Work Weekend Write-up and pics- Aug. 29 - Sept. 1, 2003
This weekend was a little different than usual.

We were asked to help clean up the Arrowhead Campground trail. Scott Fields and his family adpoted the paved path that encompasses the Arrowhead Campground and he requested our help with the initial cleanup.

We got a pretty decent start about 9:30 saturday morning and Scott was on his tractor pushing the sides of the trail out just a little. Rob (lastname) and myself were using the hedge trimmer/ grubber to get rid of some of the branches and trees that were hanging in or near the trail. Jeremy and Austin were using the chipper to get rid of most of the branches Rob and I took care of. Mark used the push blower to clear the leaves/ chipped material. Darrell wasn't feeling good so he kept watch on all of our gear back at the campsite. Good thing he did because we didn't have any attacks from the Arrowhead Squirrels. Darrels wife Karen, Jeremy's daughter Chelsea, and Robs son Trenton helped catch the branches we missed and help keep Darrell feeling good.
We knocked off a little early because Jeremy and Rob and their kids had to leave Sunday so we wanted to get a little riding time in. That we did. We went out and rode Sawmill and had to cut our trip a little short due to a torrential downpour. We got back to camp and zipped our tents up and salvaged what we could that was semi-dry still and headed up to the bathouse to meet under the shelter.
Sunday was more hard working. Darrell was feeling better and Mike was here to work hard with us. We switched up the roles of who was doing what and tried to avoid the spurratic rain, but we still got finished. All but Scott chickened out for the heaviest rain. We were found sitting under a certain someone's awning while Scott was still out running the tractor. Once the rain nearly stopped we were back to work. Everyone tapered off and left by the end of the day Sunday and Mark and I were the only ones left by Sunday night. We were too beat to go out riding Sunday night so we were actually "in bed" by about 11:30. Thats real early for this group!
Monday we met up with Ben and his wife who were staying on the other side of the campground. Ben had an awesome rig that was a K5/ S-10 Hybrid. Awesome truck Ben! We rode for a few hours and eventually got back to camp and packed up.
I think we got a whole lot done. That trail doesn't look like much on a map, but when your working with that heavy equipment to clear it out it sure feels longer. I hope people enjoy the work we did to make the Arrowhead Campground trail more accessible. Thanks to everyone who came and worked so hard!

Even though Darrell didn't feel well Saturday morning, he and I had a great time helping out and riding:b
It was really cool to meet everyone that was there! We are looking forward to the next time we can help out.

Cricket, Please avoid typing in all CAPS. It is considered YELLING! Thank You.
