OC Attack: An Encounter With the Hellions (2.43ish am)
Although May had vanished off and Lexi was still missing, were they together, or had Lexi not managed to find May? What if they were hurt? But Lexi had insisted they stay their grounds, she’ll get May and help whoever else she found to another escape point. Maybe that’s what happened, Lexi was caught up in helping others, maybe May was helping her, or maybe… for all Riley knew they were dead. It couldn’t be helped the thought, too long had he lived in confusion of missing team-mates only to find their bodies, if anything, some mangled, some worse…But this was Xavier’s… that sort of thing didn’t happen here, hopefully it will stay that way. It felt horribly wrong to be without their assigned leader and yet they still managed to be making decisions, though for the life of him, Riley couldn’t figure out why that would strike him as wrong. It made sense that they continue acting as a team, with or without their leader. It wasn’t like the former agent had never been in that place before, having to deal with things without the official leader there to give the orders. Perhaps it was because of Lexi’s silent outrage, no matter how low key it had been at times, that forced Riley to feel more sensitive towards it all, he never wanted to give the young woman the impression her fears were justified… And even though Riley was more experienced, she was the leader, and she was well versed in all the practical ways that a team leader needed, even if she was still new at putting them all into practice on the field.

Splitting up didn’t make sense, and Riley appreciated that on so many levels, but Ben and Michael had to appreciate Riley’s position, he couldn’t leave Katie, though he respected the fact he couldn’t run around with her in tow either. While they took the initial stand Riley left her be, safe and secure hopefully in their room, most of the students in the area that were to be evacuated were gone from the halls, only teams remained behind, with the occasional stubborn student determined to prove their worth… and if they had something to offer, why not let them stay? Riley wondered if that was just his Initiative honed thoughts… would that be how the X-men operated to, or were they so passionate about protecting their students they’d insist a complete evacuation, even at risk of losing their home, should things become completely unmanageable.

Maybe, while collecting Katie, Riley could swing by and pick up Michael… so the Scot might seem disgruntled and protest that it wasn’t worth the risk, but who cared, Riley was just as emotionally crippled as Michael was physically, hell, even more so, not that he’d admit it. If a team would stand by him and support him, Michael deserved every ounce of support to, as a fighter Hood was impeccable, a value to any team, and it just wouldn’t be fair if someone like Hood didn’t have a weakness or two, after all, you humans weren’t perfect, and to be human was to take risks. Michael was a risk, but in truth, so was having Lexi as a leader who was indecisive and inexperience, so was having Riley as a solider in the Initiative, when he feared even the sight of a gun, was the decision for his mother to give birth, with all the complications pregnancy could cause!
It’s all a risk! And some risks were well worth it.

Voices called out from the main team dorm hall, it was easy to see the main team still lurking in the call, the Hellions happened to roster both Connor and Catherine and knowing the two of them meant Riley didn’t even have to think about who was there. A pity Bishop wasn’t around, how a team leader could up and leave before his team was even ready to co-exist together! Though Bishop’s reasons were unknown, and could most likely be very reasonable, but in the dark, it seemed reckless and senseless. Connor was the only one in the team that had any indepth experience when it came to authority, let alone training itself. Everyone else had attitude that, had Riley not known Connor well, would have made the feral seem out of place amongst his team mates. They were all troubled though, all in need of guidance and support, leadership that would unit them instead of leaving each to fed solely for themselves, as appeared to be the way now as the members expressions told Riley on his approach.

It shouldn’t have surprised Riley, in fact come to think of it, Riley should perhaps have expected it, but Catherine was still there in the hall with her team, likely the Hellions were unsure on what to do, everyone was being shouted orders from all directions with the hellions just following the voice that was nearest to each of them. Catherine was not a fighter, not in this sense anyway, and Riley almost pushed his way past three kids younger then himself in order to reach the lingering hellions in the hall.

"Catherine," Riley’s voice hadn’t managed to draw Icarus’s attention as the winged youth seemed to have finished assessing possibilities with the other members that managed to gather, most seemed to be drifting off to follow whatever decisions had been laid down, leaving Catherine relatively unguarded from his decent upon her, a glance from Connor was ignored as Riley lowered his voice and edged closely by Catherine, "with no offence to you, I think the rest of your team are more then capable of dealing with things," If she wanted to stay or not Riley hadn’t yet managed to tell, but he had seen her in training… or more to the point, seen her lack of involvement in her training programs, so an arm pressed lightly about the back of her shoulders on the centre of her slender back and tried to usher her along with his determined expression.

"You should be half way out of the state by now," he stressed, "I don’t want you fighting me on this, and if you do I’ll just carry you to the escape route regardless, it’s your choice," Came a rather distressed insistence, even if Riley tried hard not to let his worry show. The sores on the knuckles of Riley’s right hand tingled from where he had damaged them during throwing a few punches, though it didn’t bother him the skin was broken enough to be noticeable, he’d suffered worse in his life. For now the guns were once again shoved into the side of Riley’s hip, sitting inside their holsters, safely away but still visible in glimpses as he moved. If he didn’t hurry, he might have to fight her team mates on the fact she shouldn’t be here, if they cared at all about her, the only one who had even noticed Catherine talking with Riley had been Connor who seemed to be clutching at a bag comfortingly against his own chest while looking just as confused as the rest of his team. Maybe once Catherine was sorted with, Riley could grab Katie and get the Hellion team to help guard Riley while he carried Michael’s body. He’d be defenceless otherwise, it was definitely worth a try… if he got smacked about carrying Michael, he’d probably get a verbal beating from Michael afterwards for being so reckless, or so he guessed from how Michael was talking earlier at one point.

TBC: Catherine, other Hellion members?… Logan maybe a little later…?

Re: OC Attack: An Encounter With the Hellions (2.43ish am)
Utter confusion reigned within the school grounds, the forms of frightened groups of students flitting from corridor to corridor, screams echoing throughout the school and darkened grounds. Glass from broken windows lay in glinting shards upon the bare wooden floors waiting to impale itself on bared feet.

The blonde haired mutant didn’t appear to frightened by the situation she now found herself in. Bed messed hair had been pushed irritably behind her ears, blue jeans pulled on in a hurry worn with trainers without socks. There was no bra under her crumpled t-shirt, not that she had enough breasts beneath her clothes for it to be too much of a problem.

Her agility mutation coupled with the older, more mature students meant that she wasn’t too concerned that she couldn’t keep herself away from the situation that threatened the school. But she was a little worried that Riley, without any mutant ability might be at more of a risk. Trying to shoulder the worry aside she glanced around the main team dorm hall, Riley was far older than her and more than capable of looking after himself.

Then, there he was … pushing his way towards her through the crush of students towards her. She felt relief at the sight of him, it took her a moment to establish if it were for the thought that he was safe, or the idea that he would make sure she was alright. What ever the reason she felt herself relax slightly, not knowing before who in the throng to follow, but now Riley was here she felt sure he would take charge of her.

"with no offence to you, I think the rest of your team are more then capable of dealing with things,"]His words brought a small stab of anger and injustice slicing through her, was she not as valued as any other of her team members? The situation being what it was she let his thoughtless words slide away from her, there would be time later for her to argue her point. It took a moment before she realised that his hand was on her back and he had begun to steer her away from the crowded room. "You should be half way out of the state by now, I don’t want you fighting me on this, and if you do I’ll just carry you to the escape route regardless, it’s your choice," Something in his voice didn’t brook for argument, she found herself letting him lead her without an argument. After all this was what she’d wanted wasn’t it… for him to lead her to safety. Agility might good at helping herself escape but she knew she wasn’t the best person to be helping others escape.

‘Riley.. Riley!’ She twisted slightly, escaping from his hand, only to catch it up in her own palm. A sudden light jumping in to her eyes as she turned to face him. ‘Where are we going?’ She was sure that they would be able to run away and hide for a bit together … perhaps without the interference of other people they might even be able to confront some of the issues that were facing them. Maybe they didn’t even need to come back to the school again? They could go away and perhaps get a house of their own? … did they really even need the school for protection? Her eyes shone with unanswered questions as she titled her head to look up at him.

For once there was no argument, at least at first, and Riley took the chance to keep up the pace, the sooner she was on her way to safety the better and if he could get her heading off before her argumentative tendencies kicked in then all the better for her in the long run. As painful as Catherine’s sharp tongue could be at times, it seemed to do just as much damage to herself at times and right now Riley really didn’t want to have to worry about her setting off a screaming match and getting herself shot as attention fell towards her.

"Riley.. Riley!" It was like the young woman had somehow sensed his worries and decided she wanted to do exactly what he didn’t want her to do, and that was both cause a scene and start a fight. He couldn’t let that happen and if Catherine though he wouldn’t hold his promise of dragging her to safety then she was about to realize different. The twisting figure moved away from his palms hold, though swiftly just as Riley was about to move to take hold of her slender arm with his larger hand, her fingers seemed to scoop his hand up and hold it, causing a brief moment of serenity inside of Riley’s rushed mind. It wasn’t the time for this, whatever this was she couldn’t just stand there, as always Catherine’s presence was a distraction, a disease to perfect as far as the chaotic order of battle was concerned. Without her it was such a simple way of life, and with her around it was infinitely more complicated, to get her away meant the simplicity would return with all its efficiency too.

"Where are we going?" Away had been the first thought, and yet the stillness of Riley’s mind allowed her words to echo a moment longer before he realized what she thought. There was a twisting eagerness inside of him, a want so strong to grab her hand and run, to run so hard that even someone like Wolverine would struggle to find their trail… sure given time and persistence it was possible they’d get discovered… and if it wasn’t the Initiative head hunting him Riley would have taken that risk, but he’s been running for over a year now, and they were still sitting out there waiting for him. There was an image, a scene from a nightmare so long past that Riley almost forgot where it had come from, but now it had returned, the image of a lovely house, one he has returned to, one he calls home. The face of two children just sitting at the window, their tiny palms pressed against the glass as their happy faces waited to greet him, and in there, somewhere behind them, was her, Catherine, standing patiently, understanding of his busy day, waiting for him to return to her after whatever shift of work he had just completed.. And just as she reaches for the curtains to pull them gently aside, it’s gone, fire and screams and crying and hands are grabbing him and forcing Riley to his knees to watch it all burn away.

"To somewhere safe," Because that’s exactly what his family needed right now, more danger thrown into their path, but Catherine had no one else to turn to, no one that Riley trusted at least, not after all that the few he did know of had done to her. "I have the address written here," The wallet was pulled out quickly, though with the hand she wasn’t holding, the fingers in her hold seemed hesitate a moment before slipping out of her grip to help retrieve a neatly folded sheet of paper from his wallet. "I don’t want you to show anyone where you’re going, I don’t want you to get into a cab unless you have to and are well clear of this area, I don’t want you to call anyone or visit anyone till you here word from me or someone from the X-men," The note was placed into her smaller palm and with it four fifty dollar notes were also deposited for her aid, "Once you get there you’ll be safe, so I want you to stay there and wait for me, or wait for word from me, I will contact you no matter what but you have to promise to be at this address, no where else," Riley knew it would have no dawned on her likely that he had no intention of going with her, he couldn’t risk it, it would be even more dangerous for her to be running with him then for her to be here fighting these people… at least as far as Riley was concerned.

"I won’t leave Katie here alone, I need to get her, plus my team is expecting me back, and you know of all of us I’ve seen the most in combat compared to most of them, I could be of help here," And he was nudging her towards the passageway once again, holding her gently yet firm and his voice though soft was unquestionably set on this discission. "So I’ll meet you at this address, do you understand Catherine, stay at this address," If he explained who was waiting for her, she might not feel comfortable enough to go, he couldn’t be sure, in addition one could never be certain that if mentioned outloud it might get overheard by the wrong ears… he had to make sure she was safe.

She blinked up into his face with no idea of what was running through his head. The idea that he might not be going with her had not entered into her thoughts. "To somewhere safe," For once she was happy to sit back and let Riley take control of the situation. Catherine knew her ex boyfriend was far more experienced in this sort of situation than she was, the Initiative had given him a good background in military training.

"I don’t want you to show anyone where you’re going, I don’t want you to get into a cab unless you have to and are well clear of this area, I don’t want you to call anyone or visit anyone till you here word from me or someone from the X-men,"
The young woman glanced down at the piece of paper and notes that he had slipped into her small hand. She stuffed them into the back pocket of her rather crumpled jeans. Cat didn't have time to question him as Riley at once began speaking again, explaining that she was to wait for him at the address which he had provided. Her expression was one of confusion as she realised that Riley would not be coming with her. Where would he be going?

"I won’t leave Katie here alone, I need to get her, plus my team is expecting me back, and you know of all of us I’ve seen the most in combat compared to most of them, I could be of help here," At first she imagined that he was going back just for Katie ... Catherine considered that to be a stupid idea, risk getting yourself killed for a puppy? She didn't think so! But fighting with his team was typically Riley, she should have thought that he wouldn't want to leave them. He was nudging her in the direction of one of the few secret passages she knew of whilst he was speaking. "So I’ll meet you at this address, do you understand Catherine, stay at this address," She glanced down at the floor and tensed her jaw. Her eyes flicked up to catch Riley's.

'Ok then, but promise you won't be long.' Though she knew it was a promise he couldn't keep she still found herself demanding if of him.

ooc: Did you want to fade out after your post and we can move to his family?
