To Ralph Supporters
I am a "obsessive.com" Simpsons fan and as much as
I enjoy Ralph's simplicity and one liners, can anyone give
me a legitimate reason for his being in the final and coming close to winning? His appearances are mostly
cameo and while having great comic value are no more
funny than the cameo appearances of Snake, Captain
McCallister or the Pimply faced Teenager. If you apply the criteria that was used to select characters for the
tournament (at the bottom of the Tourney homepage),
there is no way that Ralph belongs in the final, or even
the final four. This should not be like the NCAA basketball
tourney where underdogs have a chance. Underdogs always have a chance in a game, but please tell me how
Ralph can honestly beat Grandpa- no matter how many
times they play each other?

Ralph Gore and the stolen election.....
Ralph deserved to win for seeing Edna Kravappel's broom closet baby wink at him.
Ralph deserved to win for Choo Choo Choosing to hide tickets to the Krusty Spectacular in the "tunk"
Ralph deserved to win for his life ambition to be a principal... or a catepillar.
Ralph deserved to win for his decisive victory in the diorama contest, in which he bent his wookie.
Ralph deserved to win, because in his dreams, he is a viking.
Ralph deserved to win for his unique artistic stylings on the nose flute.
Pure and simple, Ralph deserved to win.....

I believe the question was a "legitimate" reason, not a few "one liners." However I can see how its hard to argue since there is no legitimate reason why ralph should have made it half as far, let alone the final.

Ralph IS a one liner. So is Burns. So is Apu.
We ain't talking Hamlet here.
The fact of the matter is, Ralph is the best one liner. His contributions to the show have far exceeded those of any of this contests contestants, and also those of most of the show's regulars. In my world, Bart and Ralph would change places.
For christ's sake, the kid aspires to go to Bovine University.
Need I say more?
I was not kidding when I earlier suggested that, with your apparently under-developed sense of humor, perhaps you would make a better Saved By The Bell fan. I have let them know you are coming, and they are waiting at:

You are finally correct on one point. This isn't Hamlet.
It is for the best supporting character of the Simpsons.
Ralph, with the exception of one episode, is a cameo
character. The true heavy weights of Simpsons episodes are Grandpa, Barney, Mr. Burns and Moe.
Cripes, Ned Flanders adds more to the show then Ralph
ever will.
Maybe you can stop insulting others views and try to
see the errors in your own feeble obsession.

Burns is a one liner??? Dude, the Simpsons are on TV every night --I suggest you watch a few shows.
Burns ran for Governor, Burns stole the sun from Springfield, Burns was one of the Flying Hellfish, Burns
assembled the softball team --I can give you more if
you want.
Ralph fell in love with Lisa --and then what? Back to the
bench for Ralph. What's that? Ralph wants to go to Bovine U? How funny.
Ralph,Ralph,Ralph...NOT,NOT,NOT!!!
