XMen 2 (X2)
Wow.

I mean Wow.

If you havent seen this movie yet go. Go now. Go quickly.

I've seen it twice on opening day.

As the first X film was the introduction point and theme setting film. This second one takes the storyline deeper into the mutant/human war. With a great cast of actors and outstanding special effects this movie takes the heart of what is the X-Men and puts it on the big screen without all the excess baggage that ruined the comics for me.

Go see it!

I disagree totally. Even if you didnt know alot about the comics you can get a lot from it as is.

I think they added a lot of bonuses for those that know a lot about comics.

As a comic book made movie it is definitly a 10/10.

As an movie all it's own you have to classify it to compair it to others. So what was it? Sci Fi/Fantasy, Drama, Action/Adventure? All of the above.

I know X2 was great and honestly that's good enough for me.

If you didnt know about the comics I feel envy you. Cause X3 will blow your mind. Especally with Pheonix.

Re: XMen 2 (X2)
Hey, the only thing i know about XMen is a mix of whichever of Agent's ramblings stick after a day of hangin out, with a few episodes of the XMen cartoon series thrown in...so the only knowledge i went with was
a)most of the characters' names
b)a VERY vague history for a few (ie. the lovey dovey thing, Rogue's freak boyfriend mishaps, Wolverine's f*ck-the-world-ishness...oh! and something about Phoenix being an evil JG?:rolleyes )

However, i LOVED the movie & i don't feel i missed out cuz i didn't keep up on the comic books. Unlike a few movies i've seen (which i won't name cuz i place them so high up on my FAVORITE movies of ALL TIME list that i wouldn't dare be caught dead saying anything bad about them), which i think would make no sense unless u saw the first part, X2 alone not only offered depth into each character, but resparked a newfound awe for the each of their abilities. Not too shabby, considering the directors had but few hours to convey so much info and at the same time not be repetative to the first part.(you know...that "yeah, yeah, get on with it" flashback we all hate) Most importantly, though, it left me with no unanswered questions. i dunno, maybe it's just me, but i just didn't get that "d'oh" feeling after watching it. It was a perfectly wrapped chalupa, if u ask me...warm meat, no soggy lettuce, fresh tomatoes & all. I give it a 12/10 :thumbsup
