What will you do to your Open Road to be comfy?
We have not got ours yet, expected about May 8, 2003.
But to you that already have yours, what have you done?, what must be done?, what should Pilgrim have done?, what do you absolutely have to do?, and what would you like to do?
Re: What will you do to your Open Road to be comfy?
Because of our narrow, very steep at the bottom driveway, we can't bring ours home and 'play' with it!! We will either keep it at the dealers (it's a beautiful campground too!) or keep it at my parents.
I'm not crazy about the wallpaper border, so I bought new ones. Truthfully, I wasn't really happy about the outdoor-ish leaf design at first (I am more of a pink and blue person!) but I like it now.
That's all I have planned so far!

I actually like the interior of the trailer. Sometimes I think about replacing the light taupe carpet, but it's brand new, so that won't be happening anytime soon!! We try to be real careful not to track anything in. I wish the unit had wood flooring - looks good and easy to maintain!!! Also, we're looking into doing something with the wire shelving in the bedroom: you have to turn your clothes sidewides to fit into the space and the openings are tight.
Overall, I was impressed with the interior - it's what really sold me on the unit!!!

I am sure we must have a generator, shopping right now, trying to confirm if one Honda EU3000i is big enough, because of our 15000btu A/C. Quite a bit of near by mountain camping will be in places without power.
Wish the TT's came with 16" rims & LT tires.
Need a mosquito net for our awning.
Safety rail / gate for our girls in bunk house.
Contemplating a built in air compressor.
Plan to install 3-4 foglights under TT, pointed straight down, to be courteous and safe when arriving late at camp sites.
Plan to intall a T & quick disconnect on the LP gas line to let us have a Camp Chef or similar for outdoor cooking.
Wish to have an organized "rear sport locker", we (the Open Road campers) will be watched.

Larry ours has Congoleum that looks like tile in the main walk areas, and the sculpted carpet in the other areas. Is yours the same?
Bjorn those are great ideas! I may copy the one for the quick connect, but hope I don't need the mosquito netting!
I just realized you both have mammouth RV's, mine is the baby of the bunch!
Safety
TPMS,,, no its not what three women may have!!
Tire Pressure Monitoring System, this has & is being implemented as mandatory equipment in most new vehicles built sometime this fall. Had something to do with that little Firestone/ Explorer problem a while back.
Anyway I think we should all have it in both our tow rigs & or TT/5ers. I have only found one supplier in North America but by chance sourced them out of Malaysia. Will persue this further and plan to have it installed as we pick up our new rig in May.
We are tired of this so we are going to the big city, Calgary.
Checking out the latest in gear and stuff at a RV dealer first, then on to Costco & Wal-mart.
I think we will get some Rubbermaid storage bins so we can do a bit of planning.
We are Not going to winterize our TT when it arrives in May.
Mary, I think you expand your PR campaign to attract a few more Open Roaders.
generators
Plan to buy one, Honda EU3000i, have you got one?? I wonder if these are the right size, since we have the big AC units??
Bought many Rubbermaid bins over the weekend to start getting things organized, including the Camp Chef Tahoe grill from Costco.
You deed an operators licence to cook on this thing (45000 btu over three burners)
