While naturally fairly straight it does have a bit of a wave to it when it dries naturally just after a shower and Tobe will often use a brush or curling iron to exploit this potential. Physical Description:
At first glance Tobe appears as ordinary as any other girl her age. She’s on the slim side of things and stands an average 5”5 in height. When with others she laughs and smiles and there are no physical symptoms of her mutation, certainly nothing to suggest that she is not just a mutant but a second-generation one at that. Years of dance training when she was younger has resulted in Tobe walking with a certain amount of grace and in her possession of better posture than most teens her age. Although she tends to walk at a slower, more decisive speed in order to take the time to admit the scenery, Tobe is able to move quickly when the need arises and she practically skips when excited.
Her voice a moderate soprano she has a lovely singing voice, and doesn't hesitate to sing to herself or even to others. She loves to perform and to be on stage. The first time she was on stage, at a dance recital, she felt like she couldn't stop smiling and the feeling returns to her each time she is in the spotlight. When not performing Tobe spends her time playing around on her computer, for while she is no wiz like her mother she enjoys the machine. She wears her hair long, having a certain vanity for it although she is not particularly vain in any other sense, but does pull it back into a neat bun for dance and a looser variation for team missions.
Her eyes seem to glitter when she gets excited and her face lights up. Tobe’s eyes tend towards the brown side of hazel and rarely appear green in any light. Her smile is one that came from a certain amount of dental work but Tobe thanks her mother for the retainer she once had to wear now, as her smile is charming.
The clothes that Tobe tends to wear are not all that out of the ordinary although she does have her own style. In particular she dresses in brighter shades, preferring blues and reds to black and grey. When the weather permits she is content in a tank top, which she layers in colder times with a fuzzy sweater, hoodie, or corduroy jacket. Tobe is most comfortable in a simple pair of flared jeans, typically either light washed or of a dark colour. During the summer though she can be seen in a tank top or, should her mood permitt it, a sundress. She is not one who lives for fashion and never will be. Tobe makes attempts to look nice if she is going somewhere important but she prefers clothes that are comfortable to what is "in".
Powers:
You must tell us her/his powers, and everything that s/he's able to do with them. You cannot just say, s/he is Psychic, and then have your character moving objects, talking into peoples minds, flying, taking over the body movements of others..etc..try and describe everything those powers can do, if you want to have your character start off with only minor control over their powers, fine, but still tell us what their powers will grow into
Also note that there is a list of overused powers at the top of the application section and that we will NOT accept characters with overly strong abilities for new players. Chances are you will be asked to give some more information on particular parts of the powers, possibly alter bits etc. That's normal, don't worry.
Skills:
Dance - Tobe has been taking dance lessons since a young age along with her sister Julia. Although she preferred jazz and musical theatre to ballet she showed natural ability at all three, which were closely connected. Ballroom was something different and the more casual Tobe preferred not to twirl around in a gown for an hour.
Fighting abilities - Like Julia, Tobe has some skill in fighting with certain weapons and Shadowcat taught her the usage of a staff and katana. What really interested Tobe was using Ancient Roman weapondry like the spatha and gladius though. She's fairly decent with a sword although at sixteen she still has a long way to go and much training to be done if she is to improve. Tobe also knows some basic forms of martial arts for Kitty wanted to make sure her daughters were well rounded.
Singing - Tobe took to singing and to musical theatre more than some of the other areas she was introduced to and she took group musical theatre classes for a few years before beginning singing lessons with a private voice coach. She loves to perform and sings mostly broadway, pop and rock pieces although she did also do a few choir type pieces.
Art - Colossus taught his children the basics of art and Tobe had a particular affinity for watercolour painting. She is not an exceptional talent but has a decent amount of ability and technique and she finds painting sometimes relaxes her.
Computer - Tobe lacks Kitty Pryde's ability with the machine but she does like to play around on it and isn't so bad with graphic design.
History:
I'm asking for detail here, not everyone will be keeping their characters EXACTLY the same as Marvel has them (if you apply for a canon character), you're allowed to alter their history slightly, have them change sides, what ever you want, but everything must be here telling us WHY they have done this. Also, you may have to check back with players of other canons characters in case they have made references you thus need to include.
When applying an original character (always a good choice), make sure to try and be as creative as possible. Make sure you put effort into showing why the character has become the way s/he had turned out to be, but note that a dramatic past doesn't always have to make a great character. If you've got a board full of depressed suicide candidates whose parents put them on the streets at their fifth birthday, it's kind of getting dull...
The history part is one of the most significant elements of your bio, so you want to put effort into it. A Poor history may lead to the application being rejected, yet in most cases, we will try to work things out with you, tell you what we think needs improving.
Personality:
Just tell us about their personality, how they act, their moods, maybe certain traits you think are worth mentioning. Note that most people develop their personality as a logical consequence of their past, so make sure everything is making sense. Somebody who has grown up on a farm e.g. will never be indifferent towards animals. They may become animal lovers because they've been around them all their life or hate them just for the same reason, but either way there'll be an impression that has been made. Make sure things stay logical and be as precise as possible. Try to make your character come alive!
Likes: performing, musical theatre/broadway, dancing, Hugh Grant movies (a guilty pleasure), history and myth, reading, painting, being outside in nature, animals, rock music, card games.
Dislikes: like all siblings at times she dislikes hers, spiders (has a deep fear of them), modern art (all she sees are pointless squares, not anything artistic), people who talk during movies, bullies, bad horror flicks, rap music, sewing, math, biology (dissections are just yuck).
