The Fallen
The Board meeting ran longer than he expected. He fully hoped to be back in his office over an hour ago. But, one cannot complane when that extra hour spent made his company over 20 mil. A nice trade off for being a little behind schedule.
Upon exiting his private elevator Mr. Kayel, clad in an expensive tailor-made suit, makes his way down the long hallway to his office. The two huge, ornate double doors swing open on their own as if they had awaited the return of their master, closing behind him with a loud report. Asmodius' dark eyes briefly scan the large, barely lit room until his steely gaze settles upon a lone figure adorned in a long black robe keeling before an alter made up of a thick green tablet of worn stone and many candles. Kayel strides up just behind the mystious figure and glances at the alter. The tablet is covered with a type of cunniform that has -never- been seen by human eyes. Even as Kayel and this being before him gaze upon it, it still holds that distintion. Without a word the dark figure stands and turns to face his master, immediately dropping to one knee and lowering his head. "Welcome back, my master"
Kayel: I see you have been studing. Good. You shall more than likely need the truths you see on this holy alter to comfort you on your next assignment.
Robed one: I am to perform a labor for you, master?
Kayel: Yes. I have been told by my sources that there is a large number of super powered beings operating in this area. Moreso than preveiously recorded. I want you to scout out the locations of these 'SPB's' and observe them closely. Infiltrate their instetutions and report what you find back to me.
Robed one: Am I to kill them, master?
Kayel: No, not yet. Focus on gathering information for now. Avoid conforntations as best you can, but I leave it to your judgement. Take care that your true nature is not revealed. Do you understand?
The robed figure stands and pulls back the hood of his robe revealing a hansome young-looking man with feline features. His face is covered with a very short coat of yellowish-golden fur. His cheeks are marked with a pair of reddish streaks each. His emerald green, cat-like eyes shine freely in the dim light. And his yellowish-golden hair plumes from his head not unlike a lion's mane....
Massai: I understand, my master. Thy will be done....
*Cole shimmered straight into the privet elevator, unable to enter Kayel's office via teleportation due to the mystic barriers that protect his office, much like the one they have over in their building.
Cole waited, his outter appearence seemed quiet and peaceful, yet inside his mind raged with thoughts and emotions. Pure, utter, and complete silence...if there wasn't the light humming of the elevator moving, Cole might have lost his calm posture. No matter how much he tries to control his demonic rage and instincts, it was so easy for his mind to slip into moments of quiet insanity.
He hated it, the undeniable soundless atmasphere that allowed his mind to wonder, the inability to get destracted or focus on anything but his dark and twisted thoughts. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy being in the company of his own thoughts, just simply for the fact it was hard for him to keep a civilised demenor when he endulged himself with memories in his past demonic activities.
His knuckles where pale white by the time the elevator slowed and the doors slid open, yet Cole seemed to walk out of the confined lift with pride and a sense of importance about him.
Cole was one of the few demons ever to actually meet Mr.Kayel, though infamous in the underworld, known by all the important demons, very few have actually been in his presence.
Belthazor seemed drawn to this man, in a way he couldn't explaine, he knew, should his death be of service to this man, then Cole would be honoured to die. One of the reason Kayel had become so well known amongst many of the demons, for the great Belthazor would offer his services and respect to no one until this man appeared, and his origins before his sudden appearence have remained a mystery.
The doors open on his approch, his eyes eagerly focusing on the smorgus-board of items and decorations within Mr.Kayel's office. His gaze however almost immediatly turned upon the beast man, judging, studying, and then ignoring him completely as he focuses entirely upon Mr.Kayel.
Remaining silent while the other creature was standing before Lord Kayel, waiting for it to be dismissed before proceeding anyfurther*
Phoebe: No, you said it yourself. It wasn't a smart plan. Unless, you really didn't really wanna kill us. You wanted us to be so blinded by hate that we couldn't see what you were really up to. Cole: Well, it's the only way out for me. And you want it, too, so... Phoebe: Yeah, but on our terms, not yours. We won't help you commit suicide. Cole: You already have.
The former Lord General Kayel couldn't help but smirk at his success. He had waited to hear the young warrior utter those words from the first time he laid eyes on him. And now, through cutting edge technology and dark magic, his final victory over a great foe is finally complete. He didn't have long to gloat to himself, though, as Cole makes his appearance.
"Ah, Belthazor. I see you have come to darken my doorstep yet again." Muses Kayel as he turns to Cole with a smirk, walking to him. Kayel walks toward him with a measured, almost preordained gait. It's almost as if Kayel's footfalls are as inevitable as the setting sun.
"Belthazor, I wish you to meet someone." Kayel gestures back to the robed figure who pulls his hood back up and walks up to his masters side, bowing deeply to Cole.
"He is the culmination of Project:Fallen that I told you about some time ago. His callsign is 'Fallen'. As for his name..." A feint smile crosses the dark lord's lips. "He shall be called...'Judas'" The irony of the biblical reference is not lost on the Stygian Beast. 'Judas' again, bows deeply at Cole as he is introduced showing great respect to the two powerful men.
Judas: "I great you warmly, Lord Belthazor, and I look forward to operating under your aegis in the near future. I must now depart to begin my assignment. By your leave, my master." His voice low and humble.
"You are dismissed, Judas." Giving his prized minion a sideways glance. "You know well your assignment. Do not fail me." The last words Kayel spoke were in a normal, even tone. But, something ominous in Kayel's voice gave those words the weight of a bloodcurdling scream.
I shall not, my lord.
With that, Judas walked backwards and vanishes into a shadow looking as though he was consumed by it.
Asmodius then turns his attention back to his visitor offering him a genuine smile. "Have a seat, Belthazor." Gesturing to his desk, in front of which sat three chairs. "Tell me what is on your mind"
Re: The Fallen
*Cole stared down at the robed figure as it bows, quickly Cole's eyes look up at Kayel as he mentions Project Fallen, turning his gaze down upon the creature once more in amusment.
Cole watched the beastman disappear, but soon quickly forgot about him as Kayel begins to speak*
"Have a seat, Belthazor."
*Cole's eyes shift over towards the middle seat infront of his desk, and soon enough he was sitting in that center chair*
"Tell me what is on your mind"
*His mind where like a bar of slippery soap desperatly fighting to free itself from his grasp, he took a few seconds to organise his thoughts, human souls (One of which he was cursed with) could be pesky things when dealing with torturing innocents. The constant inner battles grew worse during the recent days, yet his cold and calm nature often blinded people to the raging war going on within his mind*
Cole:"Weapon X Project : Alpha 9 is currently underway, test subject Alpha 9 A has been completed, though he caused some problems and has delayed Alpha 9 B's experiment by a few hours."
*Cole seemed unfased by this, obviously he had fixed what ever went wrong*
Cole:"And I thought I should inform you, Jarod seems to be hacking into personel files, securty files, and project files, so far he's been denied access, but each day he breaks down more barriers."
*His voice grows cold as he continues*
Cole:"I think he's out lived his welcome."
*Cole was done with his report on the recent events, he'd wait for more information before reporting on other situations taking place else where. He also made his opinion with Jarod's...disposel, since Jarod worked mainly with Obsidian Tech projects, he fell under Kayel's protection and orders.
Paitently Cole waited for Kayel's responce, or questions, and if he had any orders for him to carry out*
Phoebe: No, you said it yourself.
Re: The Fallen
Asmodius stood with his back to Cole, gazing out of his office window to Avernus square. He looks down an all of the insignificant lives that are assembled in the square. His square. He smirks inwardly as he thinks on how little they know of the true nature of the being that glares down at them.
:::Weapon X Project : Alpha 9 is currently underway, test subject Alpha 9 A has been completed, though he caused some problems and has delayed Alpha 9 B's experiment by a few hours:::
Kayel said nothing to this as he had complete faith in Cole's abilities to handle a minor setback such as that.
:::And I thought I should inform you, Jarod seems to be hacking into personnel files, security files, and project files, so far he's been denied access, but each day he breaks down more barriers:::
The dark lord's eyes narrowed at the mention of Jerod's misdeeds.
:::I think he's out lived his welcome:::
Jerod was quickly becoming a liability. He was far harder to control than previously thought. Kayel pondered for a moment before answering.
"No. Not quite yet. Put him under tight surveillance. Keep a very close watch on his everyday goings on. If he tries to enter the mainframe again, punish him......severely. If Jerod continues to be a problem....." The dark lord slowly turns his head to gaze at Cole with inhuman, stark white eyes. The slight tint of each window grows darker until the room is bathed in a pitch dark, lit only by candles.
".......Then dispose of him. I'll not have him, or anyone else hindering our plans. I'm I clear, Belthazor?"
Re: The Fallen
*It was a moment before Cole replied, he stood to his feet, taking in the complete awe of what was happening around him, although he seemed little if at all distracted by the display of dark power*
Cole:"...Perfectly."
*He says as he turns off, making his way back towards the elevator*
Cole:"..Oh.."
*Pausing, yet not even looking back as he speaks*
Cole:"When the X-Men arrive for the Alpha 9 subjects..."
*Coles head turned slightly, Kayel now able to see the side of his face*
Cole:"I've been ordered to infiltraite the X-Men base, I wont be reporting to you for a few days."
*He smiles as he continues walking ahead*
Cole:"Blake Tucker will be replacing me."
*He leaves through the doors, which close behind him, entering the elevator, he waits as it decends, then shimmers out of sight, teleporting back over to the underground chambers to finish off what they had started earlier*
