The Antillan Raid
Derence was frustrated with the Federation. But when wasn't he? It still loomed over him, his handing over of Idolo after so much time and money spent to build the damn thing. Hell, the AI on the thing probably thought it was built by the Federation. Even if they could get it back at this point, would the machine be loyal? He rested the side of his head in his propped right hand before taking another sip of the Antillan wine. He looked up at the ceiling of his office on the colony. He had ordered a merc fleet to prepare themselves to scout out the space around Pluto. Marquis had said something about the Federation fleets moving to defend there... they most likely had it handled but he wanted to know what it was that was there. The federation wasn't much for overpowering force when it didn't need to have it...
So what was there? He sighed, the merc fleet would head out pretty soon. It wouldn't take long to get a report on what was happening at Pluto from a more reliable source than the Federation. He swirled his wine a little before downing it and beginning to look back over papers. A thank you letter from one of the men he had given money to 'donate as he see fit to better serve the colonists' as well as a few reports on Federation activities within Jupiter space. Some reports on major pirate groups that had met their ends at the hands of Ender mercenaries and local police forces... nothing interesting. He placed the glass down and got up, looking over the painting of Jupiter that hung in the confined office.
Then it happened. The colony was suddenly rocked by a loud explosion. Derence stumbled, grabbing hold of a bolted book case as the colony shook.
"@#%$!" He quickly tapped into his personal comm. line he had implanted into his right ear.
"What the hell just happened?" He shouted out, pushing into the hallway and seeing body guards beginning to pour out.
"Sir! The colony is under attack by... something! We're sending out our defensive forces! What should we do about the merc fleet scheduled to go to Pluto space?" He heard a voice reply, tinged slightly with panic.
"Scratch the Pluto mission. Send all merc fleets out to repel these invaders. Set the colony to red alert and inform the police they can start bringing out their own big guns." Derence replied, pulling out his pistol and making way to his own OF docking bay.
"Yes sir, Mr. President!" He heard the voice reply before the comm. line shut off.
"You lousy bastards, listen up!" A voice rang out across the merc lines.
"And bitches" A feminine reply.
"What ever happened to fuckers?" A masculine voice questioned.
"I was always partial to-"
"Silence! Now then, the president himself has orderred us out and onto the field."
"I thought we were going to Pluto."
"Would you shut up and let me finish?"
"Sorry."
"Good. Now then, it's time for us mercs to fight for something more important than money." The merc commander was about to explain what it was before the casual mercs interrupted him.
"Fame?"
"Fortune?"
"Women?"
"What about men?"
"Well, men too."
"Oooh! Honor!"
"Glory!"
"Cheap beer?"
"The right to bare arms?"
"Fame?"
"We all ready had that one."
"Oh."
"Would you crack-addicted mentally challenged assholes shut up and listen?!" The Merc commander roared out, silencing his crew, "We're fighting for our people, for our homeland... though fame might actually be a good one to. Now then, Merc fleets one and five, MUT 2. Two and three, MUT 5. Four and six, MUT 1. Understand your orders?"
And finally, in a unison not shown earlier, "Sir, yes sir!"
"Then get to work!"
The mercenary fleets quickly launched out of the colony to greet the oncoming forces. There were six fleets in all, each one composed of a large capital ship, three carriers, two destroyer class ships, and a multitude of smaller 'viper' ships in a V formation. Personalized OFs supplied by the ELF government began to pour out of the carriers and the capital ships, some taking up positions on the ships capable of holding them while others sped ahead of the fleets.
Two ELF fleets pulled up to the side, each one larger than the personalized merc fleets. They were composed of a massive capital ship which rested at the center of the V shaped fleets, seven destroyer ships which created the actual V shape of the fleet, ten carrier ships containing mass produced OFs, and a large amount of gunboat class ships peppered between the larger ships.
Finally one last fleet launched from the Antilla colony, the President's Guard. Each ship in the fleet had a highly stylized ELF logo marking it out as the president's personal fleet. The capital ship was the largest ship on the field, coverred in turrets and even integrated OFs, and as such was rarely actually docked anywhere. Surronding it were three Fang class destroyer ships, notable for the large 'mouth' at the front that contained a powerful laser cannon. Most the OFs were all ready out amongst the fleet, each one shaped similar to a well-armored raptor. They were gold and white, each one carrying a particularly large energy sword that extended from the right forearm. The sleek OFs were unique amongst the ELF army, only existing within the President's Guard to keep them from falling into enemy hands.
And finally Derence himself, in his heavily personalized Ebony Enigma standing on the Ender's Blade, the capital ship of the President's Guard.
"You all have your orders." Derence came on the ELF standard comm. frequency, "Get out there and keep the enemy at bay! Do not seek to disable ships, just get out there and destroy them!" And then the Ebony Enigma lifted off the capital ship as the fleets broke apart to engage the incoming alien raid.
On the Antilla colony the major radar station was alive with activity. There was a constant stream of information as the ELF military attempted to gather information on the strange ships. Throughout the entire colony the military was rapidly escorting civillians to the closest bunker, locking down the colony as the sirens sounded. The troops were restless as they stared out into space, waiting for any blockade runners to attempt to break into the colony. Once the ships had been sent out the docking bays had been shut down, mobile guard units just outside the empty docking bays in case the strange fleet should attempt to break in through there.
And within the few minutes that the colony reacted, a relay message had been set on a loop.
"This is the Antilla colony. We are under attack by an unknown force. Any military ships within the area, we request your assistance. Any civllians are cautioned to stay away from the Antilla colony until further notice. This is the Antilla colony. We are under attack..." The message sounded off into space. Hopefully someone would hear it...

Re: The Antillan Raid
"Incoming transmission!" The bridge of the Bael, a superbattleship and the largest ship in the Federation fleet, let alone the universe, was in a riot as people reported to their stations. Marquisl Elndor, the CO of the ship, lounged in his chair, drinking some wine and looking not at all worried.
"Patch it in, Ensign."
"Yes sir." The SOS message from the colony came in, as Marquis sighed in annoyance.
".. We're already inbound to Neptune. Continue our course."
"But sir-"
"That is an ORDER." Marquis sat up, putting his wine down, as the Ensign sighed. He looked at the radioman, before shaking his head. "... Fine. The rest of the fleet, continue on. We'll deal with the problem." the ship headed for Antillia, and once in range, began firing at the enemy forces with its machine guns and missiles.
"... Well well well, Derence, it seems I was rght, as usual." He watched from the bridge as the enemy entered the colony, destroying any resistance and grabbing civilians.
A mothership arrived, launching more forces, as the Bael kept its distance from the colony.
Re: The Antillan Raid
"Cute, Admiral." Derence replied to Marquis' taunting in the middle of a fight with one of the alien ships. He finished it off, quickly backing away as a few of the OFs from the mercs came in to further push back the alien fleet. Derence took a quick look over the battle field, gritting his teeth. What the hell were this things?
"President, the invaders have broken into the colony! They're taking the civillians!" Blasted over his personal comm. frequency. Oh good.
"Fleet one, get back the breach point! Fleet two, disable any ships leaving the colony! Merc fleet, watch your fire! Any ship coming from the colony is to be disabled! They're taking hostages!" Derence barked his order on the general ELF frequency before re-engaging the strange enemy. He become a flurry of attacks, tearing down another ship as the two ender fleets disengaged. The merc fleets changed tactics, closing the gap left behind by the two Ender fleets.
"Get down here, damn it. You've got the fire power, start destroying their back." Derence spoke as he changed frequencies to the Bael's personal comm. line. Marquis would likely take forever to react. The bastard was probably enjoying this.
I hate the federation...

Re: The Antillan Raid
A light came from the large unidentified ship, hitting Fleet two. Another hole was opened from the colony as the enemy made an escape, ships coming towards it and firing upon the fleets and mercs. As they quickly moved away, the mothership began charging energy again...
"Where's it firing?" Marquis asked a technician, looking at the light forming.
"Antillia. They apparently plan on destroying it and anything in the way... looks like they want the civilians."
"... Let them have them. There's billions more... I don't think Derence will miss his poor people." Truly a bastard to the end, eh?
Re: The Antillan Raid
"Damn it Marquis! Do something! Antilla is as important to the commerce of the Federation as it is to the commerce of the ELF!" Derence growled out to the Bael. That @#%$ was watching them die. He knew Marquis had no love of Enders... but Derence needed the human filth now. He had fire power and there was no other way to win this fight without him.
"Sir! Fleet two has been hit! The capital ship has been damaged and we've lost two destroyers!" A report chimed in from the capital ship. Derence gritted his teeth before replying.
"Keep firing! We have to stop those ships! If you see anything being ejected, catch it as fast as possible!" He ran a hand through his hair, letting the AI control the OF briefly before taking control again.
"Merc fleet five, pull back and support ELF Fleet two! They need your help back there!" He barked out an order before getting a new report.
"Sir, there's a new hole in the colony!" A chime in from ELF fleet one.
"Damn it! Merc fleet 5, split apart! Send your capital ship and half the fleet to aid ELF Fleet 2, send the other half to support ELF fleet 1!"
"Aye aye, Mr. President!" The merc leader chimed in his recognition.
"Damn it Marquis! Do something! You think the Federation wants to hear that one of its major admirals sat back and just watched a colony be destroyed! Do you think the public at large wants to hear that? If not for the @#%$ people down there, do it to save your worthless ass from the fire!"

Re: The Antillan Raid
"... This is your problem. I'm supposed to be with my fleet by now... in fact, I think I'll..." Standing up from his seat, he pointed at the mothership. "Fire the Hyper Mega Particle Cannon at that."
"Yes sir!" The enemy ships and suits that had the colonists disappeared from the battlefield as the beam came from the Bael, ripping the enemy ship in half. It exploded in a firey blast that sent both forces around it towards Jupiter, to be destroyed b its atmosphere.
"... Well, while the colonists were kidnapped, Antillia, and its supply of fine wines, is safe. That word for you, Derence?"
Re: The Antillan Raid
Derence snorted at Marquis' 'heroics', "Traitor." He spouted out at Marquis in a rage, growling as he switched over to other channels.
"Begin the clean up. Repair the breaches in Antila ASAP. I want a report on my desk before tomorrow on the damages. ALL damages." Derence commanded. There was no 'yes sirs', not even a half-hearted 'aye, aye.' Antilla was safe, but this was no victory. And the president was very angry with Marquis... any ELF soldier could tell he had a problem with the commander of the federation ship that did so little.
"You should have been with your fleet, but the terms of the alliance require you help us in a fight if you come across us in a time of need, Marquis. I should have your court martialed and put under military review for your sluggish reaction time. No military court, not even a Federation military court, would find the time you wasted as time spent 'plotting a counter attack'." Derence replied, managing to regain his cool.
He wanted to be on the Bael now though. He wanted to introduce Marquis to the hard steel of his own ship. He wanted blood.
"Go to your fleet, Marquis. The likes of you are not needed here any longer." Derence replied before leaning back into the Ebony Enigma's cockpit, running a hand through his sweat drenched hair before switching over to his private line.
"Gather information on Marquis Elndor." He spoke only to his spymaster on the encrypted line.
"Sir...?"
"Do it."
"Yes, sir."
"Marquis, consider this your victory seeing as you're the only one here who profitted. But remember wars are not won with a single fight." Derence replied before steering the Ebony Enigma to the Antilla colony.
He had to see the devestation first hand if he was to drive that bastard out of his head.
