I know next to nothing about the bands you mention above, but one of my favorite albums of the last few years was in this vein of European/Nordic/German volkische music, by a Portland artist named Waldteufel. The group is fronted by Marcus Wolff, previously of the legendary Dionysian industrial percussion ensemble Crash Worship.
His album Heimliches Deutschland is the real deal, a German-language Wald Schwarzer folk album done in a classical style. Powerful and haunting, not silly or gothy at all. Check out the review I wrote for the Brain a while back:

If anything, this review wasn't complimentary enough. The album is awesome. I highly recommend checking it out.
