about current situation in middle-east (II)
The discussion about crisis in the middle east started as a debate in which you Jim and Mr. Clive took part. Anybody who cared to read could tell we had a different opinion over what was going on there. It then evolved into a sort of a 'blog' in which I carefully reported articles from US sources only. I must admit I was biased in choosing articles. I wanted to prove my point but also show that exists in the US a different opinion than the one D.Rumsfeld, GW Bush and alike try to enforce.
What business did you have trimming the thread to a point where the oldest post dates way after the war was over? I had not given up posting you know, even though Irak and its aftermaths (in my opinion seriously underestimated) don't seem to catch as much attention at this time.
As a favor I'm asking you to put the entire thread back on. Shouldn't this be possible you might as well delete it all. You moderate your forum the way you want but the way this thread was truncated, I lost interest. Thank you.

Dear Anonymous and Unregistered,

I appreciate your feedback.

I also appreciate your taking the time and effort to give people a different perspective on life in this world and the reality that our U.S. centric view of life is not necessarily the reality of others. Your articles were well chosen and thoughtful and appreciated.

Old news is old news. The expectation that those who had not kept up with the discussion would return to the beginning to take it all in is at a best bet unlikely.

It was my decision to shorten the posting to more recent articles and discussion points in hopes others would not get overwhelmed by the vastness of it all. I don't apologize for that. Nor would I repost the string if I could.

If you have lost interest that is your thing. We have genuinely appreciated your efforts and hope you stay with it... It is genuinely of value IF people take the time to read it.
All the best.

Big Daddy Jim

Re: about current situation in middle-east (II)
In a nutshell you shortened the thread because it was too long and some posts were too old?
The good people at Ezboard thought of those threads that might be too long and cleverly added junction points, folding up threads into smaller segments. Didn't you notice those digits added as the thread was growing? Visitors could click on any of them if they didn't bother to take the whole in.
As for being too old... This age criteria applies to most contributions posted in this forum don't you think? How old is too old?
In my opinion age is what helps put events into perspective along with experience both of which are strongly bonded. I imagine you can only agree with this statement, can't you Big Daddy?
I advise you to add some sort of disclaimer in which you would state what is acceptable and what is not. Anybody would then be aware of how long their thread could be and for how long they would be kept online, in addition to whatever else criteria under which you arbitrarily decide to cut or delete.
