Re: What's your favorite wolf movie?
White Fang the movie (produced by Walt Disney) tells us about the story of a wolf pup who was captured by a Red Indian tribe. In that tribe, animals, especially wolves, are used in helping them do work and agriculture. However, it was stumbling upon an evil greedy white man who took away White Fang from the tribe and used it as a fighting dog. Fortunately, another white man (who is the star of the movie) managed to take away the wolf from the abusive white master. The love and relationship between the new master and the wolf grew, until at one point when the former abusive white man wanted to take revenge on its new master. This movie was based on the original novel writeen in 1935, which won the Pulitzer Prize Award and made several impacts such as imposing stricter rules on game hunting and thus iberalising the sanctity of the wolf population. Since then, the novel served as a turning point in history to change the mindsets of people thinking about wolves. Because of its complex and thoughtful nature, I make White Fang as the choice of film.
The sequel, White Fang 2, also created by Disney Movie Prod., does not deserve any good credit since a) it deviates from the original plots and b) Disney is more interested in making revenue. Forgive me for my sarcasm, but the losses generated from the sequel outweighed the revenue coming in. Despite the corny slogan "A Thrilling Family Experience" and its high level of action, the movie itself is lowered to a very shallow and mediocre film. Because of the poor background and concept behind White Fang 2, I decided that I should not vote for it as a good wolf film.
