What is your favorite season ending?
Which season of Lexx has your favorite ending???
For me it is a hard choice between the ending of S2, when Xev steps on mantrid in her high heeled boots, and Yo-way-yo the ending of series 4 and the show. In a sense, the end of S2 is as close to a happy ending that we have seen (well, considering that one of the universes gets destroyed!). We feel that the crew may yet find fufillment on some planet in the dark zone.
I really cant decide either. it is a hard choise. both were diffrent and gave people diffrent reactions. arggg...my brain cant handle this type of question!!!!!!!!!

My favorite season ending was season two with them heading to an unknown universe.....the dark zone. Not knowing what they may be in for, but still filled with hope that they'd find a home.
I can't say that season 4 was my favorite ending because...of course.....I didn't want Lexx to end.
Re: What is your favorite season ending?
My favorite season over all (including the ending) is S3. I thought Yo-Way-Yo was terribly depressing, even though it brought closure for the Kai character and I knew it was going to be the end of the show. Maybe that's why it was depressing, just knowing there would be no more lexx.

What pulled at my heart strings in Yo Way Yo was when they all started singing together the Brunnen-G fight song...and the look Kai had on his face as he looked death in the eye..was it relief? Joy or fear? Priceless...maybe deep down the actor was quite relieved knowing it was the end of the show and it came across on the screen...*sniffle*
Favourite Season Ending
I don't know which season ending it was, but I like the one where they were going from the light universe into the dark one....ours...gee, how apropo...
...I really dug the way those little arms made Mantrid's face as he was taunting the crew...

That was the end of season two when they went into the dark zone to try and find 4,000 years later they came upon the little blue planet.
That was pretty kewl when all the 790 heads went after all the drone arms, some pretty good CGI.
Re: Favourite Season Ending
Sorry to bump up an old thread...
Having just watched Yo Way Yo for the first time, I must agree with most of you and say S2.
Yo Way Yo was depressing, as I find with most series, the last episode almost always has a very big and depressing impact, because we do get so close to the characters.
And of course, with Kai it's special. *grin* And yes, maybe I did cry, just a tinsie tiny little bit, you know, Lexx-explosion-sized version of tiny... teehee.
And yes.

Seasons endings
I cried the first time when I saw Yo Way Yo, the end of Lexx 3 years ago on american sci fi channel. It was sad to see something so unique come to its final end. I've seen it a couple of times now since then, for the longest time I couldn't watch it again, because it was sad to see the end of the story, but now having seen it again, it just reminds me of what I loved so much about the series, the bizarre, twisted, humorous, dark, touching and outrageousness and inconsistencies that was Lexx.

I somehow haven't had the heart to watch it yet. I wonder if I will ever bring myself to do it. Hmmmmh...
Re: Seasons endings
About S4 though, I think they could have expanded upon the Lexx going sentile. Like, it would have given substance to some of those last episodes like Viva Lexx Vagas. I thought it a bit strange to just spring old age on the dear little space ship in the very last episode with no prior warning.
And oh, that scene in Yo Way Yo with Xev and Kai..... *sigh* *sighs again*
It is definately an unique series!
And Bluestar -- how can you resist?!!

Oh bluestar, you have to watch it again. Some moments of it are very poignant.
I agree about the scene with Xev and Kai, and MM's eyes were glistening while filming that episode, like he was said it was the end too, even though it's what he wanted, he didn't want to play the role of kai anymore.

I know, I'll have to watch it some day. I'm just kind of afraid. I already suffered three major losses this year, and somehow that's just what it would be, another loss. I know it's stupid, but that's how I'm feeling at this stage.
I remember Brian said in an interview that when he, Michael and Xenia were shooting the last scene of Lexx, Michael couldn't get his lines out. He needed several takes and some time in between to compose himself, because everytime he tried, his feelings would take over. He was really sad, although it actually was what he had wished for.

Yeah, I remember. It's kind of odd, ya know, it was just a television series, but it was so much more too. And the end was very emotional to watch. I'm sure the realization for them that it was the end was sad as things that often end are. Like mourning a loss. It's hard when things end.
It would be lovely to have a mini series or something, but personally, I just don't see it happening, many of the costumes are gone, sold off... and AA has never really had an interest in Lexx.

I'm not holding my breath for that either. I don't think the costumes would be a problem if they really wanted to do a sequel, but AA is a problem. And the Beans also seem to have lost interest, at least for the time being.

Re: Seasons endings
Costumes are expensive to make though. Kai's rainbow suit was several thousand dollars. Everything would have to be re-made, and it would take some serious investors with an interest, no one is going to make more of the show if they don't feel there's an interest for it. It is too bad that sci fi didn't dig into their pockets and reach an agreement with AA to do a mini series a few years back. I really doubt now that MM would even consider coming back in the role as Kai, and with everyone spread out now and having other careers, would they be able to or want to get together to do it?
season endings
Youīre all so right.....
If I ever had the opportunity (speaking : the money) to buy the costumes at ebay....I would gladly return them to the production if they ever decide to continue (of course I would want them back after I finished.....)
I personally like the ending of season 4 - but I LOVE the ending of season 2...season 2 left a lot more hope in our hearts....
season 4 well, yo way yo was the end....but an end I can live with...even it is still hard to watch it...I canīt stop the tears from falling when I see the goodbye between Xev and Kai...itīs the most touching moment....and a tear of joy always came when I see how happy Kai was when he was finally able to die a senseful death...he saved the remaining universe from a new big evil....thatīs what I really really want to thank the Beans for....it gave everything a sense.
The good rarely got a chance to survive in Lexx, there never was a chance for happy endings....but this was done so great....Kai never deserved a senseless death....it was a real good ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If they ever bring Lexx back as mini-series or whatever-....it would only work with all the actors together...if this things would be settled...all of them willingly to return, AA gave the permission (sells the rights or so) and they only need some money, I happily would arrange a donation party among all the Lexxfans worldwide....really!!!!!!
(Of course, every donator should have the opportunity to come to the set and talk to the actors... )
Oh yes, that would be great.
A continuation of lexx only would make sense with Stan, Xev, 790 AND Kai. Without our favorite dead man it wouldnīt be Lexxish enough. And for that it would be better to let it end how it had ended.

Re: season endings
You're right about Season 2, Aenea. It did leave so much open. What would happen to them next? Would they find a home, or more adventures? The end of the Universe episode was spectacular. A great enemy defeated, a new life ahead of them, one that was a mystery. They had each other to see it through and they all did to the end, and when it was over, they stayed together to face whatever would come next.
Season 4 ending was sad, poignant, hopeful. It was a good ending, I just wish it had been a longer ending, rather than the usual hour, two hours would have been better.
Re: season endings
I'm stuck between S3 and S4. Season 3 because I liked the part where the Lexx destroys Fire and Water. Season 4, cause it starts off sad when Kai says goodbye to Xev and Stan and when Kai dies. It did have an opening where Stan and Xev finds a home on the Little Lexx. As for S4, I did cry when Kai died.
