Regarding the Knowledge of Teams in the Institute
Welcome to Xavier’s. Arriving to the school would be a big change for the lives of the new students, but as far as they are aware, it is only a school for mutants to learn how to handle themselves. A large body of the school is basically unaware of the X-men’s involvement with the school or the school teams having any sort of ‘real’ purpose – though non-members of teams can grow suspicious and gain knowledge that *something* may be fishy in their school.
This means that X-men is not a subject to be hand over the dinning tables or in the rec hall. After all, this is a secret agency of superheroes once you get to the point of the matter, they aren’t meant to be publicly discussed and if they are, digression must be taken.
The teams are called Squadron’s, all schools tend to have teams of some sort, it should be too suspicious for people to know about the teams. The teams purpose however is. As far as the majority of the school is aware the Squadrons are only for mutants to learn how to train with their powers. The Danger Room is under ground in the restricted area, non-members are not meant to know any of the restricted areas and are not to go wandering down there. (If you want to have a character find their way down there for story reasons and character development, you MUST ask permission in the role play area so we can think it over, we don’t want every student waltzing down there discovering the top-secret identity of the X-men as being their teachers!
Now… quite obviously if you are raised in the school and you are related to the X-men then you are bound to know who they are… Also a majority of X-villains seem to know where they are as well XD.
For NOW.. New Evo has it that people are not aware of Xavier’s institute as being a school for mutants. Once the Criminal offences takes place it’s going to be publicly revealed.
There are a few bogus teams in the school. These teams are filled with mutants but mutants that are NOT part of the possible X-men recruits. Students who don’t show the potential for such extreme lifestyles but still put into teams as a cover for the other ‘X-men recruits’ who are around. These bogus teams are unaware of the restricted areas of the institute and spend most of their time training in the outer grounds with the teachers and taking part in the extreme courses the school has. The bogus teams are located on the Second floor and currently there is only four of these ‘fake’ teams (All NPCs and not mentioned at this point in time, characters may apply for membership on these fake teams if they so desire).
