Physical Description: Zack might be nearly a quarter Native American, but unlike his little brother Jordan, Zack did not get the darker skin, even though he did get a few of the facial features and hair color. Zack’s hair is normally kept short. He is also clean shaven. He is an even 6 feet tall and fairly well muscled at 195 pounds. He tends to wear western clothing like his brother, but sticking to solid colored western shirts and blue jeans in decent condition. Zack prefers a gray felt hat or a straw hat. He tends to smile a lot, is normally willing to talk, and is more good humored than his little brother. His voice tends to reflect his innate honesty, being rich and deep with no guile or deception, inviting the trust of everyone. His whole appearance is one that shows exactly what Zack is, a simple man doing his best to live out his faith.

Zack does have some scars on his right arm from a very interesting mission trip (see history). He walks quietly, so as not to disturb anyone.

Powers: Zack has no super human powers. His night vision and distance vision are exceptionally sharp for a human. His physical abilities are closer to the top of the human range, but are by no means super human.

Skills: Zack is possibly one of the best pistol shots in the world. He ain’t bad with a rifle or shotgun either. He has above average fighting skills, but lacks the truly malicious streak that his little brother has. Zack used to be a minister; until he was kicked out for being to controversial in Oklahoma by saying that there was no theological reason for mutants to be denied entry into the church. Such an opinion was highly inflammatory, resulting in several members of the Methodist Church to call for his removal. Of course, none of them could adequately argue against him.

Zack is a good hunter, has spent time training horses, and is an all around extraordinary outdoorsman. He also spent a few years as a cop, giving him knowledge of basic investigatory techniques.

History: Zack Reynolds was the oldest child of Mike and April Reynolds. Like all of Mike’s kids, Zack was told two things from an early age: first, never trust the government, because they have a tendency to conceal a lot of the truth. Second, don’t believe that all mutants are evil since some of them kept his daddy from getting killed once. As the oldest son, Zack was determined to be someone his parents and everyone else could rely on. This outlook gave him a maturity that was extraordinary at a young age. Even at the age of three, he tried to help his dad on the ranch, trying to move hay bales and feed sacks that he had no hope of budging. As he grew up, he always had questions about the state of the world and why people could either be so full of goodness or full of darkness. Such questions lead him to study religions and philosophy at a young age.

Many of the philosophers he read seemed to know what questions he was asking, but could not give a satisfactory answer. Most of the religions he looked at seemed to have deities that were to capricious and petty to be responsible for the creation of the world. Zack never even considered Christianity, considering that hardly anyone he knew actually practiced it. His brother Daniel, or Bubba as he liked to be called, said that Zack should just relax and have some fun in life instead of worrying about things he couldn’t change. Zack had always assumed that all of the decent stuff his father did was because of his dad’s job as an investigator with the O.S.B.I. He learned differently when his dad let a battered woman stay at their ranch for a while when the state wouldn’t take her into protective custody. When Zack asked his dad why he did something he didn’t have to do, Mike told him “I might not be the most spiritual man on the planet, but even I know that God would want us to help out someone with as many bad breaks as this gal has had.”

It hit the young kid that he had been looking at Christianity all wrong. It wasn’t about the thunder and brimstone speeches, and trying to shape people to your will. It was about living your life so people would want to imitate your actions and wonder what it was that makes a person so different. Zack decided that instead of trusting what a lot of the folks said faith was about, he would go straight to the source and learn about it himself.

Around this time, Zack’s younger siblings and cousin were born. He liked taking care of them, and he and Daniel decided that they would try to protect them from any bad stuff waiting around out there. Zack also made a few friends, Tommy Knight and Becky Hartwell. Tommy was the only black kid in the school, and it looked a little strange for the black kid and the cowboy to wander around together. They became friends when they were seated next to each other in school. Zack’s relationship with Becky involved both of them irritating each other in grade school, eventually blossoming into something more in high school.

Tommy began competing in football in high school, while Zack preferred going to rodeo’s and steer wrestling. This limited Zack’s knowledge of how hard Tommy’s parents were pushing him to excel at sports at the cost of academics. After Tommy injured his left leg on the field, his parents started pushing him to use steroids to get back in the game. Zack learned of this when his parents were out of town. He told his brother Daniel about it, and Daniel said to get Tommy to their house, and he’d get a message across. Knowing how violent Daniel could get, Zack refused to let Daniel confront Tommy’s parent’s and went himself. Zack believed that a well reasoned argument could get through to Tommy’s dad.

He was wrong. Tommy’s father was enraged that Zack would try to tell him what to do, and said that he would beat Tommy within an inch of his life if Zack tried to tell him what to do. Fortunately for Zack, Daniel had disregarded everything Zack had said and had followed him to Tommy’s house. Daniel said in a cold voice that if anyone wanted to mess with his family or friends of his family, he would hurt them. Tommy’s dad thought that it was funny that a short 14 year old would threaten him, until Daniel pulled out a pair of spiked knuckles and slammed them into his right leg. After he fell to the floor, Daniel lined up his knuckles with his eyes, and told him that if he ever heard of him hurting Tommy again or trying to get him to take steroids, he’d smash his head in.

This showed Zack that despite the best of intentions, there are some people that the only way to get anything across is through violence. He started to pay a little more attention to what his dad said about fighting, and started to practice shooting, as well as exercising a bit more.

Zack and Becky started feeling a mutual attraction around this time, but it wasn’t until Zack turned 17 that they finally went out on a date. Most people assumed that the two were perfect for each other, since both were active in the church and always nice to everybody. For two years they dated, but their time was cut short by Becky being in a wreck with a drunk driver. This has led to a severe distrust and hatred of drinking on Zack’s part. He fell to pieces for about a month after the wreck happened. It was his youngest brother Jordan that eventually got him out of his depression, by saying that if Zack stayed so depressed, he would basically be making Becky a murderer by killing the part of himself that Becky loved because of her. This pissed Zack off enough that he forgot his sorrow long enough to try to chase Jordan down and kill him. By the time Daniel and Ashley got Zack off of Jordan, Zack had realized that the little twerp had been right. Jordan was just proud that his plan had worked and he had his big brother back, even if it had hurt a little. Zack asked Jordan to forgive him for his actions, but Jordan replied in his nine year old voice with an air of satisfaction, “My powers of pissing people off are great indeed. They are strong enough to even overpower the Holy Zack.”

After graduating high school, Zack decided to try to go into the ministry. He gained a degree in divinity from a Methodist university, and started being a minister. This lasted until several members of the Oklahoma Methodist Church started speaking out against mutants. Zack disagreed, resulting in his eventual removal through church politics.

Deciding that he still wanted to help people, Zach joined a local police force, and worked there for a few years. Unfortunately, that county also housed his brother Daniel’s bar, resulting in both brothers getting into a lot of disagreements. Zack eventually decided to go to Mexico on a mission trip, and had a very strange experience.

Zack wound up in a small Mexican town at the wrong time. A few Texas drug dealers had taken a couple of girls from this border town up to San Antonio, resulting in a mob looking for any American to beat up on to let their frustrations out on. Zack wound up taking refuge in what looked like an abandoned train car. While watching the mob tear through town, he saw a blond haired guy trying to avoid them. He waved the guy over there, and offered to let him hide in the train car. It was obvious that someone had used the car for habitation, based on the cardboard boxes used as furniture and the empty food cans scattered around. Zack introduced himself, and the stranger said that his name was Ben. Both of them wondered how a train car had gotten so far from the tracks, and learned the answer when the owner came through the door. All 6 and a half feet of him, holding a headless chicken in one hand and a bloody machete in the other.

Machete guy started swinging his blade around at them, grazing Zack’s right arm. Zack thought he heard a metallic clang when Machete guy hit Ben’s backpack, and both of them ran outside fast and found themselves between blade guy and the crowd. Both climbed the nearest tree fast before either group could see them, and waited in the tree until dawn, taking turns keeping watch. Looking at the back pack, Zack could swear that he saw part of a shield in the bag. Deciding that he must be suffering from sleep deprivation, Zack quickly put it out of his mind.

Upon returning to the states, Zack learned of his youngest brother being shot, and his cousin learning about being a mutant. Zack stayed at his parent’s place for a few days, but decided to visit his brother and cousin when the opportunity arises.

Personality: Generally a nice, easy to get along with guy. A little disgusted about how some people try to twist what their faith says to meet there own ends. He can be a little shy, but is always willing to talk about almost anything.

Likes: God, faith, hope, love, kindness to others, self sacrifice and honesty.

Dislikes: Arrogance, people who are self centered, violence, evil, demons and those who live to cause harm to others.

Sorry, I assume something has gone wrong while moving the bio... nooow it's where it belongs ^^

There comes a time in everyone's life when they have to take over responsibility. The question remains whether there is also a time when we can get rid of it again.
