Monday, April 2nd: Our Demons in the Shadows
Since everyone was asleep at this time, Spike was content walking the halls with his bowl of cereal, not the most pleasant of kind by the common man’s opinions, and Spike was aware how blood soaked weetbix had a tendency to make others gag… even if it was coated in sugar. Another spoonful was slipped into his mouth, the pale features drifting towards his room, now that he was feeling better Hank allowed him back to his old room, and Arisa got to sleep in her on room. Which was both good and bad… Spike was missing the company but glade the girl wasn’t treating him like a sick child needy of her attention. Ok, so maybe he had somewhat been, but it was good to be over that anyway…

Talia had been on duty tonight, leaving Spike to muse over the thought if she sent beast off due to his over worked schedule, the fur ball did look a touch more tired then usual… Another mouthful was chewed thoughtfully as Spike wondered over Hank, thoughts soon drifting over towards Jennifer and heck, even Draven and that pansy-man vampire, Angel. Wonder if Ro’s asleep, It wasn’t the first time the thought had come since Spike had wondered from his room, considering the dream he’d had of her… well any man would be tempted to go find her, whether they had hot blood or not. And while Spike wouldn’t have followed through with it, he did let his mind wander off with thoughts of how he’d go there, how he’d talk and charm his way into her room, into her arms, into her bed… if they made it that far.

While it was still dark in the halls, Spike could have sworn he saw something sneaking out of one of the rooms, sleeking their way through the darkness to the door across from them and slipping into that room. And for a few moments Spike believed that it was just another student… one that probably shared Spike’s sentiments towards some particular other, but wasn’t holding back. And that thought would have remained had the scent that remained in the hall not lingered, a demonic perfume that tingled the vampire’s senses. It wasn’t that annoying vampire who also shared residence here, but was someone else, something else. Moving towards the door, Spike glanced between the two, it could be another guest though, and how humiliating if Spike charged in… it could also be inside Spike’s head, again… humiliating… Moving to the other door, the one this figure had left, Spike knocked softly, but the door wasn’t locked, and with no reply he pushed it open.

A finger flicked on the light switch, the temperature inside was cooler then in the hall, and Spike noticed it was because the window had been shattered, a student lay slumped on the floor, alive and not seemingly hurt, but unconscious. "Oh bollocks," The bowl was tossed aside in the room, the vampire’s body turning about and darting for the other door, which was opened as he approached, a startled figure pausing midstep out of the other room before stepping back and slamming the door on Spike’s approach. "Get out’ere you pansy-!" A hand was moving to the communicator that sat attached to his belt when a force struck him hard from behind, shoving the vampire hard into the door. How could humans not smell the demons approaching when they get attacked? The scent wafted around Spike like pollen, thick on his nose as the humanoid demon pressed the vampire firmly against the door. Which soon enough opened to let them tumble in, closing behind them in an obvious attempt to keep the struggle out of sight.

There was a girl in the room, she hadn’t even stirred from bed at the intrusion into her room before she seemed to have been somehow subdued, leaving her motionless in a heap of tussled blankets and pillows as Spike fought to wiggle free. A cold steely feel pressed firmly around Spike’s neck, a clicking sound was heard and the distinct hum of electronics. Shoved to the ground, the two stepped away, leaving Spike confused as to what they had placed on him, What the bleedin’ Christ is this thing? the thought barely presented itself with a baffled growl before a sharp shock seemed to explode down the spine and echo inside his head. It would explain why the kids were subdued so easily, slip a collar on and push a button and instant pain induced sleep. The fact the collars main function was to subdue the mutant x-ene as well was still unknown to Spike who just snarled indignantly at the intruders and let out his demonic visage in a fit of anger.

"Now you’ve pissed me off," It seemed despite their demonic origins, the fact Spike was a vampire had surprised them… which seemed to just irritate Spike more, it was one thing getting shoved around by someone, another thing totally to get shoved about by demons who don’t even realize a vampire when they see one! One of them turned and ran, though Spike didn’t get the sense of fear from the demon that fled, both of which appeared to be wearing a body armour of sorts, with a sleek black helmet covering their faces. His hand pressed against the communicator as the other demon crouched, readying for Spike’s attack, or waiting for a chance to strike Spike off guard.

"Rogue," The name was clear, precise, Cerebro linked him right through to her and had his voice calling her name out on the other end of the line, "Wake up, I just found two stinking demons-" One of which lunged at the vampire while speaking, though Spike grabbed at the figure and spined about, letting go to send the demon toppling off into the girls study desk. "-lurkin’ the bloody halls, one of the piss-ants ran off," Spike picked up the remaining demon by the helmet, his movements fluid and fast compared to the lower demon who struggled, there was a sickly snap as the neck was twisted hard and the body jerked slightly before going limp. "Are you hearing me Ro’? They put a freaking collar on-" If Rogue was listening or about to reply, Spike wasn’t sure, the lines went dead as the siren went off, screaming off throughout the school, alarms and warmings taking priority over the communication system. With a growl Spike didn’t try to see if Rogue had gotten his message or not, she’d definitely figure out something bad was going on, he focused now on chasing down that other demon.

TBC: Anyone, students or X-men or anyone walking the halls.

Any who enter this thread will fight their way to the outer grounds, where they are free to escape if they want, or join the outside fights.

Re: Monday, April 2nd: Our Demons in the Shadows
(OOC: Space-hamsteresque beginning and minor god-modding... let me know if you want me to edit, Angie!)

The most popular theory about dreams states that they are the brain's way of processing information it put on its to-do pile during the day, freeing capacity for more important things like coming up with a way to cheat at some maths test or understand differential calculus, whatever that is. Others prefer to think of them as cryptic messages that are to be interpreted. Rogue, however, had long since realised that in most cases, dreams were entirely random. After all, she hadn't really have to deal with fluffy bunnies and guinea pigs in a long time, and chances were their symbolic value was rather negligible.

Humming the new song from the Mr Nutty Jelly Goodness ad, she grinned childishly, rolling around in her bed every once in a while as her dream-self innocently cavorted about with all sorts of fluffy talking animals. An all too familiar voice calling out her name was easily included in the song as Mr Nutty's head was replaced with Spike's. He really wasn't a bad singer either, she thought in the confusing state shortly before waking up. The lyrics were just really strange...

"Flamingos took over the cabbage patch!" she shouted, and the institute's alarm went off. Rogue stared at the ceiling, frowning for a few seconds before remembering where she was and what that obnoxious sound meant. "Sh!t." The curse was rather a mutter than an exclamation as she hastily put on her uniform. Grabbing the com badge, fragments of the dream floated incoherently through her mind. Following a hunch, she pressed the button and had Cerebro give her Spike's current location. Demons infiltrating Xavier's - that was not at all far-fetched. What they wanted with dog collars eluded her at this point, but that something was on could not be denied. And the vampire's unusual whereabouts at least meant that he was involved in some way.

"Alarm, incoming at Exiles dorms!" Rogue had just taken off when Circe's message was put through. So this was more than just some small break-in. It had been a strange hope to resort to anyway. The Institute was guarded by one of the best security systems out there. Chances of some common burglars managing to get past it were about as high as Storm getting a nose job done. The latter had just confirmed Garnet's message when the southern belle arrived in the area in which Cerebro had detected Spike's com badge. And sure enough, she heard him shouting obscenities not far from there. "Always the charmer...," she mumbled, torn between amusement and irritation at his lack of subtlety. Then again - as she had to admit - the X-Men didn't exactly know her to be all sneakiness and discretion either.

Airborne, it took her but a moment to catch up to her lover. "Fancy a lift, sugah?" the absorption mutant asked, and without waiting for a reply, grabbed Spike to continue a little slower to not accidentally overtake whoever he was chasing. "You lead, ah steer... just remind meh what we're huntin' again? I didn't quite catch tha'." The playful demeanour concealed serious concern. This was the first major alarm they had had in a long time... and those never meant good news.

For everyone comes the time when they have to take over responsibility. It stands to argue whether there is also a time when they can get rid of it again.

Re: Monday, April 2nd: Our Demons in the Shadows
Sleep had deemed Kylora beneath it to visit that night for long spits of time. It wasn't a terribly uncommon thing for her to not only get a few hours of sleep before sitting up wide-awake at the earliest hour of the morning possible. Though she'd been at the X-Mansion for quite a while, a part of her--the part that had been on the run for so long--still insisted that she only have little bursts of sleep before becoming as wide awake as a two year old that had just been given three shots of espresso. She had tried the internet chat rooms. A few had been interesting, but it wasn't enough to enthrall her. She had tried drawing..Painting had finally appealed to her most during the wee hours of the morning. The green-eyed girl had started painting a picture of Dave, the Brit that she'd gone out for ice cream with. She was painting by memory alone, but man, oh man, was her memory vivid!

It was about the time that she was dipping her paint brush into a brilliant blue that the elfin beauty got the strange feeling that something was not right. A quick check of the grounds through her connection with the plants made her gasp, dropping her paintbrush to the floor, the paint splattering onto the drop cloth that she'd laid down to protect the hardwood against spillage and the blue jeans she'd donned since she had wandered down for a snack in the kitchen when she had first awoken and couldn't get back to sleep. She had just grabbed the backpack she'd kept packed in the closet out of habit (full of everything she'd need to run away if the place ever proved to be no longer safe) and was putting it own when the alarms went off.

"Crap!," she yelled when her door was kicked open by some black-armoured figure that looked like he'd stepped out of a horror movie where black ops guys raid a school, trying to take out as many students as possible. The figure had clearly not expected her to be out of bed and alert enough to get into a fighting position. It was automatic by now that she try to run past him in his confusion, but he was fast and grabbed at her, holding her from behind in a bear-hold. The helmeted goon was just reaching for some sort of collar when a bright green flash erupted from her protective leaf amulet, sending the goon flying into the far wall. She'd almost forgotten about that thing. She thanked her lucky stars as she grabbed her backpack with the uniform that had been knocked on top of it during the fight (it had been laying on her dresser when the pack had slipped to the floor once the goon had grabbed her) and bolted out the door in time to see Rogue flying with Spike in her arms down the hall.

"What's happening?!," she shouted as she followed them, clutching her uniform and cursing in her head for not taken the time to pack the darn thing in her backpack before all this had started.

Re: Monday, April 2nd: Our Demons in the Shadows
The sound of Rogue’s incoming wasn’t picked up until she was almost on top of the vampire, and Spike barely had enough time to brace himself as a split second later he realized what she was about to do. "Fancy a lift, sugah?" Like he had a choice, her arms were about him in an instant, not that Spike minded really, though it was an odd move to make… Than again it was nice to have her close to him, to have her arms about it, though it didn’t seem the correct time to think of it all, but then again when was Spike ever one to be led by what was correct?

"You lead, ah steer... just remind meh what we're huntin' again? I didn't quite catch tha'." The demonic visage faded away as Rogue spoke, he didn’t want it to really, not when the target was still so close and danger not yet done with. His hand just motioned agitatedly towards where the other charged off. "Demons… but they didn’ know what I was, they did’ave human scents on’em too, an other more offensive scents," Vampires could sense other vampires, the stronger the vampire the greater the range of the radar, other demons weren’t always so accurate but still, they usually could sense something…Then again, Spike wasn’t aware how Belthazor obtained soldiers from more then just this dumension. "Even though it was plainly obvious who an what I am, nerve o’those stupid clueless-" The rant was cut short as something else caught his attention, or so it seemed till it swiftly continued though more agitated as Spike clenched his fists and glared hard at the target they hurriedly approached, his thoughts the only distraction for now and called out, "-bloody pansy!" It didn’t seem enough to pour his anger on the demon who had helped put a collar around Spike’s neck, what it was for, what it did, why it was there, none of it yet sank into Spike’s thoughts, all that mattered was that it was put there like he was nothing but some dog.

The speed was swift, both Rogue’s and the thing they were chasing, but Rogue was quicker, no doubt, she could go even faster and Spike was sure of that, but it was good that she wasn’t going full speed, he could listen and smell and glare and swear… Suddenly Spike wiggled slightly, a discomfort seeming to have settled for the briefest of moments before distracted only by the voice that called out nearby, young and unfamiliar. "What’s happening?!" As always Spike wondered if this was a student who was aware of him, was he just another face she’d seen around the school, a complete stranger, or did she hear whispers of who he was, how he came to be here, at first students who had known had been told to keep it to themselves… but it’d been almost a year since then. Squirming returned though, again it was brief, again they were distracted, the sound of a force against glass screamed in William’s ears and suddenly the mind associated it with one of many war movies… oh Spike hated those movies.

"Wait," It was just then that had Spike felt it, that wave so potent that for a moment it felt as if he was ripped from one world and thrown back into the old one he had left. It felt like a sudden crowd had gathered and pressed it’s way into his psyche, cramming as much info as possible and shoving out all over trivial matters. "You need your hands free to deal some hurt," Arms yanked free of Rogue’s hold before she had much time to think on what he said, his struggle to freedom one more of agitation, though it’d be difficult for them to know, disorientation was all that greeted the vampire though, a few stumbling steps hinted to some sort of confusion. And that confusion was barely cleared even with a fierce shake of his head, talk about migraine! Further ahead there was the thudding of feet on the stairs, the demon was half stumbling half leaping down to get to the closest designated safety point. If it would even be set up yet the demon wasn’t sure, Balthazar only had a few able to open gateways into the school itself, with the largest opening vortex in the front yard of the school, letting a stream of soldiers to pour in avoiding the outer security systems till inner ones were tripped.

Fingers reached for the slender silver collar clasped about his neck, he’d been hunted long enough to know it would be risky to try and touch it, in the past touching those sort of things would usually end with an ‘ow’. This was real, this wasn’t just another thing in his head it couldn’t be, and surely he wasn’t so lucky. Damn it all, whatever was happening was not right, definitely, utterly, freakishly and creepily not right, and Spike was positive that for once this feeling wasn’t derived from his own mind.

"These prissy sons of bitches," The siren’s were so loud, the sense of mobs of demonic entities suddenly appearing, it was all so much that it felt surreal, and for a moment he wanted to think he might have been fortunate enough to be asleep… Until his other hand lifted to finger the collar absentmindedly and a sharp shock zapped through him. The intensity would have sent most with average to less pain tolerance to shudder and cringe, childs play as far as Spike was concerned and he barely flinched save for a grimace of pain around his mouth. It had been a few days since Spike had returned to his normal self, well as normal as a soulled vampire could be anyway. And yet since then it seemed his grasp on his tempter was as lucid as his grasp on his sanity at times, it seemed as if his temper flowed more readily then it used to. "What th’hell is goin’? How dare’ey come’ere like’is! How can we get the students outta’ere quickly? I ain’t lettin’ it all happen again, not’is time!" There was a flare of anger rising again more hateful as Spike looked torn between thrashing run away demons and helping confused students who seemed to be rushing into the halls by the sounds of things, some were shouting orders… others were just shouting. Spike knew Rogue would be confused, smashing and bashing was first, always, then thought, especially when Spike was angry, but it was another line entirely of thoughts when fear was in place, and now was a right time to be worried, even if he refused to let any of these kids see it right now. A bear hand solved the problem of wasted time explaining things and merely let his fingers touch against Rogue’s cheek, his eyes focused on the other girl, the younger one who had arrive, thoughts, feelings, knowledge flowing from him into Rogue as Spike spoke to the other.

"What ever happens nibblet, you’re to stay with Rogue or myself, we’re gonna grab as many students as possible and head outta here, don’let anything stop you from followin’ us," But he was no mastermind, he could throw orders about sure, anyone could really, but what if he said the wrong thing, no… he’d screwed up before enough and Rogue would know what to do, she had to, and right now he wasn’t going to rush off to bash a head or two in the name of pride when this was scarily more then what it seemed at first… this wasn’t some annoying little hot headed duo showing off, this was a full on invasion, and last time Spike saw the school get invaded… too many people had died, and that included Arisa, Storm… Fuzzball McCoy! Not as quick as the others, driven insane by the knowledge of failure, by the sense of loss! Now longer any semblance of man remained, pure beast, with pure hate and bloodlust to drive every inch of that monster he had become!

Re: Monday, April 2nd: Our Demons in the Shadows
Wherever Kylora looked, chaos reigned. A lesser person might have had their wits addled. Ms. Chambers, however, took everything in with the cool air of a detective taking in a crime scene for the first time. It was like a switch had been thrown and the easy-going, laid-back girl was gone and in her place was a cool, calculating, and composed machine. ‘So, demons are collaring anyone and everyone. Alarm didn't detect them, so there must be some sort of portal just within the perimeter,’ she thought as she took everything in. A quick link-up to the plant-life outside showed her that there was a huge vortex in the front yard of the school. Though, if she were the one who wanted to neutralize a whole school full of mutants and super-humans alike, she'd probably have portals opened all over the school. She would have linked up with some more plant-life all over the school, had the pale blonde-haired man not turned to her and spoken.

"What ever happens nibblet, you’re to stay with Rogue or myself, we’re gonna grab as many students as possible and head outta here, don’let anything stop you from followin’ us,"

Well, he didn’t have to tell her twice! Kylora was in the middle of nodding her understanding of the order when a most peculiar thing happened. Of course, she’d heard the rumors that a few vampires had taken up residence at Xavier’s, but the staff wouldn’t have allowed it if they thought they might harm the students, would they? ‘Gawd, I hope not,’ she thought as she watched with surprise as the rather handsome British blonde turned into a monstrous vamp right before her eyes, ‘...Wow...’

Time and again, Kylora was reminded of how unique Xavier's was. This place housed a cornucopia of mutant powers, magical folk (herself included), and supernatural beings alike. It was as if the strange and weird were drawn to this place like metal to a magnet. For those on the inside of this place, it meant refuge from a world that isn't always nice and understanding. For those on the outside, it was a place for freaks and unnatural beings to hatch their 'evil plans' and multiply. Times like this, the elfin girl really wished that humanity was a more understanding race rather than the fearful and cruel majority that liked to hold power and strike at those that can do things that most could only dream of doing.

A quick link-up with the plant-life within the school and nearest windows on the outside, told her where they were likely to meet the least resistance between here and the tunnel entrances. “There’s a tunnel entrance down the left hallway that’s pretty clear,” she said once she’d come out of her link-up trance, “Can’t go out the front door. Huge vortex just within the perimeter. There’s only a few others within the school as far as I can tell. They’re just all trying to get to the dorms through the windows and corridors as fast as can be.”

((Sorry for getting carried away the first time around. I wasn't sure how many would be in the area and was simply eager to post. Edited though. So, let me know if ya want me to edit again. I'll just let Aldrea out some time later))

Re: Monday, April 2nd: Our Demons in the Shadows
(OOC: Sorry for the loooong wait. I wasn’t really sure how to go on and had plenty of other things to keep me distracted. But here it is now – not great but at least we can continue.

Whatever it was they were following, it was fast. At least so she deduced from the fact that they still hadn’t caught up to their target. There was a limit to how much she could increase her speed before risking to fly past it and then their slight advantage – the element of surprise – would be gone. Considering how agitated Spike was, this had to be something serious. And sure enough, his words confirmed that estimation.

Demons. The last time they had had to deal with that type, it hadn’t been pretty to say the least. Things had been dangerous enough when they had sought them out, confronting them. An infiltration or open attack on the Institute, however, that was infinitely worse. It ripped them off the choice who to involve, and who to protect by keeping them oblivious.

Her thought were interrupted when a girl she thought to recognise from full team meetings ran after them, shouting. Spike took the decision whether or not to slow down off of her when he freed himself from her hold. His words didn’t seem to be meant as a reply to her question at first, but they clearly showed just how much this was all getting to him. And of course it would, Rogue realised when shadowy images from the vampire’s memory emerged in her mind. He had seen this all before… and to say it hadn’t ended well would have been an understatement.

By the time they both had finished passing on their individual pieces of information, Rogue had come to a decision. There was no point in chasing one of them if there were more around the Institute, endangering students with little or no combat experience whatsoever. They had to prioritise. And Storm’s command to evacuate only supported that plan.

”Don’t ya worry,” she told Spike, her eyes lingering on the collar around his neck before searching his eyes. ”This place won’t turn into another Lost Angels.” Peering at the area around them, she saw several confused students, instinctively gathering in small groups. Bless herd instinct! ”We need to get everyone to safety.” Emerald eyes switched from Spike to Kylora and back. ”Ah’m faster than you, so ah’ll try t’round up as many as ah can, send them over to ya… I will need you to stay in the vicinity of the tunnel you mentioned’n get them out. We’ll have one of the other leaders outside, probably Storm. Ah’ll speak to her quickly.”

Rising off the ground again, Rogue nodded at the two, worry about what was to come in her eyes, but also the will to fight it with all the strength she could muster. And that was a lot. She fixed her gaze at Gaia again. ”It may be best if you lead them out in small groups… and keep your senses open. Don’t want ya running into these demons’ arms.” And with that, she sped off, stopping at each of the small groups to send them over while – after a quick summary – decided to take a shortcut outside and make sure there would be no ambushes. The evacuation had begun.

For everyone comes the time when they have to take over responsibility. It stands to argue whether there is also a time when they can get rid of it again.

(I know you wanted to bring Aldrea in, so figured if I let Kylora lead the way you could get them to the entrance and have her be sent down or pass them - hope the post is ok, I can edit if you need something more added)

"There’s a tunnel entrance down the left hallway that’s pretty clear," There was a mixture of exhaustion and frustrated energy inside of Spike, though for the life of him he couldn’t pin down the cause for the exhaustion. Any thoughts on the matter weren’t addressed really however considering the situation at hand and his attempts to remain focused and aware of what was being said, "Can’t go out the front door. Huge vortex just within the perimeter. There’s only a few others within the school as far as I can tell. They’re just all trying to get to the dorms through the windows and corridors as fast as can be." That sounds like the way Xavier had fallen back in his world 7 years earlier, back when the X-men were in their prime, when the heroes of the universe and defenders of the world had fallen in a blaze of short-lived glory… mounted and rotted along the sides of the main center streets…

"Don’t ya worry," Sure… because nothing was happening that should be cause for concern, no surge of demonic beings flooding through their front lawn to give them all a welcoming, everything was just fine and dandy, what would be a reason to worry? "This place won’t turn into another Lost Angels." How did she know? That’s probably what the Rogue of his world thought, though with different wordings, she probably thought to herself how all would be well and they would survive like all the other times they had defied the odds. For just for a moment, he wanted to stand there, he wanted to look into her eyes and just believe her… and for a moment it worked, that brief second before she looked away. "We need to get everyone to safety." Rogue’s attention was shared but Spike focused only on her for this period, "Aha’m faster than you, so ah’ll try t’round up as many as ah can, send them over to ya I will need you to stay in the vicinity of the tunnel you mentioned’n get them out. We’ll have one of the other leaders outside, probably Storm. Ah’ll speak to her quickly." She was leaving him… what if she got hurt, how could he protect her if they weren’t together, without realizing it Spike’s lips bared the slightest sight of fangs with his displeasure on the matter, but dismissed the frustration in favour for being useful, not argumentative.

"It may be best if you lead them out in small groups and keep your senses open. Don’t want ya running into these demons arms" At first Spike didn’t say anything, just glared off down the way his former lover had vanished, he hated when she left him, especially when she left him to fight… and especially when she left him to fight and sent him somewhere else that was anywhere but beside her where he could do his best to keep her safe.

"Let’s get to’ose tunnel’s’en," It came as more of a growl, but his features reverted back to the human visage as he spoke, even if the annoyance was clearly heard in his tone. "You best not get yaself hurt nibblet, or I’ll be very displeased," The vampire warned, motioning her to lead the way to… he failed these people once… now it was happening again, did he know the outcome or was this his chance to change things? It was a frightening thought.

Re: Monday, April 2nd: Our Demons in the Shadows
Everything was happening so fast. The demons, the infiltration, the running, the screaming, and the alarms! Those blasted alarms could rob any person, sane or otherwise, of thought. Kylora would have given anything to have those stupid alarms go silent simply so that she could think better. Thank goodness she'd learned to tune out most of the annoying sounds in the vicinity. It was the only reason that she was able to think a bit better than she would have had she not found ways to read and listen to music on a crowded bus at the same time. Still, the noise was beginning to give her a headache. Well, at least she could take some aspirin after all this was through thanks to her first aid kit in the backpack. It was then that she realized that she had been holding her uniform instead of simply stuffing it into her backpack (which she promptly did and slipped both straps on her back). 'Much better,' she thought as she listened to the instructions that Rogue was giving her.

"Right, small groups, keep senses open, and demons' arms are bad for my health," she grinned then, a bit of her laid-back self shining through before the curtain fell again as she looked to Spike. Honestly, she couldn't pin down around when she'd known about him. Certainly she hadn't known that he was a vampire, but she had seen him in the halls once or twice and heard someone call him Spike. Either way, she was glad he was on their side and not the other.

"Let’s get to’ose tunnel’s’en...You best not get yaself hurt nibblet, or I’ll be very displeased."

Gaia raised one eyebrow then as if to say, 'Really?' She turned around then and before saying in her best impression of her mum's Scots-Irish accent, "Been on th' run most o' m'adolescent life, boyo. Just try tae stay on m'six. Especially when m'eyes start aglowin'." During the last part, she pointed at her eyes and had them flash while she looked at him over her shoulder. 'Gotta love the accent,' she thought as she rounded the corner, the tunnel entrance she'd been talking about within sight. She walked over to the tunnel entrance and found the lever, the panel door sliding away to reveal the tunnel entrance. Now, all they needed were students to lead out..

((Since Aldrea is getting caught, I don't guess I'll need to really post with her until later.))

Spike raised a brow at this, wondering if she realized exactly what she was talking to.. for him, 19 years wasn’t very long, and at 19, he was hardly able to take care of himself... then again... he wasn’t born with mutant powers. Surely if he had been, he could have taken better care of his mother and himself whenever his father came home with a few too many drinks in him. It didn’t occur right away, but Spike realized it had been the first time in a long time that he had even thought about his youth, it seemed odd.. perhaps being around teens like this girl was for too long was bound to eventually start stirring some memories.

At least she knew where she was going, and while that was something, Spike couldn’t help but look back towards where Rogue had vanished... she was basically indestructible... so why did he always worry for her? His handsome human features were marred by the concern in his eyes, watching now as sounds echoed down the halls, wondering if he should go and find some students rather than wait for them to appear. Images of the school back in his reality flashed through the vampire’s mind, images of what happened to those who hadn’t escaped the school burned so brightly, their body’s nailed in mockery to crosses all along the main roads, especially around the entrances to the city, Angelus wanted to make sure people knew what happened to those who fought against him.

"I want you t’go in th’tunnel," The blonde immortal announced, a stern look now striking the blue pools of his eyes, "I’ll herd’em this way... you can lead’em further in the tunnels, once we’ave enough I’ll cover ya while you lead’em outta the school... that understood?" He didn’t sound like someone who took authority into his hands on a professional level, but he hardly cared, he could fight his way through most things, and if he could find students without worrying about her tagging along, then he’d get things done sooner. "I need you t’stay’ere in case something happen’s an’ I don’t come back, gimme five minutes, if I’m not back, you take whichever students we managed t’find out, no sense risking both our heads," The vampire didn’t look as if he was giving her much choice in the matter, he said what he wanted to happen and though he tried to make it sound all team work and fair, he had no intention of letting her run around the school while they needed to work at getting students out, besides... if he needed to, he might have to distract people so that the students could escape.. and he had no intention of leaving till everyone was out. "Stay’ere, understand?"

Like a good soldier, Ky nodded and even did a fake salute, bringing her right hand up to her eyebrow and clicking her heels before bringing the hand down. She grinned cheekily then before hurrying to stand before the newly revealed hidden tunnel. The green-eyed beauty leaned against the edge of the tunnel, her hand gripping the edge behind her.

"Sir, yes sir!," she said, standing at attention again before remembering where she was and what was happening and she sobered up quickly. The mutant with a green thumb then blinked and bit her bottom lip as she stood and waited for the inevitable stream of students about to come her way..

Re: Monday, April 2nd: Our Demons in the Shadows
There was a peace in the silence of the dreams that seemed more based on serene images then any sounds, it had been a week since Vohen left, and while Arlen missed the fairy greatly, his friend had promised to speak with Arlen’s parents and convince them to allow their only son to remain with the humans in this school. While there was little certainty over how they may reply, upset being the only emotion they were bound to feel amongst whatever else they decided, Arlen felt a little stronger with his friend standing behind him.

Though any peace the slumbering immortal felt, was suddenly burst as something grabbed at the youthful looking creature, pulling him from the waters of the bath he had fallen asleep in, dragging Arlen’s body roughly out and letting him slip awkwardly to the floor. A coughing gasp escaping the sea dweller as his lungs adjusted to the sudden exposure of air, taking a moment longer to even comprehend the yelling about him was in fact directed to Arlen himself. Though when trying to see who was yelling and what was going on, all Arlen could see were two heavily dressed people, who he assumed were humans and who seemed unsure on whether to tank him somewhere else or leave the creature there confined and guarded. It was about now that Arlen’s eyes managed to blink away any remaining sleep and his mind suddenly switched on, these definitely weren’t members of the school, and right now he felt very awkward and extremely nervous. Were they hunters? The thought unnerved Arlen more, he’d thought the people looking for him had long since given up over the year…

"Keep the fish here?" Was one thing that finally made sense to Arlen out of everything else they’d be yammering on about while he was dazed, and the comment would have definitely ruffled his feathers had Arlen been born with them. The glimmering scales that covered the lower half of the creature became a sight to be studied by one of the men it seemed, which caused Arlen to try and curl his tail protectively. Humans used to pluck the scales of his people in the old tales and Arlen really didn’t care to find out if that was still a fashion or not. In the moment they seemed to pull something out, looking as if whatever the device was they intended to put it on him, Arlen panicked, closing his eyes firmly as he focused on the water behind him and drew it to life. Like a fierce serpent, the water rose with a swirl and launched itself at the two men, if they were human they would need air to breath, and while Arlen wasn’t intending to drown anyone, he was definitely going to do his best to knock the air from their lungs.

The pool of water that had dribbled over the ground helped the merman slide himself across the bathroom floor even as he struggled to force his tail to form the legs he used so often to move about the school. Stumbling at first as he moved through the room, by the time Arlen got to the hallway he had found his feet and gained some more stability, enough to at least pick up his pace and try to find someone to help him. It took a few moments, but the heavy breathing and panic had blinded Arlen at first, it wasn’t until he reached the end of the hall that the merman slowed enough to actually hear the distance cries and yelling and loud noises he couldn’t recognize, which meant it wasn’t only he who had uninvited guests, but the school as a whole! This definitely didn’t help still the speeding heart pounding away inside his chest, and he rounded a corner there was a figure which caused him both to hesitated and feel relief, if she were part of the school, then maybe she could help, if not… well… then he’d have to figure out what to do should that be the case.

"What has befallen us?" The drenched youth called out as he continued to move towards Kylora, having never met her but knowing the likelihood that if she were with those that had rudely awoken him, then she’d likely also be dressed similar, so this was a chance worth taking. While undressed, Arlen’s scales remained as always covering from below his hips to the mid way down his thighs, like a glimmering pair of golden shorts that seemed to have dull silvery spots scattered lightly over a couple of scales.

Kylora passed as many students into the tunnels as she could, murmuring such reassurances as "there we go, can't get you now" or "stick together; that's the best plan". Still she couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding as she motioned student after student into the tunnel..Or rather those that she could get the attention of. They'd all gone through the drills. They all should know of the nearest tunnel to them. However, when one gets awoken from a deep sleep to find the school overrun by things in black gear, one always has the excuse of panic.

The trick was to take deep calming breaths and concentrate on what one was taught. That sort of thinking had served the green-thumbed mutant well over the years and it would continue to do so too. Thoughts of her friends, Armaan, Aldrea, Julian, Conner, and Kichi, flashed across her mind, causing her itch to tap into her powers to make sure her friends were okay. That, however, could get her killed or captured and she knew it. She wasn't in the mood to get captured just so that she could search the school through the 'eyes' of the plants. Where ever they happened to be, she prayed that they made it out.

Ky's eyes snapped to the new mutant who was moving towards her. He had obviously been arisen from a watery sleep as he was completely drenched. Though, this seemed to be necessary as the elven lass noticed the shorts of golden scales. Eyebrows went up as she stood on tip-toe to catch what he was saying to her.

"What has befallen us?"

"I dunno, honestly..," she said with a helpless shrug, "I suspect they tried to capture you too? Well, let's get you into the tunnels now, alright? Um..What's your name?" The thought that she shouldn't be stopping to chat, rather she should be pushing him along the tunnel crossed her mind. However, she ignored this voice for the moment as finding out his name shouldn't take longer than a moment or two..
