Untouchable - New Single!
Does anyone know anything about the new single Jonathan Ross played last Saturday on his Radio 2 show? I can't find any mention of it on Quixotic.
If you haven't heard it, you can listen to the show again on the BBC website if you're quick. It's about 2 hours 40 minutes into the show. Co-written with certain Christopher Difford too, which has to be good news!
Steve,
It was on Radio 4's "Loose Ends" too.
It's listed on Quixotic and GT.com now -along with details of the new album and up and coming radio performances. I think it was co-written with Chris Braide?
Did anyone see the clip of "Take Me I'm Yours" on Jonathon Ross tonight? (Friday). Jools was the first guest and he recounted a tale of when Squeeze appeared on Top of The Pops, performing Cool For Cats, Mike Reid was the DJ. Glenn and Jools thought it'd be a laugh to stick their fingers up each other's noses while jumping up and down behind Mike as he introduced one of the acts. Apparently, "someone upstairs" was less then impressed and hinted they might not get on the telly again
Re: Untouchable - New Single!
Thanks, Steve - I did manage to catch it. I'll be picking up my copy when Glenn stops in Cardiff in May, although, to be honest, it's not the strongest sounding single I've ever heard and is likely to be a grower (I felt the same about This Is Where You Ain't and I love that now). I still get so excited when he releases singles though!
Re: Untouchable - New Single!
I've found it on Quixotic now and ordered it. Jonathan Ross definately said Chris Difford, but it wouldn't be the first time he's been wrong!
I saw Jools on the TV show too. Jonathan Ross seems to be the number one celebrity Squeeze fan at the moment.
While I'm on, does anyone else still get e-mails from Sukie/Zaena or whoever giving advance notice of releases, tour dates and the like? I haven't had one for ages.
Re: Untouchable - New Single!
I think Sukie sends them all these days. I thought I hadn't been getting messages from Quix and then remembered they were all going to one of my legion of webmail addressess that I don't check very often It may be worth registering with them again if you've changed your addy lately (ie in the last year. The updates aren't posted very often).
On the subject of Glenn's new single I think it's wonderful. I really like the sound and the way it's been produced. Much stronger and punchier than TIGT (which I love as well of course. I'm not slavishly uncritical of Glenn's music but he's my favourite artist for a good reason).
