Yay for me!!
In four days *Counts on paw*, Snow Wolf will be graduating. :D

*Sparkles around the forum*

I'm starting to feel old already...but I've made it through high school. And it's starting to get nostalgic already! *Sniffle*

Re: Yay for me!!
Thank you! *Beams* Today was my last day of school...all the Senior traditions have begun, and lots of us are fighting the urge to get tearry-eyed. My Spanish teacher was crying when she hugged us all goodbye!

It's a lot of fun, and I'm going to miss highschool. :) I'll scan in a pic of me in my cap & gown later. *Heehee*
Did Graduation seem as surreal to you as it does to me?

Aww@ teary eyedness. *sniffs*

It did seem that way for me. It was like a dream really, I couldn't believe the day was happening at yet there it was. Even remembering the traditional music makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :)

Ohh can't wait to see photos. What color is your cap and gown? Ours were just red and I never got my sash to show that i was in the National Honors Society. lol.

Surreal-ness...
*Nods* I've thought to myself many times "Wake up! Wake up so you can experience graduation instead of wander right through it!" *lol*. Tomorrow's also our All-Night party, and that is going to be one spectacular gathering. You wouldn't believe how much PTA spends for one night...

Our gowns are alternating; black for guys, white for girls. Which means I have to find something white to wear underneath. >_< Red is a nice color...did you get to keep your caps? Aww, why didn't you get your National Honors Society sash?

It's funny how some will only have the tassel and school medallion, while others will have the Cum Laude tassel, two or three cords, Honors Society sash, and other such things. They'll be all decorated. ;)

I like Pomp and Circumstance, too.... the school bands come together to perform it. *Sniffs* I'm going to miss the band...

Re: Surreal-ness...
Cool! We used to do alternating colors like that, but someone decided that everyone should just wear red. lol.

Our School's National Honor's Society Branch (the whole school for that case) was ghetto. They waited too late to order the sashes, and the company couldn't deliever them on time. I made Cum Laude, but we didn't get anything special for it (cheap school). :P

All Night Party? That sounds awesome! Our PTA never, oh wait we didn't have one. lol. Well have fun, you desvere it, you've earned it.

Every time I think about my graduation it seems like a dream, until I look at my Diploma (which thankful has a NHS Seal and Cum Laude recogintion). ^__^

Re: Surreal-ness...
I guess it's easier to order the gowns if they're all red! *lol*

Aww, that's stupid of your NHS...you should get recognition for what you've done. At least it's marked on the diploma, I don't think all schools do that for their students. :)

Aw, nothing special for (Magna/Suma) Cum Laude? At my school, if you make any sort of Cum Laude above 3.0, you get to wear a gold tassel. If the GPA is under 3.0, you get our school colors, orange and black. They just keep giving us tassels, too...one at the beginning of the year if you ordered an extra, one at honors night and one today. Stop, no more!

I'm really excited for the All-Night party...it's almost right after graduation, 8pm-4am the next day. Every year there is a different theme...this year it's "Story Time" (lots of nostalgia book/movie sub-themes - suggesting one last night of our childhood and innocence) and today at our Senior Breakfast we watched parents dance around in character costumes while singing about the party to the tune of "American Pie". O_o
I hope I win a prize. ^_^ Our school is something else.... did you get any special "Senior events" such as a breakfast or another get together? With those honors you should have gotten something to reward you besides a diploma...

*lol!* You don't have a PTA? Why is that? Some schools do, some don't. *Shrug*

*Yips, running around with her cap on*

Re: Surreal-ness...
My GPA was 3.75 when I graduated, and I didn't get a thing to wear on my gown to show it off. lol. You got Senior breakfast and all that? All I can say is that my school was cheap. I guess with 3000 students, something had to be cut... lol. :P

But your school sounds awesome, I can see why you're going to miss it. Great campus, great friends, ect. :) So what day are you graduating on?

Re: Surreal-ness...
I graduated two days after your post, Silver. :) It was a weird experience...I also felt obligated to scare the band by grinning at them as I walked past.

The All-Night party was lots of fun, too... so many activities, inflatable things (everything but YITs!! Should've had YITs), free food... and I did win one prize, a hairdryer. x.x Now just when I'll ever use a hairdryer is something else, but it could have been worse...my friend John won a free health club membership for women!!

3.75 is excellent, Silver! You actually worked hard...and that's Magna Cum Laude, not just Cum Laude.

Thanks, Kimbo! It's okay, I thank you for your well-wishes. ^_^ Now summer's here and I will start to be bored! What do you two do to occupy yourselves all summer?

Re: Surreal-ness...
Sounds like you had a great time Snow! Like I said before great memories, great fun! *toots a flute* Yay!

Now you're finally on Summer break... Lets see... Well I usually end up wasting my days. :p I spend 'em trying to draw (Unlike Kimbo who CAN draw. lol), online, playing video games, writing and of course updating my sites.

I'm sure you'll find something awesome to do with your time Snow. ;)

As for the 3.75 it's only considered to be Cum Laude... For a ghetto school their standards were kinda high (in some respects). lol.

Re: Surreal-ness...
Congrats on your graduation, Snow Wolf! :) I'm sorry I didn't come over here to say that sooner. It sounds like you had a really cute theme for your All-Night Party. ^_^ (But did you have storm troopers and Darth Vader and Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi at yours? We did at ours.... ^_~)

But as for "one last night of childhood and innocence...." Um, you haven't been to college yet. Trust me, a lot of childhood is still there. ;) (Actually, moreso than at high school I think. *lol*)

Ah, yes, and those tassels for Summa/Magna/Cum Laude...you know, I think the trouble is that most people at our high school get grades in those ranks, so people who DON'T have the gold tassel look like they're being DIShonored, rather than the other way around.

Did you graduate at a hockey rink? I would much rather have graduated at a hockey rink than a football field. ^_~ (Then again, if I thought of it not as a sports field but as a pretty outside day, I liked it better than an indoor one, but...a hockey rink! Only thing cooler than that is if they ice the floor and you get to skate up to get your diploma.)

Congrats again, Snow Wolf! *hugs* Welcome to the ranks of the college kids. ;)

Re: Surreal-ness...
Thanks!! *hugs* ^_^ No, we didn't have Yoda at our party... does the Magic School Bus in outer space count?

I agree with the tassel/Cum Laude thing... there were only a few that didn't have a gold tassel. (However, this year I found many people who were in National Honors Society & language Honors Societies wearing a black and orange tassel....they looked very confused when I asked them where their gold one was. "We were supposed to wear that one?" "Um, yes..." "Oh..." So there was actually a bizarre mix of them.

I had a fun time grinning at the band after I got my diploma and walked next to them...their expressions said mostly "Who on earth is that and why is she looking at us?".

Yes, we were at a hockey rink! It was nice to know that we wouldn't get rained on, but graduation day was sunny anyway so it wouldn't have mattered. Me on ice skates would be a very scary thing to see...now, if other people skated up to their diploma and I just walked in the snow, it would have been much nicer. ;)

Magic School Bus!! Yes! That's cool!! *lol* What other kinds of stuff did you have there? Did Ms. Frizzle float by? ;)

And yes, there were the confused-but-smart kids who ended up with the orange and black tassels instead of the gold ones, too...I think every class has their share of those. And yes, they sure do give you a ton of those tassels...I can see TWO of my orange and black ones from where I'm sitting, and that's not counting the gold one I actually wore! ^^;

I'm so proud of you, my friend. *sparkles and knocks the graduation cap sideways on your head* :) :)
