activation
the lab was full of ativity, a few technicians were plugging wires into machines. In the centre of the room and hooke dup to all the machines stood the figure of a man, he was wearing only jeans and boots, the polished surfaces of which were shining in the strong glow of the overhead spotlights. silently he stood with his eyes closed, his body leaning backwards stifly against a atrange table set just off upright, metal bands from the table went round his arms legs and chest, holding him in place.
"where is the commander?" a man in a white coat spoke to a single operative who was standing at the door of the room "he wanted to be here for this" the man in the coat continued, walking back towards the centre of the room. he moved over to a computer terminal and switched it on, the screen flickered for a second while it searched for a signal, eventually the 3D wireframe image of a man appeared to one side of the screen, rotating slowly, on the other side the word 'offline' was printed in bold, overlayed by a box entitled activation code with a flashing cursor. he sighed and typed in a code, if the commander was late then he would just have to miss it, the activation couldnt wait any longer.
with one last glance at the operative standing by the door he hit the return key, the box on the screen dissapeared along with the word offline, the empty side of the screen was now being slowly filled with lines of writing and codes. the unit was now active. he turned again to the operative, the young soldier did not look too happy with being there, the fear showing in his eyes.
with a low hiss the man in the centre of the room opened his eyes, the unnatural red glow eminating from them slowly died as they focused in on the surroundings, they alighted on the man in the coat. "Unit T1 reporting for duty" his voice sounded human, with a slight accent, To the shock of the doctor the robot lifted his right arm in a salute, snapping through the restraints like they were paper "i...i think we should call for more guards" the man stuttered looking back towards the others in the room "just in case"
