Qualified entrant??
The basic rules for counting the number of particpants I feel needs to be addressed for all class competitors and I brought it up at the comp bd. mtg at the 98 Run-Offs meeting; (didn't seem to get much response) put quite simply: if you show up for a race and you have some sort of problems and are not able to race and you are not refunded your entry fee, then you should be counted as a competitor. My first year in CSR (on probation) I was trying my best to get out and compete to help the cause, being my first year I had some of the normal teething problems, I ended up not counting towards the participation numbers for 2 or 3 races. This does not seem right to me and I'd like to see everyone speak up to have this changed. Again this effects all classes.

Re: Qualified entrant??
I moved this post as it was in the CSR roster.

I agree completely with this: anyone who gets a car on the track (even for an untimed practice session) and therefore forfeits the right to a refund should get counted.

As the rule is applied now, one must either qualify for or start a race. Breaking in an untimed session and not being able to continue the weekend doesn't count. We lost at least 3 possible car counts in 1999 because of this exact situation and by the slimmest of margins, went on probation in 2000.

Doesn't seem fair, logical or right. If you pay to play and play even a little, you should get credit for the effort.
