s what some had called them when struggling not to be too outwardly rude, but as if half breeds weren’t bad enough for many to wrap their heads around, William and his sister were all three realms thrown together, like the innocent children they had been when thrown behind enemy lines. "After we were born one can image to chaos which followed, children with the blood of all three realms, we were unsightly as far as all others were concerned. Apparently we still are. Uh, our mother was a demon hunter, her identity concealed in a way that let her get close even to demons without being detected, our father did not know till after we were born. I assume our mother thought differently of the half breed, but after our coming he left and took a position in what is now an undisclosed source of burden upon your school.. and upon my mother when she tried to stop it’s forming." Ah yes, nothing like vaguely hinting towards ones own father for having been responsible for the death of their mother, but then again humans could be naïve, maybe thinking it was the company itself and not Cole who had slaughtered Imowen, their mother. But perhaps it was better for Scott to understand that Will had no fondness for his father, otherwise what sort of chance did William have when he explained it was his father who was heart bent on taking Wolverine’s children?

"It was..ooh, I’m not sure really, I guess 120 or roughly years ago, my sister and I were sent off to another realm, we didn’t exactly sit in one place long enough at first and so it’s hard to find people who remember when exactly we arrived." Apparently it had been something they, or at least Will, had tried by the tone of his voice, but the mixed breed had a feeling he was getting off track. If this was even remotely on track, Scott still had no idea why William was here and that was probably all the human wanted to know. "It was my father that drove me to the care of your healer all those months ago, we had just found our way back to this world and yet he seemed to have found out almost instantly. A slayer, Tasha, brought us here because she had said that here we could be safe. We dared not stay, nor tell the truth of who we were, already then you had suffered dealings with our father and we dared not bring any more upon you." But that was then, when walking away was simply the only answer their hearts could offer, now it was different, walking away wasn’t working, it wasn’t doing anything but delaying their confrontation with Belthazor.

"When we left, were eventually found by the ones who our mother served, they tried to recruit us too, yet we refused, we do not want blood upon our hands, not even that of our enemies. Instead however we were then approached for another faction, we have been given a duty to perform, which I agreed to take but denied to be fully involved in their faction, my sister on the other hand has devoted herself to it." Somehow now that it came to saying he was a guardian angel it just seemed absurd and instead William remained a little vague, but finished up with the first piece of truly vital information that William felt he could offer which replied directly to Scott’s question. "I’ve been around the school for a little while now, just a few weeks on and off, full time the last few days, my charge is here again and I must stay with her. I have agreed to help watch over your school, in particular my afore mentioned charge and her family, but who I have agreed to protect them from right now has been trying to vanquish my sister and I off for the last half a year." There, that was that, he was were, he was being head hunted, basically the next step was either ‘your welcome here and try to explain more’ or ‘get the hell out’, the latter being the more likely from what William was used to, but the former being what Will was told to expect, if not immediately then when they had some time to think about it. He had uneasily parted his lips to speak more but slowly closed them again, his eyes having drifted to his hat which still sat upon Jean’s desk. It would have been nicer to talk with Jean, even with all her other troubles she was still the motherly figure and it was something William never had, he knew it would have been easier to open up to her and her warm features instead of her husband and it’s stern exterior.

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
Why were things never simple? Scott listened to the young mans tale, learning that he was neither young or strictly speaking a man but rather some complicated hybrid of beings that most people didn’t even believe in never mind frequent. But still they were at Xavier’s institute and so anything was possible. Literally anything.

So Scott persevered, trying to make some sense of the story that was being so awkwardly told. Well it couldn’t be easy letting someone else, inside showing them the pain and confusion that had made up your existence. So Cyclops let the youth talk , extracting the facts where he could Tucking things away for further questioning later. Fact A name William Turner. And a twin sister Kaira. Place of birth? New York from the sound of things. Or at least somewhere not to far a way. Parents? Now that was where things started to come off the rails wasn’t it.

It didn’t fit neatly into the grand scheme of things when you had to put fathers profession: half demon and mothers : angel and demon hunter. No that was a complication with a capital C. he couldn’t help wondering how they had managed to come together this most unlikely of couples. It didn’t sound as if it had been a chance encounter or as if these children had been conceived through violence or rape. He didn’t quite know how it sounded to be honest and he wasn’t sure that William had any more light to throw on the subject either.

Still in the end although it was the most vital thing in the world to the children born of the union, the why and wherefore of it wasn’t something Scott’s clinical mind needed to know. It had happened. That was the fact. What he had to deal with was what implications it would have to the safety of the school. Already it had cost the woman her life if he read the signs correctly. And it had given these kids one tempestuous upbringing that was for sure.

He sympathised, knowing that he wasn’t understanding even half of the difficulties their mixed heritage had caused them but just as sure that he never would no matter how hard William tried to explain. It was like trying to tell a non mutant what it was like to be born with powers. They always thought they understood but they never really could, for they had never hurt someone just by looking at them or seen their children being spat at in the streets because they were different. So although Scott knew persecution and hatred he didn’t presume to think that he could share this young man’s pain. He just respected it and that was all anyone could do.

However now there was talk of threat, direct threat to the school from this mysterious father of theirs Turner. The name was familiar. Though until now the knowledge of his ancestry had remained hidden So Cole Turner was more than just a force to be reckoned with in Agamemnon Corporation He had part demon. Now that was a fact worth knowing. And a disturbing one at that.

Keeping his kids here wouldn’t be the most intelligent thing to do Scott reasoned. Especially not since he seemed to bent on removing them his life in the most permanent way possible. But then if you applied cold logic they would have to get rid of half the students and maybe all of the teachers as well Everyone carried their own personal baggage of hardship and memories And more often than not the past came with its own complement of enemies. Scott had his own. Mr Sinister, Apocalypse, more than he could count, all hell bent on destroying him and all he held dear. No it wasn’t his dangerous father that would cause him to hesitate over Williams future But these factions on the other hand…..

Cyclops waited till the young man had finished and stood looking at him as if he expected to be thrown out on his ear right then and there and then with a sigh he sat himself down in Jean’s chair . “Everyone has relatives their not proud of William” he said simply ”Who your father is or what he does wont be held against you or your sister. However I’m sure you’ll appreciate that there are other things that must be cleared up before we decide what to do next.”

“ This faction you work for. This charge you have at the Institute These are things I would like to here more about”

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
Brown eyes watched the face which seemed often to be carved of painted stone, expressive eyes hidden away and stern lips all that was left to offer any attempt of facial readings. William could see a little deeper though, not a psychic by any means, there was just a sense which William could pick up at times, unfortunately there was little he could gleam off the human other then a strong sense of thoughtfulness. A step forward was made by Will as Summers sank lower into Jean’s seat, almost as if the movement pulled William with him in an attempt not to be left behind. Reflexive and regrettable as William hesitated and lifted his thumb to awkwardly brush it across his lips and trying to look more relaxed instead of on his toes.

“Everyone has relatives their not proud of William” The mixed breed lifted his head a little, looking almost proud, as if bracing for an insulting remark but trying to ready himself so that when it hit it could roll off like rain on feathers. ”Who your father is or what he does wont be held against you or your sister. However I’m sure you’ll appreciate that there are other things that must be cleared up before we decide what to do next.” First instinct had William wonder what chores or requirements this mortal now desired to thrust upon him, but the afterthought was more logical as William considered that perhaps there were only questions which still needed to be raised and answered. Still, Will didn’t feel comfortable until Scott spoke his concerns, and then he found himself hesitating in thoughts.

“ This faction you work for. This charge you have at the Institute These are things I would like to here more about” It was like requesting secrets from an opposing team, regardless of the fact both sides were technically ‘good’, and William could almost hear the uproar of disapproval ringing in the distance. Or perhaps it wasn’t just his imagination, the way his bosses called him was distinctively different to common commands, mainly some sensation and a sound which vibrated across William’s entire being. Right now he just felt as if he was putting his hand in the cookie jar, while at the same time being fully aware that there was a video camera watching his every move.

"My affiliation prefers to keep its secrecy, I think I am forbidden to mention their name...and to be honest I do not think they have an actual name, that is a very mortal trait to name all things You would know of them, if only by the tales you tell your children." William started, his hand pressing flat against his chest with a thoughtful look as his eyes drifted down to think, his palm slowly brushing down his shirt till it hit his stomach and then dropped away to rest by his side. "…in any case, my charge is not necessarily one individual, I am assigned to guard Arisa Howlett and those around her, her brother Connor Enright, and to a lesser degree their sister Madison. My sister is watching over his highness Prince Arlen of the Mer-folk and in general we are to safe guard the school from any further demonic threats." Unlike Scott, Arlen had not hidden his royalty from the school, though he had not told the faculty till the start of this year when he had been talking with Jean for the first real time, the Headmistress wanting to see what issues where bothering the ‘youth’ as he started growing more and more depressed over the last few months.

"I am, to a great degree, this school’s demonic guardian angel." A gesture of his hand was politely offered along with a bow as William introduced his rank with a playful smirk, obviously toying with the word and knowing full well the higher powers were not fond of him acknowledging his demonic lineage. However a return to seriousness was immediate as William continued. "My father’s alliance seeks to obtain my charge and her siblings, as is quite obvious by now even to you, why I have not a clue, but those who carry the Wolverine’s blood are highly sought after, Logan himself included." William warned the teacher, though it would have probably been more appreciated had it arrived a year ago instead, but the twins had only been free for a few measly months, and dodging hunters every moment of that time. "The three at this school are not the only ones carrying Logan’s genes, there are others whom we are to protect from suff

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
It shouldn’t have come as a surprise that the mysterious faction didn’t want to be named but it didn’t make it any less annoying. Coming as it did shortly after the revelation of Riley Finn’s rescinded affiliation to another secret society this blithe announcement only served to deepen Scott’s concerns over the security situation at the institute. How many of the other students also had their own hidden agendas? And how was he to keep the others safe with so many secrets floating around?

And yet it didn’t seem that the youth was meaning to be irritating Or condescending for that matter though that’s how it sounded. “I do not think they have an actual name, that is a very mortal trait to name all things You would know of them, if only by the tales you tell your children." he informed Scott seriously. *So give me a clue *Cyclops thought cynically.* Because I’m pretty sure we’re not talking Care Bears here!*

And the surprises were far from over “ in any case, my charge is not necessarily one individual, I am assigned to guard Arisa Howlett and those around her, her brother Connor Enright, and to a lesser degree their sister Madison.”

Logan’s children! Kids who were almost as close to Scott as his own son. Singled out once again for preferential treatment by unknown forces. That wasn’t good Not good at all. No matter how well meaning this young man appeared to be. Caution kicked in transforming Cyclops from a teacher with a student to an X man faced with a potential threat, though for the moment he contented himself with listening to the continuing tale.

"My sister is watching over his highness Prince Arlen of the Mer-folk" William went on "and in general we are to safe guard the school from any further demonic threats.I am, to a great degree, this school’s demonic guardian angel." "

This was getting more fanciful by the minute Either that or a whole lot more dangerous than Scott could have imagined. Two…..beings sent to protect the whole school?? Were they really that powerful? Not if their record at keeping their charges out of danger was anything to go by. Ok Maybe Connor and Madison weren’t this guys prime ‘charges’ Ok so maybe he hadn’t been on the job for very long; But still……… kidnapping, being sold at auction, running away to follow some mutants sirene song of attraction, getting brainwashed……All in the space of a week?? If that was what happened when you had someone looking out for you then he dreaded to think what would happen if you didn’t.

Still the guy look pleased enough with himself so maybe his idea of saving someone from harm was different to that of a ‘mortal’.Though to give him his due he did get back to business pretty fast. "My father’s alliance seeks to obtain my charge and her siblings, as is quite obvious by now even to you, *Why thank you* Scott thought to himself “We may be slow but after countless kidnappings and experimentation yes maybe we are beginning to catch on.Now tell me something I don’t know.*

But it didn’t seem like that was going to happen. “ why I have not a clue, but those who carry the Wolverine’s blood are highly sought after, Logan himself included." *I would never have guessed that on my own now would I. I mean I’ve only been looking out for the guy for the past twenty years Or rather we’ve been looking out for each other* Friends Enemies Rivals They had been all that and more Teammates. And for an X man that said it all.

Then finally it came. One piece of information he would never have guessed in a million years and wasn’t even sure he could bring himself to believe though it shocked him to stillness all the same as he realised what it might mean if it was in fact true. "The three at this school are not the only ones carrying Logan’s genes, there are others whom we are to protect from suffering.” Now that was a bombshell though William didn’t even seem to be aware of the importance of what he had just announced. For Logan For Arisa For the whole family he was supposed to be protecting.

“I’m not sure I understand what you’re telling me” Scott’s said coolly though his emotions were far from calm. “Are you saying that Logan has more family out there somewhere? Family he doesn’t even realise exists? And that you know where to find them?”

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
“I’m not sure I understand what you’re telling me” William knew at that point that he said more then he had needed to at that point… but he couldn’t take it back, not now, he had to learn to stick to the subject at hand and not go into so much detail, this wasn’t a fine sword he was working on, it was people’s lives. “Are you saying that Logan has more family out there somewhere? Family he doesn’t even realise exists? And that you know where to find them?” At that comment William’s expression became confused and slightly unsure as he looked away thoughtfully.

"I can not say exactly.." William started rather evasively at first with a frown, "You can not ask such questions, there are rules, just as a doctor can not reveal things to a patient I can not reveal some things to certain people." How unfair did that sound? Not allowed to tell a person there was an additional member of their family… but the rule was one William understood, at least with the one member he was told to keep an eye on from time to time. "Though from what I have seen you will meet with this elusive member sooner rather then later, and it must be done at their own time, right now Arisa, Connor and Madison are trying to find their place and understand who they are and what they want. They need the attention of their father now, and they must be united before this new stone is thrown into their little pond." There was a thoughtful pause before William looked a little agitated.

"I was assign not too long ago to Arisa and her lineage, and I have now come to active duty, there are things I am still not told, or things I know half or less of. You have to understand, they do not trust us with our tainted blood, they do not think we can do our job, but look at how they have handled things, Arisa deserves more then what they have given her." It didn’t click at that point that William had diverted from the main issue, as far as he cared he gave the only answer he could and was now defending himself and his role in the lives of Logan’s children. "Connor needs stability and affection, Madison needs to discover herself and Arisa needs to have someone show her what she has been so blind to. She doesn’t remember or can’t see how much she is loved, you can not keep me from her, it is not your place, Arisa had called for me and only Arisa can discharge me, even if right now she has not seen my face." The ending sounded more mournful, as if he didn’t like the idea of being invisible to her. "I can not protect her if I am vanquished by my father’s ‘minions’." The guardian added more as if it was a thought he hadn’t considered.

"I of course mean no offence my sir, simply that you can not evoke me, and that I am bound to Arisa, forced to come to her call when her heart deems it necessary. But to protect her, I must also protect myself so that I am there when she is in need of me, and my sister…my Father became aware of Arlen via Arisa, and he seemed to have tried to obtain the mer-Prince’s enchanted blood I am told, and if Arlen is hurt then Arisa will be hurt..." William seemed to be off on his own trail of thoughts again and he tried to figure the steps of a very complicated plan, things were definitely not easy and keeping ahead of his father was going to be hard, but he wouldn’t let another family suffer by the hands of the man who destroyed Will’s family as far as the mixed breed was concerned.

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
The answers, if they could be called such, were more frustrating than illuminating, tantalising glimpses of information that could have been essential for his friends well being and that of his family, all shut up behind the young man’s increasingly incomprehensible honour code.

Some facts did slip through just the same. Logan did indeed have another relation out there somewhere. And by the sounds of things they weren’t too far a way. This was something Scott would look into with or without the permission of these mysterious ‘others’ who seemed to have intruded into the life of the institute in such a cavalier manner. Still it was galling to hear this stranger, angel , demon, whatever he cared to call himself, passing judgement on what should and should not be done as far as Logan’s kids were concerned.

“Arisa, Connor and Madison are trying to find their place and understand who they are and what they want. They need the attention of their father now, and they must be united before this new stone is thrown into their little pond."

Scott had taught diplomacy for a great many years. That was perhaps the only thing that kept him still and seated while William continued. "I was assigned not too long ago to Arisa and her lineage, and I have now come to active duty, there are things I am still not told, or things I know half or less of. *Well now I can’t begin to imagine what that feels like* Scott thought cynically.* It makes things difficult doesn’t it Well welcome to the club!*

“You have to understand, they do not trust us with our tainted blood, they do not think we can do our job, but look at how they have handled things, Arisa deserves more than what they have given her." Scott couldn’t help but give a small sigh. So these people had been ‘assigned’ in the full expectation that they would fail. That just made the whole situation that much more reassuring. Still Scott would say one thing for William He did seem to have a grasp on at least some of he problems the Enright”s wer facing. "Connor needs stability and affection, Madison needs to discover herself and Arisa needs to have someone show her what she has been so blind to. She doesn’t remember or can’t see how much she is loved.

Scott himself had had a similar conversation with Logan only a few days previously, urging him to set things right between himself and his children before he too woke up, as Scott had, and found that time had run out. But that was where the difference lay wasn’t it. He had seen the problem and talked to those concerned about it. Something he should perhaps have done long ago but certainly something he had earned the right to do after all the years of friendship that had gone before .Whereas William had just waltzed in and taken control. Where had these people been when Michele had died? Or when Conner and Madison had been snatched? Ok maybe that wasn’t strictly speaking Williams fault but it surely didn’t endear his superiors to Cyclops any more than William’s vague description of them already had.

And now the mystical creature was throwing oil on the fire. “you can not keep me from her, it is not your place,” he announced suddenly.*This guy really knows how to make himself popular*Scott thought grimly.*He’s lucky its me he’s dealing with and not Wolverine otherwise after a statement like that he might just have found himself with a very close view of those famous claws*.”

Arisa had called for me and only Arisa can discharge me, even if right now she has not seen my face." Hmm the first hint of mitigating circumstances! Coupled with the fact that William looked genuinely distressed about the whole business! Scott didn’t understand why he hadn’t introduced himself to Arisa though on the the other hand that wouldn’t have been an easy conversation to have either. He just presumed that non revelation must be another complicated rule that the guardian had to live by. Even if he didn’t look very enthusiastic about the idea of doing so!

"I can not protect her if I am vanquished by my father’s ‘minions’." Now that seemed pretty obvious from where Scott was sitting but it almost seemed as if the idea hadn’t crossed Williams mind before. And that was just something else which added to the danger of the whole situation. Even if Scott gave him the benefit of the doubt and accepted that this strange creature had in fact nothing but Arisa’s best interests at heart there were many factors that could actually make his presence more of a liability than a blessing. Not the least of which were these minions that seemed to be hunting him.

"I of course mean no offence my sir, simply that you can not evoke me, and that I am bound to Arisa, forced to come to her call when her heart deems it necessary. But to protect her, I must also protect myself so that I am there when she is in need of me, and my sister…my Father became aware of Arlen via Arisa, and he seemed to have tried to obtain the mer-Prince’s enchanted blood I am told, and if Arlen is hurt then Arisa will be hurt..."

It was an apology or something very like one. It was also a dawning realisation of how difficult this ‘appointed’ task really was. It was in the end something which Scott’s trained eye should have picked up earlier if the whole situation hadn’t annoyed him so much. A beginner’s admission that things were perhaps getting out of hand! And with that Scott did a quick rewind of the conversation, leaving his own emotions aside, listening instead to what had been said and not the manner in which it had been said Or the things that had been kept secret.

Children! Born of mixed heritage! And not the easiest one at that! Parents who instead of providing them with a loving secure environment slipped back somehow into confrontation and pain. To the extent that one killed the other! That wasn’t something you just walked away from No matter what your bloodline was. Follow that with rejection from both sides of the family and years, too many years or hardship and exile and maybe yes! You could understand them reaching out for a purpose. Seeking people who would welcome them! Even if from what William said the welcome was far from being wholehearted. Even if you were still kept on the side lines and in the dark!

This was better. Not good. Far from being the happy story that every child deserved but at least something that Scott could relate too. Here were the facts he had been searching for. The things he could work with. “This is all a bit much for you isn’t it” he asked calmly. “Everything that’s happening. The fact that you’re not sure if your presence will attract more trouble than it repels? That’s something we all go through in the beginning. And I’ll tell you now you can never be one hundred per cent sure of how things are going to turn out. But it does get easier. With time.”

He smiled then And yes I have taken in that you’re more than three times my age. But I’ve learned in my years at the institute that doesn’t always mean something. Different people age in different ways. What really counts is experience in the job. This is something, without meaning to offend, that you and your sister don’t really seem to have.”

There was no hostility in his voice now just a calm statement of fact, all his latent anger burned away by the realisation that the only way to make things better was perhaps to render these beings more capable of fulfilling the job that had been laid out for them. And if in the process he could save a couple of lost souls so much the better! Though that last though was maybe blasphemy if they were indeed ‘angels’ and lets face it this close to death blasphemy wasn’t something he really wanted to have on his conscience.

Too bad! He had sat here in the same room as this youth, and Scott still had trouble seeing him as anything other than younger than him, despite the beings admitted age, and he had recognised doubt and uncertainty. And those were the things he had spent all his life replying too. Maybe Cyclops wasn’t a guardian angel. He had still devoted his life to protecting the Institute and all those who resided within it And he wasn’t about to stop now.

I admit, I don’t like the fact that you have to keep certain things concealed from me” .he told William honestly” It leaves me like someone walking around in a minefield with a blindfold on. I too only want what is best for all the students here and you have left me crippled But I will try to respect your restrictions even if I don’t approve of them. Anymore than I approve of your, or rather your superiors handling of this situation. ”

It wasn’t a time for lies or deceit. Maybe that was something else that his illness had taught him. Each minute was precious. Every action could change the course of history, whether on a personal scale or a much grander one. No matter how insignificant that action may seem.

“So ,is that what we can do for you? Help you and your sister to survive your father’s attacks? Because if, as you claim, you know anything about the Institute you must know that we would do that even if you weren’t trying to protect some of our pupils. You may be a guardian angel but we have been trying to protect all those who have come to us for help for over twenty years now. Maybe we have what you lack Experience in the domain.”

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
“This is all a bit much for you isn’t it” While William liked being neutral he also had a passion that tended to push neutrality out the window if it was something important, and Arisa’s care meant everything right now, especially after she had come so close to death not so many weeks again… A death she had provoked with foolish actions and crushed heart, one that William intruded on despite not yet having been fully activated but his ‘trainer’ so to speak was willing to show them what was needed to be done in order to save her life and guide her back from the brink of her torment. Everyone was so convinced that William couldn’t handle the task at hand, his sister showing more devotion and acceptance at listening to their rules and demands that William couldn’t even say that it was entirely their lineage which put them off his own attempts. But being lectured by an older was humiliating enough, now a mortal was pointing out his faults? The defensive walls started building as William braced himself for the oncoming of the ‘maybe there’s something else for you’ or the ‘probably you aren’t cut out for this path’ or any other number of ways he has been talked to regarding the fact that he wasn’t cut from the same cloth as his mother. If anything, the attempts of the few who didn’t approve of allowing the Turner Twins to join their ranks had helped push and motivate William to try harder and think faster, just like back in the other world where he grew up.

“Everything that’s happening. The fact that you’re not sure if your presence will attract more trouble than it repels? That’s something we all go through in the beginning. And I’ll tell you now you can never be one hundred per cent sure of how things are going to turn out. But it does get easier. With time.” It was as if the words came from somewhere else, at least that’s the first thought that struck Will who was used to mortals being nothing more then cattle for flesh eating demons or servants for those who didn’t stomach them. Another aspect of this reality that William was both awed and grateful for, perhaps also a reason as to why William saw no fault in having the humans watched and guarded. It was all too clear however that they didn’t need decisions to be made for them and that they were a race able to choose their own paths, brought to their own destruction by temptation, arrogance or sheer ignorance.

"And yes I have taken in that you’re more than three times my age. But I’ve learned in my years at the institute that doesn’t always mean something. Different people age in different ways. What really counts is experience in the job. This is something, without meaning to offend, that you and your sister don’t really seem to have.” A brow was partially raised, another surprise as a human spoke not only with wisdom, but with age, and while William knew a little bit of everything from his odd jobs as an apprentice for various people who could afford to spare some room for him during his stay, he couldn’t say he was an expert on anything and didn’t feel the urge to. Save for his skills with the sword, but that was hardly something to brag about considering the people who lived in the area he now visited. The attractive mixed breed lowered his head slightly as if becoming submissive to the comment which had been brought forth.

There seemed to be no argument, no mocking gesture, no maliciousness to the statement, just simple fact of which Scott believed he could make out despite their short time of acquaintance… and he was pretty spot on regardless of what duration of time he had known William.

“I admit, I don’t like the fact that you have to keep certain things concealed from me” .Although William had looked up to listen to the former leader speak, the chocolate eyes had once again fallen away for a moment to show that it wasn’t something he was too proud of either, but the part breed forced himself to look back and try to keep eye contact as best as possible. ” It leaves me like someone walking around in a minefield with a blindfold on. I too only want what is best for all the students here and you have left me crippled But I will try to respect your restrictions even if I don’t approve of them. Anymore than I approve of your, or rather your superiors handling of this situation.” Sugar coating wasn’t exactly what William was used to, sure he saw it everywhere around him back in the other realm, but it was rarely bothered with him considering the places and people he lived or worked with, but William never cared for the upstart lifestyle and preferred his wayward path, as far as Will cared it was all just temporary, just a passing phase until they got home again. Perhaps if he had none it would have been so long before escape became possible then he wouldn’t have run away from the family that had found them, or more accurately he wouldn’t have hidden when they took his sister in and made her later promise not to tell the family of their relation. William had been able to play out pretending to be her former family’s servant and that they had been attacked and killed when they made an attempt to search for her home, it was really easy since that world didn’t have places people could actually go to ask such questions, they went around merely asking people and all William had to do was go to the most popular bar and then simply tell his tale of tragedy, murder and woe, a lie had been created and people fell into the story without realizing it. As soon as they heard Kaira’s name they would recall the story and so she was classed as an upper class citizen and offered a decent home and wealthy family. William had known of her desire not to be separated with him and how she would have preferred if he had relented and joined her, but he refused to join another family, but just because he wasn’t ready didn’t mean she had to suffer as well. It wasn’t the first time William’s actions have been shrouded in half truths and ones avoided all together, so he was no stranger to Scott’s uncertainty, at least this time it wasn’t a hostile suspicion.

Maybe we have what you lack Experience in the domain.” An excuse to stay here could be that his father was hunting them down, but was that all? There were places William could go and be somewhat safe, like the watchers council or the ultimate have, just go back up to the domain his superiors hanged around in. They had so much to offer here, and so many things that William knew of only because he was Arisa’s personal guardian, and then more secrets and tales revealed as he was asked to take on the mantle of the entire school, at least as a whole, one could not be expected to oversee so many individual souls.. but Will could try.

"My age holds no meaning, as you said, it is experience that defines us." And William was not one to pretend he knew more then he did when he was with someone who was just trying to help, but there was still a struggle to come to a decision which had delayed his reply for the moment. "I would be greatly honoured, and serve you well, if you allowed us the chance." It would be nice, to have a place that he could actually ‘mingle’, somewhere that he wasn’t forced to just sit aside and watch… a twist of the rules for sure but not something his superiors would have the ability to punish given the circumstances, like it or not, they wanted to believe that the children of their enemy may cause some hesitation or delay of any further attacks…or bring the monster out of its lair and into the open. "Under your care I will offer my services as best I can, both as a friend and a guardian, and anything you wish to know of us I will freely tell to you should you think it holds importance. As long as you understand there may be things I can not say simply because I do not know. And I would not mind your comrades knowing of my role, but may I ask secrecy otherwise?" The heaven sent ‘apprentice’ guardian requested, his voice falling to a curious calm, one which held a bubbling eagerness and contained excitement that wasn’t being allowed to boil over out of control. "We could blend in as mutants like yourself, we too have abilities," Falling into a detailed explanation of powers right now wasn’t really on William’s mind, just a sharing of the fact that they had something which would help blend them into the school should the need arise for them. It would be so much better if they could move about without people thinking they were any different from anyone else, it would be a chance for William to explore humanity, a strange thing which humans here respected, whereas back in the other realm it was barely spoken of. Plus, it would be nice not to stick out as they have done often in their lives.

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
His words appeared to have been taken in the spirit they were given as an offer of assistance rather than a criticism and for this Scott was heartily thankful. Nor was William to proud to admit that he possibly needed a little help with his newly appointed task, something which always made things easier to deal with. . "I would be greatly honoured, and serve you well, if you allowed us the chance." he said earnestly, almost prompting a comment from Scott that they were not asking him to make himself subordinate to them but rather to enter into partnership when he amended himself saying "Under your care I will offer my services as best I can, both as a friend and a guardian” bringing his vision of how their relationship should continue into line with Scott’s.

"and anything you wish to know of us I will freely tell to you should you think it holds importance. the seemingly young man offered As long as you understand there may be things I can not say simply because I do not know."

This was indeed progress. Scott was more than able to understand that perhaps William didn’t know or couldn’t tell every detail about his ‘employers’ or even about the enemies which threatened the Institute but even just to know they existed and, at least as far as these mysterious guardians were concerned, were involved in the everyday running of the school was better than running around in the dark as they apparently had been before.Any information he could provide them with would be a bonus and one that Scott was far from disdaining.

Besides beneath the new found eagerness to help he thought he detected something else in William’s demeanour that caused him to warm more to this most unlikely new student. A desire not only to help but to fit in! Perhaps he shouldn’t have been so surprised, after all Williams story, apart from the obviously supernatural elements that is, wasn’t so different from that of many of the young people who ended up at Xavier’s. A troubled childhood! A dysfunctional family! Tragedy and rejection Sadly elements which reared their ugly head time and time again when you were born different from those who surrounded you. For all the things that William might be able to offer them they could perhaps offer him a place w<here he didn’t feel like an outcast.

It was becoming more and more apparent that the same thought had crossed Williams mind. And I would not mind your comrades knowing of my role, but may I ask secrecy otherwise? he asked. It was a reasonable request and not the first time in the last week that it had been made. If they could keep Riley’s past history a secret then why not Williams unique origins? . "We could blend in as mutants like yourself, we too have abilities” “I’m sure we can work something out” Scott reassured him.” I don’t see the need for everyone to know exactly what you’re role here is. Though I do think it would be a good idea to tell Arisa and her family if you’re allowed to. But I won’t insist. You know better than I do what is acceptable and what isn’t on that score.”

Sometimes concessions had to be made if an understanding was going to be reached and there was no point in backing William up against a wall. That only lead to conflict and that wasn’t what Scott wanted. “We can provide you and your sister up with the same facilities as the other students, rooms, classes if you want them, training…”He gave a wry smile as he said that “I suppose the danger room isn’t a secret as far as you are concerned so you might as well make use of it. Anything that will help you in your mission! Or simply make you feel at home.”

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
“I’m sure we can work something out” Replied the mortal, who despite all facts William felt himself considering Scott as an elder instead of a man with few years… at least in comparison to William. “don’t see the need for everyone to know exactly what you’re role here is. Though I do think it would be a good idea to tell Arisa and her family if you’re allowed to. But I won’t insist. You know better than I do what is acceptable and what isn’t on that score.” Well…William did intend to meet with Arisa and talk with her when the time seemed right, or at least when it appeared like she was less troubled by everything that seemed to cave in around her lately. However it had yet to honestly occur to William about discussing his presence with Wolverine who would likely react in some negative form or another. It wasn’t actually the most pleasant of notions to turn up and say we’re here to protect your kids, it would make it sound as if the ‘higher up’ didn’t think Logan could tend after his own children. William wasn’t so brave enough to dare state such a feat with the infamous Wolverine.

“We can provide you and your sister up with the same facilities as the other students, rooms, classes if you want them, training…” Classes? To be honest William had never thought of schooling, the best education he had was what he learned as an apprentice, be it a blacksmith’s or some other odd job he picked up before and between his time in the smithy. Training, that was something that William found himself drawn towards, the X-men were a formidable group, their people taught and trained to be stronger then they once were, to stand above it all, to learn that once fallen one can still rise again… “I suppose the danger room isn’t a secret as far as you are concerned so you might as well make use of it. Anything that will help you in your mission! Or simply make you feel at home.” There was a polite curtsy of William’s head, the hint of a bow as if to signal that William both knew of the training facility of which Scott spoke of and appreciated the offer made of free access.

"I do fear such secrets are known, and appreciate you’re kindly offer." The mixed breed already felt great burden lift from his shoulders, though he didn’t realize how easily seen the ease in tension was, even in the soothed movements of his body language. "I have shown myself to Arisa before.." The part angel began with a more somber sense of emotion settling in. "Hm.. but I do not think she will remember me," After all, being on the brink of death and wishing so hard for it, only to then be dragged back to life and forced to continue on, her first reaction hadn’t exactly been all cheery and delighted. A slap in the face may have been the reaction she gave to William instead of a thank you smile or warm hug. "I do however intend to talk with her once things settle down, at the moment there are a few too many things happening to throw yet another issue her way.." A hand gently stroked William’s chin, the coming feel of his whiskers starting to roughen the surface which William had tended to earlier that morning with a sharp blade across his skin.

"I will keep you updated on my activities concerning the family…as with my own family.." The guardian added a little hesitantly at the end before breaking into a pleased smile as he continued. "Kaira is awkward around strangers, especially mutants, those who touch her have had their powers temporarily suppressed, though we are new to our abilities which came on our return here, so we know not how long it lasts." That wasn’t what he was smiling about, but he had something else on his mind, which he addressed a moment after, "But I would definitely seek to learn what knowledge flows within these walls.. do I simply request to join whatever interests me?" It seemed too easy and usually there was definitely a catch, but here Will wasn’t so quick to be cynical and judgement on things that seems too positive, at least not to the negative degree he had obtained back in the world he grew up in.

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
Things were easier now between them an Scott could see that he wasn’t the only one to feel that. Although the archaic mannerisms were still there, very much a part of who William was, he no longer looked as if he expected the discussion to turn into a confrontation. And that was all for the best. After all if he was going to be staying at the institute it was as well that he felt at ease. It may have been his duty to protect the students as he claimed but Scott knew that you always tried harder when the thing you were protecting was dear to you personally and there was no way William was going to form that kind of bond if they kept him shut out in the cold.

The idea of training in the danger room seemed to please him. It was after all the safest place for anyone newly come into their powers to hone their new found skills and Scott was reassured that his suggestion had been so readily accepted. Likewise the idea of making himself known to Arisa had also been taken into consideration although Scott had to agree that perhaps she wasn’t ready for another shock just yet. It might well be better till she got used to being back with a reunited family before adding yet another person to her entourage. Though if what William said was true it could well be that Logans clan was going to have a new member very soon.

Scott hadn’t forgotten about this mysterious relative whose existence William had referred too, far from it. Looking into the whole affair had jujust moved up to the head of his list of priorities but that was something he didn’t wish to draw William’s attention too. Not at the moment anyway."I will keep you updated on my activities concerning the family… William promised and for now that would have to be enough.

as with my own family.. Kaira is awkward around strangers, especially mutants,” *Now that’s not going to make things at all awkward, is it?* Scott thought with a silent sigh.*What better place for someone like that than a school full of strangers who all happen to be mutants. Its like a dream come true!* William on the other hand didn’t seem to be particularly worried about the situation indeed his face wore a pleased smile as he continued” .those who touch her have had their powers temporarily suppressed, though we are new to our abilities which came on our return here, so we know not how long it lasts."

Now that was interesting to say the least. If she could control the power then it could prove useful as well as disturbing. Sometimes having powers suppressed for a time could be a blessing. *Though only if its done by a common accord* Scott reminded himself thinking of the violation of Connors rights by Amlarie. *But still I’m sure there are times when Hank could find this really useful. Maybe we can get her to talk about that later……when she feels more secure….if she ever does.”*

William however seemed to be ready to get into the swing of things "But I would definitely seek to learn what knowledge flows within these walls.. do I simply request to join whatever interests me?" “That’s probably the best way to start” Scott said encouragingly. “You could sit in one some classes see which ones you like and then if you decide to go further, perhaps work towards some kind of qualification. That’s really up to you.Here. he reached left handed into Jeans’ desk and pulled out a list of the classes available "this should help you get a feel for what’s on offer . And as for the danger room……well wait till I get you a com link before you head down there. Otherwise you’ll set off the security system . “

At least that was how it was supposed to work. Scott wasn’t at all sure that demon angel hybrids were governed by the same rules as everyone else and to be honest he wasn’t sure he wanted to find out. After all it would just be one more security headache to add to Hanks ever growing list and the doctor had more than enough on his plate as it was.

"Ill get one set up for you later today." he told William "Maybe you should talk to your sister. See what she wants to do….Id be more than happy to have a chat with her if you think that would help her relax a little more. I cant do much about the fact that Im a mutant…. But I don’t have to be a stranger.”

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
“That’s probably the best way to start” School curriculum really wasn’t something Will knew anything about, so he was excited at being exposed to a new aspect of teachings and yet still nervous as to how he was expected to act or what he was expected to do. “You could sit in one some classes see which ones you like and then if you decide to go further, perhaps work towards some kind of qualification. That’s really up to you.Here.” It was out of habit that Will watched cautiously as a hand went out of view, it wouldn’t be the first time that someone seemed all sweet and nice and then pulled out a nasty threat to rid themselves of Wills presence… Granted most of the time they were shifty crooks trying to frighten William away so they didn’t have to pay for his finely crafted blades. The sheet of paper came into view and drew all of Will’s attention as mixed breed eased himself a little closer so he could reach out and take hold of the offered sheet. "this should help you get a feel for what’s on offer . And as for the danger room……well wait till I get you a com link before you head down there. Otherwise you’ll set off the security system ." Chocolate eyes peered over the sheet, feeling it best to let the comment slide at the moment regarding William setting off alarms. It was ok in some ways because he could tell when anything demonic was within the school grounds, even if all he got was a foreboding sense overcome him, other times he knew who they were where they where and what they were up to, if he was lucky, but his higher contacts rarely offered all the information William felt he required. Whatever happens William and Kaira were in the process of discussing supernatural alarms to help stop the recent invasions of privacy the school has had, though even Will wasn’t aware of them.

"Ill get one set up for you later today." A badge, the thought was uplifting and caused the mixed breed to give a content look around the office as he adjusted to the thought of knowing being a part of the school… and of everything it stood for, as well as a guardian, who would have thought. "Maybe you should talk t your sister. See what she wants to do….Id be moe than happy to have a chat with her if you think that would help her relax a little more. I cant do much about the fact that Im a mutant…. But I don’t have to be a stranger.” There was obviously a misunderstanding there, Kaira was awkward but she was not afraid, William carefully folded the sheet of information, which Kaira would be better educated to read as she excels in the human written language where William was for the most part self taught.

"Humans in general are.. lower class citizens where we grew up, my sister merely has been raised not to associate with them," Although for William it was common knowledge and the level of sympathy was lacking a little since it was something he had obviously become desensitised to it. "My sister had been raised by a proper family which had adopted her, I grew up on the streets and took residence with those who I worked for," Only as William finished speaking did he realize the connection of him living within the walls of the school he was assigned to, but surely it hadn’t been merely out of habit which drove William to desire a place within these walls to call his own place of rest? "Which has permitted me more contact with the mortals of our realm. Mutants were considered unstable, families of the higher class considered them pests and usually shipped them to the stockyards or markets." If they weren’t just killed outright, but William figured honesty should only be offered so much, and Will definitely didn’t want to put his sister in poor light, she wasn’t as bad as all that but she was still awkward nevertheless.

"Kaira considers humans rather fragile creatures who are chaotic and undisciplined, much like children, she has yet had the experience to form a proper idea, but she is a wonderful woman. I should just warn you she tends to mother humans… or anything that breaths, even I!" William offered a cheerful gesture of his arms before scooping up his hat and placing it upon his head, a hand resting comfortably on the hilt of his sword once again. "In regards to your security we humbly request to discuss setting up more sophisticated means in which to keep intruders out who may have the ability to… slip past your technology. Kaira is with some ideas on the matter." William finished off trying to show his twin had a good head on her shoulders despite the upbringing which would definitely not be the best attitude to have when dealing with angst teens really… but unlike William Kaira was content on keeping her distance and just watching them from afar.

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?

"Humans in general are.. lower class citizens where we grew up, my sister merely has been raised not to associate with them," Behind the visor Scott blinked, schooling himself nonetheless to keep his emotions from showing. Such condescension. It seemed to be the young mans speciality even if Scott suspected that he didn’t fully realise how the casual declaration sounded. *Dear lord he should put diplomacy class high on his must do list. If he doesn’t want to offend the entire school that is*

In any case William didn’t seem at all phased by the stark racism he was describing. "My sister had been raised by a proper family which had adopted her, I grew up on the streets and took residence with those who I worked for.Which has permitted me more contact with the mortals of our realm.”* What a stroke of luck* Scott thought cynically. *That will no doubt make associating with us easier. Then again we’re not even human are we? Do I even want to know what mutants were treated like on your world? * In the end he wasn’t given the choice and the answer was as bad as he feared. “Mutants were considered unstable, families of the higher class considered them pests and usually shipped them to the stockyards or markets."

There was a quiet stillness that settled over Cyclops, a self imposed detachment which allowed him to listen to the horrors being described without outward signs of anger. Inside things were very different. So many years of Scott’s life had been devoted to trying to integrate mutants into human society. They had fought in courts and in the media as well as on the streets, all with the intent of winning rights and considerations which normal humans took for granted. And there was still such a long way to go. But this………

All right, just scant days before they had intervened precisely to stop mutants being sold like animals. But that was the exception rather than the rule. Yes there was gross mistreatment of mutants and at least part of it was condoned by the government Still was nothing like the casual abuse William was describing. And he and his sister had apparently accepted it.Admittedly they had spend the greater part of their lives in a world where it was taken for granted. It was only to be expected that some of the ideas might have rubbed off on them even if they disapproved What did make him deeply angry was that these were the people who apparently had been judged to have the moral authority to guard Arisa and Arlen. These were the so called angels.

"Kaira considers humans rather fragile creatures who are chaotic and undisciplined, much like children, * Well inferior races tend to be like that don’t they. It comes from being less intelligent. We’re so fortunate to have you both around to look after us.* Scott could feel the beginnings of a headache starting so hard was it not to explode and let his anger show.Im damned if Im going to let this guy push me into an attack he told himself determinedly. *He’d just see it as confirmation of weakness Not that he’s even trying to upset me. Scott could see that clearly enough. *Which is maybe even more worrying For him he’s just stating how things were and how his sister is.. Looks like he doesn’t even understand how hurtful his words are And I have no intention of showing him.*

So the mask stayed firmly in place as William went on describing his sister, even if Scott’s mind raged.. “she has yet had the experience to form a proper idea, but she is a wonderful woman. I should just warn you she tends to mother humans… or anything that breaths, even I!" What was better? Being despised or patronised? Scott wasn’t sure but he knew he didn’t like either one. And neither did the majority of the people at the Institute. Even operating with the best intentions this Kiara was a time bomb waiting to go off. A time bomb with the ability to neutralise peoples powers any time she didn’t like what they said or did. And her brother was the only chance they had to defuse her.

"In regards to your security we humbly request to discuss setting up more sophisticated means in which to keep intruders out who may have the ability to… slip past your technology. Kaira is with some ideas on the matter."

Deep breathes They were definitely in order. Take the offer as it was meant. Co operation. Get them talking at least then maybe there would be a chance to teach them that things were not as they had been brought up to believe. That humans and mutants may not have the blood of angels in their veins but that didn’t make them any less worthy.Or any less capable to handle their own lives. Education. That was Scott’s business wasn’t it. And these two beings desperately needed some. So he dug down deep into his reserves of calm and started the process. “Thanks” he said “I’d be glad to hear her suggestions. In fact like I said I feel it would be a good idea all round if she dropped in for a chat. Do you think you could set that up?

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
“Thanks” Curt and to the point, but William was used to such swift gratitude, very rarely did anyone other then his sister offer deep felt thanks, not unless it was praise for a finely crafted sword. “I’d be glad to hear her suggestions. In fact like I said I feel it would be a good idea all round if she dropped in for a chat. Do you think you could set that up?" With an affermative nod, William let his eyes get distracted with the decor of the office, the faces which Jean filled the walls of her room with. All the students were important to them, each and everyone had a right, a place... even the homeless had a right here, a chance, and a real chance, not having to lie or cheat or steal.

Chocolate eyes peered at the window as the yells of students reached even Jean's office from the outside when they got roudy and over excited. "Of course, I could call her here right away if you so desire.." The mixed blood agreed, his body gravitating towards one of the windows on the wall behind Jean's desk. Looking out into the grounds William could see a group of students enjoying themselves, filling up their bottles with water and splashing each other.. It seemed pointless, the day was not even warm enough to warrent the need of water to cool them down, yet they were laughing still.

"..This may be our world, but it differs so greatly to the one we grew up in." It seemed like William was mostly lost in his own private thoughts, despite trying to open up in his own way. He wasn't a fool, he knew there would be a big culture clash, he knew there would be things he expected to be the normal which they weren't used to and vice versa. As far as William was concerned, this was a slice of paradise, granted it had its problems, but it still had good sides, which made this world worth fighting for.

Re: Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
Far from fighting the idea William seemed to accept it readily. In fact it seemed to Scott that the young mans mind had already gone on to other things ."Of course, I could call her here right away if you so desire.." he answered helpfully but it was clear that his attention was being drawn towards the pictures that filled Jeans office. Scott tried to see them through William’s eyes all those happy young faces, students, friends, family. Everything that William had never known in fact, from what he had told Scott.

Now he had moved to the window, looking down on the laughing youngsters outside with barely disguised longing. Whatever else he may have been there was a large part of William that was just like them wanting to run and play, free at least for a little while from the burden of his heritage and responsibilities. That was the part that needed to be nurtured, Scott knew that. The intrinsic humanity that still lingered despite his supernatural origins and tortured upbringing. And that humanity was so close to the surface.

It was clear that William wanted to be a part of all the enthusiastic life he could see going on around him. His desire to do so shone in his eyes and coloured his words"..This may be our world, but it differs so greatly to the one we grew up in." he whispered. Yes it does Scott answered gently. And from what you told me that’s a good thing. Give yourself time You’ll get used to it. In fact…….. Scott rose and approached the window himself “We can get together with Kiara tomorrow. Say around twoish in my office?? For now…. He looked down at the happy scene below and smiled. Why don’t you go down and join them?. They don’t bite you know. Consider it your first lesson as a student at Xaviers Institute.

"Yes it does Scott answered gently. And from what you told me that’s a good thing. Give yourself time You’ll get used to it. In fact…….." Time? There was no time needed to appreciate this, William already did... though perhaps relishing this world and getting used to it really were two different things. How had they survived so long away from this place? How would they have turned out had they stayed? From the looks of things since their return it was highly doubtful they would have survived long enough to learn about this world and all its highs and lows.

"We can get together with Kaira tomorrow. Say around twoish in my office?? For now…." The mortal spoke whilst approaching the window beside William, causing Will to momentarily look away to study the man's features. How fragile humans were, and this one in particular, and yet how strong they were in spirit, in so many ways that was what set them apart.

"Why don’t you go down and join them? They don’t bite you know. Consider it your first lesson as a student at Xavier’s Institute." Deep pools of chocolate hue seemed to snap back at the other man, surprise obviously in them before William rather shyly looked back down at the group and then off to the photos on the walls.

"Yet another difference between our worlds Sir, our attire does differ greatly." Was that an excuse or was Will just conscious on how he first introduced himself? Probably a mixture of both, not that William was generally a shy man, but he was definitely awkward around new situations at times, though he tended to breeze through it with a calm facade."I shall find my sister and arrange for a new set of clothes for us both, tomorrow we shall arrive at two fresh and prepared." William gave a hasty bow, one which probably showed a slight anxiety though William also appeared rather eager to get the ball rolling despite his nerves.

"There is always tomorrow, today I must make sure Arisa is well guarded, I also must grow familiar with Connor and Madison, I have a report due in a few days on how they are all coping." Attention suddenly shifted, William becoming alert and focused as he looked outside the window and shifted his gaze to the sky. A sulk crept over his features soon after, though William quickly regained his composure and offered Mr Summers a weary smile.

"I'm being summoned, it was a pleasure to meet your acquaintance, if you ever have need of me, merely call my name and I shall answer, farewell." A tap of Will's fingers against the rim of his hat was offered as well as a slight bow of the head before William hurriedly shimmered off, his body breaking apart in a brilliance of bright white and fluorescent blues.

Re: Monday: 19th - Jean's Office: Secrets Revealed?
There had been a moment when he actually thought that William would take him up on his idea but then it passed. Or rather they young man let it pass. Maybe it had been too much too soon, going from watching to participating. But William had looked tempted at least and that surely had to be a good sign. For now thought he threw up all the reasons why he shouldn’t go down and join in the fun, building them up into a nice little barrier behind which he could hide and be safe.

Scott recognised the procedure he had used it many times himself. He had always been the serious one, the one who watched from the sidelines as the others played or partied. Because of his power. That’s what he had always said and it was in many ways true. It only took one slip of his glasses and all hell broke loose but …he could have got round that. He had had his visor after all. It would have kept the others safe and set him free to have fun. Except he hadn’t really known how! Where others had seen detachment and coldness there had really been awkwardness and self doubt. He had stuck to the rules because they were what he understood and in the end they had become his speciality.

Now listening to William talk of clothes and meetings and all the things he simply had to do Scott couldn’t help but feel sympathy for him. He only hoped that the undoubted responsibilities the young man carried wouldn’t crush the spark of enthusiasm that he had seen in his eyes as he looked at the other students. Despite the technical fact that William had existed for hundreds of years he still seemed very young to Scott only one step away from a childhood that had been less than ideal. It still wasn’t to late for him to grab the tail end of it and wring as much happiness out of it as he could. And Scott was determined to help him try.

Though his mysterious superiors didn’t seem to be so obliging. "I'm being summoned, William announced suddenly with a sigh. it was a pleasure to meet your acquaintance, if you ever have need of me, merely call my name and I shall answer, farewell."

It wasn’t the first time a student had winked out of existence in front of Scott but somehow it was something you never quite got used to Especially if you weren’t expecting it. When the last glittering light had disappeared Scott sat back down, rubbing his neck to try to persuade the headache to go away though he knew there was little chance that it would take the hint. Thinking about his encounter and the implications of it for Logan and the school in general he reached one inevitable conclusion. It wasn’t going to be the last headache the twins were going to cause him that was for sure.
