Perfection meets... the very opposite (Circe+Tempest)
Silently, Tempest sneaked into the Danger Room hoping he was the only one there.
With a sigh of relief, he went to the control board and checked the panels.

*Ok.... enemies: none; simulation: landscape (5 trees); extras: none; protection... ah, protection! Protection Mode...." Looking a bit puzzled at the menues that spread in front of him, he opened a folder under Protection Mode saying "Personal ProtMods".

"There!" Tempest muttered finding a file entitled with "Storm". He had heard rumors about the X-Men's training room being able to keep Storm's powers only within it.
That was just what he needed.

Kane entered the training area while a landscape appeared in it. A few trees grew around him.

*Ok... let's go*
Slowly, Tempest loosened his emotional control and could feel his power immediately, flowing through every single vein.

The barrier he usually kept up within prevented his powers to take over him on the one hand but limited the use by will enormously as well. In this state, it costed an amount of energy greater than usual.

*First something easy*

He concentrated on the air around him, tried to feel it, be it. His eyes started to glow whitish as he made it speed from one second to another in one direction.

*It works!* he thought not believing his senses... and right as he doubted it, the wind reacted to his confusing and became a small tornado.

"F***!" Tempest shouted struggling to get it back under control. The more he fought it, the wilder it became.
He began to panic and sudden anger rose in him.

"Why can't I control you?!" he asked the savage storm. Rain clouds appeared, grew thicker and darker. Lightning stroke and hit a tree whose remains started to burned.

Unable to do anything against his emotions, terrified of his own savage powers and hopeless to ever be able to control them, Tempest sank down at a false tree and stared accusingly at the striking flashs, his eyes still burning of lightblue fire.

"Excuse me?! You might prefer to get soaked but do you have an idea how long I spent in front of the mirror this morning to fix my hair?"
A beautiful girl of about 20 stood at the training rooms entrance just out of the wild elements' reach and glared at him.

"I can't stop it..." Kane whispered close to tears. He rarely reached that state of depression usually due to his emtional control but having given up every single barrier to train, he couldn't help it.

"Oh dear, I can't hear you!" the ebony-haired shouted through the thunderstorm's noise. She made a declining gesture and stepped into the rainy area.

For some reason, she didn't seem to get wet which was weird since the rain wasn't just pouring but appeared to be like a constant front of water.

As she came closer, Tempest saw the reason: The rain evaporated coming closer than 30cm to her body.

Seeing his puzzlement, the stranger laughed and stopped just some steps away from Kane.
"I am Aurora Garnet Ferell, also known as Circe. My power is to command the powers of fire which is why I can keep the water from touching me."

"Name is Tempest... I... got some link to the weather" he laughed bitterly. "Obviously I'm not able to control them and I just don't know why! It just doesn't listen to me..."

Aurora frowned at him and leaned against the same tree.
"So if I understood you right, your power is the same as Storm's except for your inability to control it? Sorry" An apologetic smile appeared on her face. "this was rude"

"Nah" Kane finally looked at her. "'sok, you're right. 'm a loser"

Garnet rolled her eyes. "Oh well, you can either drown in your self compassion or try to do something against it. You do not seem very self-confident to me and *this* might be your whole problem. What is the weather to you?"

Now it was Tempest's turn to frown. "What it is to... well, some annoying thing obviously stronger than me which I got probs with?"

The fiery beauty shook her head seriously.
"No. It's either your friend or your slave but NOT superior than you are. This is what you have to keep in mind. Ask it to help you or command it, treat it like someone you love or something inferior but NEVER be afraid of its power. It does what you want it to do, be it of its own free will" she smiled at the thought of it "or because you force it. The result is the same! However, I tend to see my element as a devoted friend"

She let a flame appear in her hands and held one over it so the rain wouldn't kill it. "It would follow my orders either way, this knowlege is the base for my strength."

She lifted herself up in the air using the heat around her and the nature's laws.
"Now, I'd like to train normally. Would you please try to use what I tried to teach you"

Tempest had listened eagerly and found some sense behind it.
Getting up, he took a deep breath and after a glance at Aurora, looked straight into the thunderstorm's center, trying to force it away.

"I heard Storm uses verbal commands as well to focus her power" Circe advised him with a smile.

"Ok... I sure feel silly but....." he took another deep breath and glared at the clouds again.

"I command you to withdraw!" Kane said loudly and put all his will in those words, imagining the clouds to disappear.
He wanted it to be. He didn't doubt.

Kane had never before noticed the Danger Room's ceiling was actually blue.

"Great! So, I'll modify the Room's settings if you don't mind..."
Circe went to the control room happy she had been able to help him.

"That's only the first step though... it has to follow your commands totally, so keep on training!" she shouted.

Re: Perfection meets... the very opposite (Circe+Tempest)
protection mode >> Personal ProtMods >> Combined >> Storm, Circe

Enemies: 10 (various)

Extras: enemy target specified >> Circe
repeat mode: no repeat

... was what the screen read after Aurora had modified the settings.

"Erm... you there?... what was it again... Aurora? There're some guys
appearing outta nowhere having some 'gonna kill ya' look on their ugly
faces. Should I panic?"
the hesitant voice of Tempest sounded from the inner area.

"No" Circe re-entered and lifted herself gracefully in the air - a fire
corona around the slender body.
"They will attack me only"

As to a silent signal, the artificial opponents turned to the ebony-haired
girl and began to attack from various sides.
Some were able to fly, some shot with bows, guns or energy rays.

"First: the birds" she announced and whispering some words, a fiery figure
left her hands, growing as it speeded towards the flying enemies. Nearly
tenderly, it touched one after one lightly and shortly before they burned to
ashesin a sudden combustion, Kane could recognize the form befoe it just
disappeared. It was a phoenix.

With a sideglance, Aurora saw his confused expression.
"It's not real. Well, the fire is but the shape is nothing but a spleen of
me. I find it much easier to control my flames in combat when they mean
something to me like the phoenix. At least if I have to guide the fire's
movements and direction as against opponents which tend to fast changes of
their position."

She landed and decided quickly for the next aim while a fiery shield around
her kept every shot attack away.

"Now the armed one" Again, she whispered some words while squatting down
shortly. Another figure jumped from her hands which turned out to be a
gepard. It was the same as with the phoenix but this time, Garnet had no
time for comments.

The martial arts party of those holograms had decided on attacking just now
and kept her busy with defence, conter attacks and ducking away from hits
and kicks while moving her creature made of flames the way she wanted it to
go.

Watching, Tempest finally realized the long slit in her dress nearly
exposing her legs fully was not the latest fashion but necessary to be able
to fight properly.

After some minutes, he began to grin. She might have been perfect regarding
her mutant powers but martial arts was a totally different topic.
Trying to do everything at once since she had 5 opponents around her
attacking, Circe had to take much more than she gave out.

"Oh heavens, I just can't do that" she suddenly shouted in a frustrated tone
and closed just for the split of a second her eyes taking a deep breath.

"Watch ou...." Tempest began seeing all those holograms attacking at
once.... and forgot to add the "t".

Circe's body began to burn or at least it seemed so as an aura of fire
roared around her.
Like a small supernova, it let everything nearby just evaporate without
hurting her even a little.

Breathing heavily, she sat down, flashing a half-smile at the white-haired
young man.

"As you see, I do have my weaknesses as well. The martial arts are something
I most certainly need to train harder... not today though. What do you think
about training together? I could let something burn and you could try to
summon rain or similar...?"

Not saying anything, Kane nodded and desperated feeling something
towards here. Not love... but he wanted to be friends with her.

*Damn!* he thought following her proposal...

------------------------------------------------------------

After some hours of exhausting training, Circe looked doubfully at Kane.
"You seem to be tired"

Tempest tried a smile and sat down.
"Yeah.. after all, it's the first time I used my powers in a controled way." He breathed heavily wiping some sweatdrops away from his forehead.

"Well then, I propose we stop here. If you have the feeling you could need some training sessions with me, just ask"

Brushing the dust from her dress, Aurora landed on the ground again and the fiery aura disappeared.
With some habitual gesture, she pushed her hair back and went to the control room.

"I will cancel the program. Have a nice day!"

Training Program finished
the electronic voice said shortly after.

"Bye" Tempest shouted and Circe was gone.

Slowly, the white-haired mutant got up and approached the exit.
*That went much better than I thought.... gonna need some outdoor training but seems it won't take that long....*
