The Streets of Harmony - Slayers Unite and join the Fight
Since she had hightened reflexes and a very quick reaction time, Rogue coud speed and weave through traffic without any worries of crashing. She hasn't had an accident yet and she didn't plan on ever having any, but that wouldn't stop her from driving dangerously, because Cat was in trouble! Cat was the only person who she ever connected with, the only person who has ever truly saved her life. If it wasn't for Cat, then Jen would be as dead as this worlds ex-Slayer, Cat's been through enough, she wasn't going to let these soldiers harm her any further!
"You know how to handle the bike?" Rogue called over to Tasha as they skidded past a track which was going extremely slow compared to Jen. For the past week Rogue's been practicing with her mutant abilities, aparently she's the first mutant Slayer in this world as well. Perhaps that's why she instantly assured she was demonic before, but now, since she knew Cat, who had not decided to hate Rogue because she was different, Rogue had felt a sudden confidence boost.
"I need you to take control when the other's come into sight, we're almost caught up with them!" Although Tasha couldn't see it, Rogue already began to ready her body for transformation, her eyes turning yellow with white cat like slits hidden under her dark glasses.

Although Tasha seemed reluctant to get on the bike as a passenger, she was actually enjoying the ride, but it still couldn’t beat actually driving the bike herself. The dangerous driving through the midday streets was a better change than yelling at the other world’s Slayer, like she was doing not too long ago.
"You know how to handle the bike?" As if she didn’t! Tasha used to have her own but keeping it in ‘good as new’ condition was another thing. That was the reason she had to get rid of it, the bike was no longer nice and shiny with all scratches and major dints covering it, as well as the bike going through a fair bit. There was never time to properly stop the bike, instead jumping of it and letting the bike slow down to a stop by itself, which mainly consisted of it toppling over and skidding a fair distance.
"I need you to take control when the other's come into sight, we're almost caught up with them!" Not yet able to notice the change that the other Slayer was going through, Tasha just watched as they sped past the cars, trucks and other vehicles with ease.
Tasha: "Yeah, I’ll handle things here."
She called back over to Rogue, as they passed through the familiar streets of Harmony, edging closer towards Spike and the others who Tasha didn’t know of. The name of the city, Harmony, was always a wonder to Tasha. The name made the place sound as if it should be somewhat peaceful, one thing this place wasn’t.

Spike seemed to become very anxious now, this was after all his home in the other world and not a lot of nice things ever happened here. And his vampire instancts started screaming for him to run off in the opposite direction, he's never sensed the power of a Slayer so powerfully.
"You know, you lot changed the rules of the Slayer in this world, coz only one Slayer is ever chosen in every Generation, now coz there's two, from now till.. forever, there'll always be two Slayers." And truthfully Spike wasn't ever going to complain.. unless of course for some reason any furure Slayers started harrassing him for some reason. Riley didn't understand what Spike was on about, his eyes staring ahead at Catherine as if waiting for her to explain everything to him.
"How is a Slayer Chosen?" One of Riley's shaky hands took hold of the headrest of his seat, before moving back between his stomach and thighs which where pulled up against him. He didn't understand all this, but he knew it might be important if Spike kept bringing this Slayer thing up all the time.
"Oh well.. uh.. for a potential Slayer, say someone like Dawn, to become an active Slayer, like Tasha or Rogue, then either of the two active Slayers must be killed.." That name Dawn was familiar, that girl Catherine wanted him to talk with who knew Riley longer then her. Spike's attention shifted towards a large building they was coming up on, he growled unhappily.
"And there's the bloody bludgers Council, that lot'ave no clue, back home they wanted to bloody try and kill Jen, then revive her so they'd'ave another bloody Slayer.. stupid gits. I've seen what can happen if a resurrection goes wrong, an' that's not a bloody pretty picture." Riley has now decided not to care if he doesn't understand what's going on.. as long as someone does it was alright. Spike leaned forward slightly to get a better view of the traffic ahead when Cat slowed at a red light.
"Slayer's are comin', tin can-man won't attack us with all this traffic will he? Even demons'ave the courtesy to wait till dark when not as many people are 'round.." He spoke rather sarcasticly, showing he knew the demons didn't do it out of nobility but so they wouldn't get caught. When they jeep started to move again, Riley tucked his head down against his knees, no one was telling him why he was hurting so painfully..
Riley (about Catherine): ...I have the feeling she's trying to tell me something..
every single time she looks at me.. she's trying to speak to me.. and I can't hear her.

When they passed the Watcher's Council apartments that Slayer's and Potentials Slayers along with Watchers and Potential Watchers lived in, Rogue let out a laugh. Two Slayers against the Initaitive, they'd not stand a chance, she also just saw a military jeep just down the road moving towards them, and it was amusing to see Catherine driving it.
"Alright, you take control, scratch the bike, and we're going to have to have serious Slayer-to-Slayer words!" Rogue shifted her position so her feet where on the seat, she was still in good mood though, flashing the other Slayer a grin as she placed her two fingers in a salut just above her right eye. She stood up, partially crouched with her hands out as she waited for Cat's jeep to get closer, her skin becoming covered in her fine blue fur and a tail suddenly appearing with a flick in front of Tasha's face. In an instant as soon as Cat's jeep sped past, Rogue's body disappeared in a swirl of faint shimmery smoke which quickly faded away.
The next second Jen found herself sitting in the back of the jeep between Nick and Spike, she folded her arms as Spike's first reaction was to just stare at her. But when he grinned she placed the sleek black framed glasses with yellow lenses from her eyes and let it rest up on the top of her head. Spike turned his head back and watched Tasha turn the bike around so she could drive up beside the jeep, Jen simply focused her yellow eyes one Cat and then over on Riley.
"Shuffle over Kit-Cat, lemme take the wheel for a bit." She waited for Catherine to move over and give her anough room so she could teleport into the drivers seat, the white cat slit in the yellow eyes glancing outside the window before dropping her glasses over her eyes. Her form shifting back into her human apparence as she did a sharp turn down a less busy road.
"Gotta say.. fuzzy Slayer thing is kinda scaring the locals." She had a rather amused cheeky grin on her face as she checked to make sure Tasha was still following on her bike, still delighted by the expression on the other Slayers face. Her now dark eyes looked over towards Catherine and then Riley, then in the rear view mirror at Thompson's body..
"Well Spike.. you have got to be the only Vampire in history to sit in a car with two demon hunters, a Slayer and live to tell the tale." With another sharp turn Rogue had them on a back road that wasn't as crowded, finally finding the moment to looked over at Catherine. Riley wasn't sure what was going on, but he assumed that this was the Slayer that Spike was on about, and she knew Catherine.. did that mean everything was going to be alright now?
"You know, we where on our way to cause a path of destruction leading right to the Initiative's door step... you alright? They didn't do anything to you right?" Just because Catherine wasn't still down there doesn't mean that she wasn't going to pay the Initiative a visit.. but since no one was in danger she'd do it with more then just her and Tasha.. If there was one thing that was more dangerous then attacking a Slayer, it was attacking her friends.

No fair, she couldn’t treat the bike like she had done with her own! At least she got to take control of things on it for now, and having the bike going at a max speed to catch up to the jeep they were closing in on wasn’t too bad a thing. As she turned around and gave the two finger salute Tasha just smirked back at her. Rogue was defiantly in a much chirpier mood than she was before, she was clearly loving this way more than Tasha was!
Tasha: "I’ll look after ya bike like it’s my own."
Hey, Jennifer didn’t know how she treated them. It was only a slaying anyway, like she’d really wreck the bike… right? Tasha couldn’t help but blink a few times as she noticed a rather strange change overtake Rogue. Was she growing blue fur… and a tail?! Tasha actually had to move her head around so she didn’t get flicked in the face by the long blue tail.
Before anything else could happen they two had passed the jeep and Rogue had disappeared, only the shimmery smoke left in her place. It wasn’t hard to tell where she was, Slayer senses or not, she was in the jeep, and she’d teleported there… Not wanting to loose sight of the jeep Tasha let herself forget about Jennifer for a moment as she spun the bike around and made sped her way back towards the jeep.
It would have been a bit easier to see things if she had some sort of glasses on, so the wind wouldn’t keep going in her eyes, but she could see clear enough the know what was going on around her. Soon enough Tasha had caught up to be just a little bit behind the jeep, and saw who had taken the wheel. The look of surprise, that she had before, returning to her face as she remembered her with blue fur and a tail. She wasn’t a demon, after all why would there be a demonic Slayer? So, that left one possibility, she was mutant. Not only was that Slayer gifted with Slayer powers but mutant as well…
As she saw the slightest bit of a turn from the jeep Tasha quickly turned Jen’s bike to follow after them. This was way better than any high-speed chase any movie could make. You just didn’t get the adrenaline hype as you did with the real thing. This made Tasha want to get her own bike again, and if she did she might just look after it for once.

'Hello this is the initiative, they stop at nothing, remember the shooting and the explosions.' She waved a hand behind her rather glad to hear about the imminent arrival of the slayers.
She could have cried with relife when she saw a rather fuzzy Rogue appear in the back of the jeep, at least she seemed to be handling the whole turning into a cat thing better now. She jsut wanted to hang around Rouges nack, and when she heard Rogue speak a moment later she was just glad to hand control to someone else. She had the unbending belife that now Jenn was here nothing could happen to her.
'Shuffle over Kit-Cat, lemme take the wheel for a bit.' She was more than happy to comply a second later she managed to shuffle past the blue fuzzy cat in the hummer which wasn't designed for complex manouvers. Her hip screamed in protest as she had to put her full weight on it for a second and then she was in the back of the jeep. She reached up and pulled the seat belt around her, she wasn't sure what Rogue's driving was like and she didn't fancy a trip through Mr window to meet good ol' Mr road.
'You took your time.' Cat said with a half amused half grateful smile.
'You know, we where on our way to cause a path of destruction leading right to the Initiative's door step... you alright? They didn't do anything to you right.' Cat looked around the jeep at the assembled bunch, they'd taken Riley away from her, they'd just ripped her heart out and laughed at her.
'I'm fine.' She found herself saying automatically, you always do that when your asked how you are don't you? But there was no way she could explain to Rogue not here anyway, and maybe she didn't want anyone to know, it wouldn't do any good would it?
'Johnson's dead.' She said finding the words sticking in her throat, 'and they've removed Spike's chip.' She didn't look at Spike .... she had to tell Rogue didn't she? He might be a danger now, she wasn't looking at anyone. 'Riley ....' She didn't look up at him. 'They've removed Riley's memory ....' She let her figners intertwine and refused to look up at any of them.

There was a silence from the back seat after Cat had moved back there, Riley's eyes following her cautiously as she left him alone with this strange woman instead.
'I'm fine.' Rogue made a soft 'Hmmm.' sound in the back of her throat as she looked up at Cat's reflection before checking Tasha in the side mirror once more. Riley felt alone now, he wasn't sure he wanted to be so weak looking in front of this stranger.. for some reason it was different with Catherine. He was sure she wouldn't think any less of him, but now he wasn't comfortable, shifting his position so his back was facing Rogue.
'Johnson's dead.' Again Rogue's eyes flickered to the back seat, first hovering over Catherine's face then over towards Nick, fully aware of what might happen to him now he was on his own.
'and they've removed Spike's chip.' Now her eyes darted back to Catherine, was she serious!? Spike shifted about uncomfortably, looking over towards Catherine nervously, but she wasn't looking at him, he stared hard at the floor by his feet now.
'Riley ....' The mention of his name caused him to slightly move his head to peer back at her, maybe she was talking to him.. But her eyes where avoiding him, so he let his head rest back down unhappily, he didn't like being with this other woman.
'They've removed Riley's memory ....' Rogue looked up and then over towards Riley who curled up with his back to her. It wasn't surprising to Jennifer, it wasn't the first time she's seen Riley like this, her eyes glanced at his arms and then back on the road ahead of her.
"Spike, you plannin' on snacking any one?" As odd as the question was, she sounded very serious, and Spike seemed almost offended by the question.
"I most certaintly am bloody not plannin' on 'snackin'' on any one, an' I'd thank you not to be so bloodly blunt 'bout it." Obviously it was a sensitive topic to him, his arms folding over his wounded chest as his eyes stared out towards Tasha who was on the motorbike.
"Good to hear." She looked over towards Riley for a moment, then back at the street ahead, she was still not happy with Riley Finn. In her world he had allowed the Intiative to do stupid things to him, including wipping his memory and giving him cybernetic arms to increase his strength and weaponary powers.
"He's in better condition then the Riley Finn from my world." She stated rather quietly to Catherine, her eyes looked around at the buildings, it was amazing how different this area was in the light. Riley didn't like all this talk of him and his other worldly counter part, Rogue pushed her glasses back on top of her head as she looked back towards Catherine.
"When we get to the apartments, Logan's going to blast anything Initiative-like, Tasha's going to stop any one from trying to ram us or shoot our tires, Mark's going to some damage of his own along with little Kailia." The jeep pulled to a stop, Riley's body jerking forward slightly before his hand whipped out and steadied himself against the dashboard.
"You're not going to be flip flopping for the rest of the trip are you?" Rogue watched as Riley tried to curl back up in his previous position, then looked back at Catherine before turning around looking back at Spike.
"Get in the front seat." It was a simple order, but it was an order and Spike frowned slightly, it was rather sunny in the front seat.. Rogue hopped out, moving over to Riley's side and helping him out of the seat, he basicly fell on her, his skin was so hot she was amazed they had the heater on. She moved around the car to where Spike was sitting, Spike moving into the front passanger seat from within the car.
"Turn off the heater Spike." The vampire flicked off the radiator, his jaw rather tense from the sunlight hitting his arm, though he tried to inch out of the beam as best he could. Once Rogue practically pushed Riley into the jeep, she closed the door, looked back at Tasha, then moved back into the drivers seat.
"He strapped in? Coz we got a bumpy right ahead of us." Jennifer didn't wait for a reply, last thing she wanted was the initiative catching them here, they needed to get to the apartments quickly. Locking the doors, Rogue then rahter hastily moved down the rather deserted street, weaving past any cars that where parked on the sides of the road.

She had to stretch across his form, her fingers brushing over the fabric of his t-shirt lightly as she did so, she could feel her finger tips shaking for no other reason than the simple one that he was so close to her. This wasn't fair, why could she see it now, why was it only now she realsied what she felt for him, how comes only loosing him had made her see how she felt for the man next to her.
Her fingers closed around the clip for the seat belt drawing it back over his frame and fastening it back in place, she was glad to be taking orders from someone who seemed to know what they were doing and even had a plan of how they were going to get out of here.
'The appartments? But I thought we were going back to Xaviers?' She said her eyes lifting to look at the back of Jenn's head, trying not to look over at Riley too often.
'What if the initiative never give up?' She said voicing a fear that had been growing on her for some time now, she needed to know the answer she just wished Riley wasn't here when she asked it .... but she had to know. They wouldn't give Riley up would they .... what if they did. She didn't want to leave him, she didn't want to go back to the initiative ever again but if they took him again she'd ask if she could go too. Whever he was there was where she wanted to be, she didn't think she could be happy in a place that didn't contain him.

It wasn't nice being so helpless, he wanted to try and help her buckle him in, but it was so hard to move his body, his arms and legs and head, everything, it all just felt so heavy. He heard the click of the belt, he wished he understood what was going on with him.
'The appartments? But I thought we were going back to Xaviers?' With a smile, Jen looked back up at the mirror to study her friends face, her thumbs drumming rather happily on the wheel as she listened to her speak again.
'What if the initiative never give up?' It wasn't hard to see that this was important to Catherine, the Slayer dropping her glasses over her eyes as she smirked while looking outside towards Tasha's reflecting in the side mirror.
"You're going to discover the advantages of befriending a Slayer very shortly." She replied rather proudly as she looked back up at Catherine's reflection, adding another smile before she continued to speak.
"You want Finnster to be safe, then he will be safe, even if I have to wipe out the entire military organisation of Slayer wonnabees. First we blow up anyone pestering you, then we make out way towards the School, we'll be alright, trust me." Spike chuckled at the Slayer's comment, then looked back at Catherine as he added quickly in a quiet voice.
"She'd do it too Nibblet, already wipped out a few demonic orders and misguided demon hunters." Jennifer grinned, obviously in a good mood over something, her eyes looking back out the window as they passed more buildings and smaller side streets.
"You know, here, in this world, I am famous for being the worlds first mutant Slayer.. famous for being a mutant Slayer, not the Slayer that ended the world, not the one that ruined everything, apparently I did a better job here.. well.. getting my neck snapped aside.. but, apparently I was very important to the council." The word mutant sounded very alien for her to use, especially when refering to herself, and Spike was rather curiously staring at the Slayer.
"Did you see what I can do? I can teleport! It's so wicked, Angel showed me lots of neat tricks.. this is me.. mutant, non-demony, 100% human Jennifer Demore, kick ass new Generation Slayer." She was definatly handling her new realization of being a mutant much better then her old thoughts that she was a demon. And the fact that other people here knew she was a mutant made it all so much easier for her to handle. She turned down another street and moved towards the apartments, continuously glancing bakc at Tasha to make sure she was still following.
"Why is it so warm Catherine?" He didn't want to intrude on the happy girl but he was really hurting and it was getting so warm and he still didn't have a clue as to why he was hurting. His body was turned to face her, but he was leaning back against the door, he just wanted everything to be alright again.. he wanted this to all finish.

But she wanted so much just to get back to Xaviers and crawl under the covers on her bed and cry. She'd lost Riley, he was right here in front of him yet she'd lost him and she didn't know how to get him back again, but she had to try didn't she.

'Try opening a window.' There was a pause while she struggled to pluck up the courage to ask the question which she'd been dying to ask since his blindfold had been removed.
'You don't remember anything Riley?' Her voice was a little strained as her eyes looked at him, 'not anything about yesterday?' There was a slight tremble in her lips, she'd given away something she couldn't ever get back to him and he didn't even have the faintest recolection of it happening. She knew what he was about to say before he even said it, drawing her knees upto her chest and linking her arms around them, turning her head away from him so all she could see was the quick flashing past of houses. She was glad her hair was partly obscuring her face so Rogue couldn't see her full expression. Couldn't they just leave her here? She wouldn't mind, she could just lay in the middle of the road untill someone ran her over, it couldn't hurt as much as this could it. She felt like someone had taken a cheesegrater to her heart.

You'd think that'd be an easy task, but he could barely lift his arm right now, let alone turn around, open the window, then sit properly again. He let out the smallest sigh, he had hope for an explination, not a suggestion, maybe she didn't know what was wrong with him..
'You don't remember anything Riley?' He blinked slowly, then thought, still nothing came to him, he felt worse now.. sick and empty, it was such a terrible feeling.
'not anything about yesterday?' He tried to think again, but he wasn't sure what exactly she wanted him to remember. His eyes dropped down away from hers, his lips beginning to part, only to notice she had looked away from him, for some reason, to see her looking away from him.. it really hurt. It probably hurt because she was all he had and he was starting to realize she was actually upset with him for forgetting things..
He was even more upset now, she was hurting him and he was already hurting enough, he turned around, it hurt to move, and it was very painful to do that. But he didn't care, he'd rather have his back to her then see the back of her head, he felt so sick, he wished the car didn't bump around so much. Why couldn't she just tell him what she wanted him to remember, wouldn't that be the easiest thing for her to do? Why was she making him feel worse for losing his memory.. he groaned rather painfully as his stomach got worse, he didn't have the cold floor of the cells to cool him down this time, so the heat was much worse for him.

He wasn't saying anything, he wasn't even going to give her answer, he was just going to sit there. She didn't know what to do, he'd always been the one who was there for her, he was always the one to made the moves, she tired to think what he might do in her place. But she was too tired and depressed to do anything like that, she shifted her head so it rested against her knees, her face still hidden from view behind a cutain of hair and her arms. A quick glance over at Riley made her look away again as all she could see was his back, she felt like he was shutting her out on purpose.
She felt something hot on her cheek, realising it was a tear, it was quickly followed by more, why was this happening to her. Her shoulders weren't shaking and you couldn't see her face to tell that she was crying. But she felt like everything she'd gained had been taken away from her, Xaviers school, her old life, her old friends, her new friends, her X-men uniform and now the man she loved. There was just a hollow carven where her heart should have been. Why did God do this to her, he seemed to give her things and then the next second he look them away from her.

They where approaching the apartments, both Slayer's not cautiously keeping an eye on the traffic in hopes of finding any Initiative soldiers. Riley didn't care any more, he hurt, he was depressed, he was alone, he was sick, he was pretty sure nothing the initiative could do to him would be worse. His hand started tightly gripping the handle of the door, it was so boiling, he wanted to get out of the car, he felt as if he was dying, it wasn't fair, it wasn't at all fair that he was feeling like this. But the door was locked again, he wasn't at all pleased with any of this, he turned his body around, but leaned down, curling up again on the seat but this time with his face down.
His body rocked lightly as the agony he was feeling just seemed to eat away at everything, he was tired, tired of being scared, tired of being upset, tired of being in pain and tired of running, running for his life because of reasons he couldn't even remember.
"I want to go home, I don't care where that is, I don't care, I just want to go to a place that will be my home, somewhere to rest, I want to rest.. I want the pain to stop so I can rest.. why won't you make it stop?" He didn't expect her to wave her hand and make the pain go away, but no one was even trying to help him, no one even cared he was hurting. Couldn't they do anything, even if it was just telling him why he was hurting like this.. who cared about his stupid memories, he didn't care about them right now, he was sick, that's what he cared about, he wanted to get better, that's all he wanted right now.. to get better and have the pain stop, it was becoming so unbareable.

She pressed her eyes hard against her knees in an effort to dry her eyes, then she looked up slightly, not enough so that anyone who might be looking could see her face. She remembered just then what she'd been told .... about his meds. She could smell him on her clothes, on her skin, she just wanted to stay like this and pretend she was still back in the initiative compound and that it was last night and that she smelt of him because he was holding her.
'It's withdrawl symptoms.' She stated simpily, her voice betraying the fact she'd just been crying, but she ignored it in the hope that if she did so the others might not noitce, or they wouldn't comment on it even if they did.
'You were on meds.' Her eyes finally managed to drift over to him even though he wasn't looking at her, she didn't want to tell him this, why did she have to tell him all the bad things all the time. He'd begin to wonder in the end if this was all she was caperable of doing, all she told him was bad. She'd just informed him he was little better than a druggie now, should she tell him he tried to shoot her too?
She let her feet drop to the floor again, her fingers messing in her lap for a moment, before she seemed to make an unconcious descision, the idea of Riley in pain was not one she liked in the least.
She had to unclip her seat belt and shift her body closer to his, turning around to face him and drawing her knees under her.
'Don't worry I'm not going to hurt you.' His eyes were still closed, she could half see them even though his head was bent. Her small hands reached out and encouraged him to sit more upright so she could take hold of the base of his t-shirt, her soft skin brushing against his hotter skin. She pulled upwards, getting the t-shirt off him was rather hard since he didn't seem to do anything to help her. She tried very hard not to look at his muscles, but her eyes couldn't help caressing his form just a little bit. He still looked as amazing as he had the night before, her eyes fell upon the two dog tags ... what would he say when he saw he had one of her tags? He'd want to know why wouldn't he ... and what was she supposed to say then? She could read her name upon the tags, glinting in the early afternoon sun, her hand streatched out and turned it over so that only the smooth metal back could be seen, maybe she could switch them when he was asleep or something.
Her body leaned a little closer to him as she streatched over to press the window button down a little so the window opened a bit. Even though she wasn't touching him her body still reached slightly to his presence feeling a shiver run down her spine at how close she was to him. She leaned in a little closer to him on the pretext of speaking to him again.
'I guess I like music best.' She said rather quietly in response to a question he'd asked her over an hour ago about what subject she liked.

When it seemed like she ignored his words, Riley just burried his face further between his arms, he didn't want anyone to see him, he didn't want to be here any more. It was hurting so much, it hurt when he breathed, it hurt when he moved, but he had to move, it hurt when he sat still as well, it just kept hurting..
'It's withdrawl symptoms.' From what? What had he been taking that made it so terrible for him to not take any more. Had she been crying? Her voice sounded as if she had.. that's exactly what he wanted, to cause her to cry because he couldn't remember the stupid thing she wanted him to. He had his memory taken away from him, wasn't that bad enough? Why did she have to be so hard on him, how could she expect him to remember certain things on cue just because she wanted him to? Did she think it was his choice to forget everything, or to not be able to remember anything, he doesn't know his families names, he doesn't know what foods he likes to eat, he doesn't know anything..
'You were on meds.' He didn't like how her voice sounded, he remembered the needle marks in his arms again, he was suddenly very disgusted with himself. Maybe this is what he deserved, it'd serve him right, how could he do this to himself, suddenly there was no other villain except Riley Finn. Her belt uncliped, he heard Catherine shuffle closer to him, what was she doing? He didn't have the strength to bother looking up, he didn't care.. he just wanted to sleep and never wake up.
'Don't worry I'm not going to hurt you.' No, she's already done that, beside's wasn't it his job to hurt her, he must have already done so, because the way she flinched when he struck that dashboard.. she was scared of him, but then again, wouldn't any one be afraid of someone like him? Why was she forcing him to move, it hurt, didn't she understand.. everything hurt.. suddenly he realized her hands where at the base of his shirt, he could feel her cooler fingers touching his burning skin. His breathing picked up, now he found himself wondering what on earth she was doing again, her hands where pulling his shirt upwards, his arms felt so heavy, plus he was confused so he barely found himself able to help at all.
Ok.. now he felt rather naked.. being half naked and all.. and as strange as this next thought was going sound, it felt very familiar. One of his arms moved over his chest for a moment to hide it from sight, but then it rolled down his stmach and rested on his lap rather lifelessly. His lips parted but his teeth remained clamped together painfully, shutting his eyes tightly as he tried to breath with as little pain as possible. The tips of Catherine's finger touched hs chest, causing Riley to open his eyes and stare at her. He could feel she was playing with something he had around his neck, but he was too tired to tilt his head downwards right now.
Now she stretched across him, reaching over for his window, which slid down slightly to allow a cool breez to beat down against his warm bare skin. It felt very nice, his head instinctivly turned towards the breeze, his eyes closing again as the cool relief removed some of the discomfort. He felt as if all his energy was just drained from him, he wanted to feel better so deserperately, when he opened his eyes he was partially surprised to notice Catherine was still close to him. When she spoke he smiled, he felt better now that she wasn't acting so upset because he couldn't remember things,
'I guess I like music best.' It took a moment for him to realize she was probably responding to the question he had asked a while ago. After hearing her sing he wasn't surprised, she had a nice voice, he smiled again, his eyes remaining focused on hers. His legs fidgeted about for a moment, partly wanting to pull up towards his chest and yet wanting to remain down off the seat at the same time. He wanted to say something.. but he wasn't sure what, it was hard to breath, but he was tired of complaining about things.
"Catherine.. what will I do now?" It just occured to him, he was part of this military organisation right? And that new girl, the Slayer, she had called him a demon hunter, so what could he do in a school? He inched the slightlest bit closer to her, he didn't like all these strangers in the car with him, over hearing how his life has fallen apart. There was a stream of loud bangs, the jeep turned a corner so sharply that Riley's arms lashed around Catherine's unrestrained form, one of his hands resting on the back of her head to stop her from hurting her neck.
"Hold on!" At Jennifer's warming, Riley's arms pulled Catherine even closer against him, his arms wrapping around her more securly. The jerking movements of the jeep as Jennifer avoiding the traffic on the road while hastily trying to out run three motorbikes that where chasing them caused Riley to clench his teeth as he groaned painful. The Slayer stared out at Tasha's reflection, the other Slayer looking around for the attackers before she disappeared from Rogue's sight.
Riley's knees pulled up weakly against Catherine's back as his stomach screamed in pain, the young man's breathing becoming more like strained whimpers. Riley's cheek rested against the top of Catherine's head, his eyes flickering open and closed every other moment. Shutting his eyes tightly as the jeep seemed to smash into something, possibly another car that had gotten in Jenn's way, yet not at all slowing her down.
"You know.. I will always have the memories, I just can't get to them right now, but that doesn't mean I've truly lost them, I just need time to get them back. I will remember, one day I'll remember everything, please don't be mad at me.. I'm sorry I can't remember, but I am trying.. I'm trying so hard.." It was an odd time for Riley to begin talking, but he felt so comfortable holding her that half of what was going on outside wasn't really getting through to him. He didn't want Catherine to be upset, she was his friend and he didn't want her to every be upset because of something he can't do for her. But right now he can't remember things and that's what she wants from him, to remember, and he can't, and that was upsetting her.
Riley (about Catherine): ...I have the feeling she's trying to tell me something..

She didn't have time to respond to him before there were several loud bangs, her body jerking to one side as the car span quickly around a corner. A split second later she felt Riley's arms about her, one of his hands dropping resting on the back of her head.
'Hold on.' Now she thought was not the best time for a high speed chase, she wanted to get back to her seat, she wanted to have a seat belt around her, but at the same time she didn't want to move a muscle. His arms were around her ...
The next second she felt his arms close tighter around her, pulling her agaisnt his chest, his arms almsot uncomfortably tight but she didn't care. He was holding her, her own hands moved instinctivley to his shoulders, her grip tightening on him as Rogue crashed into something, Cat wondered for a second if she was going to die but then maybe it wouldn't be too bad since Riley was here.

Her reply was rather muffled since her face was pressing against his chest.
'It doesn't matter, as long as your alive.' Her voice was scared, she didn't like this, she didn't want him to stop holding her .... ever, she didn't want to feel alone anymore.

His arms, although remaining firmly around her, suddenly released some of their strength, he didn't want to hurt her, he wished he understood his strength, it was so hard, he didn't mean to hurt her and he was. He hoped he hadn't been holding her too tightly, he had to be more careful, but he wasn't sure, she didn't comment this time..
"...Alive is good." He replied rather slowly, almost trying to convince himself of what he was saying, but he looked down at Catherine, deciding alive is better then good, he had nice friends.. he was happy. Riley's eyes moved up to the roof as a clutter of clanks where heard scattering along the top of the jeep, the bullets pounding against the Hummer. There was another smash as one of the initiative cars had began to pull out in front of the jeep, Jen weaving around it just in time.
Pulling away slightly as the drive seemed to have smoothed slightly, ignoring the thundering screams and sirens of the police cars and initiative soldiers. Riley's cheek stroked against the side of her head as he pulled away, turning his head to see outside the window. He looked back at Catherine as they turned a corner, still holding her so she wouldn't get hurt. It was strange holding her so closely, nothing could hurt him while he was with this friend of his, she was strong and brave and she was always going to be with him, that's what she had said. His eyes dropped down to his stomach as pains shot through it, but he looked back up at Catherine, offering her a soft smile. They where going to be alright, they would be, he just knew it, he didn't care how it looked, they got this far, they'd get the whole way.
"Hold tight, this is it!" Jennifer looked over towards Spike who had hit his head a few times in the twists and turns and wasn't very pleased with the insane drivers these females seemed to be.
"Take the wheel, I'll be back in two flicks of a tail!" Before Spike could complain, Rogue had shifted forms and disappeared, a glittery puff of smoke lasting a second after she leaves.
"Bloody hell!" Spike quickly climbed into the drivers seat as the car behind the jeep bumped into them, Riley curled more protectivly around Catherine, his eyes closing as the jeep swerved around other vehicles. Rogue's form appearing and disappearing over verious cars as she made her way towards any initiative riders in order to dismount them.

She felt his grip on her loosen slightly, he was still holding her but just not as hard as before, if they weren't being hunted by the initiative at the moment she would have enjoyed this a lot more than she was. Even so she couldn't help her hands slipping from his shoulders to around his neck, remembering the way he'd kissed her and held her last night.
The cool metal of his dog tags pressed against her cheek, in stark contrast to the fierce heat of his body.
"...Alive is good."
"Take the wheel, I'll be back in two flicks of a tail!" She couldn't see what was going on, partley because her head was resting against his chest partley because she had her eyes shut tightly. She wasn't sure she wanted to know though, she just hoped Rogue hadn't been talking to her.
'Don't worry I'm sure Xavier won't send you back to the initiative, I'll talk to him I'll explain everything. They can't hold you accounterable for something you don't remember doing.'

Maybe they couldn't, but Riley was definatly going to be kicking himself for a while, how dare he betray someone like Catherine and her friends.. his friends. He was starting to feel dizzy from all the bangs and crashes, plus the heat, and Riley hadn't paid any attention to how she was holding him right now. He wouldn't realize until much later how comfortable her arms really where, he wouldn't realize how much he'd long to have her sit with him like this in just a few days..
It was rather uncomfortable to have the jeep swerve from side to side, but Spike couldn't help it, they where passing the apartments and Logan was casting spells that disabled the operatives chasing them, other cars trying to avoid each other. It all made driving so dangerous, and his hightened skills where the only thing stopping them from crashing, Riley wasn't sure he was as confident as Catherine, would these people he was spying on want to help protect him? Hadn't he betrayed them.. what if they don't let him stay, what if he has to leave, what if Catherine does stay with him? That means they'd both be running for so long, and if he get's captured then she'll be captured, or worse, killed, and it'll be all his fault.
He removed his hand from the back of her head, his eyes watching his fingers as they tremble slightly, hadn't he gone passed this stage already? Spike looked over towards Tasha who was dealing with her own share of attacks, he suddenly became extremely anxious.
"I can't go back to the school.. not yet.." He was talking completely to himself, tapping his fingers against the wheel for a moment as he watched Jen hop from one place to another.
"Alright.. Riley, what stage you at with them withdrawls?" The vampire looked at the mirror to see Riley who just turned his head slightly to look at the vampire, how was he supposed to know what 'stage' he was at.. He only just found out he was on drugs, taking in a shaky breath, Riley spoke very slowly, he wasn't feeling too well with all these jerking movements.
"..Uh.. the stage..?" His hand rested on the back of Catherine's head, the tips of his fingers tapping lightly against her as he spoke.
"Cat, he's going to start tremblin' once again, but that is his heart implant fightin' against the drugs in his system, shouldn't last more then an hour. Lil'warning, back in my world, when Jenn captured Riley an' he went through his withdrawls, the guy got a lil'emotional.. tad dillusional, should fall asleep after'at an' when he wakes, bright as rain, lil'hang over." Spike glanced back at Catherine to make sure she understood that, so she at least had an idea for when the drugs where fading in his system. There was only a moment between when he looked back at the road ahead and when Jennifer appeared in the front passanger seat. Spike's hand reached for the door, looked back at Catherine and then over towards Jennifer.
"Can we borrow your bike?" Rogue narrowed her eyes slightly at the idea of losing her bike, but then found herself wondering why he wanted her bike. She just gave a small nod as he opened the door, obviously hurting from the sunlight that touched his skin.
"Where are you going? Logan can handle any of the left over agents, most of them are gone, I didn't notice anyone else following." Spike stepped out, glancing down at Tasha and motioning her to drive closer, then looking bakc at Jennifer.
"Just goin' to get something I lost, be right back blue, take care!" He grinned, throwing Catherine one last look, then shutting the door as Rogue took control of the jeep again, the vampire leaping onto the back of the bike and giving Tasha a rather pained grin before tucking his head down.
"Next stop.. Xavier's!" She ignored Catherine remaining cuddled up to Riley, already aware of Riley's fondness of the girl from what Dawn had told her.
"Heart implant?" He had remained quiet for a moment, but then sighed and just shut his eyes, this was all so unbelievable.. He couldn't wait to get to this school, to just stop and rest.. and have someone tell him what exactly is going on.

'Heart implant.' She looked up at him for the first time, now they wern't being persued as closley as before she had no right to be this close to him, there was no need for it except the simple on that she thought she might start crying again if he let her go.
She let herself stay like this for just a moment longer, trying to imprint what this felt like onto the back of her mind. Then slowly she extracted herself from his arms, loosening her hold about his neck. She moved away from him, buckling herself back into the seat again.
'Umm I think it numbs your pain receptors and keeps you in shape.' There was a pause while she tried to dredge through her memory banks. 'and it increases your strength as well.' She was looking out of the front window now, glad to know they would be back at Xavier's soon. She had a large tub of ice cream with her name on it back at the school, that was one of the things that often cheered her up, ice cream, Anne didn't usually have much around the flat since she spent half her life trying to diet.

Catherine's head tilted up to look at him, he didn't even think of letting go of her, it seemed so naturel to hold her that he didn't think at all about it. Slowly he felt her arms slither away from his neck, her body leaving his and a cool rush of air stroking against his skin as she buckled into her seat once more.
'Umm I think it numbs your pain receptors and keeps you in shape.' ... 'and it increases your strength as well.' This was unbelievable, he had a chip in his head that pumped him full of pain and a chip in his heart that kept him healthy and strong? He felt very alone without her presnse for some reason, even if she was just a short distance away from him. He pulled his knees up to his chest and wrapped his shaky arms around them 'lil'emotional.. tad dillusional'..
"What did he mean? Catherine? What did he mean emotional and dillusional, I don't want that to happen, can't you stop it from happening? I..." There was so many things he didn't want, his head buried itself against his knees, he didn't like anything that was happening, everything he knows of Riley Finn was terrible except that he had a friend like Catherine.
"I want to be normal.. that'd be nice.. I want to be better then this.. I want to be like you." She was free, she didn't betray any of her friends, she didn't spy on people, she didn't take drugs, she didn't work for an organisation that tried to kill her for reasons he STILL wasn't aware of.
"We'll be back in the school in just over ten minutes guys." Rogue informed her passengers as they entered another highway that headed towards the Institute, Riley didn't really pay her words much attention. His back tapped against the door behind him as he gently swayed back and for out of the pain from his stomach, He just wanted to lay down and curl up, close his eyes and he wouldn't complain if they never opened again..
"It's not doing a very good job of numbing my pain." Riley mumbled unhappily in regards to his implant and the agony in his stomach still causing him high levels of discomfort, even if his body was cooling down slowly.
