Monday Night in the Hotel - Everyone Hates Mondays.
Arisa had left with Arlen hours ago but Spike still sat at the table, the food had been packed away but the vampire had been picking at some sweets in a pace that could only be described as painfully slow. Most of the time the fork just sat poised in his fingers with the tip only partially touching the cake. It wasn’t uncommon for the vampire to nibble at one or two things when in the company of others despite not being able to have the sense of taste.
It was worth it, wasn’t it? A pained look mirrored the reply that whispered silently in his thoughts. Being mortal, the topic on his mind, becoming human once again, the dream he’s sought after for so long. And here it was, laid out before him in a manner that wouldn’t cost him his soul or cause him of any ounce of pain. But was he ready to give up everything? Was he ready to lose all he had? He would have to give up his fight against Belthazor and the demonic underworld reeking havoc across the city, he would have to lose Rogue, the untouchable mutant, the one woman who had ever held him, who ever loved and tended and cared about something so cold and lifeless… Or maybe she didn’t. Maybe she had still been using him and confused want with love, need with passion, lust and desire for affection.
What did he know of love? What had love ever done for him? So why was he refusing this offer of mortality for the chance of still being able to be there for Rogue when – or if – she returns to him? A mortal life would forbid her touch, but what life was there for her to drain in an already dead shell? How could he ever hope to protect her? And what of Arisa, with Willow toying with the young mutant’s mind Spike was all she had in hopes of defeating the wiccan vampire. Mortality was proving as much a curse as it was a blessing.
"Ah don't have no clue what it is ah feel for ya, Will... don't wanna talk 'round it. Ah certainly like ya... ah might even be in love with ya... bu' ah don't love you, if that's whattcha wanted to know"
But… her thoughts towards him had changed hadn’t they? He still didn’t understand, how can be in love and not actually love someone? What did she want from him? What did he have to do… nothing ever seemed grand enough, and yet she insisted that her love for him was true – then why was she not here with him? Why was he not there with her?
"Ah'm simply usin' you... abusing you for what ah need an' can't get from anyone else"
Words of the previous year returned to taunt him. They both had used each other, Spike hardly knew what he wanted but to have someone, anyone, to be close enough for him to hold, it had been something he longed for almost if not more desperately then Rogue’s passionate desires to reach out and touch someone. The southern belle only had one lifetime to be miserably alone… Spike had an eternal collection already passed and an endlessly frightening amount still to come. A timid poking of the barely touched chocolate cake with his fork kept him busy while thoughts consumed the vampire.
"You're a being... much more human than so many o'the livin' kind whatever that means. You're so strong... much stronger than me so stop constantly lowering yourself coz ah'm the one to be looked down on!"
…The soulled demon didn’t feel strong. He didn’t feel anything but broken. Would she still think he was strong if he went to her room and crawled beside her in tears, refusing to leave until she promised they’d start talking again? A pathetic grovel for her affection hardly seemed worthy of someone she ought to bother wasting her precious time on. For a moment Spike felt completely homesick. It was odd since he had suffered so greatly back in Lost Angels but still he had the sudden inkling to just go back, to withdraw from this paradise and return to the hell dimension he came from. Maybe with Angelus’s death the sunlight had returned to the other world… or maybe it was cursed to forever be in darkness, either way there had to be a struggle for power going on. Distracted thoughts returned to when Rogue was there… before she convinced him to return with them, back in the Eternal Nights HQ where he used to live with his sire and grandsire.
"..how do you think I'm feelin'? Bein' a half naked guy who just got a bullet sucked outta'im, I say 'it could have been worse'."
Pushing the cake forward in a disgruntled manner, Spike hesitated a moment before the thoughts continued playing out that moment. Being shot by Catherine Hall hadn’t been the worst thing he’s endured and since he had been the one ordered to throw her into the portal from this world to his own in a sense the vampire felt he had deserved it.
"Ah don't scream when ah look at you... 'coz ah'm used to see the being behind the face. Whatever you've been told... you can't tell wha's within someone just by lookin' at him"
"You want me to leave..." …… "tha's what you say. But I looked into your heart... no" … "... your heart was mine. You just want meh to go... because you're afraid of changes."
"Draven!" A tempered yelled called out angrily for the other undead as Spike restlessly decided to pour his frustrated energies into a training session. The lingering spirit found himself looking up from the crow that nestled itself on the desk in front of him over toward Spike as the vampire. It wasn’t true, he wasn’t afraid, he was never afraid, what right did she think she had to assume what he felt! Everyone is afraid of their lives becoming so different they’d not recognise it anymore. He had a soul now, he had a world and a job and people who were counting on him. He had what he considered a family within Arisa and he got it without others offering it towards him in pity. The vampire was EARNING his place in this world, wasn’t that enough for the southern belle? Wasn’t that enough for anyone?
"Percy!" Another demanding yell from the vampire summoned their newest member. Draven may be strong but Spike wanted more then just one opponent and having Percy shooting all sorts of diabolical devices in the vampire’s direction was usually painful and tiring – and right now he aimed to drawn his misery in as much pain as possible.

Re: Monday Night in the Hotel - Everyone Hates Mondays.
(sorry, just a quick post since I’m lacking creativity for Jenny at the moment!)
Arriving at the hotel was nice and easy going… no demons getting in Jen’s way and no hassle with the new girl who was tagging along. On the way Jenn informed Taki of the odd collection of.. people.. who lived in the hotel. Informed her of the unique situation of the two owners of the place, the soulled vampires, the eldest of who ran Angel’s Investigation, named off the vampire himself. Giving her a slight warning towards Spike’s rather instable mental balance and then commenting on the fact that not everyone there was demonic, they had two mutants, herself, the Slayer admitted proudly enough, and a young 15 year old who seemed to be in the parental care of the other vampire, Spike. Not that Spike admitted to be acting like a foster father of sorts, but that’s what it appeared to others who watched the relationship between the two. It was very ‘big brotherly’ of him taking care of the kid, she had a lot of her own issues, some related to the world of the supernatural.
"Home sweet home," Jennifer announced as she unlocked the front door, "You’re welcome in," She added, not really for the formal side of things but they had a special barrier that forbid strangers from just waltzing without appointments. "Oh, and look, a welcome committee, don’t we feel special?" Slipping the key into her pocket once more, the tanned skin beauty offered a cheeky grin at the obviously tempered vampire who hadn’t been his usual chirpy self in the recent weeks. Not that he was exactly happy back in their home reality, being tortured tends to drain the joy from ones life, but wasn’t everyone over there tortured in some way?
Re: Monday Night in the Hotel - Everyone Hates Mondays.
ooc: this may be a little short as i'm strapped
for time
Why did William have to call him at the exact moment that he needed the most possible concentration, Percy now stood in his room covered from the chest upwards in a luminous liquid, so much for that experiment. with a sigh he swept a smashed test tube into the plastic bin he used for broken glass, it was getting rather full as of late, oh well at least it gave him the opportunity to test out a new type of tranquiliser bullet on the vampire.. though he wouldnt tell him.
taking up a towel that was to hand he dried himself the best he could and as the inventor left his desk he picked up the brace of pistols on his belt from the coatstand by the door before fastening them to his waist. as he paced down the corridor towards the direction of William's voice he smiled as he considered bringing along the rest of his weapons, for although they weren't set to kill yet they still gave the vampire a scare every so often.. especially his truncheon, soaked in annointed oils it had a nasty sting for William's kind.
"pray tell me why you tend to pick on the weaker ones around here William" he slowly walked down the stairs towards the vampire loading the two pistols, he wasnt being rude, it just seemed as if he was always after an esy ride, not that Draven was easy by any means, but he rarely challenged Angel or Jennifer and to percy this was odd. "i have a new surprise in store, done a fair bit of tweaking to one of the old bullet designs" he knew that the vampire wasnt really damaged in the long term by any of these bulets, but even so he still felt a little guilty shooting someone whom he considered as a friend.
by the time he'd reached the bottom of the stairs both pistols were loaded, he was about to relace them in the holster when the front door opened, shyly he offered a smile towards them, he hadn't really spoken to Jennifer since he'd arrived and women were really not his strong point.
Re: Monday Night in the Hotel - Everyone Hates Mondays.
As Jennifer opened the doors, Taki's eyes widened at the sight of the hotel, from what she was told about the ocupants prior to the two of them approaching the door step she had expected the hotel to be ran down and littered in dust, instead what lay before her eyes was a crisp clean foyer and two figures standing along the stairs, one of which had his grasp on a pair of what Taki could invisage to be pistols.
Turning her gaze to the other figure available in sight, she could sence what Jennifer had earlier detailed to her deamonic spirits some of which were close others were scattered through out the building,
Taking a deep breath to say something instead of looking apprehencive about the situation, Taki's face winced in pain, her blade was vibrating so much that it was starting to burn her back, having forgot about her blade on the journey to the hotel, she neglected the effects the occupiers would have on it,
Quickly with drawing the blade from it's scabbard tied to her back the imediate area was fludded with an electric blue glow, as she held the weapon at arms length away from her face with one hand, as he passed two crossed fingers of the other accross the blade silently muttering a japanesse incantation, before the glow started to disapate until it was merely a silver blade reflecting the light of the appliances around them.
Looking to Jennifer, her face bringing a light smile
"Sorry" Taki spoke, as she looked at the others, whose attention was focused on her, embarisment was running through her, she had only just crossed the doorway and she had gone and exposed a weapon that most of the kind around her fear.
Soz is bit lame, need sleep
Re: Monday Night in the Hotel - Everyone Hates Mondays.
"pray tell me why you tend to pick on the weaker ones around here William" Considering Draven had the whole ‘invincible’ thing going on with the exception of someone killing his bird, and the fact the Avenging Angel packed quite the punch, both supernatural entities glanced over towards Percy with slight surprise. Granted Draven was more tuned into the ‘weaker ones’ comment. Draven may have a lack of understanding towards many things but his knowledge was growing faster with his interactions amongst these people and he understood that ‘weak’ was a negative thing to be called.
"i have a new surprise in store, done a fair bit of tweaking to one of the old bullet designs" A slight wince unwillingly flickered into the vampire’s eyes as Spike remembered the painful bites of the last bullets shot into him. It was only the unnaturally polite nature of Percy that enabled Spike to actually not feel as if his ego was being bruised with every hit Percy made. Because with someone like Jenn she tended to gloat, even unintentionally she’d have this smug joy about winning. Whereas Percy wouldn’t drag it out like the others would. Drave wouldn’t either, he never held any grudges, even if you broke his arm and or a collection of other bones and body parts – something that amazed Spike when things accidentally heated up and yet there was no aggressive attitude after they both recovered from the seemingly horrific injuries. Draven healed within the hour whereas Spike took two days, so it wasn’t like Spike thought Draven was a push over… but then again Spike knew Percy had seen Draven in action more then once so the inventor would know the dark angel could handle himself. Personality wise Draven was the weakest, he was a child given unfathomable powers and if Draven fell into the wrong hands the wandering soul could end up being used like a marionette for evils plans.
It was probably why the Council was so nervous about Angel’s team, they may not be as large a group as Rogue’s team of X-men, but Spike would feel just as safe going into a fight with these guys as he would going with her entire school of mutants. Them again… when you have mutants as powerful as Rogue you really only need one to tag along with you into battle…
The arrival of Rogue and some other chick caught Spike’s attention with a rather sharp turn of his head, his toned form turning to look at the strange female and his bright blue crystal gaze studying the foreigner carefully.
"Oi." Spike grumbled indignantly towards Jenn. "What happened to not bringin’ home stray’s Blue?" It wasn’t really an unjustified comment, the soulled vampire did after all get his head chewed off for bringing home a lost lamb without asking ‘permission’ from Angel. And now Jenn goes and does the same! The worst thing about it being that Angel wouldn’t yell at her, because god forbid she becomes unhappy! While most people weren’t really sure why Spike called Rogue ‘Blue’, Spike did it a little more often nowadays since the X-men’s Rogue become such a part of his unlife. Anyone aware of Jennifer’s mutant ability to shift into a demonic looking entity would figure out why he calls her Blue with enough ease, but he never made any effort to explain any of his pet names for people.
"Welcome to the Renaissance hotel." Draven’s more gentle voice crept into hearing, the vampire glanced over at the avenging soul who was doing as he had been taught – to meet and greet all new visitors to the hotel. The darkly dressed spirit, reasonably normal looking to the eyes yet the dark brown eyes burned with an intensity from his keen need to be absorbing information, taking in Taki’s voice and her movements and the way she herself interacted with the others in this room.
"Yeah… look, we were about to test some new nasty bullet like.. things, if you’re not going to play, best you stay away." For the past few days Spike and Rogue hadn’t been on best terms. She made some comment about how he ought to insist for Arisa to head back to the Institute to be with people who were important to her. Although Jennifer hadn’t meant the comment to be offensive Spike had taken great insult at being hinted towards the fact that he wasn’t important to her. She was here on her own free will, she was here because she wanted to be here! Besides… he was working on getting her to go back to the school, she needs to be with people her own age and who are… well… alive. But still, he didn’t like being told what to do with her, especially in a rather humiliating way. He was helping her, some people just refused to see how truly important the young girl was to him and the vampire was getting sick of them acting as if Arisa was just some pet he was keeping around.
Re: Monday Night in the Hotel - Everyone Hates Mondays.
Offering the woman a slight smile as she apologised for the glowing weapon. Everyone in the room was either from another reality (Spike and Rogue being from the reality known as ‘Lost Angels’) or from another time (that’d be Percy, from the 1800’s) and of course how could Rogue even explain the naivety of poor Draven…But it meant their knowledge of certain things was not so great within this world and time, the weapon obviously wasn’t familiar to any of them and it wouldn’t be the first time they encountered a fancy glowing sword.
The narky attitude of the vampire was expected yet still unwanted. The Slayer waited for a moment and then offered Taki a glance with a whisper added in to explain Spike’s attitude.
"We’re having a few clashes of opinions at the moment, he’s a little touchy about certain things." It was rather pointless to ‘whisper’ in a way which would stop others from hearing her, being in a room full of enhanced hearers meant it was a rather futile effort.
"Right, introductions," Rogue shot a glance towards Percy first and motioned a hand towards the human, "Percy. Human time traveller guy from the 1800’s somewhere, an inventor making gizmo things and.. such – for demon hunting of course." Another motioning of her hand towards Spike and Draven. "Dude with the attitude is Spike, vampire with a soul, and the guy at the reception desk with the bird is Draven… we’re um.. we’re not entirely sure what he is. He’s dead, has a soul, he’s not demonic, and he packs a punch, but he suffers amnesia, in all areas, blank book relearning basics of life and such." And the girl already knew about Jennifer, so Jenn decided to allow Taki to introduce herself, the Slayer folding her arms. The tight leather pants and jacket was rather ‘covering’ for her usual standards but the visible slender stomach and fingerless gloves still showed off some finely tanned skin. A few months in this world and Jenn was spending as many days as possible up on the roof of the hotel or out and about. So long in the darkness of her world, Jenn couldn’t understand how they all survived without the light.
Re: Monday Night in the Hotel - Everyone Hates Mondays.
Narrowing her eyes at Spike she had been forwarned of his mental instability, but yet for all the warning that was presented she was still caught off guard by the out burst,
looking back at Jenn as she introduced those who were in the imediate vacinity, she took in all the extra information pinning the names to the faces and trying to acess their characters and to see how she should aproach them if ever the time arrived.
Once Jennifer had stopped Taki looked at her inquisitively before realising what rouge was doing, darting a glance ovner to spike, before laying her view onto the entire room, Taki took a deep breath, fear had started to coarse her veins, the realisation that she would at some point need to divulge her story to the occupants of the hotel, brought a chill of fear and sorrow through her spine and veins
Taking one last breath "My name is Taki Kyung, i am a deamon slayer from Japan" pausing for a moment, the realiseation of what she had offered would not be enough to satisy the other's attention nor their curiosity, granted that would be if they actually cared, from the impression she got from Spike, she shouldn't be there, comming to realise that it was time to bite the proverbial bullet Taki took a deep breath, hoping to clear her own deamons and satisfy the hunger of the gathered's curiosity
"That is that i used to live in Japan, but not any more, i was driven out of my town for being a mutant.... by my own mother, i had no other place to go than out of the county the anti mutant leaque had destroyed the monistory where i learnt my skills and powers as deamon hunter, and where i saw realisation of the untapped powers within me" Taki continued, as she dove deaper into her tale her voice strated to crack up, as the enslaught of emotional truma reared its ugly head from within
Re: Monday Night in the Hotel - Everyone Hates Mondays.
the inventor smiled as he was introduced Miss Jennifer did a much better introduction than William would, he seemed to be in a funny mood lately… maybe it was something to do with Percy nearly cutting his head off the other day when testing a booby trap in the hallway. "My name is Taki Kyung, i am a deamon slayer from Japan" japan… he’d nearly gone there for a design project once, but they were going by train for most part of the journey and that’s something he could never do… even if he did have a hand in the train’s design.
After she spoke there was a pause, they seemed to be expecting something more but she didn’t seem keen, Percy was going to politely hint that she could elaborate but he saw that she was going to continue and politely kept quiet "That is that i used to live in Japan, but not any more, i was driven out of my town for being a mutant.... by my own mother, i had no other place to go than out of the county the anti mutant leaque had destroyed the monistory where i learnt my skills and powers as deamon hunter, and where i saw realisation of the untapped powers within me" his cheery expression turned to pity as she spoke, he didn’t know much about having powers but he did know what it was like to be singled out for being different or cleverer than everone else
“you poor thing…” it wasn’t supposed to come out, it sounded wrong “well we won’t pick on you here… will we William” he shot a sarcastic glance towards spike, this was a little out of character for Percy but he was just trying to fit in “and I would dearly love to take a glance at that weapon.. The glow is extremely interesting and I’m working on something like that now as it happens” he couldn’t contain his curiosity as he nervously walked closer.. even after introductions he still wasn’t sure of himself where women were concerned, I mean he’d been here quite a while now and he still couldn’t hold a conversation with Jennifer without extreme embarrassment and blushing… especially with the way she tended to dress.
“Once more welcome” he went to hold out his hand and realized he was still holding the pistols, with a slight blush he retracted “sorry” he spun them round quite quickly before thrusting them into the holsters on his belt… it would have been textbook and looked a lot more impressive if his finger on his left hand hadn’t slipped as they went in and fired a tranquilizer round through his shoe. “oh dea…” with a pained expression he slowly slumped forwards towards them as the low grade horse tranquilizer took effect… at least he knew they worked on humans, perhaps he should have left the safety on
Re: Monday Night in the Hotel - Everyone Hates Mondays.
Watching as the inventor started to slump forward, Taki out of instint, strecthed out her hand and stopped him from falling on his face, his body held there in Taki's telekenetic grip his arms flopping about in the current of air being expelled from the ac unit, focusing her strengh she pushed the inventor back against the wall and lowered him until he was sitting on the floor.
Looking to the others in the room, she withdrew her hand abruptly then wraped her arms around her chest in a defencive position, although she was told she was umounst freinds she was still nervous about her powers, the willingness to use it had been suppressed by the thoughts of her mother

Re: Monday Night in the Hotel - Everyone Hates Mondays."Oh don’t worry ‘bout it," Spike gave an unworried motion of his hand "You’ll get used t’his clumsiness, anyone hungry? Made ‘Risa burgers for lunch, some left overs in th’kitchen." The vampire jabbed his finger off in the direction of the kitchen before looking over at Percy again, scratching his bleached head for a moment before walking over to the fallen human.
"Oi, mate, wake up damn it, ya supposed to be coming upstairs to try and blow my head off or somethin’." Grouchily Spike folded his arms and looked over at Taki, noticing her stance with a curious raise of his right brow. Some people really ought to take the hint when in a hotel for the weird that weird things were a normality.. in fact being normal would make them appear weird to most of these occupants.
Spike walked briskly over into one of the joining rooms, which was the kitchen, and then returned unscrewing the lid of a water bottle. It was always so nice being there for people, a friend in need demanded Spike’s utmost attention and the vampire felt obliged to give Percy a helping hand. And if it didn’t work, then Percy wouldn’t notice the wetness of the situation, and if it did, then what was he to whine about, the human was woken up, that’s all that he ought to think about.
"Righ’, so ya plannin’ on stayin’ long’en?" The souled vampire asked for knowledge sake, looking over at Taki as he stood beside Percy, holding the two litre bottle of water in his hands innocently for a short pause before holding it out over Percy’s slouched form and turning the opened bottle upside over his body, the cold liquid spilling down onto the human’s sedated form while still watching Taki.
Re: Monday Night in the Hotel - Everyone Hates Mondays.
Watching inquisitively as Spike poured the chilled water over the dazed form of Percy, she could not help but try and keep back a smile, the whole event of Percy tranquising himself apeared to be of fair amusement, thinking to herself
//This place will be amusing //
Taki looked back at spike once she realised that he had asked her as to how long she would be expecting to stay, Taki hadn't thought about it, if not atall, the whole journey back was more or less a relief that someone had actually wanted to help her rather than hunt her,
Spending a fewmoments trying to understand what Spike had said, Taki struggled tryign to grasp the slang dialect that came from Spike, after a moments pause Taki looked to Spike
"I Guess i would be staying until I get my feet, or if destiny calls upon me again" She spoke, a subtle smile on her face
