The beginings of a personal nightmare.
Catherine was finding it hard to concentrate on anything but the excruciating pain in her throat, it seemed to have moved up slightly from her stomach and settled in her throat. It was becoming unberably painful, her body was still curled up even in his arms, every muscle in her was tense. She was glad he was here, now Riley was with her everything would be alright, it had to be.

She'd had some idea that she'd probably be doing some kind of damage to her throat or stomach by being sick so often One of her doctors had mentioned something about it but she didn't know exactly what was wrong. By being sick so often she'd managed to tear the delicate lining of her throat.

Her body was suddenly wracked by a fit of coughing which seemed to shake her whole frame, she didn't understand how she could go from being so well only a few hours ago to feeling like this now. She could feel the foul taste of blood in her mouth.

The door of the medical bay slid open, her whole body tensing more in response, her eyes flickering open as she realised where she was. She didn't want to be here ... they could have stayed back in his room, she was sure the pain would go away in a bit.

He seemed to deposit her body carefully down on one of the examination tables, but she refused to uncurl from her position, she had the added worry that they'd start poking her with needles. She wanted to grab hold of Riley and stop him leaving her but she didn't seem to be able to move from the position she found herself in.

She could feel hands trying to coax her to lye properly on the medical table but her frame resisted the hands, her muscles tensing again. Where was Riley? she had her eyes scruntched shut against the glare of the lights and the pain.

Cat: Do you think I should go back?
Nina: Cat.. he's only a man.
Cat: You don't understand...

Re: The beginings of a personal nightmare.
What was wrong with her? His arms screamed to wrap about her the instant he had pulled them away after leaving her on the bed to be taken care of by Doctor McCoy. When the furred mutant attempted to try and straighten her body out against her will, Riley glared a little as a sudden surge of wanting to protect her from things she didn't like filled him, even though the doctor was trying to help her, she didn't want to alter her position. The former initiative agent forced his eyes away to stare off at another empty bed, his hands fidgeting and rubbing together stressfully as his girlfriend lay curled on the bed beside him. Beast studied her for a moment before going 'hmmmmm' and then just wondering off to look for something in his medican cabniet. Riley found himself glaring at the blue furred mutant, you can't go 'hmm' and walk off!! Riley shifted to the other side of the bed since Catherine had her back to him, he didn't feel well and all this wasn't helping but he didn't care, if Catherine was in pain that was all that was hurting him right now, his ribs and head meant nothing.

Pulling a chair up against the wall beside her bed, sitting down rather dizzily as he rested his head back against the wall for a moment before looking towards Catherine's scrunched up eyes and pained expression. He didn't want to get in the way of Beast trying to help her, but Riley couldn't help but lean towards her, one arm reaching behind her head, his hand resting on her shoulders while his other hand lightly touched her cheek with his palm. He leaned forward a little more, the fingers on her cheek flinching slightly as his ribs rippled with pain from his movement. But he had to kiss her, he had to allow his lips to touch her forehead, his chin slowly resting on the thin pillow of her medical bed before he whispered softly so only she could hear.. Though Beast sensitive hearing would have picked up the lightest of whispers.

"I'm still here Catherine... I'm still here with you." Repeating the words he had used earlier in what seemed like a failed attempt of assuring her everything would be alright, Riley let his face be hidden down on the covers near the top of her head. After the first night they made love Joan had wiped his memory, the second time they made love had been great only she wasn't able to remain there the entire night.. the third time they attempted to make love they where interrupted.. And now.. now after what she had done just a few short hours ago.. now she is in agony.. Why did things have to be so hard for them?

There was an eagerness in his eyes as he looked up at Beast who was approching, it wasn't the kind of eager look he had given Catherine so many times, but a more pleading one. He wanted to know what was wrong with her, how long will she be here, why was she hurting? Beast looked at the screen that was monitering her, there was damage that would need more then just healing, she'd need a lot of rest, she'd need to take care of herself otherwise this will only continue repeating itself..

"As long as she gets plenty of rest and some proper medication, she should be fine, but if she doesn't get her rest and refuses her medication then it'll only become more serious." The worried look that struck Riley as he stared over towards her monitor, why would she refuse them? McCoy went on to explain things more thoroughly, but it was hard for Riley to hear him, his mind focused so strongly on Catherine and her pain. She had been sick often? The acid had eaten away at her sensitive flesh, weakening it.. why had she been sick? Slipping his white shirt over his head while Beast moved off to get a warm blanket for her, the look of hurt disappointment and worry hitting his eyes at the sight that meant she wasn't coming back to their new room tonight.

"There's internal damage that needs to be repaired Riley, and speaking of damage, you should be resting here as well, you'll both feel better in the morning, and once she's healed a little I'll give her the first dose of her medication." Riley stared at Catherine, his hand returning to stroke against her cheek lightly with the tips of his fingers. If he was a mutant and if he had the power to heal then he could make Catherine better.. but he couldn't heal her.. he wasn't a mutant.. he was a helpless human who had no choice but to wait for her to slowly get better. Beast had a mouth mask in his large paw, the intelligent feline talking in a soft and caring tone as he looked down at Catherine's curled up form.

"Don't worry Miss Hall, this will just let you go to sleep and ease the pain." The gentlness of his words seemed odd and often shocking to those who did not know the blue feline mutant. Riley looked a little uneasy as he placed the mask lightly over her mouth and nose, his large paw gently resting on the back of her head as she breathed in the sweet scented aroma that brought on an almost instant drowziness.

"I'll be here Catherine, I won't leave you, I promise." As soon as Beast had pulled the mask away and moved off to ready Catherine's first intection, one she would luckily be given while asleep, Riley inched himself closer to her. His arms wrapping about her as best he could, his lips pressing against her forehead before he cuddled her. Minutes passed and didn't leave, he knew she had fallen asleep and he knew Beast had readied the bed beside her for him to lay on but he couldn't handle letting her go just yet. It wasn't until Beast finally came over and guided the exhausted young man to the bed and helped him up that Riley was able to leave her side, but his eyes stared over towards her as he watched Beast dab her arm with a cottom bud coated with a special medication to numb her skin as he then gently slid a needle in her arm. It wasn't too long after that Riley's eyes had grown too heavy to be able to keep them open any longer, his hands tugging off his shirt and tossing it on the seat between his bed and Catherine's.

'I won't leave you Riley, I promise.' There was a playful look in his eyes as his arms wrapped about Catherine's waist and pulled her closer against his body, his charming smile staring down at her as she placed her hands on his bare chest. 'I know Catherine, I believe you, I'll never leave you either.' She smiled sweetly up at him, her long lashes giving her a cute look as she leaned up to kiss him, but as she broke their kiss, she pulled away from his arms and giggled lightly, walking a few steps backwards. 'I'm not going anywhere Riley.' He smiled brightly at her, but the smile faded as she continued to move away, even though she was saying she wasn't leaving, something was scaring Riley, something was telling him she was leaving, why was she moving away from him? 'If you're not leaving, then where are you going?' There was a little panic in his tone as she seemed to fade into a black doorway, now there was nothing else around him, it was all white, yet familiar, frightening, he wanted to get away from all this white. 'Catherine!?' He could hear her light chuckles, but they where all around him, he wasn't sure where she was, she was nowhere to be seen. 'I'm not leaving you Riley.' Her voice came from a certain direction now, he turned and moved towards an endless white wall which now seemed to surround him. On the wall was a speaker, he leaned his lips towards the silver plate that had many round small holes in it and replied to her voice. 'If you're not leaving, then where are you?' There wasn't a reply, he waited a little longer but then started banging his palms onto the wall as he screamed out her name and repeated his question.

'Calm down Riley, you'll never get her attention that way.' Riley turned his head to stare at Graham who was leaning against the wall now, his dark skin making him stand out strongly in the white room. He was in his military uniform, a green t-shirt and his army pants with a black belt wrapped around his waist. The fear of having lost her was causing Riley's hands to grow sweaty, wiping them on his green singlet which he didn't seem to notice he was now wearing compared to the fact he was shirtless earlier with Catherine. Glaring away from Graham and facing the wall again, Riley's black booted foot kicking hard into the wall before his fingers grabbed at a panel, the speaker seeming to no longer be there. Pulling open a part of the wall, revealing inside a smaller grey panel with a black screen above it, Riley quickly opened the panel and a collection of buttons where unhidden, his fingers quickly pressing in his codes in hopes that would get him out of the room.

'Well now you've done it.. Rye, I really hoped you wouldn't do this to yourself again, but it seems you sure do like trouble.' Riley turned around and stared rather confused at Graham who directed his gaze over towards a distant wall, Riley followed and saw a wall rising up. He began moving towards it quickly, there was someone on the other side of the glass with Catherine. Hurrying into a jog, then almost sprinting as fast as he could as he realized she was holding the other man and kissing him like she should only ever do for Riley. He slammed into the glass and began pounding his palms against it as he called out her name, looking as if he was ready to collapse into tears. 'You said you wouldn't leave me!' Catherine turned her head a little to stare at Riley and gave him a tiny smile, the man turned his head about as well, Riley's own face staring back at him, but it wasn't Riley, it was Marc Lucas, Riley knew that without any doubts, and this only made him more angry.

Everything began to tremble though, there where panicked yells all about, Riley looked behind him and called out for everyone to stay back, the large room now suddenly filled with an endless amount of people. There was a door in the glass window, Marc had been so scared of a wave of parasite demons that where racing hastily towards the two on the other side of the wall. As long as Riley stayed on this side he was on then he would be safe, but Catherine and Marc would die. Riley grabbed onto the glass handle and pulled open the door, everything on the other side was suddenly windy and full of screams that peirced the ears. Riley's calls for Catherine went unheard as she fell to her knees in pain, clasping the palms of her hands over her ears, Marc doing the same only managing to stay on his feet. Riley demanded Marc grab Catherine, but he just ran towards the door and left her on the ground, Riley stared at her and then the wave of tiny slug like demons that all had their mouths wide open, it looked like a wall full of teeth was desending towards his girlfriend.

Marc rushed through the door, there was no chance Riley could get her and get back, she struggled a few feet towards the doorway but then sat in tears as she knew there was no way for her to reach the passage in time. Starting to close the door, the lives of many after all outweigh the life of one, even if it was the girl he loves.. But at the last minute Riley slipped his body onto the otherside of the door, shutting it tightly behind him and staring at Graham who was banging on the glass wall, searching desperately for the handle that seemed to have now vanished. Wasting no more time, he rushed over towards Catherine, knelling down in front of her and wrapping his arms about her. 'Get off me!!' Her angry scream was followed by her trying to throw him off her, but Riley's arms held their embrace firmly as he leaned forward and called out in her ear over the screeches of the on coming wave of death 'I still love you! Even if you leave me.. I'll still always love you!' There was a pause for them to both look towards the wave that was almost looming over them now. Looking back at her, his hand reached for her cheek as he leaned forward and pressed his lips lightly against her own, everything seeming to go dark a moment later as something thrashed against their bodies.

Another yell was heard once darkness completely filled his mind, the scream however stirred him, a voice calling out for help causing Riley's eyes to open. His heart was still racing from the dream.. or nightmare.. or whatever it was.. but he became more awake as he noticed a stumbling movement off towards the entrance of the medical room, Beast hurrying off to help two blurry figures, one seemed to be holding the other. Blinking as he sat up, not realizing the pain in his ribs was gone, his side completely healed since it was a few hours since he had closed his eyes. Climbing off the bed, Riley rubbed his eyes before the male voice called out again, but this time it had called Riley's name. Staring over towards the once blurred figures, who he could see clearly now as Angel, the souled vampire he once had to do a study assignment on in the initiative, and Jennifer, the Rogue Slayer who most of his old team mates didn't even believe existed. Slayers where as much a fantasy to the initiative soldiers as the easter bunny was to the parents of excited children. But a few knew the existance of Slayers and Riley was sure that wasn't a good thing.. imagine what a group of demon hunters who could brainwash people would try to do in order to have a supernaturally powered demon hunter in their ranks?

Moving over towards the badly injured vampire who held an even worse looking Slayer in his arms, Riley took the weight from the weakened Angel and carried Rogue over towards the bed he had previously been sleeping on. It was getting lighter outside, but Riley paid that no attention as he laid the young woman’s body down on the bed, a pained groan coming from her as Beast hovered over her and began checking her vitals. Catherine wouldn’t like to see this… she was already hurting enough, this girl was her friend wasn’t she? And Dawn’s sister.. Riley wondered if he should go call Dawn, she had talked about Jennifer a lot during the six months, watching a member of your family being killed and then having another chance to live with her was a rare gift. Riley pressed his hands over her bloodied stomach as the blood seemed to flow too freely for the Doctors liking.

"What happened?" Riley stared back at Angel who limped over towards the end of her bed, his lip was cut and bruised and his hand was grabbing at something that seemed to be sticking from his ribs. There where scratches all over him, his clothes had little rips and smeared in blood, leaning forward a little, Angel looked up before shutting his eyes tightly and letting his head drop back down. Riley grabbed the chair he had been using before, dropping his shirt to the ground and taking the chair over to the vampire for him to sit down on and attempt to begin his recovery. Riley stared at the metal rod embedded in his ribs, the vampire too weak and drained plus eager to get Rogue to safety to attempt to pull it out yet, Slowly Riley's fingers curled about the pratruding rod and he took a little breath while Angel readied for the pain that was to follow. There was a muffled growl in agony as Riley pulled the rod from the vampire's cold flesh, dropping the bloodied object on one of the medical tables.

"Some assistance please!" There was only so much McCoy could do, with most of the assisstance nurses on leave during the holiday break it made help scarce and he needed more hands to help this new patient. Riley hurried over to Rogue who had opened her eyes a little, her head turned towards Catherine, the thought of why Cat was laying there crossing her mind before she shut her eyes tightly as Riley pressed down again on her deep cuts that run along her stomach. Although the slayer was seeing and understanding all the things happening about her, she looked dazed and distant, unable to focus on anything.

"I'm not sure.. we where trying to get back to my hotel, but there where demons everywhere, we decided to split up and cover more ground. I heard a scream and when I got there she was laying on the ground in agony and I couldn't see anything wrong with her, but she couldn't move." Angel struggled to hide the pain in his voice, Riley stared down at her many cuts and scratches, McCoy placed a small device over her stomach, a blue light beaming down in her bleeding wounds and regenerating her damaged skin at a faster rate.

"The cuts could be the reason.." Riley mumbled sarcastically thinking Angel had over looked the fact that humans can't work very well when they have gashing wounds in certain parts of their body.

"No.. those where after, I was carrying her, we where moving down the ally she collapsed in, I was asking her what happened and she couldn't speak, she groaned but didn't say any words. Then an insectoid demon swooped down on us, the bug had claws everywhere, it wasn't alone, there where other demons. They where all attacking, I couldn't fight them while holding Rogue, the closer I tried to get to my hotel the more demons we ran into, I had to come back here, there was no where else to go." Once Beast had done all he could for Jennifer, he moved off to study her vital signs, Angel quickly limped over towards Jenn, taking her hand in his and leaning over her. Jennifer's dark eyes stared up at him but although she did see him it didn't look as if she was registering his presence, her eyes closing as the pain and medication took hold and she passed out. Riley remained standing between Catherine's bed and Rogue's, wiping his hands with a towel that Beast had passed to him. Riley's mind was still having a hard time understanding the serious concept of blood, but the longer he was away from the daily brainwashing of the initiative he was getting better, some things where taking a lot longer to fade then others though.

Only there was a bad thing about his mind starting to react to blood and gore like any other normal person, Riley was also a sensitive and simple minded person, the memories of things that had happened during his many years of service in the initiative weren’t things he could really handle to see with full understanding of the true brutality. He would be likely if that part of the initiative training never faded, but for now, and hopefully a long time to come, Riley was able to stare upon the bloodied body of the Slayer with only the simple understanding that this girl was really hurt, and that the flow of blood needed to be stopped otherwise she would die. But since he didn’t have a strong connection with her, if she did die, Riley was fully capable of going about the rest of his day rather cheerfully, but of course, with Catherine hurt and sick that wasn’t very likely.

Re: The beginings of a personal nightmare.
Riley's arms were back around her, she could smell him, feel him against her skin ... but it was as if she were only half concious of the things around her. She made an indistinct pained noise in the back of her throat which was supposed to be his name. Her eyes refused to open and look up at him even though she wanted them to, a lock of of golden brown hair falling over her face.

Couldn't he take her back to her room? She really didn't want to be here, in a medical bay. She was sure she'd feel better if she was at home .... her home, their room. It would at least take away the anxiety she was feeling at the moment ... they were going to inject her with things weren't they. Her mind flickered back to her time spent in the initiative, a white room, a metal chair, the way Joan had teased her, the way she'd vicioualy stabbed her with a needle.

"I'm still here Catherine... I'm still here with you." She didn't really hear the words that were beind uttered, they seemed rather jumbled up but she could hear her name and knew it was Riley's voice. Why did it have to hurt so much? She didn't understand what had been different this time when she'd been sick. She coughed and again she could feel the taste of blood in her mouth.

"There's internal damage that needs to be repaired Riley, and speaking of damage, you should be resting here as well, you'll both feel better in the morning, and once she's healed a little I'll give her the first dose of her medication." Her ears managed to pick up the last word .... medication? She didn't want any medication, she didn't want to go back to being dependent upon them, it had been so bad last time. Her body shifted it's position slightly.

"Don't worry Miss Hall, this will just let you go to sleep and ease the pain." It was very hard to work out what he was saying, she felt something press over her nose and mouth. Her eyes forced themselves open and she weakly tried to pull her head away, his hand was behind her head though so she couldn't move away. Her eyes took a short moment to close though she was almost asleep before her eyes managed to shut. She didn't hear Riley's words of comfort, her mind had already been swallowed up by a fog of blackness and without the interventions of the dream catcher she managed to have a sleep untroubled by nightmares.

She slept unaware of the events unfolding around her, not knowing that Jennifer had been brought into the medical bay, not knowing she'd made what she was dreaming come true. Not knowing she'd wake up in a few short hours to a nasty shock. Meanwhile the medical bed continued to mend her damamged throat, making it easier for her sleeping body to breath.

It was late morning by the time she awoke, her throat healed for the time being, she'd have to be careful what she ate over the next few weeks though. Her hands took hold of the blanket, grumpily turning onto her side, tugging the blanket a little closer around her. She squirmed a about for a moment, the bed she was lying upon didn't feel very comfortable, her eyes opened reluctantly then scruntched shut for a longer second. After a moment they opened again looking around her, wondering where she was ... this wasn't her and Riley's dorm.

Her eyes managed to come into focus better, her eyes widening upon the figure of the slayer ... Jennifer? what was Jennifer doing here? She pushed herself up into a sitting position as the dream she'd had last night hit her.

'Jennifer.. Rogue!!' She said concern hitting her face, not really understanding why Rogue was here .... she looked around her again .... in a medical bay. Her eyes fell upon the figure of Riley an a little of the fear in her face faded away. Everything would be alright now he was here, it always would be and always had been.

Re: The beginings of a personal nightmare.
By the time everything seemed to settle, Riley had gotten himself clean of any blood that had wiped on him after holding Jennfer and her wound. Angel had shut his eyes as he sat on the seat pulled right up beside her, his body facing her and his hand resting on hers that lay over her stomach which was now completely healed. Angel's eyes would open breifly everytime there was a shuffle of footsteps before his exhausted body would unwillingly lose the struggle to keep them open and they'd drift back closed until the next disturbance.

The warm chocolate drink that Riley had been offered recently was held in his worried fingers and kept close against his chest which was now covered once again by his white shirt. Riley's body hovered closely about Catherine's bed and he didn't seem able to drift too far before he turned and wondered back to her side. As she shifted about he lifted his eyes that had dropped to stare at the sweet liqued that so often was used to calm his nerves, both back at his farm and in the initiative. However Catherine seemed unwilling to wake and Riley wasn't going to lung towards her if she wanted to go back to sleep. His fingers fidgeted with the mug a while longer as he went over the things Beast had been saying a little earlier to him. Catherine had to eat softer foods, made sure she chewed things properly, wasn't allowed to rush her eating, couldn't have things that where too hot or too cold.. wasn't allowed to yell..

'You make me angry!' Riley flinched a little at her words that echoed in the back of his mind, if he made her angry then would that mean he might make her angry enough to yell at him again and then she'll get sick again?

'Jennifer.. Rogue!!' Looking up in both worry and concern at the fact Catherine had raised her voice, but then dropping down his mug and hurrying over towards her the instant she had spotted him. Angel's eyes had snapped open at the yell of the Slayers and shifted over towards Jennifer's face as her eyes opened a little, but stared up at the roof. The vampire had a silk brown shirt on now, with fresh new plant trousers and hisbelt that wrapped about his waist, Beast didn't see the point in having them wearing their bloodied clothes, although Angel had been rather relucted to change at first. Jennifer had been changed into a slim fitting black shirt and loose fitting black pants, Angel refused to allow Beast to put her in a medical robe.

Riley sat beside Catherine on the bed, it was easy to see he had a need to hold and comfort her, which in turn would comfort him. Riley was still bare feet, but he hadn't noticed the chill of the cold floor, his hands that had been warmed up by the hot coco reached for her, one taking her hands on her lap and the other resting about her waist.

"You're not allowed to raise your voice." The whisper in her ear was followed by his hand moving up from her waist and resting on the shoulder further away from him. But then his gaze shifted over towards the other two in the bed beside them, even though Riley had the strongest urge to pull her into his embrace and smother her in kisses.

"Jenn?" The short dark brown haired vampire leaned over her a little since her eyes where open but not looking at him. It was hard to imagine that Angel was a vampire when you see him like this, his very human appearence and emotions making him unique... or now that Spike had his soul one of just a small few of the undead able to feel such things. The gaze of the Slayer remained staring up at the ceiling, even as Angel tried to get her attention by pulling her hand towards his chin.

"She come in early this morning, she's alright now, we can't figure out what's wrong with her though, she's unresponsive to things..." Riley shifted about a little, Rogue's dark eyes pulling away from the ceiling, her head turning towards Catherine so her eyes could stare at the girl.
Why was everyone staring at her like that.. more importantly, why couldn't she speak? Her forced attempt accomplished nothing but a rather pained groan as she turned her head to look towards Angel. Catherine had saved her once.. and Angel was here.. Riley she didn't have much faith in since in her world he was a cruel and heartless soldier for the initiative, but she knew that he was different here.. Catherine had saved him from that..

"Rogue? What happened? What did this to you?" Angel's cold hands helplessly shifted to her cheek, his fingers moving through her hair and then his hands returning to cupping her hand as he seemed to have finally gotten her attention. Her other hand that still lay beside her on the side facing Catherine shifted a little, her eyes leaving Angel who looked devistated over Rogue's condition. The Slayer's fingers shifted about a little, curled slightly before remaining motionless.

Re: The beginings of a personal nightmare.
The man who was with Rogue looked over at her, Cat had a vague memory of seeing him at some point, she wasn't sure exactly when though. She wasn't really bothered with him though, she was more concerned with the girl who was lying upon the medical bed across from her. What had happened to Jenn? Her stomach churned at the memory of her dream last night ... surley not ... that couldn't be the reason Jenn was here. Had she had a premonition that something was going to happen? She'd never had one before so why should had body start now?

Catherine hardly noticed Riley sitting beside her on the bed, since her attention was all upon Rogue. She became aware of his presence when he slipped an arm around her waist, his other taking hold of her own hands. His lips dropped to rest near her ear as he spoke to her in a comforting voice.

"You're not allowed to raise your voice." Her head swivled around so she could look at him, she'd almost forgotten the burning pain of last night ... it was in the past so it wasn't important anymore. She felt fine now ... but part of that would be because she was lying upon the medical bed which had been helping to mend her throat.

'Why?' She said before moving her head away so she could look back at Rogue her eyes moving over the body of her freind.

"She come in early this morning, she's alright now, we can't figure out what's wrong with her though, she's unresponsive to things..." She remembered the way rogue had been knocked to the ground by her larger assailant, she wondered why Rogue hadn't seen or heard her attacker not knowing it was because Cat had dreampt that she could not.

Cat didn't understand any of this, and she was confused as to why Rogue had been brought back here. She was still so tired as well, feeling as though she wanted to go back to sleep, at the same time inching a little closer to Riley, wanting him to take her away from here. It was quite a good thing for her state of mind that she didn't think anyone had injected her with anything. She could remember a mask and a sickly, sweet sticky odour in her lungs then just a black fog.

Nina: Cat.. he's only a man.
Cat: You don't understand...

Re: The beginings of a personal nightmare.
At her question Riley had waited a moment for her eyes to study the body of her friend before reponding to her question as to why she wasn't meant to yell. His arms held her a little closer against him while he began to talk.

"Because you're not well, you're throat needs time to heal because you've been sick.. and.. and you need to be careful with what you eat." He didn't want to sound as if he was going to start fussing over her.. even though he probably would no matter how hard he tried not to. He just wanted to take care of her.. like she took care of him when he wasn't well.

"You need plenty of rest as well, so we'll spend the day in our room, and you can watch TV, and we can rest together, Dr. McCoy wants you to take a tablet in the morning when you wake and one at night when you sleep." He wasn't sure how she'd feel about all this, but he really did want her to just get better, and if that meant laying around all day for a week or so, then that's what he'll try and get her to do.. and if she wanted him to he'd lay right there beside her for as long as she wanted him to.

Re: The beginings of a personal nightmare.
His arms inched closer around her as he began to speak and for some reason she didn't think she was going to like what he was about to say. His breath was warm against her cheek and she felt a tingle run down the back of her spine. Her face turned so she could look up at him while he spoke.

"Because you're not well, you're throat needs time to heal because you've been sick.. and.. and you need to be careful with what you eat." She didn't feel unwell now, she felt a bit tired, maybe her throat was still a little uncomfortable but it was hard for her to believe that there was anything really wrong with her.

'I feel better now.' She explained, suddenly feeling like she was talking to more of a father figure rather than her boyfriend. He was probably just worried she decided her eyes moving back over to Rogue. She felt like she had to do something but there was nothing she could do, Riley was talking again and she pulled her attention back to him again.

"You need plenty of rest as well, so we'll spend the day in our room, and you can watch TV, and we can rest together, Dr. McCoy wants you to take a tablet in the morning when you wake and one at night when you sleep." Missing lessons sounded good, and spending the day with him in their room sounded even better to the young agility mutant. She was glad he seemed to be coming around to the idea of watching television however the next part of the sentance about taking pills made her body grow tense in his arms. She didn't want to go back on pills again, she was done with all that after everything that had happened to her last time.

'What kind of pills?' She said rather sharply. Her eyes moving over to the figure of the blue doctor who was moving around the room. Her intelegant eyes followed him around while she thought quickly, it wasn't like she'd have to take them Riley wouldn't know the difference as long as she didn't make it obvious. There were a thousand and one places she could hide them and he'd never know, they'd both be happy then, he'd be happy because he thought she was taking them.

Cat: Do you think I should go back?

Re: The beginings of a personal nightmare.
Leaning over and reaching for the small container of little white tablets, purposfully letting his body lean lightly against hers as he longed for her to be alone with him just so he could hold her. Inching his body a little closer to her as he held up the small container for her to see, pausing for a moment before resting his head a little against hers.

"They'll heal you, stop infections from making it worse, after a week we see how you're doing and if the Doctor says you're better you don't need any more. But if they don't help then he's going to try and give you a stronger dose with injections." It hardly seemed fair that this was happening, Angel glanced up at at Riley as the young man seemed to be bluntly showing his affections towards Catherine. Angel dropped his eyes grouchily down at the Slayer who had closed her eyes and drifted off back to sleep.

"There's not much else we can do for her.. but we can come back if you want to check up on her later.." His hand reached up for her cheek as he rested his forehead against her own lightly. A faint little smile seen in his lips though he tried to hide it, the tips of his fingers stroking her cheek lightly as his colourful gaze lifted to meet Catherine's own darker eyes.

"My turn to look after you." His whisper sounded as if this idea pleased him, she always seemed to be taking care of him somehow, and now this was his chance to show her he was just as capable of looking after her when she when she was sick as she has been when he was unwell.

But if they don't help then he's going to try and give you a stronger dose with injections." Perhaps she should take them ... she didn't really like the idea of being injected with stuff but she wasn't too keen on having to take pills again. What if they made her go through withdrawls again, she didn't like that thought. It had been so hard to get off the anti depressants when she was on them and she didn't want to go back there again.

"There's not much else we can do for her.. but we can come back if you want to check up on her later.." Cat nodded slowly her eyes on the slayer then moving back to Riley and finally dropping down to her lap.

"My turn to look after you." Her eyes moved over to him, she didn't really understand things and some confusion must have shown in her face. She didn't feel ill so why was he acting like she still was.

'I don't feel unwell.' She said glancing over at Beast before she looked back at Riley.

'I had a dream.' Her hands twisted in her lap. 'That she was hurt by a demon, he was following her.' She looked as if she were about to say something else then seemed to change her mind. 'Can we go back to our room?' She didn't really want to stay here, especially with the idea that they might inject her with things.

'I don't feel unwell.' Trying to hide the disappointment at the fact she seemed to be shrugging off any offer to help her, even if all he planned on doing was just holding her hand. He knew she was better, but that didn't mean she was completely healthy, it just meant she wasn't collapsing in pain.. He didn't want to see her like that again.

'I had a dream.' Riley stared at her for a moment, she hadn't told him about any of her dreams before, he looked at her curiously for a moment as he waited for her to continue.

'That she was hurt by a demon, he was following her.' Angel looked up at Catherine as she mentioned this, Riley glancing over at him before focusing on Catherine again.

'Can we go back to our room?' Well that was quick, maybe she just didn't feel comfortable speaking in front of Angel and such. Riley got up to his feet and scooped up her tablets into his large hand, waiting for her to get up so they can leave.
