My only home now.....
Her eyes shifted to a dark stormy scene as she slipped out of the taxi and as she looked to the institute. They flickered to a blue-greeen before she forced them into a copper color as she turned and paid the driver, copper being the closest to normal color she could get them and it being easily mistaken for brown. After paying the driver, she turned towards the building again.
It had been months since she had been here, those months having been spent trying to convince her father to let her back into their home. It wasn't that she didn't like this place; it was just that after having been raised only within the walls of her family property, she didn't know any other life. But, even still, her father had sent her back here. He had been furious. He had even called up the institute to tell them that he was sending her back and not to let her come back to him until she was cured...
Cured, the thought angered her, causing her irises to melt into a red in color. He had meant until she was cured from being a mutant. Even she knew that it was no desease before Professor Xavier had even told her that first time she had been there...
As she heard the taxi drive off, she made her way towards the building. She had only a large suitcase and a small backpack with her but they felt like they weighed a throusand pounds, her depression trying to pull her down to the ground. She had no place else to go now...
Rain shook her head and made herself raise her chin. No, she shouldn't be sad or angry or hopeless. She had to look at the upside of things. She at least had someplace to go where she wouldn't be frowned upon. At least they let her come back even after she had left so suddenly and with no explaination.
She came to a stop once she entered the front hall, freezing as she found she didn't know what to do. What if her room was gone now? Even though the Front Hall looked the same with all of it's decorations and such, everything couldn't have really remained the same. To find out, she would have to wait for someone.. but she didn't know how to act. She had barely been able to act correctly in the times she had been made to interact with people at the airport, bus station, and with the taxies.
Rain didn't know what to do and it showed in her now pale green eyes that indicated she was at unease. She didn't think it would be right to be business-like here like she had been with those other people and offering money for information would be just rude here. Her mind wanderd back to the last time she had been at the institute. She had only met Xavier and that crazy man named Logan. The two of them had been so different... She didn't know how to prepare herself for another person, not knowing how they were going to be.
"Please let everything be the same as it was...." She whispered. But for some reason, she didn't feel like it would be as she wished...
Rain's description- amber hair with black ends which is long in the front half anf cut in a bowl cut in the back, color changing amber eyes that chance depending on her mood, she stands 5'5" I believe and has an athlete/martial artist figure. Edited by: zirasharia at: 12/3/05 6:56 pm
The glowing green eyes of the teenager desperately searched the front hall for any sign of his boyfriend. “I can’t believe him. Where could he be,” he thought. He had already searched all over the mansion. “If he doesn’t have a good excuse, I’m gonna kill him.”
He shook his head, causing his light brown hair to fall into his eyes. “Well, I’ll never find him this way.” He pushed his hair out of his eyes and looked around the front hall. Everything seemed perfectly normal. Well, at least as normal as you could find in a school full of mutants.
He examined the decorations in the front hall. All the painting and sculptures were way to expensive, even for his taste. “This is not the kind of stuff that I would put in a school. Way to easy to break some of these things.”
He was just about to leave the hall when he heard the door open behind him. He turned and watched a girl walk in. She had what he considered an extremely stylish haircut, long in front and short in the back. Her pale green eyes quickly scanned the room. “She gorgeous,” he thought.
Just then, he heard her whisper “Please let everything be the same as it was…”
“The same as it was? I thought I’ve seen her before.”
“Well, I’m not sure if everything will be the same, but lot’s of things probably will be,” he said. “I’m Brett. I’ve seen you around before.” He extended a gloved hand in greeting. “So I guess it’s welcome back, right?”
Re: My only home now.....“Well, I’m not sure if everything will be the same, but lot’s of things probably will be... I’m Brett. I’ve seen you around before.” Her eyes shifted to a light pink from her being startled then changed to a deep emerald rimmed blue-green of shyness as she caught sight of the person who had spoken. As he extended a gloved hand, she paused for a moment unsure of what to do. Then, after her mind cleared from the surprise of the unexpected company, she accepted the hand in a light shake, the emerald rimmed blue-green melting away to their natural liquid amber instead.
“So I guess it’s welcome back, right?” The guy asked. As he spoke, she watched him. The guy, Brett, had glowing green eyes, was cleanly shaven, and was a bit on the short side and from his handshake, she could tell that he did some sort of excersize. She couldn't determine that by the condition his hands were in due to the gloves so she instead had relied on the posture and strength. Having been trained so long and from such an early age, she had learned how to tell these things. Of course, she owed it all to her trainer.
"I... wasn't aware of anyone having seen me around the property except for Professor Xavier and that Logan man.. But I can see how you could have seen me. I did train on the wall a lot...." She spoke softly and a little nervously, traces of gold threading itself in with the amber. It was close to obvious that she wasn't used to being around people but at the same time, besides the shyness she didn't give off the feeling that she was uncomfortable.
"Thank you for the welcome..... My name is Rain Curington. It's a pleasure to meet you." She said, giving a small smile. "It has been a while since I was here last... Months actually. Would you know where Professor Xavier is at the moment? I'd like ot extend my appologies to him for having left before so suddenly and without warning." She stated.
Re: My only home now.....
"So I guess it's welcome back, right?" Brett said, as she placed her hand into his own extended one. The shake was light; yet firm at the same time. As he watched, her eyes changed colors. If it were anywhere else, this might have suprised him, but he was used to unnatural instances like this. He knew that his won eyes were a bright glowing green. So what if someone could change the color of their eyes.
During the breif handshake, he took time to examine the new arrival. He observed that this girl was slightly taller than himself, but no more than an inch or two. She seemed to be what he thought other guys would think was attractive. All of his training had taught him to look closer than just height, hair, and eye-color. Her build was a female comparison to his own athletic build. "She must work out," he thought. Wonder if it's in martial arts? Can't really think of anything else that would give her that body."
"I...wasn't aware of anyone having seen me around the property except for Professor Xavier and that Logan man... But I can see how you could have seen me. I did train on the wall a lot...." she said softly. He watched as gold now laced its way though her amber eyes.
Was it really her then? So many people come into the institute, I might be wrong," he ran a gloved hand along the sind of his head, combing hair back as it went.
"Thank you for the welcome..... My name is Rain Curington. It's a pleasureto meet you," she said smiling. It was the first smile that she had given him. It made her look more attractive. "To bad I'm gay," he thought, flashing a smile of his own. "It has been a while since I was here last... Months actually. Would you know where Professor Xavire is at the moment? I'd like to extend my apologies to him for having left before so suddenly and without warning."
'Aren't you going to allow me to introduce myself first? I'm Brett Aaron Connor, and the pleasure's all mine," he said, dipping into a low bow. "Now," he said rising, "as to where the professor is right now, I'm not exactly sure. I'd be happy to help you find him... That is, as long as you'll help me find someone else afterwards." His eyes flashed a brighter green. "I still think that I'm going to kill him if he doesn't have a good reason for not being at the couch." "You see I can't seem to find my boyfriend anywhere."
Re: My only home now.....'Aren't you going to allow me to introduce myself first? I'm Brett Aaron Connor, and the pleasure's all mine," Her eyes practically exploded into a metallic green color as embarrassment came to her. She couldn't believe how rude she had been. Of course she should have waited for introductions before worrying about her own problems out loud. As he bowed, she quickly returned it out of habit, not rising until he did so himself.
"Now, as to where the professor is right now, I'm not exactly sure. I'd be happy to help you find him... That is, as long as you'll help me find someone else afterwards."She listened to the newly introduced Brett comment. As his eyes lit a little brighter, she couldn't help but to glance at them but her natural shyness towards people she didn't know caused her to look away again, her diverting her gaze to the floor. As the words sank in, her thinking them over, she nodded.
"You see I can't seem to find my boyfriend anywhere." Rain, knowing little to nothing about reltionships, didn't seem to react as if she were shocked. She didn't even know what a boyfriend was in the way he was talking about, her just assuming that he was talking about a friend that happened to be male. She only appeared to be just taking in the information with stride like she had when he had told her his name as if the information was of the same normality. She didn't know that it wasn't as common of a coupling as a man and a woman so she would cast no judgement.... Not that she would judge anyone anyway.
"I'd be willing to do that for you, Mr.Connor." She stated. Rain couldn't honestly say she would be happy to, her still unused to meeting strangers nevermind tracking one down but she wasn't against the idea. "What does he look like? And where would we be searching?" She asked softly, a bit nervous about the chance of running into too many people.

"I'd be willing to do that for you, Mr. Connor." She stated. "What does he look like? And where would we be search[/i]" She asked softly.
He could tell that she wasn’t too excited about helping him just from the way she looked at him. Maybe she was one of those people that didn’t really like gays. If that was the case, things could get really interesting, but first things first.
“Mister? I’m only fifteen. How old are you anyway? There is defiantly no reason on earth to use that word. Please, I beg of you, call me Brett,” he almost cried, with a pained look on his face. His green eyes started to dim. He hoped that he hadn’t hurt the girl, but to someone like him, turning twenty was like turning forty.
“And now with that settled, you want to know what he looks like.” He thought for a moment before continuing. “Well he’s really gorgeous. He almost made my heart stop the first time that I saw him.” He grinned a devilish grin. “He has beautiful, silky brown hair that comes down to his eyes. I just love when his eyes are partly covered. Oh, and their blue by the way. It’s a blue as bright as the sky at noon on one of those perfect cloudless days. He’s tall, nearly a foot more than myself and really thin. I don’t think that there’s an ounce of fat on him. And he has dark skin from the summers he’s spent with his family in San Francisco.”
Okay, so maybe he went just a little overboard on the whole describing him thing, but his boyfriend was godlike in his eyes. But then again, he wasn’t on the couch and with today being what it was.
“As far as finding him. You’re guess is as good as mine. He’s a flier and he’s incredibly fast. I really have no clue. He could be anywhere,” Brett said, a tear forming in his eye.
“Including right behind you,” came a deep but gentle voice.
Brett turned around and standing right behind him was a young man almost exactly as he had described. He was wearing light tan shorts with a white polo. Around his neck was a small silver cross, and in his right ear was a silver hoop.
“I’m sorry I’m late, but I had to pick these up for you. Because of how delicate they are, I had to do things the long way and walk instead of fly or run.” He pulled from behind his back two long-stemmed red roses. “These are for you, for our anniversary,” the boy said as he gently kissed Brett on the lips.
Brett pulled away. “How rude of me. Lucas Starr, allow me to introduce you to Miss Rain Curington. Miss Curington, allow me to introduce you to my boyfriend, Lucas Starr.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you… But what’s with the Miss?” Lucas asked as Brett giggled.
Re: My only home now.....“Mister? I’m only fifteen. How old are you anyway? There is defiantly no reason on earth to use that word. Please, I beg of you, call me Brett,” She hadn't meant to make him uncomfrotable but by the reaction, he had been horrified by being called Mister. “And now with that settled, you want to know what he looks like... Well he’s really gorgeous. He almost made my heart stop the first time that I saw him." Rain wasn't used to hearing anyone described as gorgeous so she was a bit confused but she listened anyway. She had heard of outfits being gorgeous and of sunsets being gorgeous so maybe he was saying that the one he was looking for was stunning instead?
“He has beautiful, silky brown hair that comes down to his eyes. I just love when his e are partly covered. Oh, and their blue by the way. And he has dark skin from the summers he’s spent with his family in San Francisco.” now that gave more for her to go by and she nodded as she listened to the more understandable description, still missing the fact that Brett was speaking about someone he was romantically involved with.
“As far as finding him. You’re guess is as good as mine. He’s a flier and he’s incredibly fast. I really have no clue. He could be anywhere,” She saw the tear forming in Brett's eyes and a look of concern came to her face. Just as she was about to speak though, someone else did from behind the boy. “Including right behind you... I’m sorry I’m late, but I had to pick these up for you. Because of how delicate they are, I had to do things the long way and walk instead of fly or run. These are for you, for our anniversary,” Judging by how his appearance was almost exactly as was described for her, Rain guessed this was Brett's boyfriend.
She blushed a little and looked ot the side, her eyes a metallic green of embarrassment when the flowers were given to Brett and when Brett kissed the guy as she had once seen one of her sisters kiss someone she had brought home with her before. Rain hadn't meant to see that, she had been taught not to look when something like that was going on, it bing rude not to give them privacey. There wasn't any disgust in the action, just shyness.
“How rude of me. Lucas Starr, allow me to introduce you to Miss Rain Curington. Miss Curington, allow me to introduce you to my boyfriend, Lucas Starr.” As Brett spoke, she looked over at them again feelign that it was now safe to. “It’s a pleasure to meet you… But what’s with the Miss?” The newly introduced Lucas spoke.
Rainextended her hand for a shake as she spoke up. "Nice to meet you, Mister Starr.... As for calling me by that name, you do not need to. There are too many Miss Curingtons and besides that, I am not given the title Miss anything... you can just call me Rain. Thank you." She stated softly, her eyes shifting back to the liquid amber. "I'm glad that you were not too hard to find at all. It seems Mister.... I mean, Brett, was distressed about your dissappearance." She stated.
Re: My only home now.....
Rain extended her hand. “Nice to meet you, Mister Starr.... As for calling me by that name, you do not need to. There are too many Miss Curingtons and besides that, I am not given the title Miss anything...you can just call me Rain. Thank you.”
Lucas quickly accepted the hand into his own, returning the gesture.
“I’m glad that you were not too hard to find at all. It seems Mister....I mean, Brett, was distressed about your disappearance.”
“Distressed? Is that so?” Lucas questioned, wrapping his arms around Brett.
“Well, how was I supposed to know where you went. I mean honestly, you left me alone and waiting. Someone that looks like you, I was afraid that you might have found someone else.”
“How could you even think that. You know that I love you. I have loved you since you came here and nothing is going to change that fact.” Lucas said, holding Brett at arms length. He then pulled him in close again.
“How could I ever doubt him,” Brett thought, reveling in the feeling of being held protectively by his boyfriends arms. He gently leaned into Lucas’ chest wanting to be held closer before remembering that he had agreed to help Rain if she helped him.
“Hey Lucas, do you know where we can find Professor Xavire?”
Lucas glared for at Brett for a second before saying, “You know, you really should be a blond some times. Professor Xavire is in a coma. How could you forget something like that.” By the end, he was practically screaming.
“I...I...” Brett said, tears streaming down his face. He was then covered by a layer of green energy. Without warning, he ran outside and took off high into the sky.
“Sorry about that. You should go to the headmasters office. I’ve gotta go catch him,” Lucas said while chasing after his boyfriend. Both boys just left Rain standing in the front hall.
Re: My only home now.....“Distressed? Is that so?” As Lucan wrapped his arms around Brett, Rain averted her eyes again. Not only did she want to give them privacey but she was also more than a little unused to seeing displays of affection. Her life revolved around training and studying as it had been made to be since she was very little so she wasn't around that kind of thing when she was growing up likeother people were.
“Well, how was I supposed to know where you went. I mean honestly, you left me alone and waiting. Someone that looks like you, I was afraid that you might have found someone else.” She heard Brett state only to meet the reply of “How could you even think that. You know that I love you. I have loved you since you came here and nothing is going to change that fact.”.
She wondered if she should go to another area and wait for them to finish but just as she prepared to walk away, Brett spoke of something that actually involved what she needed to know. “Hey Lucas, do you know where we can find Professor Xavire?” Rain moved to be looking at them again, her wanting to know the answer.
The glare that Lucas gave confused her. How when they had been so sweet to eachother could the mood change so quickly. For some reason only known to the back of her mind, this disturbed her more than it should have. “You know, you really should be a blond some times. Professor Xavire is in a coma. How could you forget something like that.” Those words froze her to the spot. Xavier was in a coma? He hadn't struck her as the kind to be sickly so she wondered if there had been some accident while she had been away.
“I...I...” Brett seemed just as stunned but at the same time, hurt as tears came to him. As energy coated him and he flew away, Rain's eyes became a startled light grey. She made herself calm down though when she realized it wasn't her own energy that had done that. “Sorry about that. You should go to the headmasters office. I’ve gotta go catch him,” Lucas stated before going after Brett. She didn't feel the appology was to be directed to her but to the one who was crying but she accepted the directions to go to the Headmaster's Office.
