I just want to say hello everyone. I' m new in this forum. Glad I found it anyway!. It' s a great opportunity for emotional support and expanding your knowledge about uveitis and OID. It is always good to know that you' re not alone!.
I' m now almost 29 yrs old. In 2006 I had my 1st episode of uveitis. An idiopathic one. So told me the doctors at the hospital. Only recently an ocular immunologist told me I' m suffering from multifocal choroiditis instead. So I guess I' m in the right place...thanks to everyone for any help you' ll give me!
welcome to the group!
several of our members over the past years have had MCP.
which Ocular Immunologist are you under care?
please post to the general discussion forum or other forums as you develop questions. we are here to help in any way we can. and Yes You are NOT ALONE!
First of all, thanks for the tip and for your support!. The immunologists who examined me are Dr. Modorati and Dr. Miserocchi at HSR in Milan. I' m not exactly "under their care", it' s just that my new eye doctor wasn' t completly convinced about the previous diagnosis and so she asked for a consult.(The doctors at the hospital thought it could be a toxoplasmosis related corioretinitis but all the blood tests came out to be negative, anyway I had a specific treatment for toxoplasmosis!) and so she asked for a consult. Now I' m Glad she asked a specialist' s opinion.
Thanks again!
Re: NEW MEMBER
Has anyone suggested things besides corticosteroids for your poserior uveitis?
If I recall correctly, the second doctor you mention did training in the USA. if possible continue with her and see if a steroid sparing approach to treatment can be implemented.
we can continue this discussion in either the Support forum or the Learning about ocular inflammatory disease processes forum. start a new thread in one of them please.
