Should He Shouldn't He? *VH1 Spoiler Inside!*
So, what do you think? If he was, as is alleged (sp??) the man responsible for the non-reunion, what do you think of Jools now? Is he merely just too busy or are you left thinking that he's too big/big-headed to "step back" to Squeeze?

I used to go to all his solo shows waaaaay before Don't Forget and Later and he was the nicest, sweetest man. I remember him giving me champagne and singing Happy Birthday on my 17th birthday! He always used to check how I was getting home and used to make someone go with me to make sure I got into the taxi safely! But then he got famous . . . very famous . . . And it's hard to blag your way backstage when there's 1000s of other people. :b

I'll be very disappointed if Jools is no longer that lovely man who used to make an awkward teenage feel very special . . .

Jools Holland
Well I still think that Jools is one of the best piano players around but that dose not stop me thinking that the man has falts. I have been to see him live three times but Will not go again as every show has been very much the same. What I would like is each show to be a bit diffrent. Much as I like his big band I do feel that he hides behind it and we do not get to see the real piano player that he is. What would be great for me is if he would do a bit in the middle of the show just by himself on the piano. This is what he is best at. His Best CD'sto me are Solo piano and Sex and jazz and rock and roll. As for his Jool's and friends CD's you can forget them. It is just easy money for him he just gets his mates that he knows in music and he knows the lot and then they do bad covers of songs. It's as if Jools has given up trying to make a great CD. What we really want is to hear Jool's amazing piano playing. I really think he is being a bit selfish stoping Squeeze doing one last show in the bands re united show. I mean its true he is so famous that he dose not have to do it but it seemed the rest of the band were up for it and I feel that Chris is realy sorry it did not happen. He still would like to mend things after the way he ended it with Squeeze by not going on the last Squeeze tour. I think they should forget about Jools and do one last show any way and Paul Carrack can have Jool's place. Lifes to short to be mad for ever Jools and just because your one of the best piano players around dose'nt mean you can't be replaced.

Hello, and welcome to Frank!

I've seen Jools a couple of times. I know what you mean. The first time I really enjoyed it, but the second time was much the same and like you I decided not to go again. I suppose if you're a fan of boogie woogie you can't get enough of that stuff, but I think one dose was enough for me! Maybe I was hoping for something more....er....Squeeze-like as Jools, Gilson and Chris Holland were all onstage but Squeeze is really just Glenn and Chris.

Welcome aboard - hope you visit lots. ;)

I agree with what you've both said, actually - there's no doubt that he's incredible at what he does, but the R&BO does get a bit repetitive after awhile. Still, The Full Complement is such an awesome album . . . Ooooh . . . I must go dig that out! :)
