(URGENT) Next Chapter Meeting on Nov. 7th-PLEASE READ
Gentlemen,
Last night's meeting was probably one of the best meetings we've had in a while. Everyone got to talk, but most importantly, everyone wants to change the way things are going with the chapter. I would like to thank everyone that showed up last night and contributed to a very emotional and needed exchange between the EC Board and the rest of the chapter.
For those of you that weren't there, we talked about a lot of issues that concern a lot of the bothers. The main issues that seem to be the most important are the following:
-Lack of communication between all the brothers at all levels of the organization
-Lack of participation by the active members & pledges of the fraternity in fraternity related activities
-Lack of togetherness or brotherhood within the chapter since chartering
These were some very good observations made by everyone that was there last night. The first problem, communication, was discussed last night, but since so many people were missing from the chapter meeting, we will address this problem again with your help and participation at the next meeting.
With that said, it is time to come up with solutions to these problems. So for the next meeting, each brother should come with solutions to each of these problems. Ask yourself these questions in order to get yourself thinking about these issues:
-What can I do to help with the communications problem?
-What do you think are the obstacles that prevent effective communication throughout the entire organization?
-How can we encourage participation in chapter related events?
-How do we get people to come to the chapter meeting and participate in this very important fraternity activity?
-What kinds of events should we plan out to encourage and develop the feeling of brotherhood and togetherness?
-What events can we plan out that don't involve alcohol, but build a solid foundation of brotherhood and togetherness?
I think you get the point. These are important issues, but we need your help to solve them and make this fraternity better than it is right now. In order to do so, I would like to ask that each of you make arrangements within your schedules to be at meeting this Monday (Nov. 7th). Encourage other brothers to come and talk with other brothers about these issues. Remember, come with solutions so we can overcome these issues before the end of the semester.
