Reality of Uveitis just sinking in
Reading about other people's accounts makes me even more afraid and the reality of this disease is begining to hit me.
Can anyone direct me to a Uveitis specialist in Texas? I live in Austin. If not in Texas, I am willing to travel to other cities like Boston.
I have had Uveitis for the past 2 years and cannot believe there exists a whole support group I never knew.
It is very difficult to live with this condition and I have getting very disheartened to be constantly dependant on Prednisolone, Voltarin and Homatropine - like my American Express card, I can never leave home without them. :-)
I also feel a general malaise feeling every time it flares up with is 2-4 times a month.
All blood tests for the root cause of this have been negative. But my Iris continues to shed cells. They did find my ESR rate to be 32 which is elevated.
With regularity, it flares around my menstrual cycle and also when I an stressed. The sides of my necks look and feel swollen and also my body temperature is elevated.
Any help, guidance or advise on what to do next would be a God send. Should I just accept it as gracefully as I can and wait my turn on cataracts and blindness with continued steroid use.
I ordered some alternate healing treatements for Uveaitis like Serrazyme, Carlsons Fish Oil and MSM eyedrops
from visionworks.com. Is anyone familiar with this.
Thank you for taking your time to read this.
