(Real Robot) Sturmvogel II VF-22S
Name: VF-22S Sturmvogel II
Type: Stealth Veritech (Variable Engineering and Robotic Integration TECHnology) Fighter
Mobility Type: Ground and air
Control Type: Manual
Years Running:
Previous Records: Macross 7, Macross Dynamite 7
Appearance:
Battroid Mode-

GERWALK Mode-

Fighter Mode-

Armament: HOWARD/GENERAL DYNAMICS GV-17L GUN POD x 2- The main weapon of the VF-22S is a pair of stealth 35mm gun pods that fires a combination of uranium-tipped armor-piercing bullets, high explosive armor-piercing bullets and tracer rounds. It has a firing rate of two thousand rounds per minute. The gun pods are stored in special storage bays located in the legs of the VF-22S and can be ejected to be held in the hands in Battroid and GERWALK modes. In Fighter mode, they fired from a fixed position in a concealed port. Each gun pod carries eight hundred rounds but because they hold their ammo internally, they require the attention of a trained maintenance crew to be reloaded.
ERLIKON AAB-7.5 AIR-TO-AIR LASER GUN- A turret-mounted, high powered laser weapon used primarily to combat aircraft and missile defense. In Battroid mode, it is mounted on top of the head and has an can fire in any direction. In GERWALK and Fighter modes, it is located on the forward dorsal section of the main body but it can only fire to the rear. It can also be fired continuously for cutting purposes.
MAULER REB-22B LASER GUN x 2- Two sets of laser guns that are semi-fixed inside of the VF-22S’ arms. These lasers are geared to take down other mech and aircraft with strong, rapid-firing laser pulses. The lasers have ports that allow the lasers to fire forward and backward. In Battroid and GERWALK modes, the lasers can be aimed by moving the arms but in Fighter mode, the arms are fixed so the lasers can only fire straight forward and straight ahead.
BIFORS BML-02S ALL-ENVIRONMENT RAPID-FIRE MICRO-MISSILE CLUSTER x 8- Eight micro-missile launchers are mounted all over the VF-22S. These micro-missiles can launch one at a time or all at once, creating a salvo of eight missiles. The VF-22S holds a total of 48 micro-missiles.
Wing Hard Point x 4- Four hard points, two on each wing, enables the VF-22S to carry added missile payloads. Each hard point can carry one medium-range high-maneuverability (MRHM) missile, one long range missile, three medium range missiles or five short range missiles. The missiles must all be fired or dumped before the VF-22S can go into Battroid mode.
Concealed Missile Bay x 2- The VF-22C contains two concealed missile bays on the lower rear area of the fuselage which can hold missiles, bombs, or other tactical ordinance within the body of the VF-22. The advantage to this system is that while enclosed, the payloads can be fully concealed by the active stealth system of the Sturmvogel with no danger of detection. The bays are large enough to hold one long-range missile, two medium-range missiles, or equipment of approximately equal size can be held in each bay. The missile bays can even store and launch a nuclear missile each.
Armor: HOWARD PBS-03F PIN-POINT BARRIER SYSTEM- The PBS can generate a single pinpoint barrier that can be moved anywhere on the mecha and used as a shield against incoming attacks. Because of the large amount of energy the PBS uses, it cannot operate while firing any of the VF-22S’ laser weaponry.
Shield x 2- A pair of shields are mounted on the sides of the arms in Battroid and GERWALK modes. These shields provide protection for the VF-22S in tandem with the PBS. In Fighter mode, the shields become stabilizer fins.
History:
Special Attacks: Pinpoint Barrier Punch- This attack requires the PPB (PinPoint Barrier) to move to the hand of the VF-22S. The VF-22S can then punch a target without fear of damaging its hand. This attack has the ability to punch through the hull of a ship or a space station.
Pinpoint Barrier Barrage- A series of four rapid Pinpoint Barrier Punches followed by a powerful flying kick, also using the PPB and a strong vernier thrust. The momentum produced by the verniers will send the target flying away.
Pinpoint Barrier Slash- In Fighter Mode, the VF-22S will fly by its intended target and clip it with its wing. With the protection of the PPB, the wing is turned into a blade-like implement and cuts through the target without sustaining damage itself.
Self-Destruct System- The VF-22S is equipped with a self-destruction system that can produce a powerful explosion that will obliterate anything within a twenty foot radius. It can be programmed to detonate with a time delay of up to sixty minutes. The escape pod will detach from the fighter before it explodes.
Special Features: Battroid Mode- Running Speed: 192 kmph
Max Flying Speed (in Earth-like atmosphere): 1072 kmph (Mach 1)
Capable of hovering
Capable of performing the Pinpoint Barrier Punch and Pinpoint Barrier Barrage
Usable Weapons- GV-17L gun pod x 2, AAB 7.5, REB-22B x 2
GERWALK Mode- Max Flying Speed (in Earth-like atmosphere): 1072 kmph (Mach 1)
Capable of hovering
Capable of VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing)
Usable Weapons: All except for any missiles inside of the concealed missile bay
Fighter Mode- Max Flying Speed at 10 000m or less above sea level: 3572 kmph (Mach 3.5)
Max Flying Speed at 10 000-30 000m: 5085 kmph (Mach 5.06)
Max Flying Speed at 30 000m and above: 22 455 kmph (Mach 22+) (for five seconds before overheating)
Cruising Speed: Mach 5-6
Capable of achieving orbit over an Earth-class planet without additional rocket assistance
Capable of atmospheric re-entry
Maximum Rate of Ascent: 61,900 meters/minute
G Limits: +60.0 to -45.0G
Usable Weapons: All
ASS (Active Stealth System)- The ASS actively bends radar and other sensor waves (as opposed to merely reflecting) away from the hull of the VF-22S, making the Sturmvogel II invisible to most electromagnetic sensor systems. It is still detectable by optical detection systems (i.e. cameras). Since the ASS is an active system rather than a design feature, it can be disabled if the system itself is damaged.
Detachable Limbs- When the VF-22S’ arms and legs receive critical damage, they can be ejected from the VF-22S. No critical systems are located in any of the limbs so the Sturmvogel II’s functions are not hindered without them. However, without the arms, the gun pods can’t be used in GERWALK and Battroid modes.
Escape Pod- The cockpit of the VF-22S also doubles as an escape pod with a reinforced hull. It lacks any thrusters but it does have a powerful location beacon and can sustain its integrated life support system for twenty-four hours after ejection. It also is equipped with a set of parachutes in case of ejection within atmosphere.
Laser Targeting System- Range: 100 miles
Inertia Vector Control System (IVCS)- A complex system of vernier thrusters that highly boosts the agility of the VF-22S. Basically, thrusters of varying sizes are located all over the body of the VF-22S, including the arms and legs. Not only is the agility of the mecha improved but the hand-to-hand capabilities as well because of the verniers on the limbs.
Optional Fold Boosters- Fold boosters are a set of boosters that allows faster-than-light travel. By folding space, one can more or less instantaneously teleport across vast stretches of space. On the VF-22S, fold boosters can only be used in Fighter mode and must be ejected in order to transform into its other two modes.
