The Initiative Holding Cells
The four captives, including Riley now, where taken into the cells and placed in pairs in opposing cells, Riley and Cat in one, Thompson and Spike in the other. Riley and Spike's history where well known to the group and they weren't going to risk fights breaking out and Spike seemed desperately anxious when the thought of him being placed with the girl was considered.
They only had two remaining cells for now so until Joan could organise the removal of some of the demons crowding the room, they'd have to share the small cells. Spike's anxiety didn't fade, growing worse as they moved him towards the tiny - in his mind anyway - cells. Forrest threw Spike into the cell impatiently after the vampire began trying to wiggle out of his grasp and away from the holding cell, followed by the dumping of the agents body in the same cell.
Joan had Cat's right arm held in a tight grip as she dragged the girl into the cell, shoving her inside as Graham held Riley, giving Joan a shocked stare as she motioned for him to place Riley in the cell as well.
It was at least an hour before the effects of the drug had began to wear off, an hour which Spike spent pacing in his cell, still looking frantically for a way out, he didn't like small rooms, he didn't like this, he wanted to get out. Riley had woken and had been watching Spike for about 5 minutes, Joan had been giving him the Soldier Formula - without his knowledge - and he was an hour over due in getting it, causing his withdrawls to show. All the other agents had left, Jon and Joan off to treate his wounds in the med lab while their captives sleep off their druggings.
Riley had been placed right beside Catherine, her body had slumped against him, the withdrawls of the powerful mind controlling drug where playing havoc on his emotions and body. His arms where folded across his chest, his knees drawn to his chest as he tried to stay warm, his body shivering from the chill his body had taken as his temprature dropped. In half an hour his temprature will over heat, all the while suffering from painful stomach cramps and slight head spins. And to think, Riley was so strongly opposed to drugs in school...and he still was, he had always convinced himself..these are Meds...not Drugs..
"Why don't you just tell her you care about her?" Dawn's words echoed in his mind as he glanced at Cat's head resting against his shivering shoulder. The longer he was without the Forumal, the worse he got, it'd take a day to get over the symptoms, and after that his emotions might still be rather sensitive for another day. With a painful groan, Riley leaned forward slightly as his stomach knotted up and twisted, burning as if acid was being washed over it repeatedly, his whole body cringed before he slowly relaxed.
His heels continued to beat gently against the ground as if he was impatient, his body vibrating slightly from the quick movement of his legs which he couldn't stop even if he tried. He could hear Catherine groan as she slowly woke from her drug incuded sleep, he stared almost terrified at his jittery knees as his icy cold fingers remained clenched in his folded arms. He didn't want her to see him like this, he didn't want her to know the real Riley, she'll tell the others and then....then he won't live with himself. Tears swelled in his eyes as he looked panickly around the cell, she'll yell at him again, he always just wanted to help and she just yelled. He didn't want to get yelled at, he was in enough pain, what was wrong with him? Why was it so freezing inside the cells?
What was going to happen with him? He tried to help a captive escape...will he be put on suspended duty, forced to fight demons as punishement, removed from duty? He wasn't sure, he's never gone agaisnt orders involving releasing a captive before. Was Catherine awake? ...He was afraid to look, he didn't want her to see his face, his cold lips trembles slightly from the icy feel that wrapped itself around his entire body. How could he have done this to her? How could he have brought her here, here to the place he is afraid of, the place that won't let him go...he brought her here...here into his secret life.
He took in a shaky breath as he felt his warm tears sting his eyes and cold cheeks, keeping his head turned away from Catherine as he stared at the wall almost in disbelief over what was happening.
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
She let out a groan as she slowly came round, where was she? Cat could remember feeling like this before ... when she'd been on those awful sleeping drugs, the knocked you out really quickly but waking up took ages.
The foggy mist around her lifted slightly, she tried to lift a hand to her head but found that she had to move both of them.
Something was wrong she could feel it, trying to throw the last tendrils of sleep off she opened her eyes fully, white was all she could see for a second before her eyes adjusted to the light and she realised it was a wall. Her head was resting on something, her body supported upright.
Where was she? She looked around her, a small room, the floor four squares by four squares, a glass front and outside a white room, or hall and another similar tiny room holding spike and the still unconscious Thompson ... a cell she realised.
She looked upwards realising it was Riley's shoulder she'd been leaning against. As soon as she discovered this she scrambled to her feet and moved as far away from him as was possible in the small confines of the cell, removing the source of any heat he was getting.
'This is all your fault Riley! Why dy'a take me away like that, you told me to stay there ... you let him hurt Li ...' She stopped in mid rant noticing the fact his body was shaking, his hands clenched into fists, his face turned away from her.
It was like he'd been in Lost Angles only much worse ... his whole body seemed to be shivering.
'Riley?' She said taking one step towards him, able to see enough of his face to see tears on his cheeks ... what was wrong with him men didn't cry, why was he crying.
'You alright?' He didn't answer straight away, he didn't even turn his head towards her, with an increasing feeling of guilt she knelt back down beside him, stretching out both her cuffed hands to pat him reassuringly on the arm. She didn't know what you said to men when they were upset.
'God your freezing Riley.' She said anxiously, her anger dissipating into concern. Sitting down properly next to him she pressed her side against his to let him share some of her own body heat.

Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
The sudden urgency Cat had taken in escaping Riley's presence just made everything feel worse...and then came what he had been fearing, her raised hateful voice drected at him.
'This is all your fault Riley! Why'd ya take me away like that, you told me to stay there ... you let him hurt Li ...' He didn't tell her to stay, he wanted her to stay there, he thought she deserved the chance of having friends, friends that where nothing like Jon. A hint of anger built up inside him but he was too upset with Cat's yelling for to to linger very long. Who did he let someone hurt? Li.....Lisa? Someone hurt Lisa!? His body would have grown tense at that thought...if he wasn't already tense and shivering.
'Riley?' Her ranting had paused, hesitation in her voice as she stared at him, he could feel her move a step, he tried to look further away but he was too tired and hurt to move and turn his back to her.
'You alright?' There was no sign that he was paying attention to her, how could he have forgotten her? How could he have forgotten everything, everyone, even the school? What was wrong, why was he forgetting things? He didn't realize at first that Cat had kneeled next to him, her hands gently touching his arm, she was so warm, and the bright light was hurting his eyes. He blinked away the tears as best he could, she must have thought he was a pathetic sight, she must hate him...
'God your freezing Riley.' It wasn't long until the warmth of her body was pressed against his side, wasn't she cold? Was he the only cold person? Why was he so freezing? His stomach churned again, knotting up and twisting, he groaned in agony as he shut his eyes, resting his head on his knees for a moment as he waited for the pain to die away. After a moment, taking in a few deep breaths as he recovered slightly, he opened his eyes and slowly turned his attention towards her restraints. It took so much effort simply to pull his tense and cramped feeling arm from where it was tightly folded against his chest over to the locking device of her restraint. It took a bit of fiddling on his part, his hand too shaky and cold to obay him very well, but he managed to remove them, dropping them weakly in front of her as if that had taken all his strength.
His head dizzily leaned back against the wall the rested their backs against, closing his eyes for a moment as a wave of pain flooded his head, but that too slowly disappeared. He's been asking himself this a lot...what was wrong with him? Catherine looks healthier, she healed fast...or...how long has it been since he last saw her? It now feels like just a few hours ago..
When he recovered some of his strength, his eyes opened and his head turned slightly so he could look at Catherine, though his eyes closed sleepily for a moment, a flinch of pain in his chest caused his greenish hazel eyes to open again.
"....I don't remember.....leaving the school.." He whispered quietly, though he did remember Joan, her kiss...Lisa walking away from him, everything else was blury and muddled up.
"...I don't know why I let them take you, I didn't remember, I'm forgetting things, I-I think they're making me forget, I don't know what's wrong with me.." He couldn't raise his voice higher then a whisper even if he wanted to, he was to ill and tired, and his eyes where really hurting, he just wanted to sleep. He wanted to tell Catherine everything, he didn't want her to mad at him, he didn't know what was going on, please don't let her be mad at him again..
"Th-They where in my room, when we got back...an-and...I ordered...Spike had to take you to the Med Bay....I couldn't help you..." His hand's shifted about on his lap for a moment before he leaned forward and rested his head on his knees, it was so cold...
"I thought...thought that Lisa, I was safe, Lisa....Lisa walked away, she let....let.." He began breathing rather stressfully as he tried to force himself to speak, but it was hurting so painfully, and he was so upset...
"Lisa was right there, right there...she should have stopped her! I wasn't courting her, I wasn't, not her, wasn't, and...she let her kiss me...I wasn't courting her, she didn't have the right, we weren't courting...weren't...Lisa just walked away...left me with Joan...I don't remember...after that it's all...all mixed up.." He placed the back of his right hand against his lips as he looked up, but then his hand covered his face.
"I don't feel well..." He lowered his face once more, everything was so muddled in his mind, everything was so hazy and unclear. He tilting his down against her, his eyes closing as sleep was dangerously close upon him.
"I'm sorry..." It was as if those who twos where simply a force of habit for the guy, but he managed to always mean it every time he said that word. After that he was quiet, slipping off slightly, though the pain wouldn't let him rest for long if Cat didn't wake him.
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
his eyes slowly opened, once more the drug was wearing off but this time he registered that it had taken less time. With what seemed like great effort he stood up, looking around at his surroundings, then his cellmate, the vampire he had stopped Johnson shooting when they first entered this dimension. "spike isn't it?" he could see Catherine in a cell opposite from him, one of the commando's who had captured them was in there with her, quickly her thoughts told him the guy was called Riley.
he walked to the front of the cell, it didnt seem that secure, he could easily smash glass, inquisitively he raised his restrained hands to the glass, holding them a few inches away he could feel something pulsating over it "if i touch this, i'm going to get shocked arent i?" he turned back to the vampire, calculating the distance between the back wall of the cell and the glass front, he paced it quickly, looking at either wall in turn.
"perhaps later" he muttered patting along his coat pockets to check if they had emptied them, they had, although they seemed to have missed his glasses, he put them on as best he could, the intense light becoming nothing more than a slight irritation. Sighing he turned towards the vampire "Thompson by the way, Nick Thompson" he held out his restrained hands to shake in a gesture of friendship, surprised that he used his first name, it was against regulations to use first names, it was probably due to the drugs and being away from his partner for so long.
Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
Catherine watched eagerly as he fiddled with her restraints, feeling the cuffs fall off onto the floor, immediately rubbing her wrists. She was now sporting angry red marks where the metal had bitten into her soft skin.
If she was Lisa she would have hugged Riley and thanked him and tried to comfort him ... but she wasn't ... so she just sat in silence, feeling the cold from his body threaten to invade her own warmer one, listening as he gave a groan of pain. He was scaring her, she didn't understand why he was as ill as this, last time she'd seen his withdrawal symptoms they had been nothing like as bad as this.
'I don't know why I let them take you, I didn't remember, I'm forgetting things, I-I think they're making me forget, I don't know what's wrong with me.' She looked over at him sadly.
'Dawn really misses you, she's locked herself in her room all week.' She pulled her knees up under her chin and rested her jaw upon them, not looking at Riley but at the wall in front of her. She didn't know how to comfort a man ... at least he seemed to have stopped crying now.
'Lisa was right there, right there...she should have stopped her! I wasn't courting her, I wasn't, not her, wasn't, and...she let her kiss me...I wasn't courting her, she didn't have the right, we weren't courting...weren't...Lisa just walked away...left me with Joan...I don't remember...after that it's all...all mixed up ...'
'It's alright Riley.' She said, but she didn't really have much of a clue what he was talking about. What was courting? She'd never heard of that term before, however he seemed to think it was important since he repeated the word three times. She tucked the word away at the back of her mind.
She jumped slightly as she felt his head rest down upon her shoulder, what was he doing!? But she felt some of the stress in him dissipate and realised he must have gone to sleep. She wanted to move away from him but since he was still shivering slightly she didn't dare.

Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
The vampire had hidden himself away in the corner, pressing his back against the wall in an attempt to make the cell appear large, though he still felt as if the walls where closing in on him. He began chewing at his restraints, trying to undo them with his teeth, his hazel eyes glancing up as Thompson talked with him. After a moment, Spike let his teeth drift away from the restraints so he could reply, though his eyes darted about the cell before he spoke.
"William Spike....Spike" He mumbled, first his whole name, or the name he had taken since he doesn't know his real last name, and then the name that was to be used by this Agent. Spike smirked at the idea of the agent trying to break free, this wasn't just glass, whatever it was Spike couldn't break through it and god knows he tried for days last time they had him here. But if this agent wanted to try, then let him get shocked, Spike doubted he'd be able to convince the guy otherwise. But then the vampire looked towards Riley and Catherine, shifting his position to the front of the cell, which help him slightly to see the area outside the cell, but he was still feeling extremely claustraphobic.
Watching as Cat seemed extremely uncomfortable with Riley, Spike glanced as the Rogue Agent fell as sleep on against her, then looked down at his hands for a moment before looking over at Catherine.
"...He didn't want to come back here luv, he wanted to stay, my guess is they drugged him, forced'im to leave, kept him on the drugs until you snapped'im outta it." He glanced down at his hands once again, then at his restraints on his legs, his fingers fiddling with the restraints binding his feet together as best he could do since he was still wearing the belt. But he couldn't really do much, so he gave up and just rested his back against the wall and let his feet strech out in front of him.
"Welcome to the Initiative, Ladies'n'Gents, secret military o'demon hunters, the occasional demon experimentations and illegal operations may take place behind closed doors. From what I know, they recruit their agents young, fill their heads with all these drugs an' nonesense with out the kids even realizing what's goin' on. He hasn'got a clue what's happenn' t'him because he probably doesn't realize they're druggin' him, he's as much a captive'ere as we are, no matter what side o'the glass he's on or what he believes." Spike fidgeted about once more, not because he was trying to free his hands, but the restraints where pinching the skin of his wrists, they hurt, only struggling made them hurt more..
As more minutes passed, Riley groaned quietly as he knees shifted and rested on their side on the floor, his body seemed to lessen in it's shivers, his temperature warming slightly as he rested comfortingly agaisnt Catherine. He groaned in pain again, but he was so tired it wasn't very loud, and he was to asleep to do anymore then curl slightly more into a ball against Cat.
"Don't think they where happy with him runnin' of to Los' Angel's.." The vampire mumbled as he looked over towards Riely and then ignored them and stared at his knees, he's already been through this, why where they doing it to him again? Everything became rather warm, too warm, almost uncomfortably warm, Riley had slowly stirred from his sleep, though he heard what the vampire said and only had the strength to mumble a reply softly.
"...I had to.." The whisper was the only thing that signalled Riley had semi-woken, because his eyes remained closed as he focused solely on breathing, listening to his lungs slowly taking in the air and then releasing it only a fraction quicker. His head tilted forward for a moment, but then returned to Cat's shoulder, he wanted to go back to sleep, he was so tired, he felt so warm, his back was burning, wasn't he cold before? How'd everything get so warm? It was almost boiling now... His heart raced rapidly as his body began to over heat, he wasn't sweating either, so his body wasn't trying to cool itself down, making the heat even worse.
Re: The Initiative Holding Cells'...He didn't want to come back here luv, he wanted to stay, my guess is they drugged him, forced'im to leave, kept him on the drugs until you snapped'im outta it.' Her brown eyes softened slightly for some unknown reason, then darkened again as she thought about the idea of someone drugging Riley without his knowledge. She looked across at Spike and Thompson for a minute then looked down at the marks on her wrists.
'So how do we get back?' She asked, not really wanting to know the answer to that, she was sure it wouldn't be a good one.
'Welcome to the Initiative, Ladies'n'Gents, secret military o'demon hunters, the occasional demon experimentations and illegal operations may take place behind closed doors.'
'Then why am I here.' She said to her knees, feeling Riley curl up slightly against her, her own body still felt a bit drowsy as the effects of the drugs she'd been given still lingered around her body. She was going to make that woman pay for what she did, her stomach churned just to think about the needle on the tranquilliser Joan shot into her. She rubbed her shoulder without realising she was doing so. She wished Riley wouldn't lean against her so, he was kind of heavy and hot? She stretched out a tentative hand and let her warm fingers touch his cheek for a second, his skin was burning to the touch.
'Spike.' She said turning towards him. 'How do I make him better? He feels all hot.' She didn't like this Riley, she wanted the one who'd opened the door of Xavier's school.
'Don't think they where happy with him runnin' of to Los' Angel's.' Cat looked over to Spike again.
'Why?' She could feel Riley's heart even though his side it was pounding that fast, she wished she knew what to do to make him feel better.

Re: The Initiative Holding Cells"None of us should be here!" He growled still glaring at his knees, what more operations could they give him? He had sucha terrible feeling. He was just desperately trying to remain focused on not losing himself back into his insanity as he often did when things became too bad.
"They where after me...I ran into you, you saw Riley, he interfered...they brought you all along, won't be surprised if you lot have parts of your memory removed.." His fingers curled into fists as he lowered his head gently onto his knees, he brought them here, it was all his fault, like Lost Angels, he threw her there....he was still doing bad things....he wanted to be good yet he kept doing terrible things to others.
He looked towards Riley, one moment Catherines screaming at him, the next she's trying to nurse him, but then again, she'd done that with him as well, hadn't she? One moment she placed her hand on his chest to comfort him while he was insane, the next he brings her to the med bay and she's hurting him with her words..
"Starter's, ya might want to remove'is vest, thing looks pretty warm, might help to shed a few layers off o'him...lay'im on the floor, 'ats pretty cold, might help cool'is body.." Spike shifted his position slightly so he could look about i nthe area seperating their two cells, he glanced uncomfortable at a demon he could see in the cell beside Cat and Riley. They all seemed to be asleep, drugged from the food they where given no doubt..
"Agent's o'the Initiative aren't allowed to have minds o'their own...he went to L.A against orders, said he was breakin' some rules to do the dimensional leap..." He wouldn't mention what Riley had said to him in his room, he just tailed off and remain quiet..
Re: The Initiative Holding Cells‘They where after me...I ran into you, you saw Riley, he interfered...they brought you all along, won't be surprised if you lot have parts of your memory removed..’ That hardly seemed like ground for kidnap to her, she wanted to go back … she didn’t like it here, it was like something out of a si-fi movie. She didn't want to forget things, she wasn't letting them do anything like that to her she decided defensivley.
‘Starter's, ya might want to remove'is vest, thing looks pretty warm, might help to shed a few layers off o'him...lay'im on the floor, 'ats pretty cold, might help cool'is body..’ Starters? What else did he want her to do, she was going to ask but then she decided she’d rather not know.
She gave something like a sigh, she didn’t know hoe to undress men, it wasn’t like she had a habit of doing it … she wasn’t sure she’d ever done anything like this, she wasn’t even certain if she’d taken Jon’s clothes off, it was all rather murky and hazy. For all she remembered there could have been dancing pink elephants which had done that, maybe Jon had undressed himself, she shook her head, those were vague memories she’d rather not remember.
She shifted her position so she was kneeling in front and slightly to one of him, he wasn’t exactly making this easy for her, his legs were still drawn up to his chest, using her hands she managed to persuade his legs down into a more cross legged position so she could at least reach his vest. She glanced across at the occupants of the cell opposite her, she swore Spike had the ghost of an amuzed smile upon his lips.
‘What!!’ She snapped testily.
Her hands fumbling with the three clips which secured the vest closed and the long zip that ran all the way down the front of it. After a minute managing to get the thing undone.
Her soft hands touched his chest, her palms lying upon the hard muscles of his chest, she could swear a muscle in his chest twitched at the contact … what!! It wasn’t as if she was enjoying undressing him … was she? She’d always had a bit of a weakness for men’s chest’s and shoulder’s, anything she might be feeling, like that tingling sensation in her fingers would have happened whoever she was touching if he happened to have all the muscles in the right places as Riley seemed to. She couldn’t remember her fingers ever tingling before like this but then she decided it was probably a reaction to what ever she’d been shot with
She sucked in a breath of cool recycled air as she slid her hands upwards and outwards towards his broad shoulders, her hands pushing the vest from him, her touch lingering for perhaps a second longer than needed, then drawing her hands away. She picked the vest up and laid it to one side, looking at the thin, long sleeved green jumper he was wearing, his eyes were still closed and she wasn’t sure if he was still awake.
‘might help to shed a few layers off o'him.’ Spike wanted her to take his jumper off too, she wasn’t exactly comfortable with this whole thing.
Catherine moved a little closer to him, it wasn’t really like he was in any state to hurt her was he? His eyes were shut, she was kneeling with one of her knees either side of his left knee now, her hands clumsily reaching out for the bottom of his jumper either side of his body, her small fingers closing around the fabric of his jumper. Her arms pulling upwards, the movement also drawing the grey t-shirt he was wearing underneath upwards, her hastily tried to pull it back down while still trying to encourage the jumper upwards. Her hands brushing against his hot skin of his midriff, back and stomach, discovering that Riley had lots, lots more muscles as she tired to cover him up, determinedly not looking out of the cell at Spike and Thompson. To remove it easier she had to lean her body closer to his, her soft cheek pressed against his, her hair brushing his face for a moment
She eased both of his arms out of the confines of the jumper, she could see the muscles on his arms standing out, She wasn’t looking and staring, she just couldn’t help seeing that was all …Her hands eased the neck of the jumper over his head, patting down his hair as the material pulled it out of place. She still couldn’t look out of the cell, her cheeks felt as hot as his body had, moving away from him.
‘lay'im on the floor, 'ats pretty cold, might help cool'is body.’ She placed her hands on his shoulders again, encouraging his body downwards towards the ground.

Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
The words coming from the cell across from them barely registered on Riley's mind, only catching a blurry word or two as they talked. The sense of Catherine shifting about beside him was barely realized until her hands began encouraging his legs away from his chest and into a crossed position...what was she doing? The vampire's eyes had slowly drifted over towards the two, he knew Riley had feelings for her, like all the other girls of the school had figured out from what Dawn had told them. Poor Riley, he obviously didn't understand what he was getting involved with if he wanted to be with that girl..
‘What!!’ If Riley had the strength to flinch and shift away from her, he probably would have, he didn't like it when she snapped, she preferred it when she...well...he hasn't really known any other side of her.. Spike let his eyes wonder away from Cat, he didn't want to intrude, she seemed to be enjoying helping make Riley comfortable..it took a lot of will from the vampire not to chuckle.
Cat's fingers had began to unbuckle his coat, and slowly Riley realized what she was doing, he wasn't really very comfortable with this, he wasn't courting her, she didn't deserve to know how Dawn thought he felt for her.. He barely knew her though...Dawn was just...his exhausted mind almost froze as he felt her hands pressed softly against his chest.. He wanted to open his eyes, but they where so heavy, and then part of him feared she'd yell at him if he opened them.. He's never really let someone touch him like that before, and only his close female friends have ever hugged him, and even then it wasn't an often occurrence..
Even Claire rarely touched him, normally they'd only kiss if she wanted to kiss, and although they shared the same bed for the last year they knew each other, they never did anything. Claire was too keen on other things and Riley, although he was willing to spend his life with her, felt as if he wasn't really part of her life plans...he felt as if she always pushed him away..
And yet this girl was closer to him then Claire had ever really been...why was Catherine suddenly so gentle with him...everything seemed to have stopped, so Riley was relaxing slightly...letting his mind fall back to sleep even though the pain of the heat was still burning. But just when he began to become at ease, she shifted towards him again, her knees positioned on either side of his left leg though that didn't occur to him. Suddenly her fingers grasped the bottom of his jumper, pulling it up, along with his shirt, the air stroking against his skin...and then Catherine's fingers took all his attention...why was she stroking her fingers against him...
More importantly, way was his stomach knotting up in a very non-painful way? The next thing that filled his mind was an almost hasty stroking of Cat's hands all over him, pulling his shirt down, leaving Riley baffled over what exactly was going on. All breath was caught in his throat, his lungs unable to take in air as her cool cheek pressed against his extremely warm one, loose strands of her hair drifting into his face..
He had the strongest urge to shift his position slightly...because everything was so warm, her breath felt cool, tickling his cheek...his mind almost lost on the simple fact her lips where so close to his own.. Pulling his jumper off him, Riley felt her hand pat his head, then her presence grew distant as she moved away slightly, still close enough to take hold of his shoulders, yet....too far for Riley...
Slowly she encouraged him towards the ground..wait...what was she doing...why...as soon as his body lay against the cool ground, his temperature seemed to become more bearable. He was silent for a moment, the drowsy effects of the drug creeping away from him as he his arm rested on the floor in front of his face. His hazel eyes opened slowly, they hurt from the light, closing for a moment with a gentle groan before shifting more on his side, his eyes opening and focusing on hand.
"...Catherine..." He began quietly, sounding as if he was about to ask something that had been weighing down on his mind. They where going to spend the night here, and night did come for a while yet, so they had time to kill.. he was all confused with how he felt towards her now.. One moment he wanted to wiggle away, the next he...he was sure he was longing to feel her kiss... But he wouldn't, he'd done so many terrible things to her, he wouldn't dare presume he had a right to court her..
"When you first saw me..." He closed his eyes for a moment, he wanted to know, but...he felt bad for asking, yet...he had to know...he needed to know..he opened his eyes again and stared at his hand laying on the floor before him
"...I couldn't lie to you about being a mutant...but I couldn't tell you the truth about being human...but..I did say I didn't have any powers... And...I was trying to be helpful, I promise, I wasn't being rude...I don't know if you thought I was, I just....kept making you upset.." He wanted to sit up, he wanted to put on a better face for her...she was probably scared, she probably didn't understand what was going on..
"When I get you out of here....please, don't tell the others about the real me...don't tell them about what I am...it's been so long since I've been just Riley...I don't want him to die again.." He whispered, hoping those in the other cell wouldn't hear him, he couldn't live knowing Lisa and other others where aware of him in this life...this secret life...this terribly lonely life.. He wanted to know there where people who knew Riley Finn...normal simple Riley Finn..
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
Catherine was trying to carefully fold the jumper she'd just removed from him, she paused slightly as she heard him speak her name, turning her head slightly to glance down at him, meeting his hazel green eyes for a second.
' couldn't lie to you about being a mutant...but I couldn't tell you the truth about being human...but..I did say I didn't have any powers... And...I was trying to be helpful, I promise, I wasn't being rude...I don't know if you thought I was, I just....kept making you upset...' She looked away for a moment, her fingers brushing over the fabric of the jumper thoughtfully.
'I know I just figured that out a bit late.' She said actually giving him a small smile, a proper genuine smile, it was the first time she'd done so. She looked like a very different person when she let herself relax but she found it hard outside her group of friends. The smile faded away as he continued talking.
'I wont say anything if you don't want me to. You know your always Riley, just because they give you drugs ...' She paused laying the jumper on the floor next to his head. 'Here rest your head on your jumper ... and a gun and a number.' She remembered that woman using a string of digits when she talked to him. 'doesn't make you a different person.'
She stood and moved to the back, right corner of the cell, sitting down cross legged, her back resting against the two walls. Looking down at her lap and fidgeting with her hands. She didn't know what to say, but she didn't want to be here, she wanted to go home and she wanted to take Riley with her and then Angela and Lisa and Dawn would all be happy again
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
He watched the vampire fidget in his restraints, he looked down at his own, they would be simple to remove if he used his powers. he sat down in the onlt remaining useable corner and began to concentrate on the cuffs "they are not removing any of my memory, it would do no good, Johnson and i share all our memories"
after a few miniutes of staring a metalic click came from the cuffs and they dropped to the floor, he stretched his arms out, it felt good to move them again. reaching down to his legs he took great pleasure in removing the restraints, sighing when he had finished.
after a second he remembered he was not alone in the cell, turning his head towards the vampire he extended his arm and concentrated hard, spikes restraints clicked after a second and fell off. He moved his arm back and stood up, "i'm getting out of here"
Re: The Initiative Holding Cells'I know I just figured that out a bit late.' It wasn't her words that had caught him off guard, it was her smile, he had never seen her smile before...she looks so different. But as quickly as it came, it seemed to fade away back to where it had been hidden for so long.
'I wont say anything if you don't want me to. You know your always Riley, just because they give you drugs ...' He cringed slightly at the word 'drugs' and shut his eyes...he wasn't on drugs, he dispised drugs, he...he was on meds..special medication...not drugs...he didn't want to believe they where drugging him...he knew they where...but he didn't want to believe it..
'Here rest your head on your jumper ... and a gun and a number.' He couldn't help but think of adding 'and implants and special training and always being force to be lying'..
'doesn't make you a different person.' He only half watched her move away from him, sitting off in the corner and falling into her own thoughts. Although his hand reached for the jumper, he didn't want to crease it by putting it under his head, besides, the floor was cooling his temprature..
More minutes passed, everyone mostly had become rather quiet, exept Thompson seemed to be sizing up his cell, but the others mainly ignored his pacing.. As soon as Riley felt he was strong enough to pull himself off the floor, he struggled to his knees, his arm reaching out and resting against the wall. Taking in a deep breath, he sighed slightly before building up the energy to drag himself to his feet, he didn't feel as warm any more. He moved to the glass, his hand still reaching for the wall as if he was afraid he'd fall, he looked one way, then the other.
"No ones on duty...I don't understand what's going on, this is all against regulations." He frowned, he didn't like whatever was going on, it didn't feel right, he looked down at his right hand, making sure it wasn't trembling...and it wasn't...he felt as if he was getting all normal again...why had his temprature gone extremely cold and then warm? Well whatever was wrong with him, it was going away...
He looked over at Catherine, turning towards her but sitting down with his back against the wall across from her, part of him wanted to sit beside her to comfort her, only he figured she'd not want that... Instead he offered a faint smile, returning the one she had given him earlier.
"75329....my registration, I don't feel like a person any more, more like a machine.." His smile had long faded as he spoke, but he looked of towards Spike and Thompson as the other agent freed the vampire, who scoffed at the agents statement of freeing himself.
"Good - bloody - luck mate.." Spike mumbled rubbing his wrists as he was in awe of the mans stupidity. Riley shifted about for a moment, then placed his hand over his heart, slowly looking up at Cat once again.
"I'm not Riley Finn any more Catherine, I don't even think I remember how to act like him, Agent Finn is all I know now.." His hand left his chest, he didn't like the idea of having implants, one in his heart, the other in his head. He really didn't like waking up one day and discovering they had done that to him..
"I did try and leave once..." He began, a faint smile creeping on his face, but then he lowered his head as his smile faded and he thought over what happened...how she left him..
"I have these things...inside of me, like Spike has his implant, stops him from hurting humans, they put two inside of me, one stops me from hurting other agents. It also is used as a tracking device, someone I knew...she asked me to leave the Initiative, so I did. But they didn't stop coming after me, and she was so angry I was ruining her life that...and after she left they found me again." He fidgeted with his hands for a moment, obviously uncomfortble, he'd never talked with anyone about that before...well other then Jon, but that was the drugs talking back then..
"I'm not the same person I used to be Catherine, I couldn't survive out there, I used to be able to make my own decisions about anything, now I need to wait to be told when I'm permitted to eat, sleep, finish my watch have free time... Catherine, I am programed to follow orders, I don't think I can survive without them any more.." His hand slowly reached out for his jump that she had folded as he moved away from the wall, Jon and Joan might return, and he didn't like how Jon had talked about her... And he didn't want Jon to see Cat dressed like, he didn't take Catherine for someoen who wore such tight fitting clothes...wait....that was a uniform...an X-Men uniform, he could recognise the collor.
"Catherine, if you want you may wear this over your uniform." He offered politely, she had seemed uncomfortable back in Rogues apartment with what she was wearing, he was amazed she was wondering about with that...maybe they caught her during training. She accepted to become part of the group, part of his old team, he wished he could see everyone in their uniforms... he just wished he could see everyone..

Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
She let her head rest sideways against the wall, her temple pressed against the cool smooth surface. She wanted to go back, she wanted to talk to Lisa, she wanted to wake up in her double bed, hell she would even have welcomed an English lesson. She comforted herself with the knowledge that her team wouldn't leave her.
Catherine was still reveling in the fact that she had so much space in her room at Xaviers, it had creeped her out at first ... but she liked to be able to lye with her arms spread out if she wanted . She often didn't sleep well and she'd spend half the nigh tossing and turning, at least she didn't keep on waking up on the floor tangled in her sheets as she did at home. However she was beginning to relise that double beds could somehow be very lonely sometimes. She didn't understand what was wrong with her, she'd never really and truely felt she needed anyone in her life and she found herself thinking it might be nice just to be held as she fell to sleep. But she knew she couldn't let that happen, they'd find out then ... about her nightmares and then she'd have to explain things she'd rather not.
'I'm not Riley Finn any more Catherine, I don't even think I remember how to act like him, Agent Finn is all I know now..'
'Fine then be Agent Finn.' She said rather sulkily and looked away. 'I was just trying to help.' She muttered to herself.
'she asked me to leave the Initiative, so I did. But they didn't stop coming after me, and she was so angry I was ruining her life that...and after she left they found me again.'
Why was he telling her this? she didn't care, she was sinking down from slightly more mature Cat to stroppy teenager mode. She didn't give a toss if he had implants in his brain, that was his problem, this whole thing was his problem.
'I don't think I can survive without them any more..' She shrugged ... yet again his problem, he got himself into this whole sodding mess, he could get himself out again. She fought back the tempation to tell him to go curl up in a ball somewhere and die ... what was wrong with her, why was she so nasty all the time ... she knew the answer, she didn't know how to be anything else, or maybe she didn't want to be anything else. If you didn't let people close they couldn't hurt you.
'Catherine, if you want you may wear this over your uniform.'
'I'm not cold.' She shook her head, not looking at him, she sat for a few moments playing with the heel of her shoes then spoke again.
'Carn't we get out? there must be a way out right.'

Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
Simply staring at her, the sudden coldness in her attitude striking him as painfully as his stomach cramps that had been tormenting him for the first part of their stay in the cell. Slowly his hand pulled the jumper away, but his eyes lingered on her for a moment longer before he stared down at the item of clothing....what was he doing wrong?
He didn't know what to do anymore, he was nice, she's nasty, he opens himself up, she tears into him, he tries always and she looks at him as if he's a monster. He looked back up at her, unable to respond to her question...why did she always have to be so hurtful? He couldn't look at her any more, his eyes droppe to the floor as he struggled to remain focused, but she was so close before, he was so...and now she sits there and acts so cruel again..
He stood up, looking rather confused and upset for a moment as he shifted about on his feet, holding his jumper against his lips as he seemed distracted in thoughts that he was having trouble trying to understand. He turned and moved towards the glass, he wanted to start banging on it, he didn't care if it hurt him he wanted to get away from her...he didn't understand her.. But at the same time he didn't want to leave her alone...he turned around and looked down at her, stepping slowly towards her and knelling down in front of her once again.
"I'm not offering it because you're cold, I'm offering it because I'm afraid of what another agent might think if he sees you, I don't approve of what Jon said. This is all I can think of in hopes of stopping him from being impolite towards you, I don't want him to hurt you again." He finished once again trying to offer his jumper, stubbornly refusing to simply give up and leave her alone.
"Please Catherine.." He whispered softly with a hint of worry hovering around his tone of voice and concerned eyes.
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
She gathered her legs up to her chin once again, looking miserably at the ground once again.
She could feel him invading her personal space as he knelt down in front of her, but for some reason she didn't seem to care that much anymore. She was feeling more wretched than she had felt in a long time and being nasty to Riley was making her feel even worse.
'I'm not offering it because you're cold, I'm offering it because I'm afraid of what another agent might think if he sees you, I don't approve of what Jon said. This is all I can think of in hopes of stopping him from being impolite towards you, I don't want him to hurt you again.' She didn't make the connection between the Jon he was describing and the one she knew, how could she, it wasn't exactly an uncommon name. She looked down at the skin tight combat suit she was wearing, she'd rather not have been kidnapped wearing this, especially after that operative earlier and what Riley just said then.
She stretched out a tentative hand and accepted the jumper, hugging it to her front, not making any effort to put it on. Not once meeting his eyes even though he was only a foot from her.
'I don't wanna live in a cage Riley.' She whispered 'And I don't want my memory wiped, I don't wanna forget them, there's so much I don't remember already.' She began to look upset as she talked. 'I don't know what our wall paper looked like and I can’t remember the registration of our car.' She bent her head even more so he couldn't see her face, why was she saying this? she didn't even know him, why was she telling him things she'd never told anyone else before. She clutched the jumper closer to her, it smelt of him, her eyes fixed upon the green folds of the material, her face hovering only a few inches above it.
'And I don't remember her hugging me, or the name of the perfume she wore or what he ...' Her voice trailed off, she was still talking but the words were too low for anyone to hear them. Two tear drops fell from her eyes onto his jumper, soaking into the material and she suddenly buried her head in the material, ignoring the sound of Thompson's body hitting the glass and his curses giving a sort of muffled, pained, squeaky noise.

Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
the agent stepped so his back faced the glass wall "hopefully luck will not be needed" he took a deep breath and looked at spike "either this will work or you are going to see something bloody funny" he now stared at the opposite wall for a second, calculating the force he could generate, then ran.
he covered the very short distance of the cell in no time at all, jumping the last step so his feet contacted halfway up the wall and launched himself towards the glass on the opposite side of the cell, his body twisting mid air and his leg extended to help generate more pressure on a smaller area. He hit the glass, the whole effort had been for nothing, his extended leg merely served to extend the time period he was in contact with the electricuting glass, less than a second leater his body hit the glass as his leg gave way, his face contacting soon after, the current passing quickly through him he fell to the floor in front of the glass.
defeated he stood swiftly to get out of contact with the glass, remnants of the electricity sparking round him. "God Damn!.....Bloody!.....Sodding!.....Gah!!!!" he exclaimed in anger, spinning round on his heel and kicking the glass in a rage, only serving to get another shock.
Re: The Initiative Holding Cells'I don't wanna live in a cage Riley.' And did she assume he was rather fond of being locked up like this? He shifted his position before her as she talked, trying to become more comfortable, at first he wasn't sure who she was refurring to, but then it clicked that she was talking about her parents...her real parents. He could details...he could learn her car regiteration, but somehow he had the feeling such things would make her even more nervous of him..
He understood what she was saying though, he was scared of forgetting his family, with the chip going off so many times he was scared that'd it'd damage to memory...damage his mind and leave him useless.. Having your memory wiped was another form of brain damage in his mind, he forgot all about his life, his friends, his family, everything that's been important to him...that felt terrible, he never wanted her to go through such a fate..
"I'm not just going to let them take away your memories Catherine, they're probably worried the X-Men might come for me if they found out...if you agree not to tell.." He spoke softly, for a moment his hand was ready to reach out for her, but he had the feeling she didn't want him so close to her. Pausing, his hand hovered over her shoulder for a moment before gently resting on it, deciding he'd rather get yelled at for offering support then feel terrible for having just turned his back to her.
"If you promise...if you just forget about me, they won't have a reason to take away any of your past.." He didn't want her to forget him, he would have liked her to remember him, but not if it meant she'd have to lose everything she held dear inside her mind.
"..I never meant to cause you trouble....and I never meant to do you harm, and I wish saying sorry could fix everything but I know it can't." Hesitantly he pulled his hand away, unable to hide the expression which hinted he was worried she'd yell at him for touching her, hoping she'd keep her eyes focused on the jumper.
"I won't let you forget Catherine, I promise." Why didn't she trust him, he's only been trying to help and he had this feeling she was uneasy over his movements. Like back in the apartment, when he was offering his jumper, it was like she expected him to hurt her....has he really hurt her that badly? He stared at her discarded hand restraints for a moment, then at his own hands, he didn't want her to think he was trying to hurt her, he didn't want to scare her..
Maybe he was missreading her...maybe she was just upset he helped kidnap her, that'd be a reason to give him the cold shoulder. He wished he knew what she'd let him do, he didn't want to intrude, but she was so difficult to figure out...one minute she was smiling, the next she was hissing at him..
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
She refused to look up at him, her head still pressed against the front of the jumper, her eyes firmly closed even though tears still found their way from between her closed lashes. God was it never going to stop hurting when she thought of them?
'I'm not just going to let them take away your memories Catherine, they're probably worried the X-Men might come for me if they found out...if you agree not to tell.' She shook her hidden head fiercly. How could she go back to Dawn and the others and not tell them about Riley ... she could remember the look on Dawn's face when she discovered that he'd lied to them. She didn't want to lie to Dawn, even though she'd chose not to tell them alot about her own past.
She felt his hand on her shoulder for a moment while he talked, concentrating more on the warmth of his hand than what he was saying. His fingers seemed to spread the entire distance of her shoulder, then he removed the touch though he continued talking. The loss of his warm hand from her shoulder left an cold sensation in her body. She had to fight back the urge to hurl herself into his arms and huddle there.
'I won't let you forget Catherine, I promise.' How? he was locked in here with her, they wern't just going to let him walk around the base all happy after he'd tried to set her free right infront of them.
She hated the fact she was showing she was weak infront of him, that she was crying, maybe if she didn't look up he wouldn't notice ... She scrunched herself up more, her side and back pressing against the wall
Don't frown, you never know who might be falling in love with your smile
Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
Why was it so difficult to talk with her, why was it so difficult to help her, why didn't she like people helping her? He wished he knew more about her, more of what she wanted, what she liked, maybe if he could get her mind onto other things..
But what other things? He was worried if he asked something she'd get upset, if he asked how was Xavier’s, she could just snap and say it was good until he stole her away. How was her birthday, he wondered if she used his tickets, all the trouble he went to round up all the people and swap days so he could have all the horses on that one day..
He wasn't sure if he should bring up that either...in fact, he was worried over bringing up anything to do with her, he didn't want her to be upset with him again. And she was already upset enough, what could he do to help? Should he even bother helping....he always just messed things up when he tried to help her.. He moved slowly to the wall near her, but keeping his distance a meter away so he wasn't invading her space, placing his back against the wall and staring out towards the other cell.
Spike was staring at Thompson for a while, part of him really wished the guy had broken out, with a sigh he stared down at his black t-shirt. He had two of them now, one had long sleeves, he wore it to hide his scares during the week, but now he had healed he wore his new sleeveless one. There was the tiniest of holes in the chest area, only his keen vampire eyes could see the mark caused by the puncture of the needle. His fingers stroked over it for a moment, the soft cotton fabric soft to his touch, he liked the feel of soft things, everything he remembered back home in L.A. was so hard..
It was so quiet, all the heartbeats in the room echoed in his sensitive ears, the pulses pumping away almost like tunes of a music lyrics. He smiled faintly, he wished he was back in the music room now, just playing around with all the instruments, his two favorites where the piano and the guitar. His mother taught him the piano, she always loved to hear him play on it, but he only knew one song back there...her favorite song of all time, 'Early One Morning'.
Spike had a song he liked, he heard it while listening to the radio in the music room, well, Spike liked a whole array of different songs. But one he related to so well, he couldn't help but think of the Slayers and Rogue when he heard it, and his remarkable memory saved every word of the song into his mind. He had been playing the tune on the piano and wanted to show Rogue or anyone what he had learned...but at the same time he didn't want anyone to know he was wasting his time on silly tunes... He was a vampire, he was meant to be....well... killing things, and that most certainly was not an option.
His hands rested on his knees, after a moment his fingers began tapping gently, picturing piano keys and wondering what his mother might think if she knew he was still learning songs. She always wanted him to be a fine musician, she thought that'd earn him more money and a better reputation then his desire of being a poet.....god how right she was about that. He hummed along to the tune very quietly, he really wanted to get his mind off the small confines of this cell...sometimes his humming would turn into soft singing, before turning back to just humming once again.
"..feels like there's a stranger, who's standin' in these shoes, but I know I can't lose me, because then I'll be losin' you.." He hide his English accent pretty well, except he was still finishing 'ing's with 'in's at the end of words, a force of habit that he wasn't really away he had. But all in all, his voice was strangely well kept and seemed as if he had sung many times before in his life.
"..I know I promised baby I would be the one to make our dreams come true.." His voice dropped even more almost to a barely heard whisper, ignoring the others and just focusing on not thinking about the tiny room he was locked in. Riley stared over at him for a moment, watching as the vampires fingers drummed on his knees, needless to say...he's never seen a vampire sing before...it was rather...odd..
"...aren't ya proud of all the struggles an' hard times, we've been through, when 'is cold world comes between us, please tell me you'll be brave.." Spike's eyes looked about his cell nervously for a moment though he continued to ignore the other man locked in with him.
"..coz I can realize the danger when forgiveness stays away.." His hazel blue eyes returned to his fingers, then he closed them so he couldn't see the cell, but that didn't help, he could still feel the small walls all around him.. He pictures the Slayers in his mind, wondered what the X-Men Rogue was doing, wondering what Jen and Tasha where up to...he's never seen two slayers at once before..
"..if you don't love me, lie to me, coz baby you're tha one thing I believe, let it all fall down around us, if that's what's meant to be, right now if you don'luv me baby....lie to me.." Riley shifted about uncomfortably as he listed to Spike, who seemed to be mumbling softly a tune to himself, the Special Agent glanced over at Catherine. He still wasn't sure what to talk with her about, maybe he just shouldn't talk..
He looked at his knees for a moment, then let his right leg stretch out in front of him, the other still drawn slightly towards his chest, though a bit more relaxed now. He placed his left arm on his knee as he stared back over into the other cell, wondering why Spike was all rather stressed looking. Well, after what happened here last time with him, after what Riley had done, how he had mistreated Spike ... the vampire didn't exactly have a good time, and he did demand for them to remove the chip -after- he had escaped..
"...Spike, how did you escape last time? I was never told.." Riley spoke clearly, though at the same time quietly, his tone filled with curiosity as he eagerly wished to help get Catherine out of here. Spike glanced up, leaning forward slightly before leaning his back against the wall again, an upset look on his face as the vampire stared back at Riley.
"Spike?" Riley asked rather puzzled as what he had said to upset the creature, but Spike shut his eyes for a moment before opening them and looking towards Catherine and then back at Riley.
"I-I think I'm claustrophobic.." Was the vampire’s only reply as he hid his face on his knees and covered his head with his hands. It made sense, the way he acted on the plane, how he felt in cages, small rooms, he hated them, like he hated labs, like he hated people judging him... He cringed at the thought of what Catherine might say now, that girl would use any info she had as a weapon..
"Well, you don't like cages, you're in one, it makes sense you'll have anxiety, but do you remember how you escaped, it's important, it might help Catherine.." Riley tried asking again, Spike pulled his head from hiding and thought for a moment. He looked over at Catherine, would she want help from a vampire...of course she'll take the help, then once he's done helping she'll scream at him again.
"I jus' fought my way out...didn'eat the food, realized'ey drug the bloody lot o'us that way, but I don'understand, I haven't been bitin' people.." Riley sighed slightly as the vampire talked, that really wasn't very helpful, but he was right about his odd recapture.. He thought for a moment as he looked over towards the security desk that he was normally stationed at during his watch.
"If one of us could just open the cell doors, all four of us could fight our way back to the garage, you can take one of the cars and get out. I can hold them off so you'll be safely away before they enter the garage, they'll have no chance of catching up with you...I could disable the other vehicles.." He trailed off, wondering what would happen to him if he did such a rebellious thing, the more he pondered it, the more he just wanted to not think about such thoughts..
There was an odd silence, everything seemed so suddenly lonely for Riley, nothing made sense, why where they treating him like this? Where was Forrest and Graham...where were his best friends? They pulled him into this life, they said he'd be helping people everyday...most of his time was spent lounging around in this cell room..
"..I'm really sorry Catherine, I never meant to hurt you, when they offered me this first, I declined, but Forrest and Graham accepted. They said I'd like this, I like helping and these people are meant to be helping protect the civilian population from demonic activities. But somethings wrong, they won't let me leave, they won't let me be who I wanted to be...I don't want them to do that to you as well." He stared at his foot, why was he talking again, she was only going to shrug it off coldly or yell at him. Maybe he wanted to her to know -why- he was here, or maybe he wanted to tell her -why- he wanted to help get her out of here. Either way would she care? Sometimes he felt she was just hiding herself away...deep down where she hide her smile, she looked so different with a smile..
"They shouldn't be hurting people, they keep saying they want to help me, but then they....they keep forcing me to do things I don't like.." He pulled both his knees to his chest once again, both his arms resting against them, his right hand resting gently over the back of his left hand. He looked over at her, a faint smile appearing across his features as he thought of something ..
"I think my mother would have loved to meet you Catherine, you're so honest, you always say what's on your mind ... even if it hurts sometimes, you never lie....and that's so special." He looked back at his hands, then raised his right hand and rested his fingers against his forehead, slightly hiding his face from her view and then turning it partially away from her as he closed his eyes and just thought over things....half afraid still of her yelling back at him. What business was it of hers to know why he was an Agent, and why would she care about his mother or what she might think of her, as far as his mother was concerned he was dead..
He love her so much, but he was such a terrible son, his mother said a few times that she always wanted a girl to keep her company. But Riley was her gift to the world, that's what she always said, some gift, he was a terrible son, a terrible agent...a terrible friend..
Riley: So, tell me about your dream. As a Psych major, I'm qualified to go 'hmm.'
Re: The Initiative Holding Cells
She was quiet for a moment as she struggled to fight back the tears which threatened to continue to flow from her eyes. She hated crying, primarily because there was no one there to comfort her anymore, her face still buried in the warmth of his jumper.
'And how do they justify kidnap? how does that help the civilian population?' She said in a muffled, bitter voice into the folds of material.
She angrily wiped at her cheeks with the palms of both hands, leaving her cheeks red. She still didn't look at him, her eyes upon the jumper. She spoke at length, her voice quiet.
'I think my mother would have loved to meet you Catherine, you're so honest, you always say what's on your mind ... even if it hurts sometimes, you never lie....and that's so special.'
'Riley I'm not honest, didn't I just agree to lie to Angela, Lisa and Dawn for you a minute ago.' He'd thought she was honest ... that was nice ... wasn't it, for someone to think that of her.
'Where have you been Cat?' Anne's voice cut the dark air of the flat like a knife, Catherine winced, she'd hoped they'd have been in bed by now. There was a long silence, broken by another 'where?.'
'At Jon's.' She lied, she hadn't been there, she'd been to the Scream night club and knew full well Anne hated her going there ... and that was probably one of the main reasons she went.
She ignored the vampire and his singing, wasn't he meant to be out there trying to kill things not sitting there composing ballads to himself.
'Why does you mother think your dead Riley?' He glanced over at him for a second then down at the green jumper again. He looked surprised she could know such a thing? 'Why would you do that Riley? It's not nice, you don’t ...' She focused hard on the jumper, her hands running nervously over the green material. 'you don't understand what it does to people.' She didn't understand Riley ... she would have given anything, anything! to have her parents back and here was Riley pretending he was dead. 'None of us know what’s the truth about you anymore.' Her eyes flicked over to his face as if she was eager to find out the truth about him. For some reason it seemed important that she knew exactly who he was, but how could she believe what he said, he'd seemed genuine before and she'd been wrong.
'Who are you Riley Finn.' She said feeling like she was sitting here with a complete stranger, where was the Riley that let her into the school, the one who'd tired to make her feel welcome? Her eyes searched what she could see of his face as if she'd find the truth written there.
