Special Murders Unit - Turwin Returns
The day had been one he'd never forget, he fearfully glanced down at hus snake tatoo, 4 of the 7 stripes where red, to the unknowing eye this was just a simple tatoo, but in truth it was a meter, tracking the amount of quicksilver poisoning in his body.
If he let it reach all 7 bars then he'd be unable to ontrol himself, he could do horrible things, murderous things, he couldn't allow himself to use his new ability.
He leaned against the wall just outside the police department, it was frightful, returning here after weeks of being held captive in that underground lab.
His rubs where bruised from the fight, possibly one of them was broken, but he didn't dare think of that, he didn't have the time, he had to figure out a way to get help, a replacement drug for his counteragent.
The doors opened, a young officer stepped out, her dark shoulder length hair tied into a tight bun, her green eyes looked about, obviously she was waiting for someone or something to arrive.
Daniel:"Nikki.."
He took in a deep breath as the girl spun around.
Daniel:"I thought you said you'd transfer at the end of last month."
He joked rather poorly as she run towards him.
Nikki:"Turwin!? Where have you, we've been searching, are you alright!?"
She wrapped her arms around her partner with delight but he cringed in pain and hse quickly let go.
Nikkie:"What happend to you, you're hurt?"
His partner helped him into the department, a few other officers made their way over to him to help him into his office, all firing questions at him relentlessly.
Nikki:"Back off for a moment! Get the first aid! Someone call the Sarg!"
Daniel was escorted into his old office he shared with Nikkie, allowed to rest in his seat Daniel simply closed his eyes and ignored all the questions.
Nikkie:"Come on, out, leave him alone, he's going to talk with the Sargent and no one else!"
After she got everyone out of the office, it was only a few moments before the dark figure of the Sarg was at the door. His chocolate coloured skin seemed to stand out against the light colored walls off the office.
Sargent:"Turwin, we where getting worried about you, disappearing like that."
He started, but Daniel shifted uncomfortably in his seat as Nikki began bandaging his ribs.
Sargent:"Some nasty marks you got there, care to tell us what happend?"
The Sarg moved over to the seat infront of Daniel's desk, curiously sitting and awaiting an answer.
Daniel:"It had nothing to do with any of our cases sir, just a random attack, I was held some where, I don't remember much, they drugged me."
He lied with a shrug.
Daniel:"Some of us managed to escape.."
He trailed off looking over at Nikki as she tended to his wounds.
Daniel:"I thought you where offered a promotion."
Sargent:"Refused to accept it."
They both stated rather bluntly.
Nikki:"I have everything I want here, why would I want to leave for another country, besides, couldn't risk allowing Sisko to take control of this unit, now could I?"
Her tone was attempting to be joking, but she shouldn't hide her serious voice. Daniel chuckled dryly but it hurt doing so, so he stopped and looked over at the Sargent.
Daniel:"When can I get back to work?"
Nikki:"Are you serious, you need time to rest!"
Daniel:"I've had enough rest, I need to occupy myself, I don't care if it's just light work."
Sargent:"Take a few days off."
Daniel:"Sarg!?"
He protested
Sargent:"You're in no condition to be running around."
Daniel:"No running, I can lend my eyes, help out with the crime scenes and reports, no running after the bad guys till I'm better."
He held up his hand as if he was vowing something, the sargent stood up, giving a slight nod in agreement before leaving the room, not wanting to get yelled at by Nikki who was ready to voice her objections.
Nikki glared at him, he just smiled innocently back at her.
Nikki:"You should rest!"
Daniel:"It wont help."
He replied dismaly as he stood up.
