Re: Pachaug State Forest
Hey Guys, Im sorry it took me so long to get back here. Ive had a million things going on since we went camping and Im just now getting settle back in sort of lol
The haunted forest is in CT. The whole area has several legends that have sifted down thru the years. I also found out thru some online searching that the whole forest back in the 1600's was a large community but was never completely settled because the area was so haunted. There is a newspaper article about the legends here....Pachaug Forest Home To Ghostly Sightings
So anyways, about our weekend. We got rained out the first night. One of my members brought two kids with her camping, which wasnt what we had planned on, so we just took the kids and drove them around the forest the first night. We all rode in the truck bed while my husband drove. There was this one area that we passed by, that we knew was the gravesite of one of the legends called Maude's Grave. All three of us adults waved as we passed by, kind of like to acknowledge her. We not even one min after we did that it started to raina nd it rained hard! It poured on us all the way back to the camp. I dont think we wil be doing that again. Friday night was forecast rain but was supposed to clear up at night and then that happened. I wanted to kill the weather man on channel 3 lol When we got back to camp, we ended up realizing the only people wet were us three adults who all waved at the grave of Maude's, the two girls werent hardly wet at all and it didnt seem to matter that one of the adults was up against the truck cab like the two girls were. If you want to see the pictures we took that weekend you can go here... Camping Weekend Pictures
The second night we faired much better. The kids went home before night fall and the rest of us went checking out the forest again. We stopped at this one location we thought to be where a soldier still patrols his post. We started taking pictures and I pulled out my IR themometer and within a few mins we got a signifigant temp drop that went down so fast I could hardly count them out. We didnt get nothing in the pictures but noticed a sort of mist that seem to come up the road towards us. We were at a T type intersection, looking down into a dark dark road lol. After a while one of the other members had gone into my truck to get something he left inside the passenger side and left the door open. Later on it closed itself. None of us were near the truck. My dog was in the truck sleeping but even if he would have moved, that door needed some bit of force to shut it, which we later found out. I asked my husband what he thought of the incident and he didnt really want to believe something near him was capable of doing that I think lol So anyways, after all that excitement we headed back to camp and ended up calling it a night just because it was getting late and we were all tired.
So there you have it. That was our weekend in a nutshell. I hope I made up for such a long wait. We did have a lot of fun and ate awesome campfire food. We are definately going to do some more investigations there in the future.

Re: Pachaug State Forest
the picture where it looks like two small ones together. The first one with the light coming from the side we have no idea where it came from because the fire was not lit at the time. in the second picture taken moments later, there was nothing there. The "Orbs" were just the humidity. Still cant figure out what the lightness is from in the first of the two. There was nothing around that area that would reflect like that and Im certain it wasnt the moisture in the air. Just a weird one.

Sounds like you all had a great time, despite the rain event. Those are great pics Ellie! Nice crisp clear photos and yes, I also saw a couple of orbs in there too. I really liked the one of the fire - that was just a pretty pic. Thanks for sharing those with us!
