Moonlit Lake (open)
The night was clear; although the moon wasn't full the light was enough to see by and to make a soft pale blue glow on the surface of everything it touched. It was a nice and tranquil scene outside almost the total opposite of how it was within the building. In there, it seemed like there was rarely a dull moment. Tessa grinned a little from her thoughts. Well, she wanted excitement in her life and she got it! She went from being a wandering DJ to part time Med lab assistant... Well, it wasn't exactly part time. She had offered up her services whenever Dr. Mc Coy may need her help. She had even left her cell number down at the Med Lab in case someone needed to call her up to get her over there.
As if on cue, the cellphone rang the tune of 'Everybodys Fool' that she had set it to. Tessa unclipped the celly from her belt loop and lifted it up to look at the small glowing screen on it. Seeing it was her friend Mia's number she answered it. "Hey." She greeted as she continued walking towards the lake. "Hey Tess! I thought you fell off the edge of the earth or something. Where have you been? you haven't come by in the last week or so." Mia stated.
"Well, I called and left a message on your voice mail." Tessa stated. "I was moving house so I decided to take a vaca while I was away anyway." Tessa finished. "A vacation? You haven't gone into a depression relapse, have you? I know it's around that time of the year." Mia stated with concern in her tone. Tessa gave a small chuckle. "No, I haven't so you don't have to worry. Hey, tell you what, I'll meet up with you tomorrow so you can see for yourself." Tessa stated with a grin. "You better. Oh and hey! I've got a job lined up for you in three days... You don't mind do you?" Mia asked.
Tessa rubbed the back of her neck, thinking about how she might be needed around the manshion. Sure there were other people helping but still, what if something came up that was like a huge emergency or something? "I'll see if I can. Can't promise anything though so have a backup alright?" She replied. "Ok! Well see you tomorrow, Tess! I've got a beep." Mia replied. "Alright, see you later." Tess answered before hanging up the cellphone and tucking it back onto ther belt loop.
Although she wasn't too sleepy, a small yawn came from her as she sat down at the edge of the lake and she gave a little stretch. Her eyes then locked onto the lake, taking in the beauty of it. It really was a sight to see. In the time that she had been here, she hadn't really taken the chance to just sit and do this until now. It wasn't that they worked her to death. No, far from that. It was just that she hadn't thought to just take a breather. Well, she was doing it now.
Illidan had been haunting the ground since sunset, he had woken later than usual, he hadn't thought anything of it until he had begun own lazy wanderings. He had been observing a painting made by one of the students, it was much like The Death of Socrates except that it depicted a pink skinned mutant with a bullet wound instead of the philosopher and his hemlock. It was at that moment that he realized he had 'slept in'. He had decided to step outside, thinking that perhaps the moon could provide a focus for his thoughts.
He had slid outside like a shadow, moving gracefully though the grounds, now in his natural element he was glowing ever so slightly, his eyes alight with refracted rays of light. His lithe movements hiding the deadly power behind his limbs. Each appendage a weapon if Illidan ever deemed it so. His lean body deceivingly frail looking thanks to his appearance, he almost looked like a marble statue, he had not thought to eat before stepping out. He didn't mind, there wasn't much reason to, he didn't expect company, he usually wandered alone, peacefully, in his own little world.
"Well, I called and left a message on your voice mail. I was moving house so I decided to take a vaca while I was away anyway." Illidan disappeared into the shadows. The voice was familiar, Tessa. Had she taken him up on his offer to meet, or was she here for other reasons?
"I'll see if I can. Can't promise anything though so have a backup alright? Alright, see you later." She clearly wasn't here for him. Well in that case, now that she was in his world, and not visa versa it was time for some fun. Illidan stalked, silent and unseen to her left. "Tessa..." He whispered, his voice just barely audible. In a flash he was to her right, "Tessa..." He repeated. He kept moving, his hand, cold as death, brushing the back of neck ever so lightly. Before he disappeared into the shadows once more, and remained silent, waiting for her to react.

Re: Moonlit Lake (open)"Tessa..." A voice called her name in a whisper from her left not long after she took a seat at the edge of the lake and she turned her head, her expression slightly confused as she looked to see who it might be. She hadn't heard any footsteps so as far as she knew, she had been alone... But the voice had to come from someplace.
"Tessa..." It came again, this time from her right and was followed by something cold touching the back of her neck. She jumpped a little from surprise, having been caught off guard, then looked to see the same outcome; no one was there.
Kevin?" She spoke the name so softly that she herself could barely hear it and with an accent so deep that it came out sounding more like 'kay-van'. Almost as soon as she uttered the name, she shook her head. There was no way that it could be him. She hadn't hear his voice since he was alive and if he had been planning on reaching her after death, he would have done so much earlier than that night.
It had to be someone else. The voice had been male, yes, but it wasn't Kevin's and now that she had the time to think she realized that. She hadn't meant to call out for him no matter how quietly she had done it. Now that she did, she felt a little embarrassed. It had to be one of the residents in the institute... But who? The fact that the person had called her by name could have narrowed it some but with her being one of the helpers in the medical lab, there were more people that knew her name than she knew theirs most likely.
She stood now, placing a hand on the back of her neck where she had felt the coldness at earlier. Then, she let her hand drop to her side again as she looked around in the darkness. Although the moon was bright out, she could only see so much. It was mostly shadows for her, which didn't help much. Maybe it had been her imagination? Maybe she was sleepier than she had originally thought? But then again, this was a place full of mutants who had a good variety of abilities.
"Anyone there?" She asked, her voice now clear and loud enough to have the question heard within a handful of feet in distance. She wasn't hollaring but it was a little louder than if she had been speaking to osmeone directly in front of her.
Re: Moonlit Lake (open)
Illidan watched amusedly from the shadows as she struggled to see him, the name Kevin had surprised him a bit, but he didn't know her all that well, probably a lover's name slipping out subconsciously. He considered one of the two paths he could take with his little game. There was no doubt that he would wait for a short while, just long enough for her to think she was hearing things, then he could take up the whispering again, or he could run behind her, the only sound would be the whoosh of the wind. Or maybe he'd take a new approach to this game, one where he held all the cards.
He stepped out of the shadows, slowly, the moment the moon hit his skin he began to glow, "It is good to see you again Tessa..." He continued to walk towards her, his pace so rhythmically perfect it was inhuman. "It was beginning to think you and I would never meet again." He smiled, meanwhile, he had stop a few feet from her. He applied a minor bit of vampiric persuasion to his voice, "You seem tired, care to share?" Illidan smiled, he enjoyed his little games so, he made the rules, he held all the cards and he was the only one who knew they were playing. Perhaps he'd merely play, just for fun, or maybe he'd work for a goal, maybe get this strong self-assured woman to pine for him? Well, that might be too cruel for Illidan, also to easy, all he'd have to do is make eye contact. If I made eye contact...I might not be so lonely, then again, I have a friend now. What would Michael say? He'd tell me, if I had to play, do it just for fun. Illidan sighed internally and then turned his complete attention to Tessa.
