Tuesday March 27th - Psychosis and Neurosis
Continuing on From Seeking Sanctuary (Front Hall), with a small time lapse between events, Tuesday March 29th, 2:30am

Abruptly tearing herself out of her sleep with a fevored scream, her eyes wincing as the sudden rush of light forced her pupils to adjust, the few days of unuse, bringing a small period of time in which Jinlo had to wait for her eyes to adjust. Trying to raise her arms so that she could bring her hands to her eyes to rub them, Jinlo could feel that there was something of a restricting nature, binding her arms to the surface she lay on. Once her eyes seemed to adjust to the bright artificial lighting, she looked down onto her arms, her brows furrowing in confusion as she narrowed her gaze on two belt like leater binds straping her arms in place.

She could feel a sharp shiver of panic and fear run right down her spine, as the sensation that things had became worse from what she could of ever imagined, the last details that Jinlo could recollect in her mind was that of being taken into a building, by two people, one female the other male, despite there being a lingering warning from a distanced voice about the place. What the hell is going on? Jinlo mused to herself as she let her head fall back onto the sponge filled pillow in resignation, there was after all little use trying to wrestle herself free, her arms already had chafe marks from where she had worn her skin against the belts in her troubled sleep.

Staring at the ceiling, Jinlo tried to keep herself occupied, atleast until some one arrived, to reveal thier intentions for her. As for what seemed like a prolonged age, the sound of hard leather soles connecting heavilly with the tiled floor of the room, causing Jinlo to adjust her gaze away from the rather dull collection of ceiling tiles, her eyes scouring from corner to corner looking for the source of the footsteps. Yet her eyes fell upon no one, even though the footsteps had became inconcieviably close, the expression on Jinlo's face had melted from her disorientation to one of utter confusion.

From the corner of her eye, Jinlo could spot what seemed like a person, that had just apeared to have walked through the wall that her bed had ran along side of. The momentary inquisitive look, completely being replaced by one of upmost fear and terror as the man holding a clipboard turned around to face her. There the bitter sinister smirk that seemed for forever haunt her the one look that had seemed to cut right through into Jinlo, forever scarring her mentally. Raj Seamul the man who once was her old employer back in the small dive of a resturant in Hell's kitchen, New York. Was now glaring right into her very eyes. With a fit of panic Jinlo tried to pull her arms free of the restraints, yet the leather straps drew increasibly tighter with every attempt at freeing herself that was being made.

Her entire body felt as if was drained of life, as Raj's cold hand clamped down on Jinlo's jaw, his vice like fingers locking her gaze towards his, as he lowered his head towards her's. Forcing her eyes shut, Jinlo tried to draw her head away, but yet for all her struggle she made no breakthrough, as the feel of another's mouth close around her's send a chilling paralysis of fear throughout her body, with all her might Jinlo clenched her teeth shut, to prevent him from progressing any further.

It seemed that the effort to protect herself from the man's impossed 'kiss' had worked, as her eyes opened to see Raj pull him self away from her face, the look of discust and disapointment ever present on his face, Yet that look of disapointment shortly faded away, as he turned his attention elsewhere on her body, a much more intense chill ran through her body as the man placed his hand onto Jinlo's leg, before slowly running his hand up along her thigh, the look of fear and panic on Jinlo's face intensifed along with her near hysterical screams.

With a wild torrent of cascading motion, Jinlo swung her untouched leg towards Raj, her mind was pulsating as it did when she had first killed him, yet Raj seemed to be unnaffected, blood was tricking from all over his face, yet there was no sight of any pained expression, just the look of manicale lust for her body, the hysteria seemed to skyrocket, as every thing apeared to become worse, the blood flow from Raj's face, the frantic flailing, the screaming, along with the chilling sensation of the man's hand slowly raising along her thigh.

Yet as sudden as it was for when she abruptly came out of her sleep every thing fell into dark silence, the only thing accompanying Jinlo's disorentated mind was that of a sharp throbbing along the left side of her face, coupled with the warm tricking sensation of a thick liquid caressing her skin before forming a pool on the surface that her head lay on, Opening her eyes onceagain, Jinlo could see that was still within the same medical facility, the significant difference between the last time she had awoke was that she was now laying on the floor, her face in a pool of her own blood. Yet despite the somewhat unexpected change of circumstance, there was a noticeable rush of relief filling her body, as there was no sign of the restaints that had bound her to the now askew bed, but more noticably there was no sign of Raj.

Just a comforting solitude.

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
((OOC- Here she comes to save the daaayy~ it's ze Posteh-Pimp on the waay~))

Tessa hadn't been able to sleep too well so after spending a good half an hour in the kitchen with a novel and a hot cup of tea, she decided to make herself useful. This happened to her sometimes, this type of insomnia and restlessness. But it wasn't a bad thing. There was nothing like night terrors or physical discomfort that caused her to be so awake in the odd hours of the night and sometimes the wee hours of the day. No, it was just out of habit from the sleeping schedual she had back when she was working at the different clubs as a DJ more often.

She hadn't been accepting any of the jobs that they called into her cellphone, returning the messages with ones asking them to find another DJ for thoe nights and then having her friend call her up asking her what was going on. Since Tessa couldn't very well tell her friend what really had come up, she had just left it as her being busy that week and didn't go into much detail. Luckily for her, the friend was not too nosey and just let it slide after Tessa agreed to go in for one of the nights of the next week.

As if her thoughts had been heard, Tessa felt her cellphone vibrate at her hip an dlooked down at the caller ID to see that it was the number to one of the clubs. With a small sigh, she just turned the phone off, causing it to still and the pale light to turn off. Then, after closing up her book and cleaning out the cup she had been drinking from, she tucked the book away on top of the fridge from where she had acquired it from the first place and after that, left the kitchen to someplace that seemed to almost always need someone being active in; the Med Lab.

There had been a new patient that had been brought in recently that she hadn't been able to have the chance to meet yet and Tessa had just been thiking about the new arrival when she stepped through the door of the Medical Lab to find that not only was the bed empty but there was someone on the floor. A small gasp came from her as she saw that there was blood on the floor as well and that the person was laying in it. Quickly, Tessa made her way over to the laying figure, crouching down to try to get an idea of the situation visually before acting any furhter. She had learned early on that it ws best to take in the scene before going as far as physically investigating.

"Are you awake?" She asked, hoping for a response. If the person responded then she could get a better idea of the condition of the patient.

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
(OOC: WOOOTAGE I never knew posts had their own pimps :eek , but yet Posting is a vice so it should be expected :p )

Slowly opening her eyes as the sound of light footed steps started to draw close, a wave of anxiaty started to flow through her Veins, as the thought of Raj comming back to pick up from where he left off, filled Jinlo's mind. Gazing over the blood pooled floor on which she currently was laying on, Jinlo watched as a looming shadow drew closer, until the point a blurred outline of a person standing just beside the bed, the obsqured angle in which both the Bed and Jinlo were positioned making the visual perspectives from where she was laying somewhat overly exagerated.

Feeling her self recoil slightly as the looming figure continued to draw close, seemly sidestepping the bed, before crouching down towards her. Her entirebody seemed to fall numb as if a possum like defence mechanism kicked in, giving the impression of vulerability and weakness around Jinlo and her current state, yet for all it's worth, it was likely to have done little but overly exagerate her true state. Turning her gaze towards the figure's face, through half closed eyes Jinlo silently surveyed the person looming over her. As the figure spoke, Jinlo could feel her body tense up, her brow furrowing at the questioning, as well as herself. The somewhat poorly concieved plan to play dead and hope they would pass on seemed to fail at her inability to convincingly 'play dead'.

But this figure was different, the voice and from what little scent she picked up over the scent of her stale blood, carried the fact that this person was not Raj, more to the point not even male. Feeling herself relax slightly, Jinlo started to shift slightly, still being cautious of the new person, crouched down beside her. Till eventually she had shifted away by a meter or so, untill her back was against the wall behind her, with something that sounded like a struggled groan, Jinlo purshed herself upright, to the point that she was sitting against the wall, her body facing that of Tessa's.

Keeping her gaze away from the figure before her, Jinlo looked down to her wrists, the markings from the leather binding straps seemed to have gone entirely, not a single sign of irritation or abbrasion was evident on her skin, causing an air of confusion to fill her mind. Gingerly Jinlo raised a hand to the dull throbbing over her right temple, her fingers tracing over the swollen mass of skin, that was raw to the touch, causing Jinlo to wince slightly as her fingers pressed against the gash she had sustained on her way down from the hospital style bed. Drawing her fingers down to her eyesight, Jinlo studied the fingers that were now stained with dark red patches of blood that had been picked up from the wound.

Slowly Jinlo turned her attention away from the brief fixation of her blood, staining her fingers to the person infront of her, sever things fluttered into her mind, the more typical ones being, Where am i? Why am i here? and Who are you? touching upon her mind only to be entertained with a second's contemplation before being completely disregarded, the only question that seemed to burn in her mind was where the one man that continued to torment her, even after his death, currently was. "Wh.....Where is he..... Is he gone ?" Jinlo spoke, her voice dry and somewhat paniced, as she held Tessa in a shakey gaze, her eyes edging slightly to the side in a vain effort to detect any sign of her continual tormentor.

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
Tessa was hesitant to move any closer as the patient moved away from her, pressing her back against the closest wall that was to them. As the patient pulled herself up into a sit in what was obviously a painful effort, Tessa frowned in concern and took a step forward only to remember that some people tended to get panicked if they didn't have enough space. So, instead of coming any closer, she stilled and waited as she willed herself to do so despite her desire to help ease the pain or at least help the young woman back into the bed.

As the young woman seemed to be trying to get her bearings and examined herself and her surroundings, Tessa gave her space and time. "Wh.....Where is he..... Is he gone ?" Those panicked and shaky words sent a little jolt through her spine and made the hair on the back of her neck raise up some. It only took those words to make a memory surface in her mind that she had tried not to think about. The posture that the patient was in, the look in her eyes and the way she spoke... It reminded Tessa of a friend she once had. A friend who was a victim of abuse.

It took alot for Tessa to keep calm and to keep from showing her discomfort of the situation. After a moment, she took a seat on the floor to make herself as little of a threatening figure as she could. She sat so her legs were folded to one side and placed her hands on her lap. "You don't have to worry anymore. There isn't anyone in this whole place that will hurt you. Actually, this is probably one of the safest places you can ever be." She stated with a small comforting smile.

"My name is Tessa O'Meara... Do you mind if I help you back into the bed and take a look at that for you? It might be more comfortabe there than on this cold floor." She said, keeping her voice low but not too low for the young woman not to be able to hear.

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
Poising her gaze away from Tessa, Jinlo held a air of caution around her, things were moving a mile a minute to her, coupled with the fact that many things just did not make much sense to her. How she had managed to make the jump from being led into what seemed to an infirmary all the way to her waking up on the floor in a pool of her own blood. The more prominant element that made as much sense to her as a double helping of quantum physics topped with dose of flight dynamics, was the fact of how a man who she killed before her very own eyes, seemed to have been in the very room she was now nerviously gazing around, and be able to physically touch her.

Casting Tessa a wary eye as she spoke about being in one of the safest places that she would ever be in, the comment seemed to somewhat flawed, how could this be so? Afterall Jinlo had the conviction that she had just encountered her late employer, as well as the fact that she had just woken up in a pool of her own blood, the room did not seem as safe as Tessa was leading her to believe. The contorted expression of doubt and confusion soon swiftly melted into one of suspicion, moments after Tessa introduced herself, shortly followed by her offering to help Jinlo back to her bed.

Turning her eyes away from Tessa, before looking back down to her wrists, although the marks were not present, Jinlo could still remember the fact that her hands were bound to the bed, by firm leather straps, as well as the aching pain embeded deep within her mind. As her mind refilled it'self with the images of her hands bound to the bed, constricted and left effectively defenceless, Jinlo started to shake her head, in a fit of panic whilst drawing herself into a huddled up ball, with her arms wrapped around her legs. "No... No... No..." Jinlo spoke her voice shaking in fear along with the rest of her body.

Yet despite her view of Tessa's reaction being obsructed by her limbs which she had now burried her head deeper into, she could somewhat sense an air of confusion to her sudden break down at the simple question of being helped back to bed. "He'll only come and tighten the straps to make sure i don't fall out of bed again" Jinlo spoke, her voice muffled by the fact that she was talking into her legs, "Don't want to go back to bed" Jinlo spoke after a moment's silence, in a tone similar to that of a child sulking.

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
"No... No... No..." Okay, so the offer to help her into the bed wasn't met with the best of reactions... She could still work with it though. Tessa just told herself that she would have to take things a few notches slower. "He'll only come and tighten the straps to make sure i don't fall out of bed again... Don't want to go back to bed" The young woman told her.

He... Tessa was more than sure by the woman's tone of voice that she wasn't talking about Dr. McCoy. He was one of the best people that Tessa knew and she doubted that he would ever do anything to harm anyone. A cold shudder went through her as she thought of the other option that came up... Of the patient speaking of an abuser of hers. This would definately be no easy task but she was willing to try to tackle it...

"Alright, you don't have to get into the bed... But at least let me take a look at those? I'm sure that you'd feel better once that blood was off of you... If you were to decide that the bed's alright with you I'll make sure that no one comes in to strap you anywhere while I'm around." She told her, trying to get the patient to agree while at the same time making sure not to push the decision on her.

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
Lifting her head up from behind her knee's Jinlo looked towards Tessa, narrowing her eyes as she studied the young woman sitting opposite to her. After a few moments Jinlo's gaze shifted towards the askew bed, before falling back onto Tessa. After a tense silence, as Jinlo's gaze darted back and forth, between the bed and Tessa, Jinlo gingerly nodded her head, as she let her arms fall to the side, and her legs stretch back out so that they were flat against the blood stained floor. Slowly Jinlo cautiously rose to her feet, before standing wobbly before Tessa, the medical gown she was wearing showling clearly the blood stain reaching down from her neckline and verging to the side of her chest.

Still within a state of recoiling, Jinlo's body language shifted so that one arm was holding onto the other, crossed across her chest. Still a bit wobbly on her feet with the change of posture Jinlo stumbled slightly in a light headed stupour, vering towards the bed that she had fallen out of, the look of terror in her facial expression matched the paniced shriek as she veared over towards the bed. Throwing her arms out infront of her, Jinlo caught onto the bed in an effort to avoid slamming her body onto the floor once again. Her total contact with the bed lasted only a matter of seconds before Jinlo recoiled away using the dividing curtains as her means of stability and support.

After a short bout of rapid panic ridden breathing, Jinlo seemed to have calmed herself down, her gaze however seemed locked on the bed, her brow furrowing as she scrutenised the bed, there were no visble signs of straps on the bed, her gaze turning towards Tessa. "He's taken the straps away" Jinlo spoke slightly confused, before gazing down onto her arms, "They were digging into me", Jinlo spoke as she lowered her untouched wrist towards Tessa. "He's hidden them so no one would belive me" Jinlo spoke her tone carrying the impression that she was pleading for Tessa to believe her, "He used to do that at the resturant, he'd hide the takings so he could dock our wages"

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
The woman gave the slightest of nods but still seemed unsure and nervous. Due to that, Tessa remained where she was even though she wanted to help her up and aid her to the bed. In this situation, it was to where the patient had to do it on her own or whatever fragile hint of trust that had been built up could be shattered with no hope of recovery. Still, she was there in case the figure in the hospitol gown were to fall and watching closely to make sure that the woman would be alright.

She couldn't help but to see the blood that was on different parts of the patient's body as the still un-named woman made her way to the bed unsteadily. The panicked shriek still caught her off guard though, causing Tessa's eyes to widen and for her to jump slightly. She then moved quickly to catch the woman before she were to hit the floor but the woman managed to catch herself it seemed as the bed was grabbed onto. That changed quickly as the patient swapped from holding the bed to holding onto the curtain around it instead. A somewhat panicked gaze was directed towards Tessa and Tessa felt a bit confused.

"He's taken the straps away... They were digging into me." Tessa directed her eyes to the wrists that were shown to her but saw no signs of anything having been digging into the skin or even been rubbing there recently. "He's hidden them so no one would belive me... He used to do that at the resturant, he'd hide the takings so he could dock our wages" The patient was clearly unstable and desperate for Tessa to believe her.

"There isn't anyone here that would do that... But if it makes you feel better, I can stay here with you and watch over you after we get you cleaned up until Dr. Mc Coy gets here." Tessa spoke gently but was careful to not sound patronizing in case this woman had the chance of becoming violent.

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
OOC: Am still here, kinda got tied down with College stuff. ruddy end of semester rush

Slowly she nodded to Tessa's words as she offered to stay behind until a Mc Coy shown up. Her eyes lingering over the woman before her, occassionally flittering towards the bed to double check if the straps had not suddenly reapeared, whilst her attention was diverted. Slowly Jinlo unwrapped the deviding curtain from around her, removing one of the few barriers around her that she could use to protect herself. "Please" Jinlo spoke simply her eyes looking towards Tessa with an air of expectancy in them. It was now as if Tessa had given the promise of candy to a small child in the middle of a shop.

"Please will you stay?" Jinlo restated, this time adding some clarity to her words, Jinlo spoke as she stepped out from the curtains, gingerly stepping towards towards Tessa, her arm being held out, in the expression that she wanted to be led away from where they currently were, the small name band, dangling loosely from her wrist, seemingly still very slack, even on the lowest possible size. A clear sign that despite being overly paranoid and unstable, she was undeniably malnourished, as to why it would explain how her body was frail enough to bleed so much after a short distance fall between the bed and the floor.

Cautiously Jinlo followed Tessa towards a small bench like bed in the corner of the room and hesitantly sat down, still quite unsure of her surroundings, but if the woman next to her said she would be safe, then surely she should be, and it was not as if she seemed like the deceptive type for a start. Sheepishly Jinlo turned her focus away from Tessa who now seemed pre-occupied with something else, her gaze panning around the room, to which despite her previous suspicions of the room there were countless other cubicles dotted around the place, each of them in a simlar set up to how the one Jinlo was locted in, was.

Re: Tuesday March 29th - Psychosis and Neurosis
Ok here comes Hank....let me know if ive got anything out of line!
..............................

No! Not again! Was there not one night he could actually spend at Zia’s side? And this particular interruption didn’t make sense. Apart from the girl they had admitted that afternoon there was no one in med lab who should even have vaguely needed his attention. And she had been prescribed a series of sedatives that should have kept her calm till at least the following morning.

In an ideal world that was! Though Hank had learned a long time ago that , as far as mutants were concerned there was no such thing. Even so! There should have been someone on duty. Some actual voice calling him oh so apologetically on his com badge, to announce a problem that was after all taking place in his domain! That wasn’t the case though. This was a machine, one he had set up to stand guard that was calling him and that in itself was a bad sign.

“I’m sorry, my love” he murmured as he moved, wakening his mate as she had slept wrapped in his arms. Should he be glad or saddened that her response now was an unhappy sigh and a loving if disappointed grooming of his arm as he disengaged it from their embrace, rather than the fury that would have been there just days ago. Is it good thing that she is more accepting* he wondered “or is my life just so taken up by my patients that even a force of nature like Zia has been forced to capitulate?* In any case it was apparently how he functioned, even if he hadn’t truly been aware of it up until now. After all, what did it matter if your nights were dictated by other peoples needs if you had no life to come back too? That had been the case for more years than Hank cared to remember. But now with Zia’s coming all that had changed.

It was a blessing he hadn’t hoped for. And in this particular case a problem he had to solve before he even set foot in med lab. Nick had told him of this young woman’s fears, preferring to share the personal details he had gleaned with Hank rather than with Talia. Or perhaps simply knowing that the young telepath was sufficiently capable of working them out for herself. In either case Hank had appreciated the briefing, a briefing he was sure Talia would have found hard to make, even if he knew she would have risen to the occasion faced with Jinlo’s distress. Even so, armed as he was with the information Nick and Len had provided, he hadn’t necessarily found a way around the underlying problem.

Jinlo was scared of men and from what he had heard with good cause. And blue and furry as he might be Hank was nothing less that male. A fact which at this exact point in time was more than apparent! Anxiously Hank toggled the on screen surveillance cameras in med lab, noting with infinite relief Tessa’s arrival on the scene and then with a sigh headed for the ionic shower Forge had designed for him. It was true that he also had a more traditional form of shower, one that actually involved water, installed in the apartment, but at this precise moment he lacked the time necessary for a blow dry. And one thing he had learned over the years was that while it was bad, and in this particular case potentially disastrous, to turn up at a patient’s bedside smelling of sex, it was almost as disastrous to turn up stinking of wet cat.

Not that anything he did would exactly win Jinlo over to his side. She had been hurt in the worst of ways. And to make matters worse the powers they should have been teaching her to come to terms with had flared up only to kill. That the retaliation had been justified had nothing to do with it. There was trauma here, and that would have been the case even if she hadn’t been able to defend herself. Then she would have had to survive as a victim Now though she had to survive as a killer. And that, unjust as it may have been, may just have been harder. Had her hand fallen upon a knife in those dire moments then logic might just have stepped in and saved her. Though the very fact of taking a life was always hard to live with! As it was though, it had been far worse for Jinlo, as if her mere desire for death had been enough to kill. And that took some living with.

Still there was hope even in the midst of such darkness. For it seemed that despite everything this lost child had managed to work out who and what she was. And to come to the one place that could help her. Xavier’s Institute! This was why it existed. This was why both gates and doors had been opened to this most troubled of potential students. Because when it seemed that there was no place to go there was still one place you could turn to. And the people there, no matter how difficult it seemed, would find some way to help.

Hank was already wracking his brains as he made his way to med lab. Would it be easier on his particular patient to see some fanged predator arrive rather than a man. Or would his appearance only reinforce the opinion she already had of his sex? He was far from being sure of which way to go and even less certain of being able to pick up the pieces if he made the wrong decision. He did have a life line though. Slim as it might be. And that was surely better than nothing. The telephone was dwarfed in his hand as precise claws tapped out the number. “Tessa “ he said earnestly. Could I ask ypu to pass your phone over to Jinlo. I think we may have to talk before I arrive on the scene. .

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
As Jinlo sat having her wounds tended to by Tessa, she could feel her gaze and attention draw away from watching Tessa clean away the blood with a damp cotton sponge, her face wincing slighly as the cotton sponge brushed against the open cuts, easing the two sides of torn skin appart. As her attention drifted away, Jinlo cast her mind back over the recent events that have somewhat changed her life dramatically from the somewhat simple element of struggling to survive in Hell's Kitchen, working her fingers to the bone, recieving next to nothing in pay for her endless work, before returning home through the violent slum streets in the dead of night, all before going to bed and repeating the process the very next morning.

It often crossed her mind how people could live with jobs that spaned from 9 in the morning to 5 in the evening, whilst still being able to afford a much better life than her whilst she worked from dawn till dusk, and still had little money to her name, and living in complete squallar. It was often said that 'slummers' had to endure the most perverse hardships in life and still was able to draw upon contemptment from they day to day ritual. A sentiment that Jinlo saw as complete bull, her entire life following the death of her mother had been nothing but an endless misery, and that such hopes of something better comming along was nothing more than just a pathetic waste of time, as it was seen to be impossible.

The fact that her employer had made a move to rape her, confirmed that fact that there was nothing good that could be drawn from life, just endless suffering right up untill the fortune of death. Every thing within the strange compound that she had been taken into seemed to be in harmony with that of her beliefs and outlook on life. The one person who was first to offer a helping hand as she lay on the floor, shivering in a fit of panic, had clearly long since gone, Len, that was her name, it just seemed that despite all len's promises of help, she had simply pawned Jinlo off onto the next person who was willing to fake a smile just to comfort her.

Even though Len may have visited whilst Jinlo was in her unconcious state, it just seemed that she was giving her a wide berth, now that her problems had been handed over to someone else. It was partially due to this conclusion, that Jinlo distanced herself from the person who had presented herself to help Jinlo as she lay screaming in a pool of her own blood, the simple fear of being abandoned yet again, forcing her frail mind to not even contemplate the option of wanting to open herself out as she had done to Len, just so that she would not have to bare the hurt of yet again being cast into the shadows.

It was as simple a thing of a phone ring that drew Jinlo's mind out of her musings, gradually Jinlo turned her gaze and focus towards Tessa, who had put asside her treating of Jinlo's wounds to answer the phone, nervously Jinlo watched on as Tessa seemed to converse with a mysterious voice, that she could barely hear, the speaker of the handset being obstructed by Tessa's ear that encompassed the earpiece of the phone. It was however as much of a shock to her as Tessa turned to offer her the handset, curiously Jinlo looked at the offered handset, studying it momentarily before studying Len herself.

Gingerly Jinlo taken the phone from Tessa's offering hand into her own, slowly she brought the reciever to the side of her face, her eyes scanning worriedly around the room for any indication of anyone else near by.

"Hello?"

As usual Tessa acted swiftly and efficiently, asking no questions but simply doing as he had requested and passing the phone over to his distraught patient. Hello. The young voice was shaky certainly but not hysterical. At least not for now! And that in itself was more than he had hoped for. Hank harboured no illusions as to Jinlo’s mental stability. She had been through hell and her experiences would take a lot of getting over. Though he was sure that here at the Institute they could help her do just that. If they approached things in the right way that was. Slowly. Gently. Giving her the time to feel as comfortable as she could with the situation she found herself in and with the people around her before making any move. Even a move to help.

That was what he was trying to do at the moment. Make a first contact without putting the undoubtedly intimidating reality of his physical presence into the equation. When you looked the way he did first impressions were never to be taken for granted and this one promised to be especially problematic. Even preparing the territory for it was going to be as easy as walking on eggs or, more appropriately, given the state of the girls emotions navigating a mine field.

It was nothing less than a miracle that Nick had walked away unscathed from their encounter. Hank had been sure that his damaged mental shields would have crumbled before such an outpouring of pain leaving the telepath wrecked and traumatised in its wake. Instead he had found the resources not just to survive the onslaught but to actively help the distressed young woman, accompanying her to med lab, waiting to give his report to the doctor. It was a major step forward for the troubled agent and one that Hank was more than glad to see him make. And in its way it gave him hope that, just as he was mending, so too would Jinlo. Once she realised she wasn’t expected to do it alone.

Isolation was, the doctor well knew, one of the hardest burdens anyone could have to bear. That feeling that you were all alone in the world, facing more problems than any one person should have to or indeed could deal with. And Jinlo, Hank now knew, was in just such a position. Hank had asked Scott to run a preliminary background check on her while she had slept, mainly to see what kind of trouble she might have been in concerning the death of the man who had tried to assault her. The trail wasn’t hard to follow. Not when the name of the restaurant she had worked for was written in nice friendly letters across her uniform.

“The Hungry Devil” Not exactly a name to conjure with despite its veiled allusion to the Hell’s Kitchens resident crime fighter! Nor, from what Matt had told Hank, was it a place hed particularly like to be associated with. It was a blessing to have an expert on the dark side of New York’s most violent quarter actually on the premises, not that the circumstances which had lead to Daredevil’s presence in med lab were in themselves anything to rejoice about.

Still the insight he had provided into Jinlo’s lifestyle had been invaluable, the blind mans eyes darkening even further as he spoke of the crime and squalor he tried so hard to alleviate and yet which despite all his efforts nightly produced tragedies like this one. “From what I heard this Raj Seamul character was a creep” he had told Hank grimly “ He just wasn’t a big enough creep for Daredevil to drop down on him. At least not until now that is. In any case I doubt he’ll be missed by anyone other than a few lone sharks and the bookies he helped keep in business. Not that that will be much consolation to the girl though Not at first anyway.”

Hank had to agree. But that too was something the Institute had experience of. Unfortunately, Jinlo was neither the first or the last mutant who would unwittingly kill with their mutant abilities. Teaching them how to control those powers in order not to do it again was one of the first aims Xavier had laid out all those years ago when he had first brought students to his mansion. As was helping them regain the confidence they would need to successfully go on with their lives. Now though Charles was in a coma and the mantle of teaching had been passed down to those he had gathered together under the name of the X men. Even if sometimes Hank didn’t feel entirely up to the the task.

Now wasn’t the time for doubts though, or at least not for letting them show. The blue feline took a silent steadying breath and spoke into the tiny cell phone. “Miss Halon” His voice was cultured and well educated but in no way condescending. “ Hello. This is Hank McCoy speaking. I’m the resident Doctor here at Xavier’s School for the gifted. I heard that you had fallen and I know that Tessa is looking after you but….. still…

His concern was reflected in his tone as was an underlying compassion and the promise of a patient acceptance of any decision she might hand down. “ I would like, with your permission of course to come in and make sure you are all right. Perhaps even talk a little. If you are feeling up to it that is.”

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
She could feel her body tense up as the person on the other end of the phone spoke to her, for Tessa sitting beside her, Jinlo's body could be clearly seen tensing, the look spreading on her face was that of shear dread and fear. The voice of what clearly was a man wispering through the ear peice of the reciever, causing Jinlo to become extremely nervous all of a sudden, slowly Jinlo looked towards Tessa, her eyes deeply conveying the fear that was running through her. To make matters worse the words the man on the other end of the line spoke of him wishing to speak to her in person.

The name of the man however sounded familiar, Hank McCoy, Jinlo was sure that the name had crept up at some point recently, weither it were originating from Tessa who was sitting beside her or the girl called Len, who seemed to have abandoned her at the first moment that came. It soon passed through her recollection that it was both individuals that had mentioned the name. Weither or not that both of the women she had conversed with within this School for the gifted, was a bad thing or even a good thing, Jinlo naturally assumed the worst.

Feeling her hold on the handset loosen as she looked down to the reciever, that was now being suspended parrallel to her knees, Jinlo forcibly tightened her grip on the device whilst her gaze drifted around the room, it seemed to her that there were very few options, available. After all she was trapped within the room, the solitary door was obviously to be the means of this Doctor's entrance, yet it was her sole way of leaving this room. To which as long as she'd want to barricade herself out of reach of any body else, she would eventually have to leave the room once hunger sets in.

Looking uptowards the mirrored panel that sat mounted on the wall infront of her, Jinlo slowly brought the reciever back to the side of her head. "okay" Jinlo answered simply, before biting down on her lips in thought. "....But... you have to promise that Tessa will stay here, .. and.. and that you don't let Raj come in with you" Jinlo added, her voice although shaking to the very core of her lungs, still tried to bare an element of strength behind her words. Even though it could never be readily noticed from the way in which she bore herself, Jinlo did not want to be seen as being completely helpless, especially infront of a male.

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
OOK .. since zira is absent Ive been given the green light to god mod Tessa as far as possible .All posts will be supervised just in case!.

Brief description of med lab..should have done this sooner sorry! Basiclly one large ward, four individual rooms and Hank's office/ sleeping area... work area for staff.. place to hang up their coats etc... think that's about it, oh and an operating theatre! Hopefully you won¡¦t be visiting that:D .

The equipment in all of med lab looks really advanced.. well it is alien but that¡¦s not written in big letters all over it¡

Jinlo would have been in a normal bed though. Just to let you know that there are other doors around.. they just don¡'t lead out of med lab :p
.........................

Hank gave her the time she needed to think things over and was rewarded for his patience by a shaky acceptance of his offer. Even if there were conditions! But then he had expected nothing less. And at least Jinlo wasn't asking for anything he couldn¡¦t deliver. ... you have to promise that Tessa will stay here, the traumatised girl told him.

That was far from being problematic. Hank had never had any intention of asking Tessa to leave. After all it was only her calming presence that had made this meeting even remotely possible. It would have been too much to ask for Jinlo to stay alone with any man at this point, so Hank was only to grateful to have such a precious and able ally already in place. No, in fact he listened to Jinlo¡'s first request with relief.. and to her second with sadness. .. and.. and that you don't let Raj come in with you"

Hank closed his yellow eyes briefly, hearing the extent of the damage that had been done to the girls psyche clearly reflected in her words. Sometimes the dead did not lie still. Or sometimes the mind simply refused to admit that certain things, hateful things, had happened at all.

Hank didn¡¦t know what the case was here, whether Jinlo had truly forgotten that she had killed her tormentor or whether he now haunted her spirit, more dangerous in death than he had ever been in life. Or perhaps, if they were very lucky, she was simply bemused, as she had not been that afternoon when she had told her story to Len. Certainly her awakening had been rude enough to cause some confusion. But somehow Hank¡¦s gut told him that this wasn¡'t the case.

There was a degree of terror about her that said this was no mere nightmare lingering on past it alloted time. Though to give Jinlo her due she was trying to deal with whatever form of attack it was as best she could.

And that was something to latch onto. The vague hope that there would indeed be light at the end of this tunnel. She was as lost and scared as anyone he had ever seen. But through it all she held herself together. She fought back just as she had done during the attack. And even if now she was for the most part, jousting with the windmills of her own imagination, it was still far better than giving up.

There was strength, there at her core. All they had to do was give her the chance to heal sufficiently for it to reemerge. Though that would be far from easy. Still a first step had been taken and Hank was quick to capitalise on it.

I will come in alone I promise
Hank told Jinlo earnestly. ¡§Nor would I ask Tessa to leave. But there is one more thing I must tell you before I enter. Or rather show you, if you are willing?¡

Hank's voice was gentle as he broached this particularly thorny subject, knowing it had to be raised before he made his appearance.. ¡I suppose you know that you are in Xavier¡¦s school for the gifted? And that most of us here are a little different from normal people?¡¨ It wasn¡'t something he particularly wanted to put emphasis on, those powers that she had to been feeling at best ambivalent towards. But under the circumstances he had no other choice. Or rather the only other choice available to him was one he wasn¡'t prepared to take.

It would be easy to action his holo graphic imager and present himself to her as a regular human being. But that would be mean lying to her from the very beginning. Gaining whatever trust he could under false circumstances. And that was a slippery slope, especially as far as Jinlo was concerned.

From what he had heard she had worked for a man she had trusted and who had in the most cruel of circumstances revealed himself to be a monster. Something she had taken to be true had suddenly proven to be false and it had shaken her in the worst of ways. He wasn¡'t going to make her live through that again. Even if it made this first meeting all the more problematic.

*She already knows that appearances can be deceiving.* Hank reminded himself. *I can only hope that knowledge will somehow work in my favour. Or that at least she will afford me the benefit of the doubt and give me the time I need to show her that sometimes a monster may reveal himself to be a man.*

It was with this in mind that he continued steadily; ¡§Well, some of us even look a little different too Or¡K.. in my particular case a lot different. There is a door with my name on it, Jinlo. It leads to my office. Please, go in, its not locked.¡¨ It didn¡¦t have to be. Anything of importance was behind a security system he had designed and which few had access to.

But what Jinlo needed to see wasn¡¦t important in the normal sense of the word. It had value to him alone. And perhaps now more so than ever since it would be his means of reaching out to this lost girl, giving her a glimpse not just of his appearance but also of a small slice of his life. Of the fact that he was liked and accepted! Despite the fur and fangs! And if its first purpose was to prepare her for the shock of his arrival , on another level he hoped that it would also show her that her power didn¡¦t necessarily stand between her and a happy future. For if someone as marked by their mutation as he was could find friends then surely she could as well.

On my desk you will find a photo showing me with some close friends Don¡¦t worry.. he told her with a hint of wry humour in his voice. you¡'ll know which one is me. So.. if you would.. please go in and take a look..

Ok it was ten years out of date, but on the whole it still held good. Connor had taken it when they were on a picnic, snapping away with his newly acquired camera, catching them all wonderfully of guard. Scott and Jean with a young Sean at their side, suddenly realising what was going on and pointing an accusing finger at his friend! Logan and Michelle¡K. ahh god Michelle.. looking, despite their separation, for that one moment like the lovers they so truly were, while the girls were presumably off camera, pestering their brother and vying for his affection.

And there he was! Hank in all his glory! Hawaiian shirt screaming its indignation to whatever fashion god ruled the heavens and a book of poetry in one hand as he read T.S. Eliot¡¦s cat poems to Storm and Rogue. And, despite all his humour, even then a beast. *No* , he told himself. *The Beast!* A name that hadn¡¦t been imposed upon him! But perhaps only because he had embraced it beforehand! And at no small cost! Still it made a difference. Even if Jinlo had no inkling of his past or his present!

And yet in a way it did. The way he had lived his life had made that photograph possible. Just as it had made possible anything Jinlo may or may not choose to look up concerning him on the computer which was also on his desk. Or for that matter any question she might ask Tessa or anyone else in the Institute. Hank stood by what he had done. He let his actions show what was in his heart. And he trusted that Jinlo would , if not now, then one day see them for what they were worth.

For now though she was both troubled and hurt, and he was both male and a freak. So he resigned himself to her judgement and simply said ¡§If it proves too much I¡¦ll understand. It¡¦s not an easy thing to accept and you won¡¦t have been the first to back away. But.. Know that I will always be here if you change your mind or need help in the future .And.. I do think that I could be of help here and now¡K If you would let me.

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
Looking about her, following the well spoken voice's directions, Jinlo looked around the ward for the office that the voice had spoke of, untill her gaze fell upon the door, which just as promised bore the plaque that conveyed the name 'Dr. H McCoy'. Returning her attention back to hand set, Jinlo drew her gaze away from the door to the office, so that she could listen for any further instructions, other than simply locating the office.

Once she listened to the further directions, Jinlo nodded her head slightly in a form of acknowledgement and understanding. Her gaze lingering over the door that she had assumed the man would soon enter through, if she gave the final go ahead, a prospect that she was still uncertain of, given the new set of terms that had been presented, to look at a photo to see if she would allow the man to enter, as much as she was nervous about the situation, she was equally confused.

Slowly Jinlo risen to her feet, before walking towards the already identified office, her steps were somewhat slow and cautious, not purely due to her being overly cautious, but still in mild pain, following her falling off the bed, coupled with the light headed sensation brought on through her blood loss.

As she reached the door, Jinlo eased the handle until the door slowly crept open, through the small crevise that had presented itself, a fleeting glance was cast around the room to ensure herself that there was no one, hiding in the office waiting to jump her in her current weakened state. Once satisfied that the room was vacant, Jinlo slowly walked over towards the desk that was indicated to her over the phone.

Amoungst the various items that littered the desk, most of which apeared to be stationry and various other simple office trinkets along with the stray book, Jinlo picked up what looked like a frame, the picture still yet to present it'self as she held onto the frame, her gaze looking over the backing of the frame whilst her fingers pressed upon the cool glass that kept the picture in place.

Slowly turning the frame around, her gaze was met with an image of a group of assorted people, gathered on what she assumed to be a beach, something that she was still yet to witness for her self, only having heard of such places, her only understanding of what they looked like, was through the simplistic descriptions of such places. As her eyes scanned over the scene of the group huddled together in smaller fragments, each fragment doing something independant of the other, with a rolling blue mass of water in the horizon.

Resting her gaze upon the sight of the member of the group that seemed as out of place within the group as he would within a theme park character's visage. Well perhaps not she thought to her self, she had heard that many themeparks deployed various characters that looked almost as out of place as the blue creature did, with the purpose of entertaining the customers whilst they waited in the ques.

Feeling somewhat bewildered at the sight of the creature, Jinlo looked about the photograph for any other men, the voice had spoken about her knowing which one would be him, but as much as it seemed to scream out the fact to her, she was just hesitant to accept the fact that the blue creature was the person on the other side of the phone.

Looking up from the photograph, Jinlo looked around the room, unsure if she could see any further pictures that would help her to indendify the fact if the blue creature was the one that had spoken to her on the phone. As much as it annoyed her to not find any sight of further photographic evidence, within the dull light being shed into the room from the ward, it was a slight downsight in her intent to come to terms with the fact that McCoy was the blue creature in the picture.

Reluctantly Jinlo sat down on the chair that sat behind the desk, as she lay the picture facing upwards on the table's surface. Feeling somewhat dwarfed as she reached over to the desk lamp to switch on the light to try and get a better idea of who she was to be soon facing.

As the light from the lamp eventually doused the desk in a wash of light, Jinlo's gaze drew away from the picture, as she studied the keyboard to the computer sitting beside her, narrowing her eyes in suspicion, Jinlo cautiously reached out her hand to lay it over the keys. The tips of her fingers running over various indents that have been chipped into the keys, by some form of sharp pointed instrument. Turning her gaze away from the keyboard Jinlo studied her new surroundings, every thing was somewhat larger than what it should be, although Jinlo knew that she herself was relatively petite in nature, the furnishings within the office seem to make her feel as if she had physically shrunk, if only a little.

As much as it concerned her to accept, it was inescapable to avoid the fact that the blue creature was noticibly larger in stature than those in the picture around him. As much as she was confused and nervous, she was not as intimidated as she thought she would of been. Ginglerly Jinlo slid off the chair, picking up the picture frame as she eased herself away from the desk, before gradually making her way back into the ward, her gaze shifting between the picture and what was infront of her.

Gently setting herself back down upon the padded bench she was sitting upon, Jinlo placed the frame onto her lap, before picking up the hand set and once again brought it to the side of her face. After a long pause, Jinlo looked up from the photograph, as she contemplated what she was going to do or say next. She was nervous about meeting this person face to face, as much as she would with those of his gender, but she did not seem as threatened by the prospect that he was significantly different than her.

Forcing herself to believe that this person was one of those themepark characters she had head of, seemed to help with the words she spoke into the handset. "It's Okay..."

Re: Psychosis and Neurosis <Med Staff Please>
Nice post.. but.... heres where i get annoying:o ... If i hadnt already mentioned this in other posts.. which i dont by any means expect you to have read..... then it wouldnt be a problem... well.. ok Maybe it would have been, but all the same personaly i thought your post was very imaginative. and logical. but....

Hank is big.. but in the same way as a rugby forward is big.. imposing... broad.. not gigantic. And yes.. his hands and feet were always unnaturally large... but (blame me for this one... his keyboard isnt.. he uses his claws to type Hey.. it seemed like a good idea at the time) Sooo .. hmmm.... almost al the keys on the keyboard would be blank.. due to heavy usage.. Sigh.. wish we had msn to discuss this. cos im really trying to help out here.... or .. my aim name is HankMcCo.....and ive already added yours to my buddie list..

Thinks hard... ok... Hank hates me but... there may well be blue fur.... ok.. he sheds.. Abd the chair is reinferced to take his weight

On the desk..you got it right.. normal everyday clutter.. also a book of plato in greek, no.... wait.. he tells me its Cyrano de Bergerac... in french.. who am i to argue with a char.. In the wastepaper bin there are telltale twinkie wrappers....And Jinlo can always acces the internet if she wants too...

If she does. Hank is known as a genius in all that is genetics, and a defender of the mutant cause, but never a fanatic

. He has also devised and marketed many drugs that have helped humanity in general and never at a price that meant that the third world couldnt aford them.. All in all he recognised by those who look beyond mutant predjudice as a good guy. But never a soft option...

Does this help?

LOL... yes Hank would certainly be squashed in economy.... its all those Twinkie bars! Thanks for the edit and your forebearance! And as for his reputation..boff.. she'll grow to love him for himself! :D
......................................

It was strange! Asking permission to enter what he had on more than one occasion described as his territory, and recently with more and more of a cat’s possessiveness behind the words. But then again he had no one but himself to blame. For after all, if he hadn’t tampered with his already mutant DNA all those years ago in all likelihood he would have resembled the athletic middle aged man his holoimager made him out to be instead of the outlandish creature he now was. How many times had he regretted that youthful decision? How many nights had he lain awake cursing the heavens and his own impulsiveness? More than he liked to remember. And yet…….

One night, as he had held Zia in his arms, she had told him that her long hellish time of enforced sleep had been made worthwhile by the mere fact of finding him. And while he was still quietly dazed by the happiness that had so unexpectedly come into his life he had to say that he felt the same. It was his self provoked feline nature that drawn her to him , this remarkable creature who had suddenly opened up possibilities he had thought closed to him forever. Possibilities like love and passion and children! Everything a man could desire and more. And all laid at his feet because of the same youthful error that had transformed him into the creature Jinlo must now be contemplating in his office.

How would she look on him, this troubled girl from Hells Kitchen? Would his beastlike appearance prove in this very special case a help or a hindrance? It could go either way, that much he knew. Either she would equate him with the essence of all that she feared, the base instincts that had driven her employer to attack her or else he would be so different that he might just escape the stigma that all men, at least for the moment, bore in her eyes.

The wait for the inevitable verdict seemed endless but eventually there was the sound of the cell phone being picked up again and then Jinlo’s voice telling him what he had hoped to hear. That he was free to go in! That the first step towards helping her overcome this trauma had been successfully negotiated!

“Thank you for your acceptance” he told her sincerely. “I’ll be coming in in a second so don’t be alarmed” And with that he activated the med lab door giving Jinlo an instant to adjust before he stepped through, stopping just inside so that they could both get a good look at each other before they went any further. Jinlo was pale from loss of blood and there was pain as well as fear in her eyes as she looked at him. Everything that made Hank a good doctor cried out for him to go to her and help her then and there. Everything that made him a great doctor told him to hold back.

“Hello Jinlo… Tessa.” He acknowledged his old friends daughter with a smile that said she had done well, before turning his yellow gaze back to his latest patient. “Now my dear I know this must be a frightening time for you so we’ll take this at your pace.” Hank sat himself down on the edge of one of the beds still keeping a reasonable distance between himself and the girl in order not to spook her before continuing.

Its obvious that some medical help wouldn’t go amiss but if you perhaps have questions you would like to ask beforehand then that’s perfectly fine too, I’d be more than happy to answer them, if I can. Just take your time. Neither Tessa nor myself are in any rush so don’t worry on that account. For the moment all that matters is you and how you are feeling.” the doctor assured her earnestly. “And that we do everything we can to make sure you feel better.”

Re: Tuesday March 29th - Psychosis and Neurosis
Questions? Sure there were plenty of questions, so much so it would be better to address the issue as time, how much time did this blue creature have?. Albeit the initial shock from watching McCoy enter the room had subsided. The image of her holding onto her breath, her body completely rigid as her fingers dug into the padding of the surface she was currently sitting on. The fact that she had almost jumped right out of her skin, was more attributed to Tessa laying a reasuring hold on her hand, seemingly in an effort to soothe the fear, and reasure Jinlo of her decision.

As fortunate as it was, the fear of this man did not last long, she could feel a destinct air of warmth and compassion ring out of the man's gentle words. Nothing like the deceptive words or tones that Raj and so many others within Hell's Kitchen had used when she was addressed. No this one was different, it were as if, bare say it. Honest. The words coupled with Tessa's reasuring hold upon her hand, allowed for a somewhat sedate quality to sink in, as Jinlo settled down.

Even though it would be somewhat noticable in her apearance, the fear that was running through her mind, had subsided marginally. Afterall there was alot more than just the apearance of the blue haired doctor, to contend with. There was the concern of the Police out to find her and bring her to stand for Raj's murder, the sudden arrival of this strange ability, that for all she knew brings about death. More importantly however was the worry over a deadman's revenge from the grave taking place in her tormented dreams.

It must of been a few minutes after the new arrival to the room posed his offering to her, when Jinlo shook her head slightly, as she brought her mind into the present. Unaware for the moment that she had been sat staring blankly into space, lost amidst her own thoughts. Slightly narrowing her eyes she mused over what she was going to ask. The urge for bombarding this man with a series of questions in one go was more than a struggle to contain. It did however seem unreasonable of her to do so. Especially when this man was going to such lengths for a murdering slummie. Where like so many he could easily of thrown her back onto the streets, with nothing left to do but return what shambles of a life she had.

Slowly she took a deep breath as she finalised the questions that she thought were the most vital to ask. "I guess asking where I am is of little use" Jinlo spoke, as she vented the excess air from her lungs. The entire wording of her comment, seemed to convey that under her fragile porcelain appearance was a side to her that was struggling to emerge from the rubble of her shattered grasp of reality. "Why am I here-" Jinlo spoke before pausing slightly she could partially remember why she was here. Brief images of her kicking out and fleeing from a postman, before scrambling accross a driveway towards a front door. Most of which was her own doing. Slowly Jinlo shook her head as she lowered her gaze. "No. What am I?" Jinlo corrected herself.

Re: Tuesday March 29th - Psychosis and Neurosis
There had still been some fear reflected in Jinlo’s eyes as he had entered despite all his preparation but it was nowhere near as bad as it could have been and, as he spoke reassuringly to her, he could see it fade back to a manageable level. Back to where she could concentrate more on the words themselves than on the one uttering them.

It was obvious that she did have questions she would like to ask. But then who wouldn’t have in her situation? Still formulating them, dragging them out of the confusion in her mind to lay them coherently before the doctor wasn’t easy.

Hank sat still as she struggled with her thoughts, waiting for the moment when the blank look that had settled upon her face was replaced by a more thoughtful one and she finally broke her silence. "I guess asking where I am is of little use" she said with a sigh. Interesting! The fact that she didn’t already know the answer to that question. Did that mean that she had in fact come to the institute purely by accident or rather that her memories of her arrival there had somehow been affected by her psychological trauma?

Hank favoured the latter explanation. After all, it did seem the more likely one. Chance did occasionally drop lost souls into their lap but on the whole most mutants found their own way to Xavier’s, drawn by the whispered rumours that surrounded it. Tales of refuge and sanctuary for those like them whom the world regarded as different.

If that was the case for Jinlo though she was still having a hard time remembering it. "Why am I here-" she started, before shaking her head briefly as if trying to clear her thoughts. Maybe she succeeded, Hank couldn’t tell. All he knew is that before he could even try to answer she asked the one question that all mutants asked at one time or another. The one question that needed a truthful answer even if it hurt! "No. What am I?"

“Well actually my dear I think that all of your questions are linked” the blue mutant said gently “but perhaps we should deal with the most important one first “ Hank had done this many, many times in the past. Announced to a frightened youngster that like it or not their lives were never going to be the same again. It was something he supposed he was good at, though god knows he never found it easy. Even if that seldom showed.
