Secrecy at the Institute
Alright, so I'm admittedly a little foggy on the matter. I was of the understanding that the larger portion of the student body was unaware of the mutant populace at their school, not to mention the X-Men. However, I'm finding posts containing blatant use of powers in public areas of the Institute. Am I wrong, is there an explanation for this(like a daily telepathic mind-wipe or something?), or is this simply a school where the clueless kids shrug away the "weird stuff"?

I only bring this up so I know how much I can abuse Jamie's power. Is he a one-man janitorial and cafeteria service, or just a guy that gets around a lot? *taps his chin* Maybe the new school janitors are twins...

Re: Secrecy at the Institute
You might want a response from Ann or Matt or Angie but to generally clarify a little bit I'm guessing you might be mixing up the Mass. Academy with the institute.

At Xavier's almost everyone is a mutant with few exceptions (the faerie people, a few other creatures with magic instead of actual genetic mutant powers) so there's no secrecy there. The general population of the outside world doesn't know it's an academy for mutants, they think it's just for gifted students so there would be secrecy there but inside the school almost all have powers.

The actual X-men teams on the otherhand are secret. The general student populace doesn't know about the existance of teams so those are kept secret within the school but the mutant powers are common knowledge.

I believe there's a topic in the rules section about the secrecy of the X-men, that might help a little too.

Hope this clarifies things a little! :)

Keeping your post in mind and re-reading the threads relevant to the issue, it's all painfully clear. Smacking myself in the forehead is the only way to regain my honor... *smack*

You're spot on as far as I can tell. Thank you kindly.

Lol that's okay, we all have those moments where we overlook the obvious. I know I've done it before and smacking the head certainly helps :D

You are quite welcome!
