One of the Nazgul
Information
Screen Name(s): RPGer2
Your Character
Character's Name: Nazgul 8, Wraith (called by Gollum), Ring-wraith, Nazgul, Black Rider (while on horse), Winged Messenger, Winged Terror, Fell Rider
Age: ? 4192 (from first appearance as a Ring-wraith to Bilbo’s Farewell Feast)
Race: Nazgul of Minas Morgul
Gender: Male (?)
Description: Often wears a cloak to seem as a normal man, but is nearly invisible without it. Only those wearing Rings of Power can see him in a normal ‘twilight’ form. In twilight form, he appears tall and strong, but pale white and disfigured.
Personality: Although he would seem to be a mindless being, as well as push that assumption, to most (even some of Sauron’s other servants), he is not. Under the black cloak, his mind still works. The only change to his mind is that he is completely subservient to Sauron. He also recognizes which Nazgul are above him, and does not challenge that. This Nazgul is the one to go to for information. Despite this, this Fell Rider is well-suited for battle, as he takes notes of any small weakness in the opponent.
Possesions: Black Cloak, Horse (if allowed), Black sword, Morgul Blade (if allowed)
History:
In the late second age, this Nazgul was a great king of Men. However, Sauron gave him a ring. Using the Ring to increase his longevity and power, this great king soon faded into relative anonymity when he became a Ringwraith. He was on many missions for Sauron, and served him faithfully until Sauron was defeated. For almost two thousand years, this Nazgul was in hiding, waiting to be called again for his Dark Lord.
Then, he was summoned by the Witch-king, Lord of the Nazgul. All together, they assaulted Minas Ithil, which they renamed Minas Morgul. Almost 1000 years later, Sauron openly declared himself, and retook Dol Guldur. This Nazgul was put in charge of Minas Morgul when the Witch-king left them.
Sample RP:
’Ringwraiths! The enemy is upon Mordor!’ Sauron’s voice calls
Upon the flying beast, a Nazgul shifts his weight slightly, causing the massive beast to turn and fly towards Mordor. As the other Nazgul screech and swoop lower, this one rises in the air.
Gazing down, he sees the relatively small force of their foes, and the forces already out of the Black Gate. Looking further in, he sees Orcs. The small, slow Orcs that he and the others lead. They march much slower than they could.
‘Do they wish to be motivated further, I wonder,’ he thinks to himself.
Landing the large beast within the Gate, near the back of the troops, the Nazgul dismounts. Looking for the captain of this group, he decides not to worry about him.
“What iss keeping you?” he asks the Orcs.
“The forces in front,” replies an Orc.
“Thenn keep moving,” he says back.
“But we can’t,” he says, looking worried.
“Go.”
Remounting his steed, the Orcs pick up a little speed. Tapping his mount, it spreads its wings. Without warning, it snaps forward, taking the Orc he talked to, armor and all into its maw. This causes the Orcs to run full speed and trample the Orcs in front of them. Taking back to the air, the Nazgul lands near the battle. Letting his mount battle on its own, he pulls out his sword. As he approaches, an Elf charges him. Pulling his blade up, the Elf’s attack is parried.
Moving to the right, he swings his sword around to slash at the Elf, who jumps back. As the Elf moves in for another attack, the Ring-wraith holds his sword in the way with both hands. Trying to go around, the Elf attacks again from the side, and the Ring-wraith swings his sword, hitting the Elf. He gets knocked down and back.
“Weak Elf. Now shall be your doom,” the Nazgul says to the Elf, moving his sword above him.
‘The Ring is in the mountain!’ Sauron’s voice cries thoughout the mind of the Nazgul.
Hissing at the Elf, the Nazgul calls down his mount. He leaves with the Nazgul, trying to make it to the Ring before it is destroyed.
