That's a good question. Well, Threshold House updated recently, not that it shed much light on the question. I get the impression that Coil is over and that they're now just releasing material that has been done. I'd be surprised if Jhon was at the upcoming Coil shows (Except for RE~TG... he should be there).
Peter did say he had a new group, "The Left Hand Path". I dunno. Your guess is as good as mine

Relationship?
Something that is alluded to but never really talked about is Jhon and Peters relationship. I assume that it was once that of a couple - and I also assume (given that they are moving to different cities) that this is no longer the case. Is this the cause of the change in nature of coil or is Jhons health (mental or otherwise) the primary cause?
Its sad that the band seemingly at the peak of its powers is comming to an end....
coil de neuf ?
e guess u should chech www.thresholdhouse.com on a more regular (if not daily) basis. they're presently emptying thee attic (lots ov beautiful and awfully rare goodies - quite expansive thence, but worth being collected).
apart from the forthcoming 3CD+DVD "Ans" boxset, two new COIL albums (no less!!!) are expected by thee end ov thee y-era - and Jhon has set up a new project tentatively called ONE.
Live
I only know that Coil will go in Paris for the first show they ever made in this city (at the end of may) !
At last even I'm waiting for an apparition of Sir David Tibet in Paris or in France (we are lucky to have this band for a night in Paris !
Re: Live
John and Peter have been a couple for years, it must be hard to break up, yet still try and keep Coil going. I hope they make it and actually do tour as a whole again and final-E make it to San Francisco as they said they would a year or so ago! I want the DVD's to come out SIOUXN, I am dying for visual stimulation. I have the VHS videos of the NYC show and Live In Moscow, which are both excellent, but I want SO much more!
The only other artists (besides Cyclobe) I can think of who still work together and are also married, are The Creatures- Siouxsie and Budgie have been a couple since 1983 or 84 and final-E got married back in the early 90's, they are still so in love, you can see it whenever they play or in interviews, etc.
I wish John and Peter both the best of luck- whatever happens!
coil and couples
As far as im concerned Jhon and Peters relationship and intimacy are the foundations of Coil, now they are not together or seeing each other as much i feel Coil as we knew it will end. To be honest i feel it has allready ended.
The most sucessful couple in music I know of are Chris and Cosey. They have been together for well over 20 years and have a grown up son too. I guess you could inculde Stephen Stapleton and Diana Rogerson of Nurse with wound, since she has been on over a dozen of NWW releases.

That's the only one you can think of? What about the great, unparalleled Matmos? Drew Daniel and MC Schmidt can't legally marry in this country, but they've been partners in life and music for quite a few years now. And i can wholeheartedly recommend their new EP on Locust - Rat Relocation Project. But, for anyone who hasn't checked out the work of this talented duo, you must check it out. They've even covered a Coil song - "Disco Hospital" on the California Rhinplasty EP.
And lest we forget, what about Captain and Tenille?
OOPS! Now I can think of a few- I guess I was too tired for my brain to fundction properly- of course I know of Matmos, Cyclobe, Chris and Cosey AND Big Stck too!
And yes, Captain and Tenille, though they don't really count in my musickal world!
Re: re: musical couples
And of course we have my favorite artists/painters/photographers- PIERRE ET GILLES!
Actually, although they don't make musick, they HAVE done a slew of album covers including, but hardly limited to, The Creatures, Nina Hagen and Marc Almond! They have been a happy male couple since the mid-70's!
There's a wonderful video of them I have- Pierre et Gilles:A Love Story (like the book) and Nina Hagen is in it quite a bit as is Marc Almond.
