Parents Weekend
Would people please consider starting any threads they have planned for Parents Weekend. Try wrapping up any threads in the first and a half weeks uuuuunleeess you feel they're really important or whatever... your judgement call!
In anycase, if characters are able, lets get them moving on, Saturday night is a large family dinner in the dinning hall, all families welcomed to attend and whatnot.. I'll try and throw up that thread in a week or so but hopefully as soon as possible!
Also, consider letting families spend time in the dorm rooms with your team mates, even if it's brief... have a team lunch together saturday or sunday, even if it's not RPed you could mention it as happening, may offer some character developments or somesuch?

Anyway... Matt, any interest in doing something briefly with Aisha and Ororo? No problem if you aren't, I've got enough threads to keep me busy but it's as close to parents as dear Isha gets, might be interesting.
And Uz I don't know what you had planned for Jess' brother or when to bring him in but the parents day and connection both have to their dirtbag of a father might make a good backdrop, even just as a foreshadow thing if you're not ready to bring him in or have other plans I could have Jess start to mention his father unhappily.
That's all I've got at the moment. I shall go through my bios and see who actually has interested parents etc.
I think the idea is pretty solid. We could have an invitation somehow wind up at Jess' father's house, only to be rejected (much like Tyler would do every year or something?). Alexander could then easily find the letter, realise he has a half brother somewhere and come to at least see him. The only thing strange is that Alexander isnt striking me as someone who'd make that much effort, but he's got a good heart so he could feel obliged to at least come see his brother.
On the other hand, if Alexander isnt up and running by then, I was thinking he could send a letter back to Jess, you know, just a hey, im your brother, our father is a jerk type formality. That way Jess would know where to find Alexander for when the CO eventually starts.
Dust will probably not be showing up (though that would be fun), so Armaan will get a chance to mope about for a while.
As for Remy, ill see to it he does something special with Nadia.
You know me and decision-making. Anyway the first option sounds good. Maybe something more selfish for motivation? Like wondering how living without his dad would be and if his half-brother would turn out differently as a result? Or just plain curiousity?
If he isn't up the letter idea sounds fine as well. It might be nice to have them introduced before the CO but introducing them in it also has it's perks so whatever.
Other characters:
After going through my bios it turns out a bunch of my characters have parental issues so I don't have too many.
Tessa is very close to her adoptive parents, there is a possibility of them showing up and her being happy to see them.
Also Murray seems one of the few on goos terms, ironically enough since he's such a screwed up kind of character. It might be interesting to get to play him a bit and a remotely resembling happy him a challenge so his dad and step-mom will show, possibly bringing his beloved step-sister (also developing mutant abilities) if allowed.
Michael's parents don't know how much of a toll his powers take on him and he's been letting them down gently alot so that could be interesting too but it might be a little too close to Murray, the two characters with little sisters and problem powers so he might be put on the backburner.
Christine's parents are like mine and I really don't want to play my parents so I'm leaving her out of it.

I'd only throw in one post or so for the big dinner thingy to introduce Aurora's parents - the rest of my guys either doesn't have any parents OR they're kinda... um... distant.

When will Nadia be able to meet her other dimensional half brother? Or has that guy not introduced that charrie yet? And is there some kind of potato sack race for Nadia and Remy to participate in or something that weekend?
I think I will have Lenora visit Kylora. Don't think Aldrea's parents will show though. Buuut, she will get a nice little package. Hopefully Julia and Nic will be up and running by the end of the weekend as well...

Obviously I have Scott's parents coming... Tessa will meet them and Scott is going to tell the team who they really are (Oh, by the way, my daddy rules over the kingdom of fairies in this land.. xD) So there shall be some interesting times ahead if you're willing for some Tessa posts..
May obviously won't have any parents that are able to visit her, being from an alternate future so that may cause her to get really home sick and miss her deceased family. This will be more of a wound for May as she'll be reminded of everything she lost.. her mum, her dad and she knew her mother was pregnant. I may have May pretend she's going on a trip to see her family, when in truth she'll just spend the weekend hiding in the secret tunnels in the school. I can use it as an excuse to also get a few useful things up in her little nest that may come in handy during the school's occupation. Some fresh stash of food and drink and whatnots..
I don't think Riley's mother and father will be able to see Scott or his family, simply because when Riley was taken Martha not only lost him but she ended up losing her baby too from the sever depression and since then she just stopped believing in things. Even now that they have him back he's not who he used to be, he seems so distant and detached from them.. -pictures Riley cheerfully chatting away to Scott while his parents sit quietly and awkwardly at the table thinking their son has completely lost his mind-
Chris (the kid staying with Logan) will spend time with Connor and Logan most likely, and the girls, Connor will hover around Logan and Chris will probably be hoping that Logan will let him stay with them so he'll be doing his best to be noticed by Logan. Remember the boy grew up being neglected often so he'll thrive from the attention and want to put his best foot forward. He IS a human though, and his mutant gene is of the kind that shouldn't be activated but is there, likely to be passed down to his children when he's older (As was the case for example with Slipstream who had inactive gene kickstarted). I'll try and put up a bio of him soon to help.. he's street smart and has only been brought off the street for the last two weeks, so he may be bright and good with speaking and seem smart enough, but he can't read or write and doesn't know basic math skills or anything. If the girls spend a lot of time with him, I'm sure they'll start to notice these things! He'll also want to know all about their parents!
I may have Porter's adopted parents turn up, give the twins some lovin' xD -ignores Porter's seething glares at the guy who dared comment on porter's pinkness-
hmmm...Max has his brothers coming down, James Chadstone's a lawyer but still pretty messed up inside. He did really well with moving on and making a life for himself but he was sexually abused by his dad for a few years (hence him running away) and he's never been able to get to Max and if he ever tried his dad said he'd cut Max off entirely from the family and Max wouldn't have handled that at all. He'll be cautious and uncomfortable whereas the youngest half brother will be very well mannered and outgoing. A modest Chadstone? Dear lord.. .the world is ending!
Not sure of any others, no plans at this point in any case, if anyone has any comments about anything ooor about interacting with any specific character as always I'm here and open for ideas!

Ok... Lets see.... Michael will be out of it..... hes going to spend some time with Ben's parents..Scott.... hmm His dad may turn up...... due to the whole dying thing...... Logan ...he'll be busy being an actual dad..and surrogate parent
Crystals parents are dead, as are Matts (well at least as far as he knows) so she'll be helping Amber and he wil be remeniscing at best... as for George..........well frankly he doesnt give a damn...
Soo that leaves Hank ... ok he told his folks about Zia .. and Jade and... sighs They will turn up in the front hall yelling Heeeennrryyy. We're here to meet our familly ! Wish us luck!
Stares at Cat and Paige .. weeeel Cat doesn't have any parents so that kinda rules her out and Paige's parents only left a week ago when she got better from pneumonia and its a long way for them to come again... so I guess I'll be quite out of the parents day weekend.
