- control over wind and (limited) water meaning the calling of storms, mists, rain, hail, snow, lightning, different winds etc
(partly even in buildings)
- can endure heat and coldness to a higher degree than normal human beings
- flying
- sensing weather changes.
Being trained by Wolverine, her martial arts skills are excellent as are her qualities as a thief and burglar.
History (sorry if it's a bit... yadda yadda from time to time but I found far too much history stuff for her and tried to tell only the most important
things which were still many):
Born in New York City to an American photographer and a Kenyan princess, Ororo's first meeting with real, harsh life happened at the age of 6.
Being in Cairo, both of her parents were killed as a plane crashed in their house. The experience of being burried alive with her mother's body left
marks, namely Claustrophobia which Storm has never been able to overcome.
For the following 6 years, she lived with Achmed El-Gibar and other street urchins learning to be a thief (and a pretty good one) but felt at the age
of 12 the urge to cross the Sahara and travel to her mother's homeland - Kenya. It was just that journey during which her powers awakened for the
very first time. Having arrived, she stayed and helped a local tribe as a "Weather Goddess" for years, calling rain whenever it was needed etc.
As Xavier came to her asking for help to save the original X-Men, she went with him and rescued them.
Later on, most of the original X-Men quitted and Storm became the rest's leader.
Pretty much happened throughout the years. Ororo became a vampire, got infected by the Brood and defeated the Morlock's leader Callisto thus
becoming their new mistress but left her in charge as she considered her duty as a X-Men more important.
After a hard battle, Storm disappeared for some time only to reappear as a punk version of herself. That phase she went through to cope with personal
issues didn't last long (*phew*) but being totally stripped off her powers by a weapon which had been aimed at Rogue didn't really help her to solve
those personality problems.
Feeling incredibly useless, Ororo returned to Africa where she was nearly killed by some poachers. However, having a hallucination made her see
that lack of power from another point of view and helping a pregnant woman to safety, she made the decision to return.
Back in New York where Cyclops had taken over the leadership of the X-Men, she first battled him to regain her position (which he managed even
without her mutant powers) and some time later, deciding her powers might prove useful some time, Ororo searched for Forge who had built the
gun that made her lose them.
Trapped in another dimension with him after finding him, the two fell in love with each other and Forge managed to return Storm's powers.
However, dieing shortly after she couldn't really enjoy it.
Strangely enough, she was reincarnated (as a child of course) in Cairo where she teamed up with Gambit, became a thief again and slowly regained her
memory. In New Orleans while surviving as thives, she remembered everything yet stayed in a child's body.
Returning to Xavier's with Gambit, Storm took over the leadership of the Gold Strike Force (while the Blue one is led by Scott) after finally
having her old body back and thought about marrying Forge who proposed her to. While Storm thought it over, he got the strong feeling she wouldn't
want to and withdrew the proposal just as she was about to say yes.
Callisto and Mikhail decided to take the Morlock's leadership from Storm as they were in trouble some time later and Mikhail, promising to take
care of them disappears with the whole crowd. As it looked pretty much like suicide, Storm blames herself for not having been there for the Morlocks
as she was needed.
Fortunately they were still alive but apparently Gene Nation had decided to kill one human for every killed morlock from whom they
were direct descendents. Defeating their leader, Storm prevented that plan leaving the rest to Callisto.
Year after year went by, full of dangerous adventures (gosh, that sounds like from a kitsch novel), but Storm stayed the Gold Strike Force's leader
and teacher at Xavier's Institute for Giftes Youngsters.
Personality:
With her organizational talent, natural authority, fighting spirit on the one and rationality on the other side, Storm is a natural born leader. However, in combat she tends to fight herself in
rage which leads to overreactions from time to time.
Although being protective and a mother figure for many of the younger X-Men and students, Ororo hardly opens up to anyone and tends to
behave in a rather cool (in the original sense) way which is partly necessary to keep her emotional control.
A big problem of hers is claustrophobia which is one of the few things causing temporary inferiority complexes regarding her abilities as a leader.
She can be a good listener and friend when needed; while in battle Storm loves to fight pretty melodramatic (flashs in the right moment, sinister
allusions and announcements,...).
Likes:
has/had a crush for Forge; her friends and comrades (mainly, except for a few); flying and in some way even fighting
Dislikes:
narrow rooms and passages, feeling/being powerless resp. situations in which she can't do anything to help

Sample Post:
Clenching her teeth, Storm held her bleeding should and let a strong wind lift her higher; away - just for some seconds - away from that red coloss.
" 's everythin' alright?" A concerned voice asked.
Grimly, Ororo nodded and raised both arms. A tempest came up and attacked the Sentinel savagely who was just about to start another attack.
Hovering in front of it, the Windrider glanced at the other three to make sure they were still lying without any motion behind her current opponent.
"Feel my power" ,she shouted at the mechanical monster, her eyes flashing white-blue of electricity. Out of nowhere, lightning appeared, struck the
Sentinel a dozen times with deafening strokes.
Leaving out a sigh of relief, Storm sank to the ground as the last Sentinel fell.
"Well done, Ororo, but only 9 outta ten for gettin' hurt" the voice sounded again and Rogue entered the Danger Room shortly after while the program
booted the training file.
"I'm sorry I was... distracted. Jean created an excellent illusion of pain by the way" Storm watched her shoulder were some seconds ago blood had
flown. Her clothes were as pure as snow. Taking a deep breath, Ororo got up.
"Next time, Rogue... next time! I mustn't fail again... I owe you that. All of you!" Edited by: 0x Tempest x0 at: 6/17/05 4:08 pm
