Seeking Sanctuary - In need of a teacher; Bring sedatives !
After several days of endless walking with little rest or food, Jinlo set down against the fence railings that surrounded the perimiter of a large collection of buildings that looked more like a stately home or palace, yet having spent her entire life in Hell's Kitchen any thing larger than a shack was a palace in Jinlo's eyes. Deciding to take a short rest before continuing with her flight from the city and the law, Jinlo rumaged through her back pack looking for what little traces of food that she may have still left . After several minutes of frantic and repetative searching, Jinlo resigned and conceaded to hunger, lurching her head backwards she rested the back of her head within the gaps between the railings. Her gaze eventually shifting towards the large structure that sat at the core of the permiter, illuminated in the warming glow of the morning's dawn.

Staring out accross the long winding lawns and gardens that spiraled out from the building, Jinlo's eyes scanned over the windows watching as the lights behind the curtains slowly came to life, as the occupants of the buildings emerged from their sleep and made their preparations for the new day ahead of them. Deep down Jinlo envied the occupants of what she guessed was a boarding school, their lifes were undoubtedly far greater than hers. Jinlo's quiet musings on the life beyond the railings were broken short as passing postman stopped close by to clear out the letters from the near by mail box. "You don't wanta be staring there too long" The postman spoke, his tone almost devoid of any sense, the yearly drawings of a mundain task seemingly numbing the persons vocabulary. "That pace is full o' freaks, you'd best not linger too long unless you want to be their prey" The post man continued as he emptied out the mail box of it's contents, his gaze connecting with Jinlo's before nodding at the shear look of fear and horror on her face.

Taking a few steps closer the postman set his bag on the floor before crouching down close to Jinlo, the look on Jinlo's face was full of fear and panic as the proverbial stranger knelt down beside her. "Here, you ain't looking to well why don't you come with me and we'll go find you some help from a cop" The postman offered, in what sounded like a grunt as he tried to keep his balance, on the balls of his feet. The reaction on Jinlo's part was not what the postman; despite his good intentions were not what he had expected. As Jinlo frantically tried to scramble away from the postman, the fact that the postman was too close to her for comfort coupled with the offer to find aid from a police officer, something that would be the last item on her list of priorities, she had commited murder, she was not likely to be handing herself into the police any time soon.

"Woah woah, calm down luv, i'm want to help ya" The postman reasoned as Jinlo's sprawling caught him off guard, being that it was not the reaction he was expecting, however he could not of expected what had happened, as Jinlo kicked out at the postman's face, the whole statement, calm down luv setting off the alarm bells within Jinlo's mind, which intensified as the postman moved to what she saw as an attempt to restrain her, causing flash backs from her employer's attempt to rape her to re-imerge to memory. As the postman buckled over backwards stunned from the kick to his face, Jinlo frantically gathered her scattered belongings, before scrambling to her feet and running as far and as fast as her tired and fatiqued legs could move.

Rounding the corner at the end of the road Jinlo continued down the path shortly before comming to a standstill at what seemed to be the main driveway to the complex, looking behind her she could see that postman was drawing close, blood tricking down from his cut lip. Unsure of what the man wanted with her, Jinlo looked about trying to figure out what she was going to do now. Looking towards the complex, Jinlo figured she would take her chances with the so called freaks, seeing it would be a better escape than what the postman would have instore for her. Without a second thought Jinlo ran and threw herself against the gate, each time she connected with the gate, sharp pains shot through her body eminating from her now redened arms, yet the gate shown no signs of budging, on what was to be her final attempt the gate gave way with a dull buzzing sound.

Stumbling forward, Jinlo picked herself up, before turning to the gate and slamming it shut, even if the gate was broken it would atleast buy her some time, if the postman had chosen to brave the rumours that he had heard and chose to spread. Running down the long winding gravel path, Jinlo felt her feet give way benief her, before falling head long into the grit like gravel, cutting and grazing her skin. Despite wincing initially at the pain, Jinlo scrambled to her feet and continued running, knowing that what ever she had just suffered from the gravel would be nothing in comparision to what the persuer would do to her if he caught her. Yet unknown to her the postman had called off his persuit, not wanting to risk what lay beyond the fence railings, knowing that Jinlo was not the risk of what the lies and malicious propaganda spoke about the institution.

Throwing herself up the steps leading to the front door, Jinlo took a few more weiry steps before colapsing agaist the large oak doors, despite nearing passing out from exhaustion and hunger Jinlo used what ever strengh she had to knock at the front doors of the institute, her entire body aching from fatique and the pain of her hands conecting against the wood, Jinlo's continual knocking at the front door started to subdue. Falling limp against the door, she could feel that her throat had became hoarse, without realising she had started screaming "Someone help me!" in frustation, as she hammered against the door with what little strength she had left.

Re: Seeking Sanctuary
Just missing mail box pick up was on her list of top ten evils that didn’t include evil personified by what could have fallen as a candidate for the 21st century Shirley Temple. It was a mystery on how her mother so much preferred the ancient form of letter writing to the lightning speed communication of the internet. Something about being more personal despite the higher risk of getting lost. The only reason Len believed that this primitive form of communication still existed? You couldn’t send cookies through e-mail. The sugar type, not the computer type.

And there, as if mocking her and her inability to make it all the way down before he left too far to even be chased down the block, the postman was seen out of a hall window, chatting with some girl. Rushing out of the shower as she realized the time didn’t help at all, only make her slip. Tussling freshly washed locks that were still damp, Lenora groaned.

“Mom’s gonna have to wait an extra day or so,” Len muttered. It meant another day of hiding the letter in case little girls who could pass through walls decided that they wanted to alter a few words. Again. It took an angry call from her brother to discover how badly altered from its intended. The incident also led to her handwriting letters the old fashioned way. Typing was easier to read, but her scrawl was harder to edit and reprint.

What was left now was to tuck the letter into her pocket and watch Mr. Postman disappear into the distance without her post in his bag. Or watch him seemingly attacked then chasing the girl by the fence. That was out of the ordinary, even in a place where half of the residents could blow a hole in the ground without a sledgehammer. Postmen should be the ones chased, at least by small dogs. They weren’t supposed to be in hot pursuit of what she could see now was a young woman. Very curious, and in a moment, Len decided that someone needed a hand.

If it weren’t for stumbling on stairs despite legs long enough for skipping steps, Len would have made it sooner. Jogging easily down the hall, it hadn’t looked like someone getting mugged. And no shooting or knives, but people running from each other always meant that either there was a game of tag going on or that a Good Samaritan could figure out the problem.

She’d been meaning to run out to the gate, but it seemed as if it wasn’t needed. Furious knocks barraged the front doors and mingled with the muffled cries of a voice behind them. It was the urgency of the screams that picked up her pace as Len crossed the entrance hall and fumbled with the lock with a furrowed brow and a frown. And the frown became a look of confusion when it revealed the girl she’d seen from the window.

“Oh geez, what-?” She knew how to deal with door to door salesmen and stubborn churchgoers determined to convert someone on their doorstep, but she couldn’t slam a door on a person on the verge of a breakdown. Kneeling to make up for her height, Len switched to comfort mode, as best as she could when this unknown stranger made it hard for her to decide how to help.

“It’s okay, it’s…” Len attempted to soothe. “What happened? Was it the mailman?” She’d seen the girl attack the man, but it wasn’t him who had been chased. Hopefully there wasn’t going to be any lawsuit against the post office and their employees. Resting a hand on the girl’s shoulder, Len looked for someone else who could explain why people would come a-banging on the door.

“Come on, you’re safe here. What’s wrong?”

Re: Seeking Sanctuary
Stumbling forward slightly as the door opened, as the large solid oak door slowly slid into the building, Jinlo froze up slightly as the person behind the door came into view, the postman's words still playing on her mind, causing an air of hesitance to linger around her in confronting one of the supposedly many occupants of the large campus like compound. Slumping down onto the floor, she cast a wary gaze towards Len, Jinlo's mind being in such a state of disarray it was becoming near impossible for her to think things through rationally.

Slowy her gaze met Len's as she spoke to her, yet none of her words were making any real sense to Jinlo, she was too distraught to comprehend what was being said. Feeling her eyes widen as a hand rested upon her shoulder, furrowing her brow for a moment before sharply shifting her shoulder to the side, casting the hand away from her. Even though Len's intentions were perfectly innocent and reasuring, Jinlo still was uncomforatble with someone other than her self touching her, her late employer made sure of that.

Shifting away from the young female occupant, Jinlo deliberately kept her back against the door, the front of her worn and tired body facing directly at the one person who at this moment was offering a form of refuge and support to her. Drawing her knees up against her chest, Jinlo defencively wrapped her arms around her knees, trying to curl herself up into a ball in a similar way to that of a hedgehog, closing it'self off from predators and the outside world.

Raising her head up slightly as the words "Come on, you’re safe here. What’s wrong?” ran out of Len's mouth. Jinlo furrowed her brow at the notion, how could she be safe where she was now? The entire building was inhabited by freaks, as the postman had put it, coupled with the fact that the man she was just fleeing from knew she was currently residing within the series of metal bars and poles that encompased the perimeter of the complex. It was impossible to fathom how she could be safe here, not only was she on the run from the postman, she was on the run from the law.

"I can't stay here, he knows I am here!" Jinlo blurted out, with a slight muffled whimper, as her head sank back against her knees. She could feel several beaded tears form and run down along the features of her face, leaving glistening moist trails amoungst her grime ridden face. "He's going to tell them, I know it ! Then i'm going to be locked away" she continued, her entire body was trembling with fear now, as the prospect that the postman was likely to report the incident to the police, ultimately giving her location away, something that she had been fleeing for the past few days in order to gain some clearance from 'Hell's Kitchen'.

Turning her head so that she was looking to the side, Jinlo's gaze lingered over no particular feature of the path she had just scrambled down, her mind now plagued with the consequences of passing through the gates of the complex. All that distance Jinlo had gained from the law over the past few days have fallen to waste. Her imediate sense of protecting herself from harm, reaching desperate measures. And now because of her base instincts Jinlo was essentially back where she had started off from, she needed to start again, gain some distance between her and the law, fast. She couldn't see any reason for lingering any longer, for all she knew the police were just around the corner. Yet the fatique in her tired body dictated otherwise, despite how much Jinlo wanted to move away from where she was, she found that she was essentially trapped due her her body's urgent need for rest.

Re: Seeking Sanctuary
((OOC: That where you want to head next? Poor thing...She really needs a good counselling session. Or two... as for special effects...*waves a flashlight around and calls it a laser*))

Was the girl insane, or was something really out there? A glance out the door revealed nothing out of the ordinary, save for a rather angry postman pacing outside the front gate before leaving. No giant robot or rabid dog. Just the friendly freak-avoiding citizens of their fair city. Giving a reluctant wave that went ignored, Len’s attention returned to the frightened face.

Len snatched her hand away as Jinlo pulled from her touched, not unlike an injured animal. Terror in those wide eyes, fatigue rolling off her in obvious waves. This girl who she couldn’t tell if she was older than her or a lot younger, drawing into an almost fetal position, what had happened to her to act like this? Len felt horrified and compelled to help, tentatively putting out her hand once more. At least she wasn’t screaming. That would have made things a lot worse.

Lowering herself to a less intimidating level, Len held up both hands, an act that made her feel stupid but was obvious as a sign that she was unarmed. Not that she was sure it would help if the girl had pulled away just from a hand on her shoulder. Frowning in concentration, Lenora brought herself to sit cross legged on the floor. In front of the open front door, sitting on the floor, it was an awkward place for a conversation, but the girl didn’t look like she was eager to go anywhere except into a ball.

"I can't stay here, he knows I am here! He's going to tell them, I know it ! Then I'm going to be locked away"

“What? Who knows you’re here? No one will lock you up.” Maybe she should get a professor, or someone who spoke Panicked-ese. This girl was troubled, and if someone was following her, well, there was a reason this place was surrounded by gates. Len tried shushing, unsure how to calm. “You’re safe here, really. If we close the door, no one can get in unless you want them, okay?” Keeping someone away wasn’t her real intention. She didn’t want this girl running into the streets or something, and a closed door would show a slight level of trust of Len.

“Here, wipe your tears, we can get you cleaned up,” Len pulled a tissue from her pocket. “Are you…are you hungry?” What was she trying to do, bribe the girl with candy? That only worked for little children, but if it helped, then so be it. What Len needed next was the girl to go into shock or something, feeling the trembles through the fingertips she rested slightly on Jinlo’s elbow. Her brown eyes were worried and a tiny bit scared as she gave her kindest smile. This girl picked the wrong place to end up when most people seemed terrified of mutants. Len would just keep that small detail of the school quiet for now.

“Ah…My name is Len, and…What’s your name? If you tell me what’s wrong, I can try to help.” How she would help, she didn’t know. First thing was to calm the girl down, then maybe find out what was wrong. It seemed simple in her head. It looked harder when she gave another look to Jinlo. “Somebody? Can someone give me a hand here?” Len called out hesitantly. Until the girl was okay, she wasn’t willing to get up and find someone by herself.

This was going to be the highlight of her day. Keeping an eye on Jinlo’s gazes out the door, she prayed that she wouldn’t flee. It didn’t look too likely, from what she could see. She’d never seen someone right after a marathon, but this must come pretty close. Damn, she wished she had some water or something to offer, but unless the girl was willing to drink out of a vase, Len didn’t want to leave her alone. Bright side to all this, Len did forget all about her worries of getting her letter mailed.

Re: Seeking Sanctuary
OOC: Aye think it'll be suited, especially when the truth kinda gets revealed, and special affects ... Hrmm my contribution would be the image of her character from her other incarnation, with the lightsabers and glowing eyes LOL ah well back to the mutantness :lol

Inwardly sighing as the sight of postman walking away reached her eyes, Jinlo returned her gaze back towards Len, her bloodshot eyes just visibile over her knees. Cautiously Jinlo eyed, the young female, as she squatted down before folding her legs over each over as she sat down directly opposite from her. Her mind falling blank once again to Len's words as the caught sight and realisation that she was still wearing her work uniform from the resturant 'The Hungry Devil', a slight tear letting an element of air flow through the gap between the torn fabric over her chest. In what seemed to have been a sick irony the manager of the resturant turned out to be the very Devil to her life, a thought that caused Jinlo to tremble with an added intensity.

Feeling her mind being plucked back into her present surroundings as the offer for a tissue resonated through Jinlo's ears, she shifted her head slightly to look directly towards len, without the obstruction of her knees blocking her view. Nodding to the offer, Jinlo retrieved the offered tissue from Len with an apparant hesitancy, before bringing the tissue to her eyes and wiping away the lingering build up of tears from around her eyes, slightly aleaviating the stinging sensation of the salty tears against her eyes. Her attention having been distracted through the wiping of her tears, Jinlo couldn't feel the light brushing of Len's fingers against her own flesh, yet even if she was fully aware little physical stimulus could be drawn from such a slight touch, her body was shattered, physically numb, leaving Jinlo only able to feel touches that exerted a greater force or pressure against her skin.

Listening as Len began to introduce her self, Jinlo could feel herself relax slightly, wheither it was down to the fact that Len was willing to offer out her name in a bid of support, or that underlying all the troubles that had carried her to where she was now. Len seemed incapable of making sexual advances on her, not in the way in which Jinlo had been forced to endure a few days prior. Shaking her mind out of such thoughts Jinlo looked towards Len, her eyes studying the opposing female intently. "Jinlo... Halan" Jinlo spoke at a barely audiable level, there still was the factor playing on her mind that she still wanted to try and keep as much distance and animity from the law, she wasn't wanting to scream her name from the roof tops for all to hear.

Turning her gaze slightly away from Len, Jinlo resumed her staring out accross the lawn that sandwiched the path that ran along from the front gate, or at least Jinlo guessed was the front gate, she had only followed one particular stretch of the fence, what was there to say or prove to her that this was a side gate, where the majority of the complex still lay undiscovered. What is wrong? What isn't? So much has happened to her in life she couldn't tell where to begin yet many of her problems were not the cause of what had lead right up to this point. "I killed a man, my employer. That is why i have been running, I'm affraid that that postman will tell the police that i am here" Jinlo confesed, her gaze still held to the side, somehow it felt easier to talk about such things with the belief that she was talking to the wind, as opposed to Len sitting opposite her.

Turning her head slightly to look at Len through the corner of her eye, trying to gauge her reaction to the fact that she was sitting a few feet away from a self confessed murderer. She was unsure if she should explain something in her defence, but the memories were still to painfull for her to even contemplate detailing verbally. Returning her gaze back onto the path that she had fled from the post man along, her brow furrowing as her mind started to drift back to the night of her bosses advancements. Jinlo could feel her body tense up as it had done during the actuall time of Raj's advancements on her, the whole recollection of that night from memory was enough to make the hair on the back of her neck stand on end, as her entire skin crawled in repulsion of the memory.

Unaware on two fronts, one being that Jinlo was oblivious to the fact that her breathing had become much more shallow and rapid, as the images of the night came flashing back into her mind, causing Jinlo to tighten her grip on her legs, so much so, it was to the point that the knuckles of her fingers had gone white. The second front being the potential explosive catalyst advancing towards her, in the most unconventional of forms. Eight short creaping legs slowly carrying a body that was shaped like a bean, bringing the spider closer from the wall towards Jinlo, before slowly scaling Jinlo's clothes. Pressing her face agaisnt her knees, Jinlo buried herself deeper into her self contained ball, the shifting of her shoulders suggesting to those observing her that she was sobbing, the only additional proof was that of the muffled sounds eminating from the curled up form that sat against the door.

With a scream of shock and panic, Jinlo had more or less sprung out of her fetal form, frantically screaming and clawing her way, away from no one in particular. The small arachnid reaching Jinlo's skin causing a fit of panic to fall over Jinlo as the crawling touch of the spider, sparked some simularity between what she was seeing in her mind's eye and what she was physically feeling. Vilolently Jinlo lurched backwards as if she was being pinned against the floor, her physical memory some how matching the movements that had occured during the incident.

Evidently Jinlo was trapped within her memories, her frail mind only accepting the fact that in her mind she was seeing the recolection of her employer's advances, whilst the physical stimulae from the spider's movements against her skin acted as the conformation to the believe in her mind that the whole ordeal was happening again. Completely oblivious to the fact that her true surroundings were different and those around her were not involved with the incident of that night, yet were left to watch as Jinlo seemingly tried to fend off no one in particular whilst screaming at the top of her lungs, several comments such as 'get off me' and 'please don't' escaping her lips

Re: Seeking Sanctuary
Would it be wrong to describe the encounter like talking to a small child? Len had never met someone that seemed this vulnerable, helpless. She had to be a little older than her, estimated by the fact that it seemed as if she’d held a job before from sight of her shirt, but Len felt as if she was dealing with someone ages younger. Jinlo’s eyes spoke for the girl, displaying a tired quality of someone who had seen too much in too little time. All it did was make Len more determined to help her.

Len watched her as she accepted the napkin, and in her mind, she tried to figure out what had happened. Either this girl had been out on the streets for a while, or she’d been attacked. Maybe a bit of both. Call the police? She looked too old to call child services. And Len knew she wouldn’t be able to do that. She had to make sure she was going to be okay. Len just wasn’t sure how.

"Jinlo... Halan"

Well, that was a start. It was an unusual name, and revealed so softly. “Jinlo,” Len repeated slowly, checking to see it was right. Bringing up a gentle smile, a name was the first step in trust. Nodding her head slightly, she tried for a friendly approach. “That’s a cool name. Jinlo.”

What was it beyond the door that was so fascinating? Len peered in the direction that Jinlo stared, looking from the normal day to the not so normal arrival before her. Like something was following her, but as far as she could see, there was nobody who gave a second look toward their direction. Frowning, Len edged to close the door, slowly to keep from acting as if she were trapping her. “It’s sort of drafty, isn’t it,” Len gave a light chuckle in a nonchalant way. “We could just shut this,” she nodded toward the door, “And it should be more comfortable.”

"I killed a man, my employer. That is why I have been running, I'm afraid that that postman will tell the police that I am here"

She hadn’t been expecting that. For a moment, Len was shocked, confused at what had been said. Had she misheard? Or did Jinlo really…Realizing her stunned look with open mouth and wide eyes wasn’t exactly friendly, she shut her mouth and rubbed the back of her neck. It was hard to believe, but she’d seen lots of hard to believe things. Unconsciously, she was sitting back on her hands, leaning away from the other girl. Would murderers curl into a ball and radiate such sadness? No, they’d be colder, different. Len didn’t want to believe, but perhaps this was something bigger than she could help.

“It’s okay, the…police don’t like coming here, and…you don’t have to run anymore,” Len attempted to seem unbothered by the confession, but the first four words repeated themselves in her head, her mind fumbling to interpret what they meant.

With the confession, Jinlo seemed to be more withdrawn, bothered by the words that had come out of her own mouth. Len felt her pulse speeding, scared for and of this girl. Leaning closer, about to offer yet another futile attempt to comfort, she hesitated. This really was one of those times she needed to find a teacher. Or a doctor. Physically, mentally, there was an instability that intensified her concern.

The scream startled a yelp from her as she fell backwards, watching at the fit that had overcome Jinlo. Clawing hands, a wild flailing to defend against nothing, Len reached quickly to try to restrain her but withdrew to avoid the frantic attacks. And the screaming, this would bring others for sure, but it was startling her. Worse would be if someone approached and decided that she was the one attacking the other girl. It was probably a mistake, would startle her more, but she was already throwing her power around the two of them, silencing the cries for a few frantic seconds.

“Stop! Wait!” Len spoke up, breaking the spell of silence. “Wait, Oh god, I’m sorry, please, Jinlo, just calm down for a second.” Breathing nearly as hard, Len was as terrified as she was confused. “Jinlo, please, ah…we can go see Dr. McCoy, he’ll help you.” Frazzled, Len figured she needed an aspirin as well. Hands fluttering for a moment as she tried to meet the other girl’s eyes, she hoped her attempt to startle her into ending her screams hadn’t just made things worse. It seemed bad enough for this girl that she’d been chased by mailmen and whatever hell had happened before without discovering she was among mutants. No, a heart attack and an aneurysm was the last thing that Len wanted to give her.

Re: Seeking Sanctuary
Scrambling away from Len, Jinlo cast a cautionary glance towards the student, moving a shaking hand towards her throat, the momentary bout of silence seemed to have brought Jinlo out of her state of hysteria, before being cast into a state of dumbfounded confusion, although the fear and panic was still rife within her eyes, Jinlo seemed to have a more sedated quality around her, as she was one of the numerous primates in the New York Zoo, completely devoid of any energy, instead just filled with a quiet, uncarring demenior.

Looking over her hand Jinlo furrowed her brow, unsure as to why her voice was so suddenly drowned out, she couldn't feel any tenderness that would suggest a sore throat, holding her hand out infront of her mouth Jinlo tried to speak, to which unlike during the window in which Len used her abilities, sound eminated from her mouth, causing Jinlo to jump slightly before looking back at Len, a look lingering on her face baring her confusion, as well as the expression as if she had just been violated by Len's abilities.

As Len appologised, Jinlo could do nothing but furrow her brow, was she appologising for the momentary loss of speach? Jinlo mused to herself as she griped her left hand tightly against her right arm just above the elbow, having been unaware untill that point that during her frashing about she had knocked her arm against the wall, sending a stinging senstation eminating from her ulnar nerve. Then it hit her; this is what the postman ment about freaks being within the building, With the sudden disapearance and resurfacing of her voice, either down to a temperary deafness or voice loss, Len's appology seemed to come as the confirmation that it was this place, more importantly her that caused her voice loss; why else would she apollogise, if she didn't do it? Being the conclusive argument that was coarsing through Jinlos weary mind.

Looking about the imediate area, Jinlo's eyes gazed against, Len's, the lower lids of her eyes glistening with a fresh batch of tears that were rapidly building up, before overflowing and running down her face. "I couldn't Kill him" Jinlo spoke coldly, as she seemed to tilt towards the side before slumping against the wall, her face wincing as her head connected with the wall with a light thud, "I never touched him, but he was touching me" Jinlo continued, her tone now bleeding out from a cold bitterness to one of shear confusion.

Another bout of trembling fell over her as the later scenes of the incident ran through her mind. "No one was touching him, yet he was screaming and bleeding" Jinlo spoke, her voice trembling as her emotions started to faulter, in which her words were shortly followed by light sobbing, as Jinlo moved fully against the floor, her chest moving as her crying became more physically and audibly prominant. The image of her employer lingering in her mind, bleeding from his eyes, mouth, ears and nose, his entire body; more so his face constrewn with the physical depiction of pain.

OOC: Well the offer is now out, if any teacher is willing, they can come into the scene and make a move to sedate the mess and move her to the clinic :evil

Re: Seeking Sanctuary - In need of a teacher; Bring sedative
ooc: ok chris, herego i sent you the living one... but be warned he was insane long before your character came along and to much provocation and he may go back to the same sort of state as she's in... only with more violent tendancies :evil

Finally Nick had managed to convince the doctor that he was well enough to be let out of the med bay on his own, and it had taken some convincing, though his last outburst was a long time ago now. Still the murmur of noises in his head was a constant reminder of the fact that his powers were still a problem that needed to be addressed, but the repressing of them was good enough for now.

Meditation was a key part of his new controlling process, the calming of his mind on a regular basis helped keep his mind focused and it was especially helpful if he found himself being overwhelmed at any point. For now though it was good, the noise in his head of others thoughts was quiet enough to be in the background whilst his own thoughts were clear.

In the always of the school buildings the demon hunter felt safe and after over a year of literal hell in his own world he could finally sleep properly of an evening, still the nightmares were not totally gone but there were no recurring ones now unlike before in his own world. That was all out of his mind now as he strolled aimlessly round the building cramming in as much of the place as he could before he had to return to the medical lab, before his mental barriers weakened.

Just as he was thinking of turning back towards the room in med bay that he was staying in until Hank decided that he was well enough to not be a danger to himself or anyone else a screaming noise became apparent in his head, or was it outside his head… it was still hard to tell. Groaning slightly he rubbed his forehead, the noise had disappeared now but the echoes remained in the demon hunter’s head.

Could it just have been his imagination, his mind playing tricks on him, it still invaded the minds of everyone who couldn’t form a mental barrier around their thoughts. But then again what if it was not just his mind, what if there really was someone in trouble and he just passed it over as a figment of his imagination… he’d have to live with the knowledge that he could have done something, not what he needed on his mind right now.

He stopped and looked around, concentrating hard Nick tried to pinpoint the individual’s thoughts in the mess of his mind, *this is not going to go well* he thought as the voices slowly began to grow louder due to him having to lower his mental barriers. There was little he could pick up on though; everything up there was still pretty much a total mess still, but through the mess and noise there was anguish, someone’s thoughts were definitely not good.

They were near the front entrance… quickly he turned in that direction and began to run, forcing his weak and damaged body to comply to his will, the demon hunters tired limbs protesting at every step. Why had he not listened to the doctor when told that the machinery in the medical lab would aid the healing process, the only thing he could think of was that he had not been himself, the wounds that he had sustained in his own world were still healing, though the cuts were now dressed and the broken bones knitted back together they were still weak.

But that did not matter now, his life had been dedicated to helping others even if lately he had been on the receiving end of assistance, the clothes he was wearing were not even his own, all his things had been thrown away by Hank as soon as they were cut off of him.

By the time he reached the front door the demon hunter had slowed to a swift walk, his legs burning with the effort of running. There were two girls by the door, one clearly hurt in some way, and her mind did not seem all too good either, the other it would appear was attempting to calm her down… though from what he could tell she was not having total success with it.

“I heard screaming” he spoke quickly, sounding worried as he slowly walked towards them, stopping halfway across the room as he sensed that his presence might actually make the girl worse. “do you need some help, you look awful” slowly he moved towards them, his hands kept visible so as not to cause alarm, his voice attempting to reassure whilst showing sympathy.

Re: Seeking Sanctuary - In need of a teacher; Bring sedative
Maybe this was a test. If not a test to display the other girl’s sanity, then a test on her sanity. All Len knew was that she felt like screaming, maybe joining Jinlo and crying a bit in frustration and panic. Her hands covered her face, rubbing her eyes as she debated her next move. The screaming, the tears, it was beginning to exasperate the side of her that swore of babysitting anyone who still used crayons. The girl before her and the knowledge that the pain was from something than a dead goldfish? That appealed to the side that made her buy a bum a burger.

At least the screaming had stopped. Thank God and all the gods and goddesses and whoever claimed to be high and mighty. The silence had given her that much needed breath, and it seemed to have done something. Considering Jinlo had quieted rather than fled, it was a good something. Hands on her face, Len rubbed her eyes in exasperation, cursing herself for panicking. Scare the terrified. She was supposed to help, not add to the fire!

She was going to get into trouble. She knew it. Looking away from a moment, Len’s attention returned to find glazed eyes and waterworks. No, not trouble, her first worry had to be to help. Jinlo’s words chilled her as she reached tentatively to put a hand on her shoulder, grimacing at the head to wall impact. How to help someone who seemed so precariously perched on the edge, so emotionally fragile that Len was afraid to sit closer. Anxious fear and unwavering concern had her heartbroken over what she heard, despite the worries that Jinlo might have the blood of a man on her hands.

"No one was touching him, yet he was screaming and bleeding"

“A heart attack? A…seizure?” Len tried to make sense of the words. “Did someone try to hurt you? Oh damn, should we call the p- call for help?” Len remembered the initial fear of the authority who really should be the ones handling potential murder cases. Touching, it sounded as if there was an attack, someone had gotten hurt? The more this went on, the more she wished for a translator between the two of them.

She was out of tissues now, offering the last from her packet along with what felt like the last thing she could do to help. In between coos to calm and hushed reassurances that things would be all right, her mind whirred like machinery for a solution, for words more comforting than, “It’s okay, you’re fine now.”

“do you need some help, you look awful”

The voice of another both startled her and sounded like a blessing as Len whipped around, desperate for a hand in the situation. Awful, her or Jinlo? Because she felt like she’d been through a marathon herself. So tempting it was to cry herself, her eyes were wide and pleading at the sight of the young man.

“Oh gosh, I didn’t do anything to her, I mean, she was screaming herself and she was banging on the door,” Len rushed to defend herself against blame that she had done anything. “I’m not sure what’s wrong with her, but we need to get her some help, we can’t just leave her.” Her words strung together in one breath, eyes flickering from one person to another, wringing her fingers nervously.

She had to calm down, feeling her lungs stressing as she began to hyperventilate a little. Taking a deep breath, it was a split second of calm before she demanded, “Come on! Can you help, or at least get a teacher instead of standing there?” It was a little unfair of her, she knew, but she’d apologize later when she wasn’t feeling like pulling out all her hair.

Re: Seeking Sanctuary - In need of a teacher; Bring sedative
Looking up from the ground as a third voice came into the scene, Jinlo cast the new arrival a wary scowl, "Don't come any closer !" Jinlo spoke bitterly towards the new arrivial, the last thing she had wanted to deal with was another man, especially since within the hour she was had been chased by one. But yet deep inside her mind, she carried a shear repulsion for the male of the species, not because of who they are, but for what they represent to her, a reminder of her employer's unwanted sexual advances upon her.

Pushing herself up from the floor, Jinlo moved back into a sitting position, deliberately shifting slightly so that Len was sitting right between the two. Her gaze held firm onto the new arrival being sure to judge his movements intently. Although it would be apparant that Len was likely to be thankful that the new arrival had brought on an abrupt end to Jinlo's tyrade of emotional instability, only now to be replaced by a tense air that lingered between the three.

Even though the male standing infront of her and Len, had his arms raised as a sign that he intended to bare no harm, Jinlo kept a cautious eye on him, not wishing to be lulled into a false sense of security, which had lead to her late manager trying to rape her. The last thing she really needed now was an unwanted male presence, esspecially at the current moment where her mind was incredibly volatile.

Cautiously Jinlo wrapped a hand around Len's arm, "Don't let him get close" Jinlo wispered desperately into Len's ear, before looking about, there just seemed to be two present options that have lingered since Len opened the door to her. To go with Len and finally allow her to take Jinlo to a point where she could be helped, or flee. Although the second option seemed more than likely, her tired limbs still screamed out in fatigue, no longer wanting to withstand any further punishment. "Len" Jinlo spoke as her hand tightened slightly "Take me with you, keep me away from him or any others like him" Jinlo continued frantically.

Knowing that if Len did oblige to taking her to a safer point of refuge, Jinlo knew that in doing so she was taking a risk herself, if there was one male already present then there is a likely hood that there are countless others, something that Jinlo would need to depend on Len to help at least avoid any further contact with.

Re: Seeking Sanctuary - In need of a teacher; Bring sedative
Nick was making things much worse and he did not need to be a telepath to realise that, her whole body was showing it to such an extent that the former agent was reluctant to go to the other girls aid. “I’m not going to hurt you…” he said, his tone as reassuring as the telepath could manage in his weakened state.

Things were not going to go well today, he could sense that deep inside him, a longing for something to just be easy for a change was slowly boiling to the surface… it needed to be fought back if he was going to get through this day in one piece and prove to Hank that he was able to handle his wayward powers.

But they did come in useful for one thing because Nicks invasive power was probing deep within the distressed girls thoughts, she had been attacked by a man before and it had scarred her to such an extent… not just the actual attack but her actions afterwards that had killed him. She was a mutant it was clear, but the telepath knew that it would be a bad idea to mention this for her reaction to an unknown male invading her deepest thoughts and feelings was likely to trigger something that Nick shuddered to think about.

He had lived in a hell dimension, fought demons and gone to the brink of insanity but still this girls power held much fear for the telepath even though he did not show it, everything else could be fought, people with strong physical powers could be defended against even with his shattered body. but this was different, this was mind based and no matter how he was able to keep a check on his mind enough to stay sane there was not a hope in hell of him being able to hold off any form of mental attack that came his way for anything more than a few seconds.

“We should get her to the medical bay for those wounds” he spoke quickly to the other girl “Hank is not available right now but I can call Talia if she isn’t already there” once more he wished he could move closer to try and help the injured girl to the medical lab but the fear he had caused just be appearing to them was reason enough for him to keep a good distance from her.

He looked at the distressed girl quickly his face sympathetic; this is how Scott must have felt when nick had first arrived in this world all battered and frail… he could remember destroying the poor guy’s classroom in a telepathic rage. It only served to increase the sympathy he felt towards Scott now, all the man had wanted to do was help and nick had run away in fear and lashed out against the help that was offered. He had even called Talia a demon, something that he was not done apologising for just yet.

Re: Seeking Sanctuary - In need of a teacher; Bring sedative
“Did you do something to her? Nevermind, sorry…” Len snapped without thought, retracting the accusation as soon as her brain registered the ridiculous idea. Must have been something else about him.

Well, the girl was better around her at least. Just not someone of the opposite sex. Len didn’t truly appreciate being used as a barrier, flashing a look toward the other girl. Help, didn’t she want some help? Apparently not from the opposite sex. Things seemed to clarify a bit from then.

“Jin? Jinlo, sweetie, it’s okay,” Len cooed. “He won’t hurt you, I won’t let him. He’s just here to help.” Turning a scowl and a harsh whisper, she demanded, “You WON’T hurt her, right?” Wasn’t exactly gratitude for the help, but there was no way they needed another fit at the moment.

Offering a hand for comfort, the less than kind thought of wishing someone else had come, slipped into her head. Help would be difficult to obtain for someone who panicked at the presence of anyone she hadn’t met within the last few minutes. A calculating eye sweeping over Nick, Len couldn’t see more about him than his obvious maleness that could cause any anxiety.

With the whisper in her ear, Len stiffened slightly and patted Jinlo’s arm around her own, wrapped as if she were expected to protect her. She would try, but there wasn’t much to protect her from. Only people to help. As startling it was, the girl’s sudden attachment to her arm, it made her soften a little. This needed more help than any baby bird she’d ever found.

“Take me with you, keep me away from him or any others like him"

“Oh, he won’t do anything to you, just help. And I won’t leave, okay?” Len promised. It looked like her day would be spent making sure Jinlo would be fine. Which was fine with her, as long as there was success in the end. The finish line seemed so far off.

“Talia would be good, and she really should get help soon,” she agreed quietly, dropping her frantic tone. So scared, like a kid, only a lot sweeter in a way. Rubbing an eye on the back of her hand in slight exasperation from this all, Len put on her best smile, repressing the worry in her eyes.

“Jinlo? We’ll go and get you some help, now, okay? Can you do that?” Medical bay always reminded her of hospital in a way, and that was never a comforting thought. “And we’ll go get something to eat, and you can tell us all that has happened. Me and…” Len looked at Nick for a name before she continued to speak. “I’ll be right here, okay? He’ll come with us, and he won’t come near. Just coming with us while we go to the...get something to make you feel better.”

There was no proof that the girl needed things simplified, words padded as they would be for a small child, but it slipped out with soft, what Len called her helpful tone. In a way, it comforted her as well, treating as if she hadn’t opened the door to a hysterical girl who was more troubled than anyone she’d seen.

Turning away slightly, she rubbed her temple with one hand, closing her eyes to gather her frazzled nerves that had been scattered with the earlier yelling. It was going to be difficult to deal with this. Bringing up her helpful smile once more, Len tapped Jinlo on the arm as she shifted her own legs to better stand up.

“Can you walk? I promise, I won’t let anything happen to you, but we do need to help you with those…boo boos.” Child talk again. She couldn’t help it. “Up, okay? Ah…and really, you came to the right place.” Sure she did. A school where the closest ones to help were baffled students. Well, at least they had a good medical staff here.

Casting a look to Nick, Len looked almost apologetic, for her earlier outbursts to him and partially for Jinlo’s reaction to him. “Maybe you should lead…Sure somebody’s in today, right?” Would be just their luck if everyone decided to take the day off today…

Re: Seeking Sanctuary - In need of a teacher; Bring sedative
OOC: A day late i know, but got dragged out to the pub.. Honest :rollin Also soz for the shortness of the post am kinda frazzled here, So if you don;t mind i'll try and edit once again, or we can move onto the med bay ...

Nodding to Len's question, Jinlo pushed herself up onto wobbly legs, her hold although loosening considerably, still remained on Len's arm, as Jinlo seemed to peak over Len's shoulder to make sure that Nick was a safe distance between the two. Occasionally Jinlo ducked behind Len, as Nick cast a passing backwards gaze towards the two females. Nerves and apprehension was cascading through Jinlo's veins like a high tide, the waves crashing over what ever remains there was of Jinlo's emotional barriers, as her gaze darted from one corner of the room to the other, so that she could be sure that there was no one else within too close a proximity to what was comfortable.

Keeping a close tail on Len, although easy as it was with her hands loosely holding onto Len's arm, Jinlo seemed to give into her reluctance, letting it slow her pace down, the realisation setting in that she was walking head long into a building that she had no idea of it's purpose nor the nature of it's occupants. She felt as if she was litterally walking head long into the swirling abys, with no idea what she was letting her self fall prey to.

Casting a wary eye on the stair case that the three passed on their way towards the medical facilities, Jinlo could of swarn she saw a face staring at her, before slowly fading into obqurity. Narrowing her eyes as she scanned the staircase inquisitively her mind set on determining if the face she saw staring right back at her was nothing more than a fatique induced trick of the eye or if there was something lingering, obsqured from sight.

Shaking the unexplained sight out of her mind, with a sharp shudder of her head, as if she had just swallowed a mouthfull of concentrated lemon juice. Jinlo was treading on unfamilar territory to which each minor quirk of the building came into intense visual scruitiny, as Jinlo ensured that there was no hidden agenda with the building or it's occupants. Although her tired eyes seemed to cause more panic than reasurance, as her sight seemed to waver or blur from the fatique, causing a simple shadow of a plant pot to form into a sinister looking impliment.

But with the exception of the one leading both Len and Jinlo, there was yet to be any sight of a male, which although brought on an air of relief in her mind, Jinlo was suspecting that they were all lying in wait, either hiding behind a corner, or where the two were taking her. Focusing her gaze on the back of Len's neck, Jinlo contemplated the words of reasurance that was spoken to her, Len did promise that no more harm would come to her, and that she did apear to want to help Jinlo. Although it must of seemed daft to entrust so much into someone who she had only just met, especially having lived within Hell's Kitchen, where freindships were hard to force yet were easily shattered. The concern of misplaced trust was now a prominant thought coarsing though her mind.

Re: Seeking Sanctuary
ooc: oh my god i'm soooo sorry i didnt realise it was my turn :eek

This was turning out to be a nightmare of a day, one that had started out with such promise. His powers had been totally under his control for over a day now and he was finally allowed out of the medical lab on his own, but there always had to be something to break the tranquillity that had leaked into his life.

But on this occasion the disruption had not been caused by himself or his mind, but from someone else’s plight, and her not too healthy mind. But that was just the start of the problems, her instability was rubbing off on the Telepath and the control that he had managed to maintain for such a long period of time was slowly wearing off.

Though it was not unnoticed to him for he could feel he telltale signs, headaches slowly setting in and the noises from the student’s minds was beginning to grow. Learning the signs was progress in itself for him though; at least he had the jump on when his powers were going to be problematic.

For now though Nick knew that he had at least long enough to get the girl to the med lab before he lost control, keeping himself ahead of the two girls he glanced back momentarily to check that everything was going ok. There had to be something he could do to help alleviate the girls obvious burden of carrying herself along.

He sighed, rubbing his forehead with his right hand using his troublesome powers to lift some of the weight from her… this was going to be regrettable. “we should be there soon enough” he reassured them, his voice breaking only a little as he struggled with the powers that had caused him so much pain in the past. Hopefully he could hold it together for long enough though, it would be a shame for them to see him if he did suffer a breakdown, the fear of hurting someone always present.
