Shakira's new album will be more rock
The new album by Colombian singer Shakira will be more rock-influenced, according to the producer/songwriter threesome The Matrix (best known for their work with Avril Lavigne).
The threesome was involved with 7 of the new Shakira-songs, which they recorded in Spain.
According to them Shakira has in spite of her latino background, a great aptitude for cool rockmusic. The main influences for these songs were The Pretenders and The Cure, artists which Shakira herself admires.
"Shakira knows exactly what she wants. She both controls the lyrical as the musical side, from keyboards to drums ... she reminds me of Prince in that way", stated Lauren Christy, 1/3 of The Matrix.
The new album's release is planned for August 2004, it will be Shakira's second English language album after 2001's "Laundry Service", which sold over 12 million copies worldwide.

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.
