The Mall
Victoria walked into the mall, her classy sandals(which she had put on instead of her usual high heels) making a strange shuffling click as she walked.
"Alright so we need to decide where we're going first. I'd say food courts, my treat and maybe you can tell me about your family or something. Oh yah how did you like the limo ride?" Victoria asked as she began to walk towards the Food Court area.
*Beth grinned, it wasn't her usual half smile or smirk, just a grin. The limo ride for her was very different. The last time she had actually gone for a drive was when her mother picked her up from school after getting in trouble. You'd be lucky if you would even call it a car, just an 'old rust bucket with wheels' as Beth reffered to.*
Beth: "Well, it's a different way of travelling, but ya know, I liked it."
*Obviously she noted it was different from running everywhere.*
Beth: "And the food courts are fine with me, I'm starved..."
*Her voice tralied off. Did she really have to talk about her family? It's not like that was an interesting topic. She let out a silent sigh as they both made their way to the food courts. If she mentioned it again, she would probably spill the beans on her family anyway.*
Beth: "Well, we're here. The almighty food court!"
*As they both arrived at the food court, Beth looked over her shoulders, as if looking for someone. then she let out a sigh of relief.*

Victoria looked over at Beth in confusion. "Who doesn't work today?" she asked, while walking over to an expensive coffee shop.
"Oh by the way what do you want to eat? I'm paying so pick whatever you want, prices mean nothing to daddy and I," Victoria continued as the line moved closer to the counter.

*At the look of confusion on Victorias face, Beth realised she had talked to herself a little louder than she thought.*
Beth: "Uuuhh...Just a security guard. We have a mutual relationship, he hates me, I hate him! Long story between us."
*She watched as the poison princess made her way to the coffee shop. That one had to be one of the most expensive ones in the whole mall. She followed after her again and looked up at the menu.*
Victoria: "Oh by the way what do you want to eat? I'm paying so pick whatever you want, prices mean nothing to daddy and I."
Beth: "Just a hot chocolate and chocolate fudge muffin."
*She looked back to Victoria.*
Beth: "What does your father do anyway? I mean, to be so rich?"
*She asked, obviously not shy to hold back thoughts.*

Victoria nodded at the security guard thing, buying it completely. "I see, I have several of those mutual hate relationships. Really what other kind are there?" the poisonous mutant asked rhetorically.
Victoria sighed as she answered Beth's question. "Basically he runs this huge company. To be honest I don't even know what it makes. Anyway big owner and several employees. Part of the business is behind closed doors though, a little not so legal which is where I come in. If anyone finds out they get bribed into secrecy. If that doesn't work I give them another deal. Their life in exchange for secrecy. Nice summer job if nothing else," Victoria said, blowing off the whole thing as if poisoning people was nothing at all.
"So how about you? What does your father do?" Victoria asked, legitamitely curious for once.

*As Victoria told Beth about her father's job she nodded. The look on her face, showed that she wasn't going to tell anyone about it. It's not that she was scared, but it's not like she wanted another dose of poison. Anyway, who did she have to tell?*
Victoria: "So how about you? What does your father do?"
Beth: "...Uh..."
*She paused, she didn't know much about her father, but she had to reply to the other mutant. And you can't hide from the past, especially when it involved her family. She looked down to the ground as she began to talk.*
Beth: "...I don't really know to tell you the truth. My mother only told me lies about him, well that's what I think. She left him once she fell pregnant. You see she hated mutants and from what I gathered my father was one. That's probably how I got my speed, a family thing maybe."
*By the way the speedy girl talked, it was clear Beth's mother hadn't been the warmest of mothers. Beth had been hurt when she was younger, other families had fun times on weekends, but she was never allowed out. She looked back up to Victoria.*
Beth: "So, I don't really know what my father does. I don't even know what he looks like...He could be in this mall now for all I know..."
*A glare crossed her face, her mother didn't even show a picture of her own father...*

Victoria wasn't the most sensitive of people but she did have a heart.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked," she said quickly but ha to cut off her conversation as they approached the counter and the cashier asked for her order.
"I'll have a Rasberry Truffle, a Vanilla Latte and a Granola muffin," Victoria said and turned to Beth, "Your turn."

Victoria couldn't really think of anything to say just then and there was an awkward silence as the order was made.
When it was ready Victoria paid with only a falsely bright smile and her dad's credit card. Taking the tray she picked a table in the corner that looked fairly clean and sat down. The poisonous mutant passed over Beth's orders and put her own in front of her.
She took a delicate sip of her vanilla latte and a bite of her truffle before asking, "So since you don't seem to be the school type at all I just have to ask. What do you do for the day?"

*Beth gave a nod as Victoria passed over her order, as if to say thanks. She took a bite from her muffin as the princess asked her question.*
Beth: "Well..."
*She finished what she had in her mouth before finishing.*
Beth: "I spend some time here, or running around. I know a few kids who live on the streets too, sometimes I hang around with them, not too fun though. I always find something to keep me occupied."
*As she finished speaking she frowned before looking over her shoulders.*
Beth: "...You wouldn't happen to feel like we're being watched would you?"
*She asked, turning her head back to face Victoria.*

"Now that you mention it I do think I feel something, maybe we are being watched. I think I've become paranoid over the years though so who really nows nowadays," Victoria said in between sips of her latte and bites of her truffle.
"Why? You think someone's watching us?" the poisonous mutant asked.
*She replied before taking another bite from her muffin. After that she took a sip from her hot chocolate. She could almost feel eyes on her back. But she was probably becoming paranoid now. Like who would seriously watch two girls eat and drink at the mall?*
Beth: "Ah..Let's forget about it, maybe we're both paranoid now..."
*She took another sip and lpaces the mug down.*
Beth: "So, what's next after this?"
*She said trying to change the subject, and then looked up to a large clock which stood just outside the food court.*
Beth: "Do you have a time to be home? Or doesn't daddy mind?"
*She asked as it was starting to get late, with a slight bit of sarcasm*

"Are you kidding? Actually Daddy got me my own penthouse appartment since it's a little far away and far too dependant for me to live at his place. I go back all the time though," Victoria said. Yup still the princess.
"Well I've been here a billion times. What do you want to do, it's totally up to you just this once," the Princess finished, looking over at Beth as she finished off her food and drinks.
(LOl! I'm inspired, I just got Angel Season 1 and I'm watching the old episodes on DVD again, back when cordy was bad! Also back when Doyle was there Luckily we haven't gotten to Hero yet. I cry everytime I see it!)

*After finding out about Victoria's penthouse, Beth's jaw nearly dropped. When she did live with her mum, it was just a small run-down house with only one bedroom, leaving Beth to sleep on the couch.*
Victoria:"Well I've been here a billion times. What do you want to do, it's totally up to you just this once."
*She nearly rolled her eyes, getting the feeling as if getting to chose what was next was a privlege.*
Beth: "Well...Maybe we could hit the shops?"
*She said, before shoving the last bit of her muffin in her mouth. She could still feel eyes upon her, but now she was just getting paranoid.*

Victoria smiled, clothes were definetly top of her list anyway.
"Okay..hmm we've got to hit Garage Clothing, Macneil's and What money can by," the Princess of Shopping said and she headed into the closest of the three stores she had mentionned.
"Pick out whatever you want, credit cards are great for this and I'm so not leaving unless I have at least 2 bags," Victoria said and she headed over to the pricey section of dresses, leaving Beth alone for a moment.
The store was a strange mix of classy dresses, ranging from summer minis to longer formal dresses, original clothing and a whole wall dedicated to various mix and match assessories. Off to the right was the part of the store most amusing for it contained bright colours and casual jeans and T's that still looked trendy. To the average, or even not so average person it looked alot better than trying to brave the dress section of the store.
Lost in shopping Heaven Victoria didn't look up for a few minutes, trusting that Beth would be able to find her way around a store and way too absorbed in the red dress she was holding to care if she couldn't.

*Beth watched Victoria walk over the the red dress. Then she looked around, it felt kind of strange to be in this shop. She normally went the the cheaper shops, not that she ever spent any of her money, normally running off with it before the shop assistants could stop her.
She felt some eyes upon her, but it wasn't the same feeling as before. She turned around and saw one of the assistants glareing at her. Beth tried to give a friendly smile and moved towards the jeans and T-Shirt section of the shop. But the assisant followed after her.
As she flicked through the jeans someone else walked in and the assistant put on a false friendly smile as she asked the lady if she wanted any help. the lady declined the offer and went to look at clothes be herself. Beth continued flicking through jeans and the assistant turned back to Beth, her false smile fading. The speedy mutant looked up from the clothes rack and made eye contact with the assistant. Not the best of things she could have done while she was in here, as the assistant leaned foward slightly as she talked to Beth.*
Assistant: "You better not think of stealing anything from my shop."
*She snarled to her.*
Beth: "Like I would!"
Assistant: "Oh yes you would. I've heard of you from the other shops. Going up-market now and coming in here to steal? Well, keep your filthy fingers off our products."
*Beth narrowed her eyes, but tried to keep calm. It was so tempting for her to go off at the assistant, but she didn't. Then she heard the clock turn over to the next day. Uh-oh, Friday... The day her most 'favourite' secrity guard worked.
Then a sarcastic grin came over her face.*
Beth: "I'm entitled to look at your products."
*With that she turned around and wlaked over to Victoria. the assistant sighed annoyedly and walked over to help someone else who had just entered the store.*
Beth: "Wow, my first time in this shop and I already have a fanclub..."

Victoria on the other hand had already had three abnormally cheerful assistants trying to help her out.
"Some reputation you've got. They all know me here, I'm one of few who'll actually buy their more expensive products so I get all the help I want," Victoria boasted.
She turned to the fourth assistant walking up to her though and shot her a glance that clearly said 'Don't try it'.
"Alright listen up," Victoria said, walking over to the sales desk. "I have taste, money and I know what I'm looking for so kindly don't send any of your stooges from happyland over again. I'll buy when I'm ready, which I'll never be if I keep getting interrupted. Oh and by the way I suggest you be real nice to my friend over here. She's with me and I'm buying whatever she wants. If on the otherhand you decide to be a major thorn in my side again I'll have to take our business elsewhere."
With that Victoria walked back to Beth who had surely heard the whole outburst. Shrugging it off as if it happened to everyone she asked, "So find anything you like or do you need fashion tips?"

*Beth smirked impressed with the princess's work. at least she wasn't one who got her daddy to do everything for her. Victoria could stand up for herself!*

*Then her curiosity asked her to find what type of clothes Victoria would think best suit Beth.*

Victoria smiled and looked through the racks. "Well you don't exactly strike me as the dress type which is a shame but I can so get around that."
She continued to look through the racks of garments before finally gesturing to Beth. "Okay chose what you like but these three rows are entirely off limits. See that striped shirt look, so last year. Now the next few rows over, those are this year."
The rows Victoria had pointed to held many tank tops in various vibrant summer colours and summer mini dresses and longer skirts.
"Just stay away from anything with Lime green or what I like to call the neons, like those bristol board pieces. Just say no to neon pink, red, yellow, orange and green. Stick to less of the I'm ty-dyed and stuck in the 60's with my hippie friends look and more of the summer's coming and I'm ready appeal. Got it?" Victoria asked, so involved in her shopping side that she wasn't sure if she had lost Beth entirely or not.
Doyle: The good fight, yeah? - You never know until you've been tested. - I get that now
Luckily we haven't gotten to Hero yet. I cry everytime I see it!)
