Seerendor - The Continent of Ruins
Hundreds of thousands of years ago there existed an Eden, a land that grew the most beautiful and exotic foliage, an area of peace - a Continent of Paradise. Named by the Elves as 'Seerendor' or 'The Land of Peace', the land prospered; life thrived. Villages, towns, and cities were built. Kingdoms traded and worked together, marketing began to evolve as each individual found his or her niche.
But the peace didn't last. An Elemental Mage, Istar Tracchinus, began to drain the lands of its spirit for power - the day turned into night, and darkness prevailed. In this darkness, he brought with him the creatures called the Lume - shadows that ate of flesh, drank blood and ravaged land. Life began to die off.
The four great Compass Cities of Seerendor fought to end his rule, but by the time he was gone, it was too late for the land. One of the cities is dead, forests are destroyed, a once Pacifist city now knows of war, and some species have gone extinct.
Now, three hundred years later, just as the Continent is regaining its strength, a familiar darkness is beginning to spread over the land.
The Lume are returning, and it's only a matter of time.
