I've managed to wrangle a couple of days off starting Monday so expect me to start catching up on the long list of owing posts then. However, I've also had a new character idea *ignores the groans* that's sticking with me so here's my question:
I would really love to play a skrull character (the marvel canon species of shapeshifting, gender-bending little green men) who would start out as an infiltrator (canon says they can fool even telepaths), testing the waters for the empire, which sees humans, and especially these newly evolved mutants as a threat that needs to be dealt with. She/He would integrate through the CO and then there could or could not be a subplot about infiltration and other skrulls, whatever everyone is up for and what works with the storyline. The immediate question is that the power of shapeshifting is on the overused list and I'm wondering if that's an absolute ban or if I'd be able to use the power since it is a facet of the species. My perspective character would be posing as a mutant student, possibly with a power to change into inanimate objects or some lesser form of shapeshifting.
I appreciate any thoughts on the matter and sorry for lagging in posts guys!
sounds fine to me! ..and I -think- the only shapshifting currently in play is technically Talia..... most of the others have stopped playing, so even if it were a total ban, it'd be void at the moment.
A skrull is a cool idea, Ann was talkinga bout Skrulls at one point... involved with Scott or something and how Logan didn't know someone was a skrull and then there was this huge debat over how logan would notice a change in scents between 'cloones' no matter how perfect because apparently a persons life will change their scent enough to be noticable.. and Ann I believed smacked the argument silly with the whole 'Marvel bends reality to suit its needs, so can we' side of things lol. I was tempted to make a skrull just to be annoying.........but I think I've already pushed my luck on charries
Re: New Character Question
Lol! Well Marvel has a whole skrull "secret invasion" storyline going on now I understand (although I haven't read it because I so don't have enough money to read all the x-men comics, I keep to Buffy and Runaways) and I thought the whole gender angle would be interesting to go with but I didn't want to play Xavin her(?)self so new charrie seemed like a good compromise.
And it's a good thing there aren't many shapeshifters because I'd still like to transfer Naja over and she's pretty similar in some ways. *shifty look*
Haha I like Ann's argument! Gotta love bending the rules to suit our own needs!
