argh! i CAN'T believe it!! SHe's done it again!!!!!
Well my teacher problem has started all over again... after a "ceasefire" of like erm.. only 1 week? maybe 2?
Well right now, our activities' very existence is under threat from her again!!!! You know what?!?!?! Just bcoz she has a new maid arriving this friday, she's adjusting all our school unit's schedule just for her PERSONAL reasons.... she wants to train the maid! Fine... thats acceptable, but we scheduled our camp 3 weeks after the maid comes, and you know what?!?!?!?! She STILL needs to train her maid then!!! What will she be doing during the first 2 weeks? teaching the maid how to eat?!?!?!?! argh i can't believe it!!!!
Argh!!!!!! Why can't she settle her own personal matters with her own Personal(!!!) time?!?!?!

How did this woman, as irresponsible and inconsiderate as she is, get put incharge of a class? Sometimes you have to wonder about the people incharge of appointing teachers.

I worked as a Secretary in a high school for years, and I'm telling you there are some really great teachers, and then there are some really bad teachers. Just like any other occupation. I used to shake my head at times wondering how some of these people ever made it through University let alone Teacher's college.

Well actually, here the school year ends in November
well we're gonna (well all of us , the entire unit of 70) will be talking to her tomorrow, so let's see what we can work out lol..
well thinking of her is starting to give me a headache lol, so im gonna stop now.. maybe will continue later on.. lol

Hope it all works out Phoebs. Spry's right, there's some really good teachers out there and then there are some that makes one wonder the various ways they could have gotten their position.

my squadmates and i have all completely given up hope now coz our juniors are showing us their horrible attitude right now.
yesterday we went on a heritage trail that they organised and they got us lost (believe it or not they had actually walked the trail b4). We offered to lead them on the trail (hadnt been on the trail b4 yet we knew how to get there) and they told us that we couldnt lead them coz we're not allowed to, i mean ur other juniors can't even read a map, then u get us lost and now when we try to help u snap at us? (other groups actually allowed my other squadmates to do so). So we got really fed-up and stopped helping them, and what the juniors did was to isolate us. Throughout the trail, they showed us this really irritated face. I mean what are they angry about? We didnt get them lost, rather they got us lost, they were supposed to know the route at the back of their hands, its their proposal, its their project not ours. Why is it that we have no part in the project planning and yet we know the locations of their checkpoints better than them? The project was executed in a part of Singapore we rarely hang out in. THe good thing is that we're passing our responsibilities to them later this month, we have nothing more to do with that teacher and our juniors. Our juniors have been nothing but trouble to us, and i can proudly say that we have done the best we can in the past year we have been in charge of the unit. If the teacher and the juniors refuse to cooperate, it is at their own expense and that of the unit. The only thing i have left to do with them is that i WAS their senior for 3 years in my 4 years in the red cross unit in my school and that my last role i have to perform for the unit is to bear the national flag for the unit this year for national day.
I can say right now that there is nothing more what the current batch of secondary 4 cadets (me and my squadmates) can do since our juniors all refuse to cooperate and that there is a serious communication breakdown between us and the teacher who still is mixing her personal life which what she has to do here.
I joined the unit back in 2000 and i have watched and experienced the ups and downs of the unit and this year has been the worst year, true, maybe the secondary 4 cadets have no leadership skills, but we will have nothing to lead and had nothing to lead since our juniors have never been cooperative. What they showed us is that they are a bunch of spoilt brats. Why join a uniformed group knowing that theres corporal punishment involved and then complain about it? Why do a slipshod proposal for a project when they can do a really good and detailed one on the first try and save everyone the trouble or going through the proposal over and over again? Why accept to take part in a competition and then decided to withdraw? Why join a competition that u know u have to work extremely hard for and then decide to slack? Yes the secondary 4 cadets are not perfect, we're a bunch of playful people, but we can work, and we have our track record to prove for it. 1st in district footdrill, 3rd in nationals footdrill, 100% passing rate in national course, 3 cadets who ended courses among the top 2, 4 cadets who ended courses among the top 25%, 3rd in the drama category for talentime, 1st and 2nd in the group song category for talentime, grabbing a Gold for the excellence unit award and assisting the unit in grabbing 2 more golds for that b4hand. At least we know how to work hard when it matters, we've had a batch of ex-seniors who are a year older than us and we hoped the juniors wouldnt take after them, but they did anyway.
the situation looks hopeless and all 18 of us have no idea what we can do to help them further. If next year, we even get a bronze for the excellent unit award, that would be considered a miracle.

Let it fly, its ok. Ya know people think since there higher than you then you cannot tell them what to do. Its just stubborn on there part. Wanting to be right all the time. Ive seen it happen in schools, when the upperclass think there better just because your lower or younger than them. Im sorry your going threw this. But i would just bite my tounge and let them do whatever they have to do. And if that means getting lost than so be it. Then they will realize they did it on there own selfs.

i guess what we're really annoyed about is that whatever we try to do, we do it for the best interests of the unit. Its bad enough that our juniors can't handle what we went thru back then, we've been thru a lot. I remember there was one particular morning when i was still a secondary 2 junior that the seniors flared up and made us do 50 push ups in that morning b4 school started, it was a tuesday morning, school day at that as well. Now they can't handle 20 push ups. i mean ok, maybe physically theyre not there anymore. But mentally, its gone worse, they can't even run 1km for trainings, but they can run 2.4km for their physical fitness test? And its not really the case of the older ones not taking the younger ones into consideration, in this case , we're the older ones. Its just in our mindset that if we put them thru the strictest training now, hopefully they will buck up which they never did, and that they will learn from all the mistakes they made so that when they take over from us they didnt have to start from scratch. Last year when we took over, there was no one there to guide us, our ex-seniors left us no tips, we had nothing to learn from them and we learnt nothing. All we had we started from scratch, all we want to make sure is that our juniors don't go thru that. Their heritage trail proposal, true we were too strict, but they were hopelessly pathetic. I spotted an average of 6 mistakes per paragraph for their 60 page proposal. They didnt consider that if they did the proposal someone has to go thru it. And who goes thru it? none other than their 'evil seniors', us. We set high expectations for them for course, bcoz we thought that if they worked hard enough it was attainable. The juniors don't seem to remember that b4 we took over, we were once in their shoes and under seniors who openly showed their hatred towards us bcoz when we first joined the unit, within a month, we did better than them and there was the constant comparison between my squad and my seniors' squad with my squad always being favoured. My juniors and my squad didnt go thru that, bcoz we managed to keep the the standards the seniors asked for.Do they want someone to tell them that they are better than us to be happy? I mean they say they hate us bcoz we made them re-do their proposals. But really, it was sad, there were spelling mistakes everywhere, grammatical errors, content errors, the presentation of the proposal itself failed. They had to learn someone and i have the feeling that they didnt.
They are already being over pampered by their parents and the teacher. No corporal punishment. No scoldings. And in case ur thinking, no we're not sadistics idiots who just want to torture our juniors. Its just that we realise that these 2 items are just about the only items we have to instill discipline. we know our juniors and it has proved us right, their attitude. the moment the teacher restricted us, the juniors simply stopped behaving, they stopped trying, they've become worse. They now have this mindset that since they won;t have to do push ups anymore as punishments, they can not give a hoot about what we say. Everything we tell them goes in one ear and out the other.
Right now our problem group is the secondary 3s bcoz they will be taking over the unit as of June 24, and they are showing such a bad attitude i don't think i would ever want to leave the unit to them. But this is a major year for the secondary 4s as we need to take our GCE O Levels and we've simply lost all hope and can't go on anymore. I have secondary 2 juniors telling me that they hope we never step down, but looking at how the secondary 3s are behaving, i don't even know if i can ever trust my juniors again. Time after time, they betrayed our trust. They've broken their promises many times. And these people are actually the people who are the eldest and supposedly the more mature, and the cream of the crop (even tho its dying) is acting this way, how will their offspring act? like them. Yes, this would mean our juniors are taking after us, in certain ways they have, but in others they have taken after the ex-seniors a year after us. They don't realise that my squad and my ex-seniors' squad developed differently. My squad took after the ex-seniors 3 and 2 years ago. Well i have no idea who the ex-seniors 1 year older took after. So far the secondary 3s have already started conducting trainings and we have been observing them. And its uncanny the resemblance to the ex-seniors. i know its inevtiable that the unit has to come under them, but i just don;t think it will see the sun rise again, given the current batch of people we have.
